>How much money do we have?>You have $24.50.
>How much money do we owe to Momiji and the Hakurei Shrine, and for what reasons?
>How did Aya end up in a coma?
> What kind of dollar do we have?Could you clarify what this means?
> Can we abuse the monetary exchange system in hopes of making money?>You do not have much of value.
> How much self-esteem do we have?
Could you clarify what this means? What kind of money we are holding, assuming that there are different currencies.
What kind of money we are holding, assuming that there are different currencies.>Gensokyo only has one currency.
> Look for employment opportunities. Let's try to avoid shady business for now.>You are self employed, printing the Kakashi Spirit News. You'd like to avoid resorting to desperate measures if you can...
>Are we aware of what happens to those who can't make the deadline?>You haven't seen what happens yourself, but you believe that failing to meet the deadline was what led to Aya taking hallucinogens in the first place.
>How long till the deadline?>It is early morning. You should have around five hours to pay the Hakurei Shrine Maiden.
>Do we know of any places that might have abandoned things of value that we can hawk?>All such places were looted long ago.
>How well does the Hakurei Maiden live these days?
>How does our spirit photography work, as far as we know?>You can obtain any picture or film that exists. You used to sell many articles using the feeds from the security cameras in Nitori's laboratory. Pity that only a few people use cameras in Gensokyo.
>What sorts of places have been looted?
Just getting this out there, When this storys over there better be a huge-ass .txt file for it.Uh, what? That sounds like :effort:. ;_;
>How did this all even happen? What made the world sink into such a horrible state?>When the border began to break, everything changed...
> Sigh, and start pulling up pictures of camera feeds from NItori's lab. Maybe there's something good there...>You haven't used your spirit photography in a while, but there's not harm in trying to find some pictures now.
> Why did we decide to take care of Aya, anyways?
> Do we think Momiji would be willing to loan us more money?
>Print up fake money and color it in nicely.>Several people have tried this before. Several people have been turned into hollow shells of their former selves.
>Are we Counting Aya's money with the $24.50? Maybe that can help us pay it off?
> Find Tewi and ask for a loan>You've heard rumors of a rabbit loan shark residing near Eientei. You've also heard rumors that half of Eientei's residents have disappeared within the past few months.
> What happened to the Moriya Shrine after the raid?>The Moriya Shrine is nothing but another abandoned building now.
>You check the camera's in Nitori's laboratory. The corridors and rooms are empty, as usua-You sly dog you.
>That's strange, you can see Nitori running around some of the corridors, and is that shadow at the edge of one of the pictures... the hell raven?! She's alive?
>What exactly happened? Like did more people start moving to our world, And what happened to some of the 'bigger names' of Gensokyo?
>Do we have any idea what happened to the residents of the Moriya Shrine?>The sky began to literally rip apart. For the next few days, a bright light could be seen from the Hakurei Shrine.
> Quickly! Take pictures of the events that are unfolding in the lab!>You save as many pictures as you can. However, all of the feeds seem to short before you can get a clear picture of the hell raven. You can see Nitori setting something up in what appears to be a mess hall before the hell raven enters and the feed ends.
>Do we know anyone that might be willing to pay for those photos?>Most people have lost interest in Nitori Kawashiro, they are far more focused on trying to maintain their own wellbeing.
Started thinking about the possibility that you would do this last night. Have I ever told you how awesome you were? That doesn't stop you from being able to tell me again!
>Do we know where either Rin or Satori might be?>You believe that both Rin Kaenbyou and the Satori reside within the underground.
>If not, could we get Momiji to help us find one of them?
>What exactly happened to SDM?>Remilia Scarlet attempted to hold a stand against the Hakurei Maiden's ridiculous demands. The Scarlet Devil Mansion was levelled as a warning.
>Why is Reimu demanding so much money anyways?
>Add side-quest: Find out about Higan, The underground, and the underworld.
-> There's possible news to be had there, And possible money to cash in on!
>Did Reimu's behavior and personality change markedly after whatever fucked with the Border?>Her personality didn't change, per se, it is simply far more extreme than what it once was.
>Do we know anyone that would care about news about the hell raven, rather than Nitori?
>What do we know about the hell raven, to try and find someone that does?
>Relationships, Quests, Inventory.>You are friends with Momiji Inubashiri. You used to work together, as did all the tengu, until the border broke.
>Check chest for unusual growths.
> Consider selling the pictures to the Underground residents so that we can make the payment.>You suspect that pictures of someone that has been missing for over a year could be extremely valuable to the right people.
>Well yeah, But isnt selling a picture to someone... wrong? Sure, We need money and all, But we dont need it so much to throw our morals away.> Honestly, I think this might be one of the better options we have. Sure there're others, but I would assume they involve shadier dealings than this due to the situation.
>... Do we...?
>How much money have we been getting recently, and how far has it declined? What's our main method of money making, and what are we skilled at?>Not much. You make enough to support barely support yourself and a comatose Aya, but that's about it.
>Well yeah, But isnt selling a picture to someone... wrong? Sure, We need money and all, But we dont need it so much to throw our morals away.>Do you?
>... Do we...?
> Honestly, I think this might be one of the better options we have. Sure there're others, but I would assume they involve shadier dealings than this due to the situation.>You feel conflicted.
>You did. You have already spent them.>Maybe you should be a Reimu and ask people for money for in a Donation Box.
>Do we have any funds for specific emergencies like this one?
>About how much would $180 be for a normal person in Gensokyo these days?
>Do we know if anyone's been to the Underground anytime recently?
>Do we know any way to reach the Underground?
>How easily would Reimu be able to find out about Aya, and our relationship with her?
>How is Aya's condition, specifically? If we had to take her with us to try and flee, or at least buy time without her being threatened...
>Is Aya even Conscious, or is she sleeping?>Almost enough to buy a month's worth of food.
>Would we be able to sell the company to someone else so they could give us money, or anything else.>If you could find a buyer.
>Maybe we could go underground and make some money there somehow?>Maybe you could.
>Whats exactly keeping Aya alive anyways? Is it one of the Kappa, or Eirin?
>Hell, What happened to the doctors and the immortals?
Can I have an explanation on WHY Aya 'overdosed'?
>Aya overdosed on hallucinogens, claiming she just "wanted to go back to the old days".
>Are we aware of what happens to those who can't make the deadline?
>You haven't seen what happens yourself, but you believe that failing to meet the deadline was what led to Aya taking hallucinogens in the first place.
>Check Inventory>You have in your possession your camera, several editions of the Kakashi Spirit News and Bunbunmaru, a brush, some ink, and a notebook.>Retrieve Arms from Safe, its important, I think.
>Quests
>Skills
>Relationships
>Sexual experience
Start spinning for whatever reason
>Look around the room, maybe there is some money under a couch or something.
>Till the deadline?>Until noon, yes.
>Fuck, leave the house and find something to make a quick buck. Maybe we can take some pictures of Eientei or something?!
>Break fourth wall and ask Caedo Ergo Sum for ideas.
>Head underground. We don't have time to waste, and this is our only usable lead.>You decide to fly to the underground at full speed.>Unless someone's willing to pay good money for a centuries-old tengu's virginity
>And if Yuugi covers the undergrounds' payments in full... does that mean Reimu doesn't have influence down there? If not, then they might be a little more willing to help investigate her... possibly.
>When's the next time we need to take care of Aya?>You need to feed her and change her sheets sometime during the evening.
>What's the entrance like?
>What do we have (left) in terms of self-defense?
>Have we ever worked in a bar, since you know, oni's are underground.>You have had many part time jobs in the past.
>What are we, and others, capable of in terms of magic or spellcards, at this point?>Very few people have any spellcards left. You are not one of these people. The Hakurei Maiden accepts spellcards as payment.
>How good is our night vision for inside the cave?
>Go in and stay wary. Try not to make too much noise to attract any sort of trouble.>You enter the cavern, taking care and watching your surroundings as you do.
>Are there any other directions to explore in the cavern?>The cavern appears to fork if you pass the hole.
>Does Yuugi guard the underground from others, as well?
>Do we have any photos of this place to show us where to go? We shouldn't just randomly pick a direction.>You do not possess any pictures of the underground.
> Go ahead and take the chance that a friendly youkai is around: the other option is to wander around lost while Aya suffers...>You call out into the darkness.
> "Hello? Anyone here?"
>Can we see it? If not, Investigate.>You investigate the noise, travelling deeper into the cavern.
>Stay cautious though. It could be adormiopoisonous youkai.
> COME AT ME BRO!
>Stay on the evasive. You are a tengu, after all, and you excell in speed. Good for you that speed also means how fast you can get away from a claw swipe.>You're speed is probably your greatest asset in a fight, your only real competitors in speed are Aya Shameimaru and Youmu Konpaku.
> Use the flash on our camera. Let there be light.>You grab your camera and take a picture in front of you.
>Shit, We got injected by some poison right?>This isn't good.
>Fuck, Check where we got hit. Try to clean it or something and move on.
> Limp up to the assailant, wait for her to look at us, and flash her in the eyes again.>You make your way towards your assailant.
> What does the assailant look like?
> Demand an explanation.>"Like hell I'd tell you anything!"
> If she refuses, rob her off anything that can be sold as money.
> Gag her if we can.
> "You know, I could really use these beads, maybe even give 'em to the shrine maiden as collateral. But, despite you being kind of a bitch, I'm a bit generous: you give me the antidote to whatever you did to my leg, and lead me to Chireiden, and I'll give 'em back. Deal?">The woman coughs a bit more, trying to catch her breath. Maybe you shouldn't have kicked her so hard.
> "Nuh uh, what makes you think I'm that dumb? You'll just run off and not hold up your end. So, I'll give you one of them when you give me the antidote, and the other when we get to Chireiden.">"I will not run. I will take you to the city. Please, give them back."
>"When I'm in there I'll most likely be surrounded by your friends and die when I dont agree to our terms, so yes, I will.">"Friends..."
>Return the first Pearl.>You give the woman back one of hair beads.
>Ask them what their name is.>Make Ostrich from newspapers.
> Let's go ahead and interview her on the way down. Maybe our next issue'll have an expose along with the report on the fight between the hell raven and the nutjob kappa.
> Do we have a notepad? Start taking notes!>Knowledge is power. You take out your notebook and writing utensils.
> Follow her.>You begin to follow Yamame deeper into the cavern.
> "So, what was the deal with that, attacking me and then sucking on my wound? Do you make the poison yourself?"
>Once the other questions are answered: "What've things been like down here, anyways?">"... I don't like going into the city anymore."
>Be wary of any other potential attackers.>You keep your eyes peeled for anything else that might attack you in here.
> "Okay, so you were just mugging me, not trying to kill me and eat me. So, what kind of youkai are you? What do you do, when you're not robbing people?">"E-eat you? I'm not that desperate."
> "What sort of things've been going on the city? Was the hell crow so important, that she'd cause a change like that?"
> "Do you know anything about Utsuho's master, and the state of affairs over there?"
> "You first, slowly">Yamame begins to descend into the hole.
>Follow her.
>Keep an eye on her, and our cameraphone close at hand. Not pointed at her or in grabbing reach, but available... just in case.>You follow the spider into the hole.
>"Why do you like these pearls so much anyways?">Yamame sounds rather dejected.
>Follow them down the hole.>You continue to follow Yamame.
>Who was this friend?
> ... Ah. "Do you know where your friend is, or when she might come back?">"If I knew, why would I be waiting?"
> "At least know where she went? I might've heard something, I'm a reporter, after all. Tell me about her.">Yamame stops abrubtly.
> "I can't tell you anything about her if I don't even know who she is! Description, girl! Also, talk while we move, 'cause I'm on a deadline.">"Anything! Please, tell me anything you know!"
>"Is she a bird youkai of some sort? Come on, Give me details, I cant list off every person I know in gensokyo without wasting four hours."> Won't work: she's panicking.
> Won't work: she's panicking.+effect
> Slap her, and grab her by her head. Maintain eye contact. "Listen. I can't help you until you stop flipping out. Calm down, now."
>"Is she a bird youkai of some sort? Come on, Give me details, I cant list off every person I know in gensokyo without wasting four hours.">You try to calm her down with little succuss.
> Won't work: she's panicking.
> Slap her, and grab her by her head. Maintain eye contact. "Listen. I can't help you until you stop flipping out. Calm down, now."
+effect>You grab Yamame and slap her.
> Stare her in the eyes
>Do we know of this vagrant at all?>You do not know of anyone matching this description.
> Continue moving the way we were before, dragging her along with an arm looped through hers.
> "Crying's not going to bring her back. Now, I own a newspaper, and I got my eyes and ears everywhere, so I can keep an eye out for her. But in order for me to continue printing, I need to get to Chireiden, and fast. So, we can keep moving, and you can describe Kisume to me on the way, all right?"
> "Once again, I can't go anything with your lack of description. How long ago was it?">You link your arm to Yamame's and begin to drag her deeper underground. She seems rather drained and provides no resistance.
> Jot down the description of Kisume in our notepad. "I'm still sore about you attacking me but... I know how it is to worry for a-a loved one..."
> Anything significant happen around the time of her disappearance?
> Recall the news from 3 seasons ago.>You write down Kisume's description in your notepad.
>Try and find some photos of this person, or anyone resembling them on our way to the city.>You search for any photos of this Kisume, however no pictures of her seem to exist.
>"Thanks. Trust me, I'll do all I can!"
>Return the other pearl.>You return the other pearl to Yamame.
>Follow her. Do keep wary for other underground horrors.>You follow Yamame as she heads through the crack in the wall.
>"You're welcome."
>What do we know about the people traditionally associated with the palace, anyways?>You know only of the two Satori and their many pets.
So. How're we going to blackmail a mind reader?Let's assume mind control and mind reading are the same thing.
> Find a tin foil hat
> Take a deep breath and look for people who we can talk to.
>"Trying to get my Shrine Maiden protection paid. I have about four hours left now.">"Pay the Shrine Maiden? But why underground?"
>"I have something that should be of value, I hope.">"Are you lacking the money to pay the Maiden? I suppose that would be why you robbed me."
>Consider if there's any real reason to hide this. Decide we're probably in too deep by this point.>Are you having doubts? Ridiculous. You came down here for one thing, and only one thing. And you are not going to leave without it.
>"The people at the palace."
> "I'm sure I can think of something.">"I suppose it is not my place to pry into what this something is."
So. How're we going to blackmail a mind reader?Well, we're going to try to sell the pictures that prove that Utsuho is alive and had recently fought Nitori. That might be worth a little bit, but it's really not too terribly helpful for Satori and Rin. What WOULD be useful information, though, is the fact that Nitori's two assistants fled the base: if Satori and RIn can find them, then they can find Utsuho. However, we don't know that yet, so we'll have to hope that the opportunity to find the camera footage that shows them leaving will present itself.
> "Thanks for the help. You be careful, all right?">"Good luck with your financial troubles."
> Walk up to the door and knock.
> Aw, damn it all to hell, we're not letting sleeping youkai get in the way of our survivial. Open the door.>You attempt to force open the door, it appears to be locked.
>Is Yamame still within hearing distance?>She is, though she shouldn't be for long.
>Throw Paintball at door.
>Look for alternate entrances.
> We'll keep that as a last resort.
> Do a quick circuit around the entire building, see if we find any doors or other openings. If we can't, bang on the door again.
> We'll keep that as a last resort.>Those windows do look rather expensive.
> Do a quick circuit around the entire building, see if we find any doors or other openings. If we can't, bang on the door again.
> If we still don't get answered, then we do that.>You decide to break one of the windows, but which?
>Don't break any windows yet; being on their good side for now would make it a little easier to get payment for our information without being blatantly unfair about it.>You decide to refrain from breaking the windows.
>After checking for other entrances, if no alternatives present themselves,Check whether Yamame's still around. If she wouldn't hear us, shout, "I have news about Utsuho!"
> "Ah, are you the elder of the satori sisters? I have some information I think you might want to know about...">"I am."
> Study the satori. How does she look?
> Wide eyes. Stick our leg into the door.>This isn't fair!
> "W-wait! Isn't there some sort of reward for this info?"
>"I don't need to answer that, do I?">The satori doesn't respond.
>Force our way into the doorway.
>"Because my choices are roughly this or having the Shrine Maiden cripple me too badly to keep Aya alive."
>And you know the significance of that, don't you?
>Eye the mansion interior - does she seem to be telling the truth? Would her windows be worth anything significant?> Or the door.
>"Then maybe you can tell me something I CAN get money off of. Or someONE."
>Eye the mansion interior - does she seem to be telling the truth? Would her windows be worth anything significant?
> Or the door.>"I doubt that anyone in the underground has much money."
>"And I could tell you more, see if there are more pictures. If you have nothing, why don't you show me?">"Don't you think we've already tried to save her, only to be met with failure after failure?"
>"You're such a cheapskate, you know that? Are you really so obsessed with clinging onto a few measly dollars that you can't even learn about what happened to your friend? Well, fine. If that's what she's worth to you, I really hope she doesn't have any plans of coming back here.">The satori stiffens.
>"Did I say something wrong? Because you're refusing to shell out to learn more about the fate of a loved one.">"And have I not told you that we have no money?"
>Ask where the other sister is, out of curiosity.
>"Have you given up? Yes you have. Does that imply you stopped caring? Yes it does. Does this mean your don't care? Absolutely. Don't lie to me, lady. I'm a reporter. But alright, have it your way. Pretend that not knowing what's happening is going to make things any different for her. And yeah, you're lying about the money thing. Otherwise you wouldn't be so eager to not even let me peek inside.">"And I'm being told this by one that would toy with the emotions of complete strangers for some money."
>Shrug.
>"But like I said, have it your way."
>Slam door in Satori's face, then start walking away.
>Ask where the other sister is, out of curiosity.
>No, let's not let up on the pressure so quickly. Maybe later.>You wonder about the location of the other satori but decide to refrain from asking about it.
> Let ourself in.>You have four hours and five minutes remaining.
> "You're not the only one who has someone she needs to protect. If it means that I need to go that far to do it... then fine."
> Shove down the feelings of disgust at ourself, and start multitasking, looking through recent pictures of Nitori's lab and looking to see if there's anything that we could possibly pawn.
> Do we know where Nitori's lab is?
>If those previous rescue attempts failed due to lack of inside information...>"We would likely fail, even with that information."
>Fucking mind-readers.>"You are a reporter, are you not? I must ask you not to discriminate simply because of what I am."
>"Then has her current situation happened before?"
> Scan through past images taken, before the feeds started to go down.>You search the existing pictures.
> "Well, no... so, how did your rescue attempt fail before? Everyone knows where the lab is..."
> "What happened? The kappa put up a bigger fight than expected?">"The entire facility is a giant labyrinth, laden with traps."
> Follow the two kappa through the cameras.
> Where did they end up running off to?>The kappa left the scope of the cameras. You cannot see any more pictures of them.
> "Well, there's only two kappa working for Nitori now. That, and with that breakout Utsuho had, maybe there's your chance. Even if you can't hire any more oni, maybe you and your other pet can sneak in."
>What places would be a good source of income, And what places have been 'untouched'?>If you knew this, you wouldn't be having money issues right now, would you?
> Have we heard anything regarding the lab's security in the last couple of months?>You have not.
I, for one, would like to help them; if only because I would help someone in dire need if I knew I was going to have major problems hitting a deadline in a couple of hours time. Just comes down to the question of would Hatate do that?Hatate's main concerns are her survival and Aya's safety, though which order that's in I'm not sure. As for the question of how altruistic Hatate is, well, isn't she the sort, in this game, to have sympathy for people who can't reach their loved ones...?
> "What do you have to lose? You don't have money, so eventually the red-white'll take care of you, and this fancy place won't be enough to stop her. Plus, you're so attached to your home and your trinkets, but you wouldn't give 'em up for your pet crow? Nitori only has two people to her name, hell, she might not even have them any more, and who knows what your pet did to Nitori when she caught up to her? Why not give it another go? You have your pet to save, and you'll have revenger on that kappa, and you'll be able to get some monetary gain, too.">"If I could get her back I would give up everything!"
> If she still resists, then: "How 'bout I go ask Rin what she thinks, then?"
>"If I could get her back I would give up everything!"
>"What kind of traps? Maybe doing more than brute-forcing it would help.">"I don't know what those things were. I consider it fortunate that we managed to escape with no casualties."
>A tengu like us could handle dodging speedy attacks, right...?
>"Nothing's 'impossible' in Gensoyko. More like 'try and see how hard it is'.">"Your optimism simply astounds me. I wonder how you've managed to survive for so long."
>Turn into Kamina. Sock her in the face.
>"'Those things?'"
>Those kappa that fled... could they have left the lab? Did we ever find out which cameras might actually be near the entrances/exits of the place?
>"Plus, think of it this way. Do you want to spend the rest of your life thinking about what's happening to her? I bet you don't, and I'm probably right. You said it yourself, you'd do anything; as would I. Do you think remaining here and losing hope day by day is the best thing to do? If you can't afford anything any more, then think about what might happen. The shrine maiden wouldn't care.">"But it is impossible!"
>"So to me, you have a choice. Stay here, do nothing and keep wallowing away like this until the shrine maiden makes it worse. Or actually go out there, one last time, and fight for what you and that Orin want more then anything right now; that hell crow back by your side... At home."
>Stand in front of her; hand on shoulder.
>"If you still refuse, then at least I can't say I haven't tried. But know that I'll come with you if you do; because frankly, I've got nothing else to lose right now, except Aya. And I'll be damned if I don't fight for her, let alone with you on this."
>Sigh; an apology might be in order before she gets any worse.>"Rin..."
>"By what was just said, it sounds like an impossible task on my own. And you two have obviously tried everything."
>Pause, Satori will likely try and read us.
>"But I have been able to see through the cameras of the place and, believe me when I say this, there is no one there minus the individuals we mentioned; which included Utsuho."
>"You've told me about the traps and... those things... but if the place is empty, what's stopping us? I know you must hate us so much right now; you have every right to be since I showed up the way I did. But..."
>Glance at Orin, then back to Satori and sigh.
>"Oh never mind. Forget I ever came here... and sorry."
>Start to walk away; think about how Utsuho must be feeling after what we saw of her in that shot earlier...
Are you thinking of housing Aya here so at least she's somewhere safer then the mountain?
Or because you think Hatate might end up staying there the night if this takes as much out of her as we are thinking?
Or something I've missed?
Or both? Because it's a pretty good idea... But how do we put that one across?
Doing the rescue on our own? That's asking a bit I think; especially with how Orin is. Plus, I did sort of suggest at having them tag along since, you know, they know what to look out for some what. We need that along with our little resource.
But yeah, Aya is our main concern too; so good point. I'm heading to bed because I need it... damn it; I really wanted to stick with this through it too.
Do your thing. ^^
> How difficult is it to care for Aya right now?>You have to feed her at the beginning and end of every day.
>Check time left>You have four hours and two minutes remaining.
>Well fuck. This is a lot of stuff we're getting ourselves into.>You just wanted to get enough money to pay off the Shrine Maiden, damn it. What the hell is this?
>Is there ANYTHING in your mind, or that you own, that may be important to someone? Think really hard about it, There's gotta be some sort of information or something.
>... Then there's nothing.>There has to be something... right?
>We'll find a way through somehow... right?
>... you're threatening Aya, aren't you?>The satori says nothing.
>"... and if we succeed?"
>Well looks like we've got so involved in their affairs we can't turn back now.>It would be rather hard to back out now.
>We should probably show them the photos now that we have a deal?
>"When shall we set off for Nitori's Labs? Any preparations you will need to make before that?"
>"Then lets go right now.">"Okuu, wait for me, I'm coming to save you."
> Head out of the Palace and to the outskirts of the city.>You head out of the palace encountering nothing of note along the way.
> Remaining time.
The spirit photography gives some layout of the insides.This.
We could make our way to an area visible from the cameras and use that to navigate.
>Time check: How far is it from out current location to Nitori's laboratories?>It should take you half an hour at your top speed, forty minutes at an average speed.
> Start heading for the Lab.>You take flight heading towards the exit to the underground.
>"Sort of. We know the layout of the place, some what. The main goal is getting inside...">"And how do you plan on doing that?"
>Show Satori the recent pictures of Nitori running through the corridors; but not of her setting up whatever that thing was.
>"Based on these pictures, I don't think traps will be an issue; but I'd stay alert just in case."
>Keep up that flying and be quick about it; hopefully those two will keep up. If not, slow down a little.
> Keep flyin'.
> Show Rin the pictures, but leave out the one where Nitori is setting the thing up again.
> Keep flyin'.
>Yeah, keep flyin'.>Fry away now, fry away now, fry awaaaaaaaaaaay.
>Before we show the pictures, mentally ask Satori if it's a good idea. Don't want her slowing down from getting emotional or anything.
>If her answer is useless, show her the pictures. Let Satori know she could have prevented this.
> Show Rin the pictures, but leave out the one where Nitori is setting the thing up again.>"You may as well, we've come this far."
>"If I said improvisation, you'd probably get more annoyed. The two I spotted running away earlier will have either disabled whatever protection the exit had, if that was where they ended up running towards, which would be our entrance, or they would have left it open for us. Once there, we can get to finding her and Nitori; though...">"So you're leaving it entirely up to chance."
>Side by side with Satori for a second; whisper a little, even though she probably knows what we're about to say... Or what we've already seen...
>"I'm not sure what happened after the camera cut off. Anything could have happened, and that's why I'm praying too. I know how much that raven means to you two, but please don't forget that you're not the only one fighting for someone. I want to see Aya after this; like you want to see Utsuho when we get there."
>Keep up the pace. Where be we now?
> Set down near the entrance.>You descend to the entrance of the laboratory with the satori and kasha.
> Is it open?
>Fry away now, fry away now, fry awaaaaaaaaaaay.>
>Can our stockings turn into a sword?
>Head on in, Unless something stops us.
> Keep cautious. Don't want to get hurt charging in blindly.
>Disturbed? In what way?>A few panels do not appear to be properly attached to the wall.
>Do we have something on hand or nearby that we can throw into the corridor to see if anything reacts? If we do, throw it.
>If not, can we check to see if anything is coming from the cameras using our phone?
> First check the camera feeds.>You check all the operational feeds to reveal that the areas you can see are all empty.
> After that, find a rock and throw it into the hallway.
> If nothing happens, find another and chuck it at one of the panels.
>If not... Take a step inside; brace for any sort of activity.> We can still shoot danmaku right?
>Turn to Satori and Orin.>You face the satori and her kasha.
>"That sort of thing happen to you two before?"
>If yes... "What happened after it?"
>If not... Take a step inside; brace for any sort of activity.
> We can still shoot danmaku right?>You can!
> If so, shoot at the panel and gauge its reaction before stepping into the corridor. Depending on Satori's answer that is.
>Well, can't say it's not clever; the kappa always were good at doing stuff like that.>Pity that stuff like this is getting in your way.
>"It may be one big maze, but I have the camera feeds. Surely that counts for something."
> Head inside.>You step inside the laboratory, satori and kasha in tow.
> Keep an eye on the active feeds and move forward cautiously.
> "Huh. Seems like the system isn't working well.">"It doesn't matter, we're going to save Okuu!"
> DID the cameras stay stationary?
>Slightly askew? Enough to see out of it?>There is a small gap you can see out of.
>Enough for a small cat to fit through?
> We're boxed in right?>You would be if some of the panels hadn't stopped abruptly.
> Look through the gap. What can we see?
> Try pushing against one of the panels to see if it moves.
> Inventory
> Can any of the panels blocking our way into the lab be pushed away?>Try as you might, you cannot move the panels that have been set properly.
> If so, push and continue on.
> Head right.>You make your way past the panels blocking the path to the right.
>Have we appeared on any of the cameras in the base?>You check the camera feeds again.
>Note the location of that out-of-place panel.
>Proceed with caution, follow the location of the out-of-place panel if moves.
>feel it up. "Hey baby you wanna go out tonight?"
>Push the panel around, see what happens.
>feel it up. "Hey baby you wanna go out tonight?"
>Push the panel around, see what happens.
>Wait, we already tried hitting the previous one with a rock: It reacted, and we almost got stuck. Try leaving this one alone and see what happens.>You decide to leave the panel alone for now. It does not do anything.
>Try to head further in; again, track the pushed panel in case it moves.
>Well, It's a labyrinth, There's more then meets the eye obviously.>Something like this isn't going to stop you.
>Try feeling around the walls for any sort of indents or something.
>Ask Satori: Can Rin turn into a cat? If so, could she fit through the gaps?>The satori nods to the first question and shakes her head to the second.
>Test the out-of-place panel if the answer is negative.
>Ask the others to standby. Who knows if there's traps on the other side!>You ask the satori and her kasha to stand back. The two comply.
>Pull the panel away slowly.
>Once there's a gap, if nothing's wrong, peek through it.
>Is there a camera that monitors the double door we're seeing? If so, check if we can see what's around it.>There is a camera at the end of the corridor camera. However, it shouldn't be able to see anything more than what you can already see.
>If we don't see any immediate threats, pull away the panel and enter cautiously.
>How far can we see through the gap on the other side of the room?>You can see most of what's on the other side of the wall, not that there's all that much to see.
>Examine the canister-is it labelled?
>If the canister reveals nothing, go through the gap in the wall. Otherwise, wait.
>Time check please.
>Question:How does Reimu collect the taxes? Does she do it in person, or does she send representatives? Would she find us if we weren't around to pay up, or would she just wreck our place?
>"Yea! Nothing but charred stuff here!">Wait a second on this.
>"Yea! Nothing but charred stuff here!"
>Wait a second on this.>You decide to refrain from saying this for the time being.
>Have we seen this place from the cameras? Was this the large hall the hell raven was last seen?>You believe that the door you used to enter this room was the same one that Nitori entered before she began to set something up.
>Ask Satori if she knows what the stuff in the canister is, or what its for.>You hear the satori reply from the corridor. "I do not."
> Check the cameras to see if we can find any signs of life besides ourselves.>You check all the operational feeds from the first level of the laboratory.
> If nothing, check the cameras for signs of recent passage through the halls.
> Check the connected room for clues.
>examine the room or the canister for any sort of marks.>The tables are disfigured and charred, the floor has a large burn mark on it, the canister has several dents on it.
>What do we know of chemistry?
>How many pictures do we have of Nitori or Utsuho as they made their ways to this room? Is there any chance we could piece together a route through the lab?>You have plenty, and it would be a rather simple task to retrace their steps if the walls hadn't begun to rearrange itself.>Rambo into the unknown
>Er, should we be leaving the others behind?> We're taking them with us, even if the scene doesn't look too promising right now.
> Is there any red trail in the main room?>You look around the room you're in as well as the larger room. The floor, aside from the burn marks, looks fairly clean.
> If not, look around and see f there are any doors apart from where we came in.
>Well seeing as how the canister is in the same room with the scorch-marks, Maybe it caused it? Or maybe it was her...>You wouldn't know.
>Either way, Move onwards!
>Er, should we be leaving the others behind?>Should you?
> We're taking them with us, even if the scene doesn't look too promising right now.>Where are you taking them to?
>Er, should we be leaving the others behind?
> Go back to the main entrance and try going left this time. Maybe we can find a staircase or something.>You decide that there's nothing else to see in this corridor.
> Push and/or pull the panels to get them out of our way.>You move the three panels to reveal two nondescript doors and more corridor.
> Open and check both doors.>You pull away the two panels blocking the doors some more before opening the doors.
> Check both rooms for any clues such as signs of recent use.>A quick glance through both rooms shows no signs of recent use.
> If nothing important occurs, keep these rooms in mind and head further down the corridor.
> Can we discern via the cameras if we're getting nearer to the blood trail?>You should be fairly close, if it weren't for the fact that it's on a different level.
> If we can't, head down the connected corridor.
> Head over to it and peer through the gap.>You walk down the corridor, past the panel in the middle and head over to the section of wall that it should have covered.
> "Finally! Seems we're making some progress.">Feels good man!
> Head up the stairs and keep an eye out for red trails.
> Turn to Satori. "Sorry for asking this, but can you hear any other thoughts right now besides ours?"
> Do another quick sweep of the camera feeds.
>Have we heard or seen any indication of those things without hearts since we arrived?>You have not, though that small thing that was travelling along the red trail was rather strange.
Your posts are as empty as your soul!
>It looks like nothing might be here then...>Who knows?
>Check around the walls for some hidden passages or something.
>Can we see from the feeds a path to the second floor?>You are currently on the second level.
>"I'm going to assume none of us can break through the floor, but if anyone can, let me know."
>Make no assumptions about the trail ending just yet.
>Can we still see that red trail thing from feeds still?>You look at the feeds again to see that the trail appears to have disappeared.
>Check ceiling for clues.
>This place is really eerie...>Really, really eerie...
>Won't get anywhere if we just stand here! Check what's behind the door nearest to us.
>Try to find the red-trail again.>You decide to look for the trail you saw earlier.
>Turn to Satori.
>"Really? Can you tell where it's coming from? Can you hear anything they're saying?"
>"Try to read their hearts or, ah, whatever it is that you do...">"I think it's coming from below us."
>Try to look for a way down, a staircase an off panel anything!>You recall seeing a stairway leading down in one of the feeds.
> Get ahead of the object and follow the trail. This is what we've been waiting for!>You pick up your pace and get ahead of the strange object.
>Is that trail made out of... blood?did she seriously not notice this i mean what else would the red trail be red tape or something
>Follow the trail!
>Check: How old is the trail?>You'd guess that the trail has been around for two hours, at most.
>Follow it.
>"Satori, can you get a read on their hearts from here?"
Also, THAT AVATARSign this contract, and I can fix Gensokyo make everyone happy.
>You'd guess that the trail has been around for two hours, at most.
>You head down the stairs and through the doorway, following the trail into a small corridor.
>The satori does not respond.
>The satori is still standing at the top of the stairs, with a terrified expression on her face.
>"What's wrong? Has something happened to Okuu?!"
>"What's wrong? Has something happened to Okuu?!"
>"Satori! What is it? What's wrong?"After this, if Okuu is still alive, while running:
>"The voice. Where is it? What's going on?"
>Be prepared to run if Satori does or points to wherever it is; this could be VERY urgent!
>Taste red trail when you get the chance.> Probably safer to smell it. Don't want to contract something from nuclear hell raven blood.
>Taste red trail when you get the chance.
> Probably safer to smell it. Don't want to contract something from nuclear hell raven blood.>You aren't quite sure if this is the time, nor the place to develop an appreciation for blood. Do you wish to follow through on this?
>Senses check: What can we smell or hear which is out of the ordinary, besides the blood?>There is a strange smell coming from within the corridor. You aren't quite sure what would cause such a smell.
>"Satori? Answer me, What do you hear?!"
>"Satori! What is it? What's wrong?">The satori takes a quick moment to compose herself.
>"The voice. Where is it? What's going on?"
>Maybe someone hurt Utusho or something?
>Be prepared to run if Satori does or points to wherever it is; this could be VERY urgent!>It seems like something happened to the hell raven.
> Bloody hell! No time for smelling or tasting the damn trail. Follow the trail to the end, preferably at top speed!
>forget about the blood.>You have far more pressing matters to attend to right now!
>SHIT! pursue at maximum speed!
> Stomp back to the kappa.>Where do you want to search for the kappa?
> "I think it's about damn time you explained yourself."
>Where do you want to search for the kappa?>Kappa later.
>_
> We passed her right? I think we did at least... If we did, go back to where we passed her in the corridor.
> If we didn't: "NITORI! Get the hell out here!"
>Kappa later.>You have not seen Nitori.
>How many wires are in Utsuho and where are they all connected to?
>Is she still breathing, or having her breathing assisted?
>Does it look safe to remove her from the liquid?
>"Satori, Jam the door open. Make sure nothing can stop us getting out once we're done here."
> "As hard as it is to say this... I think it's for the best we don't act hastily."
> Point out the wires to Orin.
> "It'd probably be bad if we disconnected those right now."
EDIT: It's getting late here, so I'll have to retire. Kasu, if you don't like my current plan, feel free to post negating the idea. I won't be able to see this to the end, but godspeed. No need as your expansion is perfect. We need to get to Nitori soon due to our time restraints.
> "As hard as it is to say this... I think it's for the best we don't act hastily.">"But Okuu! Okuu is right here! She's right in front of me!"
> Point out the wires to Orin.
> "It'd probably be bad if we disconnected those right now."
>"Satori. I need to know if you read Nitori on our way down here and, if so, exactly where she was and what she was thinking. In either case, stay here with Utsuho-I'm going to find answers.">You feel helpless as you watch the kasha cry, and soon the satori enters the room.
> Hug Orin.>You crouch down and hug the kasha.
> "Don't worry. Me and Satori will do everything we can."
> Try and comfort Orin for as long as we can. Only break off the hug if things seem to get violent from Satori's end.
> Rub Orin's back. Gotta make sure she has a good cry.>Rin continues to cry, until she eventually runs out of tears and goes limp in your arms.
> Keep alert for anything unusual that may occur from the room.
> Pray that Satori doesn't do anything rash considering we can't check the feeds right now.
> Remaining time.
> Sigh and move Rin to a comfortable position.>You sit the kasha against the hell raven's display.
> Look up at Nitori.
> Once Satori comes out, ask what happened.
> "W-wha...">What the hell is going on now?
> Head into the room and pray that nothing bad has happened...
> "S-Satori?! What's going on?!">"Nothing at all."
>Eye Satori for a moment, then glance back at the Kappa.>Nitori has left your field of vision.
>"... is she safe?" (to have around)
>And are YOU safe, for that matt--fuck
>"... the laugh is scaring me."
>"Yes, you do. But before that, I'm going to have a private word with you...for both your friend's sakes." Lead her in the direction of Nitori. If she follows, find somewhere private and proceed as written below. If not, see what she has to say.>"Hmm?"
> "Obviously if there was no hope for Utsuho, your friend wouldn't be in that chamber she is now."
>"Firstly, you do realize that, right now, the dear Kappa there is the only chance we have of retrieving your friend, right?"
>"I'll assume no. Secondly, did you leaver her in a state where she could do something to fix this? I have a list of grudges myself which I will someday, like you, seek vengeance upon with neither remorse or regret. However, what I will be considering, is how the people around are going to be affected by their loss. That maybe, just maybe, it would be better to hold off that revenge if it meant something as petty as, oh, I don't know, saving the love of another friend's life."
>"Did you not see those chambers and think 'she may still be alive'? Because if you did, which I admit I am doubtful of considering your laugh, then good. If not, the final pieces of Rin's heart may have irrevocably shattered."
>"I swear Satori, if the next things I hear from the Kappa's direction are *skcktch*, 'aaarrrrggghh' splat or anything else indicating a suicide on Nitori's part, I'm not going to be the one to tell Rin to cut the life support. Now, I'm not sure about you, but I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that there is at least some hope for -Okuu, was her nickname?- When I get back, I want a word-for-word written transcript of exactly what you said to the Kappa. Now go comfort Rin, we can discuss rewards later."
>Head in the direction where the Kappa left off. Prepare to intercept any attempts on her own life, or setting things on fire, or anything like that. If/when we find her, call her.
I'm torn between beating the fuck out of Satori. That or just getting her to tell us what she said to Nitori, And just going to Nitori.Probably not the best to beat Satori considering the situation. I am starting to think we should go after Nitori though.
Probably not the best to beat Satori considering the situation. I am starting to think we should go after Nitori though.Well, Satori likely wouldn't let us go after Nitori. In which case we'd have to beat her down just in case. Either way, All for going for Nitori?
Well, Satori likely wouldn't let us go after Nitori. In which case we'd have to beat her down just in case. Either way, All for going for Nitori?I'm fine with it, but lets try to see if she'll let us go peacefully first.
All of that's good, but the only problem is that Rin is unresponsive right now. She's more or less lost it at the moment.
- If we beat up to Satori, how are we going to get paid? Should we search the labs afterwards or anything we can give to Reimu as payment?
- Satori really doesn't want us to follow Nitori, who had the whole support system set up. Something about that, as well as her unwillingness to talk, makes me suspicious.
- Something about the way Satori acted regarding pay makes me suspect she is going to try and off us.
- Why would the wires still be connected if Okuu was truly unsaveable? I know that Satori soft confirmed this, but this is Satori we're talking bout.
- I can almost guarantee that Satori has sent Nitori to her doom-stopping this is a top priority.
- When we get the chance, we ma want speak to Rin. We could do with her angle on this.
Alrighty then.
>"No, I'm going to her."
>Follow the Kappa.
>"No, I'm going to her.">"I really do think it would be in our best interests to leave her alone for the time being."
>Follow the Kappa.
Called it guys. Should we attempt to get out of her grip and get to the kappa, or should we just beat Satori up? We can safely assume with our speed she wont be able to catch up, But I personally want to kick her ass a few times over just because she's a bitch. She is not going to let go, that much she made clear. However, if we engage in combat for too long, there is a high chance that She'll pull on us whatever she did to Nitori. More importantly, she's a mind reader, so we need to act stat.
Thoughts?
>Check:Can we still see Nitori?
>"I'm sorry."
>Grab her eye, and use your speed to ram it hard into the wall, hoping to paralyze Satori with pain.
>"I'll be leaving now." Head in Nitori's direction.
Unless you want to add to this.
So..haven't been here for a few pages.
Update me on what has/is happening?
>We found Okuu. She's all wired up, though, and is currently unresponsive.
>Rin has broken down and is crying because of this.
>Satori has done something to Nitori, which is making her look blank and god knows what else. We have yet to speak to Nitori.
>We're trying to save Nitori, but Satori is holding us back.
>Satori, we believe, is now crazy.
Well, my solution would be a lot less likely to deal lasting damage. That's a good point too... We could always yell really loudly in our mind as well considering satoris seem to be weak to that sort of thing due to their sensitivity.
Slam her 3rd Eye into the wall, and you risk making her worse than she is.
My solution is to not even think, and just slam a fist into her gut.
I know it's a cliche method to get someone out of the way, but I'm also talking from experience. A good punch to the guy will disable a person for a bit.
Even if she's a youkai too, so what? We are too. We can hit hard enough, because Tengu are generally seen as one of the stronger sorts of youkai.
So, All in favour of landing a cheap shot and booking it to Nitori? We are a tengu, And tengu are fast.
So, All in favour of landing a cheap shot and booking it to Nitori? We are a tengu, And tengu are fast.Yeah. Not really sure how to do the cheap shot though so I'll leave that up to you folks.
>Attempt to get out of Satori's grip again.>You try to pull away from the satori again, but the satori seems adamant in keeping you where you are.
>Doesnt work? Well We've gotta to get to the fucking kappa already and let go satori letgoletgoletgoLETGOLETGOGODDAMMITLET GO
>You try to pull away from the satori again, but the satori seems adamant in keeping you where you are.
>You're going to see Nitori now, and this satori isn't going to stop you.
>"I beg to differ."
>_
> Where is Satori holding us right now?>She is holding onto your left arm.
P.s. Dormio, is Satori reading just our inputs, or the out-of-character thoughts as well?Only inputs.
>Tense your left arm, make it shake. Prepare to back hand her with it.
>Think 'I'm sorry, Satori. But just this once, I'm afraid your advice is useless.' in time with speech and actions below.
>"I'm sorry, Satori. But just this once -draw camera with right camera- I'm afraid -flash her third eye- your advice is useless -smash her head into wall-."
>"Remember, nothing is impossible in Gensyoko-you just have to try hard enough." Head for Nitori.
>Tense your left arm, make it shake. Prepare to back hand her with it.>You tense, and prepare to slap some sense into the satori.
>Run up to her and grab her, shake her back to her sense. At least enough so she can tell us something instead of being brainwashed or gods-knows-what been done to her.>You run up to Nitori and grab hold of her.
>How good is our backhand? Meh, Doesnt matter. Backhand her. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcstlUGuVPA)>You slap Nitori, hoping that it'll be enough to bring her back to her senses.
>"You. You know what I hate in a person? Someone like you. Satori said maybe one thing to you, And you just lose it instead or actually doing something. You're off to gods know where to do gods know what, and I'll be fucking damned twice over if you're just going to sit on your ass and cry about your life. Now. You are going to fix what you started, Or Lord Tenma help me I will kick your ass all the way to the outside world and fucking back.">Nitori stares at you while you lecture her.
If it doesn't work the first time, you try again. If violence isn't solving all of your problems, you simply aren't using enough of it.
Except with more force.
>Nitori stares at you while you lecture her.
>Once you're done, she picks herself up again slowly and begins to walk away.
>_
>Grab Nitori again, hug her, say [someone else say something apologetic and heartwarming here], maybe give her a kiss. See if she reacts, and how.
>If she's still a blank state, this would confirm that it's do do with Satori's eye, more than anything else.
>Take her hand, lead her to the (hopefully) still-out-of-it Satori.
>Poke Satori's eye gently till it shuts.
If violence isn't solving all of your problems, you simply aren't using enough of it.Would help if we applied the explosion where the problems actually were, amirite :V?
As the size of an explosion approches infinity, the number of problems it can't solve approaches zero. :V
> Grab Nitori again and hug her. See if she reacts, and how.>You grab Nitori to hug her. She tries to push you away weakly.
> If nothing of note happens, try kissing her.
> If there is still no reaction, take her hand, lead her to the (hopefully) still-out-of-it Satori.
>"i-i'm not hugging you b-because i l-like you or a-anything!"
>Guess we should apologize about snapping at her huh...
>By should I mean will. Like right now. Seriously Hatate, Get your head in the game man. Stop speaking in third person tWHYAREYOUTALKINGTOYOURSELFHi usually works.
Seriously I cant think up a good thing for Hatate to say, to be honest. So dormio should do it instead because the voter(s) said so~
>By should I mean will. Like right now. Seriously Hatate, Get your head in the game man. Stop speaking in third person tWHYAREYOUTALKINGTOYOURSELF>You feel the need to apologize, to Nitori. Like right now.
>"Sorry for snapping at you like that. But seriously, whats wrong? You just seem... blank, I guess. Whatever you did, as long as you can like fix it, it'd be okay.">You hear a small whisper.
>like oh my gawd she just like killed that poor little birdieeee like what a meanie she should like redeem herself or something like OMGASH MY BFF TEXTED ME <3333
>"The second somethings got no point is the second you're dead. And unless you're somehow like one of those creepy zombie fairies, I think there's still a point. I'm willing to help you get back on your feet, You just gotta tell me whats wrong.">"Everything..."
>ponder murdering the parser
>Do we have any knowledge or any idea what Nitori could be so glum about?
>What kind of things did she do?
>Make a mental note that when Satori gets up, and if she has anything to do with this, She'll wish she was dead.
>JAM IT IN>What are you trying to jam, and where?
>"Will that's pretty vague; you have to start explaining from somewhere. I can't help you otherwise.">"... Help... Far beyond help..."
>"Hell, let us start with Utsuho. What happened to her and why is she in there?"
>Force her back into eyesight; don't let go!Add before the quote:
>"Ok, I want an actual line out of you. Why is she in there? Tell me what is going on."
>Force her back into eyesight; don't let go!
>"No one is beyond help. No one. If you can't believe in yourself, then believe in the me who believes in the you."
>"Ok, I want an actual line out of you. Why is she in there? Tell me what is going on.">You grab hold of Nitori, you are not going to let her go.
>"Yes, I know that. But you're not telling me why she is IN THERE! Surely you wouldn't put her in there if you weren't going to do something to her.">"Pointless... Completely meaningless..."
>Shake her a bit; not too much, but at least make it hard.
>"What were you planning on doing? And what did Satori do or say to you in there?"
>If she only answers in a couple of words again, slap her; followed by...
>"I'm trying to HELP you here!"
>"Look, We've all done horrible things. For all I know everyone in this god damned world could be a murderer. Everyone has our dark secrets, Dont let them hold you back.">Nitori shakes her head.
>Comforting hug.
>"Could you at least speak more then one word sentences?">You see Nitori begin to mouth something before she stops.
> Grit teeth.>This is seriously pissing you off.
> "What did Satori do to you. You have to tell me."
> "Please NItori. This is the only way I can help you. If you tell me, we can try and fix this. Together.">"...Can't fix..."
> "Come on Nitori! How can I save you!">"Only..."
> "You don't have to die! Everything will be fine as long as you can fix this! Hell, I'll even help! It'll be a bit more bearable even with only two people right?">"Can't fix..."
>"We dont have to fix, at least try.">"No point..."
> Get close to Nitori's face and stare into her eyes.>You bring yourself closer to Nitori and stare into her eyes. Nitori looks back with an empty expression.
> "Nitori. I need you to focus here and listen to me. Don't you ever let anyone tell you that you should kill yourself or anything like that. You. Are. Not. Worthless. You might be the only one who can fix this mess and restore Gensokyo back to the way it was. Sure, people are obviously going to hate you for your past deeds, but the main thing is that people know you're actually trying to fix things, and even then...
> Smile.
> "... there are people like me who know that and will support you from now on as you work to rectify this. You don't have to do it alone."
> "Hatate Himekaidou. Came with a satori and kasha looking for a hell raven. Got in here through the entrance and I'm holding you 'cause I'm assuming the satori did something weird to you and you looked like you were gonna kill yourself."
>"Because you went all depressed and shit on me. I'm here to help you in whatever you need. Seems like you were brainwashed or something, I dont know.">"Hatate... Himekaido..."
>"What was the last thing you remember doing?"
> Yeah... We've got a bit of explaining to do.>You sure do. Not to mention that it seems kind of awkward to be holding her this close.
> Good point. Back off a bit.>You let go of Nitori, and you both back away from each other at the same time.
> "I don't know the specifics, but I'm pretty sure Miss Third-Eye probably had something to do with it. As for the hell raven? Well... I kinda know that she SEEMS dead but she's locked in that thing right now. I also know that she's been missing awhile too so yeah..."
>"If I really wanted to harm you, I would'va when you were all blank like that. Hell, I kicked the ass of the one person who could give me something to help Aya just because I wondered 'What the hell is happening to that kappa?' So, What are these things you have to do?">"I don't know what you're talking about when you keep saying that I was 'blank'."
> "I really do believe you're one of the only people who can fix this whole mess that Gensokyo is in. The only thing I'm actually planning to do is come up with some money to pay the shrine maiden with since I've got less than three hours by now...">"Of course I can."
>"I came here because I found information on the hell Raven and some people were going to pay me good money in order to locate and retrieve the Hell Raven. Speaking of which, reviving her is the first thing on your 'fix everything' list, bonus prize if you can do it in the next two hours.">"That doesn't tell me who else is here."
>"Before I appeared, what's the last thing you remember?"
>"Fine, let me rephrase that: What time was it when you started thinking, and do you have ANY GAPS in your memory? This is kinda important you know.">"Well, I'm still wondering when and how you got in here. And why you were holding me."
>Ask about those heartless things that Satori mentioned before they might end up being problematic in the near future.>"Heartless? What are you talking about?"
Is there any reason why we're talking in circles and not straight out tell her about who else came with us? o_oBecause I can't read :V
>Didn't we let go of Nitori a while back?>You did.
>Wait... this isn't the same Nitori we were speaking to before, is it?
>Cautiously explain "The Hell's raven two friends, Rin and Satori, are here. You should probably explain to them how you plan on reviving and saving the Hell Raven. Because if you don't, they'll kill you. And then, you won't be able to fix anything."
>Curiously ask "On the subject of fixing everything, how do you plan to start?"
> "As for how we got in here, I already told you. We walked through the entrance and some of your panel things weren't working right so we pushed them out of the way to gain further access. As for when? I'd say less than an hour ago at least.">"But you shouldn't have been able to get in in the first place."
> "Well if it helps, your two assistants seemed to be in quite the hurry on their way out.">Nitori eyes you with suspicion again.
> Might as well come clean.>You decide there's no point in hiding where you got your information from.
> Flip open our phone and show Nitori the camera feeds.
> "I've been talking to you. And either way, it's not like I can do a whole lot with the info anyway...">"Well, we're both busy people. And if that's all you're doing, I'd prefer for you to leave so I can get back to work."
> "Also the other two are in the room with the hell raven... Though it's not like they can really do much."
> Follow after her.>You chase after Nitori, praying that neither the satori or the kasha have touched anything they shouldn't have.
> Hope to any deity that'll listen that they haven't touched anything.
>Wait. Satori isnt here? Oh god.>You knocked her out in the connected room, hopefully she's still there. Hopefully.
> "Uh... There were. The satori must have woken up. As for the kasha... I think her world fell apart after she saw the hell raven.">"Then where is she now?"
> "Yeah that's her name. Actually wait, maybe the satori is still here.">"Shit... Damn it. Damn it all!"
> Check the connected room quickly.
>It was the only way.>You reassure yourself that you didn't really have a choice.
>I think.
>Is she okay? Because I really really really dont want to be a murderer.
> Yell back out: "Nevermind. She's still here!">You yell out to inform Nitori that the satori is still down here.
> Might want to drag her out into the main room so we can keep tabs on her.
> Probably for the best if we move her...>It can't hurt any more than leaving her here, anyway.
> Carefully cradle her head though and try to carry her as delicately as possible.
>"She wanted me to let you kill yourself, and this was the only thing I could think of at the time.">"Huh? So you're saying you did that? Didn't you come here with her?
>What is Nitori doing?
> "You know, I don't think I have the slightest idea anymore. Too much crap has happened today.">Nitori sighs as she gets back up.
> "Hah... Whatever. Need me to provide lodging for these two or are you gonna keep 'em here?">"I'd prefer to keep this one-"
>"Promise not to do anything to her?">"Reputations are hard to fix, aren't they?"
CONFLICTION.
Okay. Should we keep Satori and Rin here? Or should we bring them with us? Or should we just leave Rin here? Honestly, I don't really want Satori to start screwing with Nitori again, and Satori will probably freak out if we leave Rin here...
The fact that everyone thinks Nitori is dead means no one comes around the lab, Which means that we wont have to pay Reimu. Now all we have to do is move Aya to the lab, And hopefully nothing will go wrong.
Just my two cents though.
Chekhov's gunIn b4 Aya's "hallucogenics" or the optic camo suit allow Reimu to spy on everyone :v
The only problem is moving in there is comparable to moving to another country to avoid rent. Only the people who want their rent, want it badly. If Reimu finds us, and we havent paid her, We are going to die, and that would be all she wrote. We just have to hope to god Reimu doesnt find it, then s'all good.We could always fake our death. :3
We could always fake our death. :3
Well I guess the first order of business would be to actually ask Nitori. So if there are no objections, we should probably get that out of the way and go from there.
>"Actually, I'm kinda in need of a new place to stay right now, so how about all of us stay for now?"
>"Actually, I'm kinda in need of a new place to stay right now, so how about all of us stay for now? I could always take care of stuff that you might too busy with and here is better anyway because of Aya's current condition.">"I guess it doesn't matter, as long as you don't get in my way."
>"The fact that I've no money to pay that shrine maiden either, and I just hurt my very client... Yeah, If Reimu finds me, I'm as good as dead.">"You've told me that already."
>"I'm more then willing to help you out with anything though!"
>"She was going crazy, It was self defense."
>What ARE we good at, anyways?modelling?
>"She was going crazy, It was self defense.">"Just put her down somewhere so I can take a look at her."
>could we effectively run the paper from our new, temporary base?>On a very small scale, yes.
>What ARE we good at, anyways?modelling?
>You are among the fastest in all Gensokyo. As a tengu, you have above average physical strength. As a youkai, you are much more durable than a human.Last I heard, we were still virgins :V

> We could probably act as a secretary or an assistant and write up lab reports or something.>You probably could.
> "Well I could probably act as a secretary or assistant or something. Maybe write things up you don't have time to write up as well.">"Assistant... Well, I guess that's a start."
> DO we know anything about science?>You do not, though you wonder how hard it would be to learn.
> "Honestly... I don't know a whole lot about science in general... I'm sure I could learn enough to be useful though if you give me the chance!">"Well, we'll see."
>"Is there any way for you to take care of Aya, since.... well, It's better if you see her yourself. I know you arent a doctor, it's just that I cant handle seeing her like that...">"Well, I can try."
>we can offer nitori our body as well
>"Yeah, I guess so.">Offer your hand to shake on it.
>"Yeah, I guess so."
>Offer your hand to shake on it.>"I guess we'll work out the specifics later, but right now you have a debt to pay, right? How much is it?">"If you are willing, let us begin the first steps*evilface*...to saving the WORLD.
>and getting all the hookers and blackjack we can count
>"Three grand if I can live in hiding or fake my own death. If I cant, I'd also have to pay two hundred bucks more to that shrine maiden.">"... How do you even rack up that much debt?"
> "I have to pay it in about two hours. Yeah... I know."
>"Momizi paid for Aya's expenses when I couldn't, And she wants her money back. I only have to get that shrine maidens money back in two hours.">"All of it?"
>Salute>It's rather hard to salute with the satori still in your arms.
>"On it boss!"
>How much money do we think Nitori makes anyways?
>You have no idea. How does she even make money in the first place?>Put the matter aside for now-discuss it later.
>Put the matter aside for now-discuss it later.>This probably isn't the time to be worried about things like that.
>Suggest Nitori find somewhere safe to wait in case either the Satori or the Kasha attack, but try to be tactful about it.
>Check:What did we do with those pearls we were supposed to deliver for the spider youkai?
> Set Satori down gently.>You place the satori against a wall, taking care as you do so.
> "Uh... You probably already know this, but it might be best to have somewhere safe to hide or something in case the satori or kasha decide they want to attack you after they wake up."
> Follow Nitori.>You follow Nitori through the laboratory to the first level.
> "So are there any places I should check for your assistants? Like a favourite hangout or something?"
> "That narrows it down then. I'll get on that after I make my payment. Er... Thanks again for helping me out with this.">"You're not going to be of that much use to me if you're tied down to other things."
>"Also, before I forget, you said not to 'force them back.' I have to ask... Did you do something to them?">Nitori looks uncomfortable as you ask her this.
> "Alright then. I'll do that."
> Take the envelope.
>"Thanks,">Nitori nods as you take the envelope from her.
>Quick check-do we have everything we need?
>If so, head out the laboratory.
> If no trouble arises at the shrine, Take to the air by the youkai mountain and look for two kappa.>Keep an eye out for Momiji, try to avoid her if at all possible.
>Keep an eye out for Momiji, try to avoid her if at all possible.>You make a note to yourself to avoid Momiji. Though, you wonder about the effectiveness of keeping an eye out, considering that Momiji is renowned for her exceptional vision, even amongst tengu.
> Take to the air and head for the Hakurei Shrine first. Best to get the payment out of the way early.>You decide that it's probably in your best interests to pay off the Hakurei Maiden before you start searching for someone.
> If no trouble arises at the shrine, Take to the air by the youkai mountain and look for two kappa.>The two women bow towards you before they return to sweeping the grounds as you walk across the grounds to the offertory box.
> Quickly glance back at the person who may be Kisume.>You take another look at the other green haired girl, and she looks back at you with sad eyes.
> Head back to the Mountain and touch down in Kappa Town.
> Look around for any kappa that look like Nitori's assistants.>You walk around kappa town, and as you do you think you hear some rubble shifting to your left.
> What happened here anyway?
> Check out the rubble cautiously.>You head towards the sound to see two similar looking kappa sitting against a wall. One of them appears to be asleep. You're relatively certain that these two were the kappa you saw inside the laboratory.
> What happened to the refugees?
>When we have a moment, add the following side-quest:>You make a note to yourself to tell the spider youkai that you may have found Kisume when you get the chance.
>BEHIND BLUE EYES: We believe we have found Kisume. The Spider-youkai will need to know about this.
>Ignoring the fact her eyes may not be blue, continue looking for Nitori's assistants.
>Come out straight with it: "Nitori wants you to come back. If you want to come back or not, Either way she say's she's as sorry as she can be, and she regrets it, but wants to make up for it. Hell, She was in a completely depressed state when I got there.">You turn around again to face the two kappa.
>Okay, So the depressed part isnt entirely true, But its close enough.
> "Hatate Himekaidou. Needless to say, circumstances will have me working for Nitori until she fixes this whole mess. I owe her quite a bit right now for helping me">"And what kind of circumstances would have you working for her?"
>"When I say depressed, I mean she seemed ready to die before I knocked some sense back into her. In all honesty, she needs you both right now.">"The Professor wants to die?"
>"Woah, woah! Calm down for a second.">You tell the pair to calm down, and they stop arguing for the time being.
>"It was... complicated. It wasn't her choice, if you will. Someone made her want to kill herself."
>"It's not my place to ask about why, even though I want to. But she probably wouldn't have asked for you both if there wasn't a reason; or something important."
> "The circumstances were that she paid my debt to the shrine maiden for me.">"So, basically, you're just an employee of hers."
> "Just so you know, I'm gonna be staying here until I get an answer as to whether you two come back or not."
> Sigh.>Why can't people just get their acts together?
> Look around a bit while they argue.
>"Well, She's offering to help out my best friend whos in a coma, but other then that I dont know.">"She's a good person, see?"
> "The hell raven seems to be in some sort of glass cylinder right now. All I know is that she apparently went on a rampage or something and Nitori took her down. She's trying to make sure that the raven doesn't die right now. For the record, it'll be best if I get back there soon because I... kind of helped the satori and kasha break into the lab before I actually met Nitori.">"The Professor is trying to save her, see she's good!"
> "Well... Technically Nitori was acting in self-defense. The camera feeds at the time showed the hell raven on some kind of rampage so... yeah.">"So trying to kill someone is fine, as long as it's in self-defense?"
> Sigh again.>Some people...
> "Look. I'm probably fighting a losing battle here, but you two have been her assistants for awhile right? Right now Nitori is trying to fix the mess she created and you two obviously have more knowledge about both her personally, and science in general. With just me, the fix is going to take longer and I honestly won't be of much use until I learn more. Don't you want to help bring Gensokyo back to he way it was originally? Granted, it'll never be quite the same, but can't you at least try to help us?"
> Well it's better than nothing.>Progress is always nice.
> "Is it okay if we stop at my home first? I have to get Aya."
> We can carry her right?
> Actually... Are the kappa even welcome where we live?
> "Ah... Actually I'll meet you two back here. I'm really sorry, but I don't want to put you in danger...">"Whatever, we'll be waiting around here then."
> If all is well, head back home and get Aya.
> Get Aya as well as any other important things and head back to the two kappa.>You watch Momiji for a while. She appears to be standing guard there, you wonder why.
> Keep an eye out for Momiji.
> "Dammit.">You curse a bit. Can't things go your way, just once?
> Pick up the pace a bit.
We're a tengu. We outspeed white wolf tengus, And outclass them as well. But:While carrying Aya and everything else? I don't think we have oni strength.
>Do we know any of the tengu?
I'm thinking pull a batman; swing in, grab them, swing out in the span of 3 seconds.
I have an idea. That could work. I guess the only thing we'll have to worry about is a dented reputation for helping kappa and Momiji happening upon the scene.
We can pass Aya off to them, and have them take her to Nitori's, while we hold the dunce brigade at bay.
Your idea will most likely not work for a lot of reasons. For one, it's common knowledge that we run a newspaper against Aya, or used to. Our name is most likely pretty popular, so we cant really prove these two are bound to us without showing some sort of slave contract. The only opinions I can see are telling the three white wolves to fuck off, snatch the two kappa, or beat the white wolves down to the ground.
That gives me an Idea-we COULD say that the Kappa are, in fact, under slave contract of someone else, who has sadly passed on as of two days ago. We're 'borrowing' them in order to conduct an interview with them about Kappas in general. That would spread the word that we're doing this big article, which could be good for our income. This seems like the most solid idea so far. As long as slave-kappa don't keep some sort of owner identification on them it might work.
If they still persist, then we'll have to use our talents to take them out-but speed is a priority. Momiji=bad.
>Do we know any of the tengu?
>Do we know any of the tengu?>You do not.
>Is one of them Momiji?
>"Hey, what are you doing?"
>Are any of them male?Sounds good to me.
>Land in front of the Kappa
>"Maybe some other time."
>Clarify, saying "Their previous owner died two days ago, but the widow's let me interview them for the paper on Kappa culture before, during and after... you know, that from their perspective." Hope neither of the kappa say any different.
>Twirl...something. "Of course, this kind of opportunity is hard to come by nowadays, so I'm afraid you're not gonna beat on anything until I'm done conducting my interview with the two Kappa. And, of course, I can't conduct any interviews while you're there scaring my interviewees. So how about you go back to that bar in the centre of town and try again later?"
>Think: Why would they be here?
>Are any of them male?>Two of the tengu are male.
>"An interviews best with a clear mind, And no matter who it is, I'm pretty sure a beatdown wouldn't leave a clear mind.">"Huh? You trying to defend these pieces of shit or something?"
>"It's money that I need? The better the interview, the more buyers, even if its only one more. I personally dont care what you do to them later, but right now I've got to get my money for the Shrine Maiden.">"And who the hell is going to pay to read about a kappa?"
>Well, we do care about them, but they would just flip out more if they knew that.
> Does anyone care about Tenma anymore, and is he even still around?>Lord Tenma is still a prominent figure within the Tengu Village. However, he no longer holds the authority he once had.
Actually, Hanzo gave me an idea...I'm so down with this i dont even know which way is up, lets do it.
Maybe we can try approaching them casually and then taking the closest two and knocking their heads together. :3
> Are two of the three tengu close enough that we could conk their heads together if we got close enough?>If you could get close enough, you probably could. Getting close may prove to be a problem, though.
Say that we're leaving, walk inbetween the guys, turn around and smash some skulls and book it out of there with Aya and the Kappa?
Looking back on my plan, there's one giant flaw: Has anyone heard of a Youkai who gets knocked out after a hit to the head?Considering it's a youkai doing this to two other youkai we might be able to pull it since we have our youkai strength.
> Take a couple steps towards the tengu and gauge their reaction>You take a few steps towards the tengu.
appear
> Wait until we're absolutely sure they're leaving.>Two of the tengu give you a short glare before they leave.
> If they do end up leaving, go the two kappa and apologize profusely for the things we said.
>"Do you need some help up?">"Are you deaf? Didn't I just say I was fine?"
>catch her, but let go after straightening her while being ready to catch her again>You move to catch her, rushing to her before she hits the floor.
>"Okay, That's it. You're coming with me, weither you like it or not. You need medical attention.">The injured kappa says nothing in response.
>Are we still carrying Aya? If not, start carrying her back to the lab with Yuuko and Fuuko.
> Head to the lab quickly, but at the same time keep an eye out to ensure we aren't being followed.>Fortunately, the skies seem to be clear for now, at least.
>"Probably best avoid the Kappa village for a while-well, a while longer than usual, anyway.">"What did sis ever do?! Why would they even do something like this?!"
>Consider the possibilities of recruiting both the Satori and the Kappato fight crime
>"She did nothing. However, Racism boosted to an extreme after what happened, with Tengu's hating Kappa's for some reason or whatever. All I know is that its stupid and completely illogical."
> "Your sister didn't do anything. After the border fell there was massive backlash against the kappa once people found out that Nitori was the cause and things went to hell after that for your race.">"It's not fair! Sis doesn't deserve this!"
>Try to get to the lab as fast as possible via flying.>You keep flying, and soon you see the entrance to the laboratory.
>Go in hurry, her sister needs a doctor! Hopefully Nitori counts as one though...>Come on! The lab is right there! Faster, faster, faster!
> Head inside and pray that Satori hasn't woken up yet.>You should have knocked the satori out for a few hours. Hopefully.
>You should have knocked the satori out for a few hours. Hopefully.>Let Nitori do what she needs to do- look for somewhere relatively safe to set up Aya and her belongings.
>_
>Let Nitori do what she needs to do- look for somewhere relatively safe to set up Aya and her belongings.>You decide that it would be best not to disturb Nitori and search for somewhere to put Aya by yourself.
>A few hours-how hard, roughly, did we hit her?
>Consider what the Tengus said earlier-how far away is Nitori's lab from the Kappa village?
> After getting Aya situated, look around for Nitori.>You leave Aya for the time being and go back to the room you saw Nitori enter.
> Enter the room and observe silently.>You quietly enter the room and close the door behind you.
>Follow.>You follow Nitori out of the room, and she closes the door as the two of you leave.
>"How long before she makes a recovery?"
>If asked, explain what happened in the Kappa village.
> Shrug.>Nitori sighs.
> "After a bit of an exchange I took a couple steps towards them and they just left. It'll probably be for the best if I lay low for a while though."
>do we?>You do!
>If we do, take it out and offer it to Nitori.
>"Here it is."
> "I set her up in one of the unused rooms.">"You wanted me to take a look at her, right?"
> If she wishes, lead Nitori to the room.
> Observe.>You watch Nitori as she checks Aya.
> While we're at it, check the contents of the envelope.
Question: Should we explain what happened to Aya to Nitori?Probably. It'll help with a diagnosis.
I don't see a problem with it, but I just wanted to check the consensus.
> Well then...>You estimate that there is roughly $1000 in the envelope.
> Seems like we might be able to pay our debt to Momiji.
>"Overdosed on hallucogenics, went into a comatose. Mentioned something about...'How it used to be' before entering comatose. Heh*chuckle*, ain't it funny?">Nitori grimaces.
> "What? What did she OD on?">"It was something I made by accident."
> When did she overdose?>Roughly four months ago.
> "She overdosed roughly four months ago. When did you finish the drug?">"I'd need to check my notes for the exact date, but I think it was either a month or two ago."
>Make a move to lightly grab Nitori's hand, unless she's busy.>You take hold of Nitori's hand as she turns to leave.
>"Nitori, when you're going through those notes...just...remember you're gonna fix this, alright?"
>That said, check up on Orin.
>Make a move to lightly grab Nitori's hand, unless she's busy.Probably best to wait a bit longer.
>"Nitori, when you're going through those notes...just...remember you're gonna fix this, alright?"
>That said, check up on Orin.
Afterwoods, should we go see Yamane or wait a bit to avoid the Tengu?
> Sigh in relief. Seems like she might be getting over this a bit.>Hopefully, anyway.
> That said, wander around the other rooms in the area and see if we can find Satori.
>Approach carefully, hoping not to wake her.>You quietly step into the Satori's room.
>If she doesn't wake, pick her up gently and put her in a room next to Rin's.
>Leave a note, explaining what's happened up to date.
> Quietly leave the room and check on the two kappa.>You decide that there isn't much else to do down here and go to check up on the two kappa.
> "It's no problem. Sorry again for saying what I did though.">The kappa shrugs.
> "Well... Originally I came here with the Kasha and the Satori to break out the Hell Raven, but things went to hell after the Satori brainwashed Nitori into thinking that she'd be better off dead. It eventually ended up that I knocked the Satori out and managed to snap Nitori back to her senses. Even despite the fact that I was technically an intruder with a giant debt, she allowed me to stay when I asked her and she even helped with my debt to Reimu and was also willing to help with my friend's coma. That's pretty much my situation in a nutshell. I guess you could say that Nitori more or less saved my life.">"So she really is changing, huh?"
> "Hatate Himekaidou. Not quite sure I caught yours either.">"I'm Fuuko, and this is my sister, Yuuko."
> "Likewise. I'm sure it'll be a pleasure working with you two.">"So, is there anything you want from us?"
> "Nope. Just wanted to check on you is all. Why?">"I was thinking of getting some more rest if you didn't need anything."
> "I'll take my leave then. Sorry for the disturbing you. It was nice meeting you though!">"It's fine. I'll introduce Yuuko properly next time."
> Leave.
> Wander around a bit to familiarize ourselves with the place.>You already know the basic layout of the laboratory, but you don't see any harm in wandering around to concrete this knowledge.
> Quests.
> Head to Nitori's room.>You head to the second floor and soon find Nitori's room.
> Knock.>You knock on the door and hear Nitori's voice from the other side.
> "Ah.">You open the door to see a rather large room. The large display in the centre, similar to the one housing the hell raven but smaller, catches your eye immediately.
> Open the door and walk in.
> "Um... I was wondering if I'd be able to do anything for you regarding Aya... Or anything else for that matter."
>"Ah. I'll leave you to it, then. By the way, do you know of any entrances out of here which don't pass too near the Kappa village?">'I'll let you know if I find something."
> "Ah, okay then. Just so you know I'll be going out for a bit to run a bit of an errand. I should be back soon if nothing holds me up.">"All right. Take care out there."
> Assuming nothing else happens, bid Nitori farewell, close the door, and head to the lab's entrance.
> Head for the Underground, but keep to any potential cover while still in the proximity of the Mountain. Don't want Momiji to find us at all.>You take flight, heading for the underground. You make sure to stay low and make use of cover when you can, you'd prefer to not run into a particular white wolf tengu along the way.
> Head inside.>You step inside the mouth of the cave, walking until you reach the area where you first met the spider youkai.
> Once we get near the place we met her originally, call out for Yamame.
> Wait until she's in sight.>You wait until you can see the spider youkai in front of you.
> "Yep. I have some news for you."
> "I'm not entirely sure, but when I was paying my debt to the shrine maiden, there was a girl there that looked how you had described her. Only problem is, it looked like she's been working under Reimu for awhile now.">"She was at the Hakurei Shrine? Why would she be there?"
> "Well... Lets just say that Reimu isn't exactly the best boss in the world and in her case, she was probably forced into working there for one reason or another.">"Forced?"
> "Well she didn't seem happy, but from what I could tell she seemed to be okay, so that's one less thing to worry about. As to why she's there? I've got no clue.">"If she isn't happy there, then she should come back."
> "That's where we have a problem. The shrine maiden is pretty scary and powerful, so if we were to take Kisume back, we'd have to do it secretly involving some sort of plan and we'd need a hiding place that doesn't involve the Underground as she would most likely come searching for her here first.">"I just want to hear her voice and see her smile again. She has the loveliest smile, you know."
> "Are you sure you're gonna be fine by yourself? It might be dangerous given the situation.">"I will only be going to visit, I am sure it will be fine."
> "W-well if you're that set on it... Just be careful okay?">"I will be fine."
> Guess we should let her do what she wants. If she does get caught, we should be able to free them once Nitori fixes everything.>You decide not to interfere with something that she wants to do. Besides, even if something were to happen to her, you can always help her out later.
> Pray to whatever god that'll listen that Yamame makes it out in one piece.
> Head back up.
> There don't seem to be any other outstanding things to do except pay back Momiji correct?>You don't have any responsibilities you need to take care of outside of Momiji's loan as far as you can remember.
> If that is indeed the case, head back to the lab.
> Damn iiiiiiiit.>You were almost back to the lab. So close.
> Head over.
> "Really? You don't hear about that too often.">"I know right? Ridiculous, isn't it?"
> It's okay... Just play it cool.
> Crap.>Even without the papers, word spreads fast, doesn't it?
> Well on the upside, at least she seems like one of the more rational ones.
> "Ah yeah... I hope I wasn't disturbing the peace or anything."
> "S-sorry... I've just been a bit on edge over all of the debt-stuff lately. Things seem to be looking up a bit though, for both me and Aya."
Incoming questions about our debt to her incoming.Actually yeah. Strike my entry and go with this.
>"I've yet to shake the feeling that things are going to change majorly-and soon."
>"But enough gloom. How have things been wi-wait. What do you mean by 'what am I trying to do?'"
>"I've yet to shake the feeling that things are going to change majorly-and soon.">"You know that's the roughly same the Nitori said before she went off the deep end, right?"
>"But enough gloom. How have things been wi-wait. What do you mean by 'what am I trying to do?'"
>"Maybe so; but I can assure you I won't be falling down there too.">You make sure to keep smiling to Momiji whilst you talk.
>"And don't worry; we're not in trouble. Aya's safe. I'm having her looked at to see if we can get her to herself again."
>Smile for the wolf; words mean nothing without it.
>"Trust me, Momiji; we're fine. Sorry for making you worry."
>Drop the smile-seriousness time.>You decide to adopt a more fitting expression for the current situation.
>"You keep comparing me to Nitori. I'm pretty sure that's an insult in some languages, if you catch my drift."
>"As regards to the change...I have gotten myself into nothing of the sort. But look around you. Every day, people are becoming more and more selfish, more and more willing to turn against their fellow resident of Gensyoko. With all the supplies of the old Gensyoko drying up, the desperate will rob us of our goods in order to survive in such a harsh environment. It's separated families and friend-in fact in my search for news I encountered one Youkai in the former hell who's best friend was somehow stuck working for the Hakurei maiden-and her friend hadn't the slightest clue until I told her just this afternoon! Yes, there have been resistance to her, and yes, they have been crushed. But that won't last forever. And the more desperate people are, the closer we come to Gensyoko swalllowing itself whole."
>"I am glad that I still know you, Momiji. You have always been a faithful and kind person, someone I can rely on. I plan to keep in touch if I can, I assure you, as much as I can. But, for everyone's stake, keep your guard up and your ever-perceptive eyes as open as possible."
>"I have to ask, but what started your suspicion, anyway?"
> What advantages do crow tengu have over wolf tengu physically?>Crow tengu in general are faster than the white wolf tengu, and this advantage is most apparent whilst in the air. What the white wolf tengu lack in speed though, they make up for in strength, and their speed on the ground is comparable to that of a crow tengu's.
> How close is Momiji?>Rather close, you'd estimate that there are around five meters between you.
>Who else, if anyone, is around?>There appears to be nobody in the skies but you and Momiji for now.
>Where is the nearest town/hospital from here?
>"Wait, what?"
>Let us not use the journalist line; I don't think it's needed.>"Then why can't you tell me what you're doing?"
>"Please Momiji; I'm not trying to cut ties. I'm trying to help in my own way. The last thing I want is to fight against you. No matter what, you are my friend."
>"I'm not plotting anything. I took Aya because if we left her as she was, who knows how much longer she would have stayed like that."
>"I'm not lying to you, Momiji; nor am I taking you for a fool. I trust you. Plus, I do still have a debt to pay to you. I can't pay that if I'm dead."
>What's the weather like?
>Smile, open our arms out.
>"I guess there's no avoiding it, huh? No chance to reconcile-just the strongest versus the fastest Tengu in all Gensyoko. And over what? I never wanted to do this, Momiji..."
>Pause for effect, widen our smile.
>"So I won't bother."
>Fall backwards then dive down, getting ready to fly through the forest.
>What's the weather like?>The weather is pretty nice, not that much cloud cover.
>Stabilize once under the treetops.>You catch yourself roughly five meters off the ground and fly into the cover of trees.
>Begin darting between the trees while flying, so as to keep the fight -technically- off the ground.
>"Momiji, you know I'm just getting away to avoid the taxes, right?"
> "I am running because you are coming at me with a sword!">"If you just gave yourself up, I wouldn't have to chase you!"
> turn around, and try to blind her with the camera.
> If the trees provide enough cover so that she can't see us, double back the way we came in an attempt to fake her out and lose her.>You try to trick Momiji by flying back, no normal person should be able to see you through the trees at the speed you're going.
> Damn wolf tengu and their seemingly x-ray vision.>Stupid Momiji and her exceptional vision, why does it have to be her chasing you?
> Keep flying.
> Would we be able to swerve around trees effectively without knocking ourselves out due to a poor course change?
>"No, I'm not going to tell you why!"
>Keep flying-for Tenma's sake, keep flying.
>"Momiji! Listen to me! Yes, I'm going! No, I'm not going to tell you why!Yes, I will remain in touch! But I am not, I repeat, I am not, plotting anything! Why can't you accept that?!"
> Don't say this part, it'll just induce even more paranoia.>You keep flying, weaving between the trees.
> Instead, say it's for Aya's sake.
>Double check to make sure no one is around.>As far as you can see, there is nobody else around.
>If there's still nothing, enter the lab.
>Check on Rin.>You decide to check on the kasha again and head for the third level of the lab.
>Inventory
>Does she have anything in her hands?>She does not appear to be carrying anything.
>Does anything look different since we left? Or amiss?
>"Hey; you ok?"
>"What I heard is that your soul wonders to the river of the dead, where a ferrymen takes you across to the other side-supposedly, where heaven lies.">You give the kasha a pat on the shoulder as you try to comfort her.
>Give a reassuring pat on the shoulder.
>"What do you mean by that? If you're referring to the situation of someone bordering on being alive and actually dead, then it's hard to describe.">"We're both alive."
>Keep that hand on her shoulder for a bit; if she cries again, we can at least be there.
>"How much does she mean to you?"
>"We're going to do everything we can for her, I promise.">"She was the kindest, sweetest girl. She might have been a bit stupid and naive, but she was so dedicated to anything she did."
>"She may not be as alive as she could be now, But someway, somehow, I promise that she will smile again."
>"If you don't mind me asking, who is she? What was she like?"
>That hand will stay on that shoulder until Rin no longer needs it.
"It would be a first step, she'll probably never be quite the same person..but hopefully we can be there for her when she is a person again.">"Not quite the same..."
>"Would you go to any lengths to be with someone you loved?">"I... I don't know."
>"I... I don't know.">She nods at your words, though she doesn't take her eyes from the hell raven.
>"I suppose, I've left my past life behind me, at least for now, in order to help an old friend of mine."
>"But yet, another friend of mine tried to kill me because she thought I was going insane."
>"I think the best you can do is be prepared to go the distance, but to look before you leap, as much as you can."
>"Why do you ask?"
>"I'd ask myself-is this what they would have wanted?">"Okuu... You're the same as me, right?"
>"If I thought that they would, in their right state of mind, and they wanted to share it with me, I would take the leap."
>"But if not, then I wouldn't."
>"I'm sure where-ever she is right now, however she's feeling, she wants you to be happy."
"Orin, what are you doing? Why don't we wait just a little? We should all talk with Nitori.">"I can't bring her back. If I tried, she could walk and talk, but it wouldn't really be her."
>This looks like she's going to kill herself.>She may have been through a lot, but suicide is never the answer... Is it?
>Consider-should we ask Satori for help when she wakes up?
>"Really? Is this what she would have wanted? To squander all the life you have in front of you, to take that freedom that she fought so hard for you to keep, and throw it right back in her face?"
> Is everyone suicidal now?!>It's best to remember that Momiji, at least, was not suicidal.
> Is everyone suicidal now?!>What is wrong with these people?
> What did Nitori do? Summon the ghost of Christmas Past?
>It's best to remember that Momiji, at least, was not suicidal.>You take solace in the fact that some people are trying to kill you instead of themselves.
>She was homicidal.
>With that comfort in mind, continue as nolrai wrote.
> Fallow Orin, stealthy if possible.
> F>You watch the kasha leave the room.aollow Orin as stealthily as possible.
>JumpFly over the 1st flaming pit you see.
I hate to sound like an idiot, but would it be worth asking her whats she plans to do/kill herself?Hmmm... Good point. I just want to see the next update though. After that, we'll intervene.
If we follow her too far out the lab, that may give Satori a chance to up-and-atomize our dear nitori. More importantly, Momiji may catch us to. Thoughts?
> Continue following her.>You follow her out of the door where she takes a few steps into the open before she begins to rise into the air.
> If she makes even the slightest indication that she's about to kill herself, intervene.
> There are at least two ways this can end horribly.>You can only pray that you manage to resolve this without anything bad happening.
> "Rin! What are you doing!?"
>Damnit no time to waste, follow her up, but keep about four people's difference for now.>You follow the kasha into the air, though you make sure to keep some distance between the two of you.
>"Damnit Rin, you can't just get to where she is by flying there!"
>"More importantly, I'm pretty damn sure Satori needs your comfort right now, so can you just wait for a goddamn moment before you do something that stupid?!"
> "Please Rin! Don't do this! What'll happen if everything turns out to be fine after all?! You'll only be hurting Utsuho and Satori more than they already are!">"Okuu can't come back, how could things turn out fine?"
>"But that's the thing! Don't you get it? Utsuho CAN come back. It's the very reason why she is inside that.">"I could make her move again, but it wouldn't be her. It would just be an empty shell."
>"Please, don't throw this away! All I ask is that you come back and wait a little longer! Hell, I'll not chase you if it turns out you were right in the end; but please just come back!"
>Ready some danmaku if she continues up, but don't fire anything yet.
>Try and keep the same gap between us and Rin.>You continue to follow the kasha, maintaining your distance.
>Rise up to meet her.>You fly up to the kasha and hold both of her arms.
>Get a firm, but not tight grip on both of Rin's arms.
>"Listen to me. You said you wanted my opinion?">"What would you know about what she wanted?!"
>"This isn't what Okuu, as you call her, would have wanted. This isn't what ANYONE would have wanted.
>"The hell raven, who I must stress CAN STILL COME BACK, would have wanted you to live a happy life. She would have wanted you to look after the life that you and Satori still had, and she would have want.ed.you.to.find.happiness."
>"Regardless of your desires for her, regardless of how desperately you want to be with her, you will only live once.">"What point is there to a life without her?!"
>"And if you throw your life away right now, from what you have told me, I can guarantee that she is going to ask these three questions.">"... Shut up."
>"Were you okay? Did you look after Satori?
>"And, since all of your answers will be no... She will feel guilty, disappointed, and despair respectively."
>"Is this really how you love her?">"What would you know about how I feel?!"
>"You'd follow her so far as to cause her emotional pain in the afterlife?"
>Laugh.>"Shut up Shut up SHUT UP!"
>"Oh dear...what about when she comes back, to find you gone?"
>How far up 'exactly' are we?>The two of you are roughly half a kilometer into the air.
>From where we are now, if we dove down into the ground as fast as we could, possibly with someone else in our grip, how much damage would we cause? (Serious injury/death.)
Hmm, I have an idea; several in fact. I'm tempted to catch the punch, but first...
>How far up 'exactly' are we?
>From where we are now, if we dove down into the ground as fast as we could, possibly with someone else in our grip, how much damage would we cause? (Serious injury/death.)
This is just a silly idea, but I've seen this possibility since we started flying up.
>Do we know any effective sleeper holds?>You don't, though you could attempt to improvise.
>What's the commonly accepted view of death in Gensyoko, or at least the version we know is common?
> Attempting to improvise might accidentally kill her since we're dealing with necks here.>You wonder about how attempting to improvise sleeper hold would go. Necks are delicate things, after all.
> Dodge Rin's punch while keeping our grip on her.
>Whilst doing this...>The kasha's fist passes through the air that your head was occupying a short moment ago.
>"Please stop this; we're only trying to help."
>How much time is left on the Satori Clock?
>Slowly begin to descend, if we catch Rin.>You attempt to slowly pull her closer to the ground, however, this is rather difficult due to her moving about.
>Playtime is over-grab that wrist hard and use our other arm to elbow her in the face before grabbing the front of her clothes.>You grab the kasha's wrist before it reaches you, pulling on it throw the kasha off balance whilst you let go of her other arm to hit her face with your elbow.
>"Damnit Rin, I've told you enough times now, Okuu can come back!"
>"WHY ARE YOU SO AGAINST THE IDEA?!"
>Consider-if Nitori's estimation was wrong, then Satori may be affecting Rin...but could she reach Rin with her powers from here?
All in favor for adding another name to our list of defeated opponents?Might as well. She seems to be hysterical right now.
>Punch her across the face; that comment she made... We must be getting somewhere.Actually, make this a slap instead. Don't want to hurt her too badly.
>Punch her across the face; that comment she made... We must be getting somewhere.>You use your other arm to punch her across the face whilst maintaining your hold on her shirt.
>"You're not what?! Think about it! Think about it REALLY hard."
>Shake her; if she tries to hit us, shrug it off.
>"The idea is there because IT WILL WORK! Utsuho will come back AS HERSELF! No empty shell business; no lost soul. You get to live happily with her once again and that is what YOU truly want! Look deep inside; deeper then what your mind is saying right now! You MUST SEE THIS!!!"
>After the above, if she still isn't calm,>You decide that you've had enough.
>"Alright. You know what? [censored] it."
>Grab Rin, dive, but make sure to slow down and land safely on our feet.
>"Have you heard of a metaphor? Because I'm willing to bet every inch of Lord Tenma's intestines that you haven't."
>Slam her against the nearest wall.
>"When I said 'she will not be the same person', I meant it in the sense of 'she will have undergone psychiological changes because of a near-death-experience."
>"She is still, essentially, the same Okuu you know and love."
>"But she would be a very upset Okuu you know and love, who would come to you seeking shelter and reassurance."
>"And yet, you had to go and blow it out of proportion."
>"What do you think the after-life does to people, [censored]ing clone them and send the fakes back down?"
>"No."
>"If and when Okuu reawakens, she will still be Okuu. Nothing can change that."
>"Now. Are you going to come back quietly or am I going to have to make you quiet?"
>Consider how effective our intimidation is being.
This is why I only did what I did there as a last attempt, before the dive at least.
Oh well, we'll have to deal with it.
Oh my WORD that went wrong.:ohdear:
My sincerest apologies.
>Is...Is her leg broken?
:ohdear:That's what I tried, I swear!
Well... That... Well...
Uh... Maybe we should've taken the approach we took with the brainwashed Nitori.
That's what I tried, I swear! It's okay. We'll find a way to counter this somehow.
But well, the 'slam' kind of came out wrong.
Again, my apologies.
>Is...Is her leg broken?>It doesn't look broken, at the very least.
>This... is a bit too much.>... This wasn't meant to happen.
>"Rin... I'm so sorry... I truly am..."
>If we get close enough, kneel down to her.
>"I didn't mean for this, but you have to calm down... No one can help if you don't..."
>Hug her gently. We said before we'd offer a shoulder, so we're offering it.
Youkai are durable, but tengu are strong.
That, and Rin is unfit.
And yeah, I interpreted slam as throwing, sorry since you had meant something else.
Would it be worth giving Rin some space to calm down? Obviously our presence isn't helping right now.Probably for the best though... It may help if we got her some medical attention as well.
>Is there anything nearby, or on her, that she could use to take her life with?
>If not...
>"Please don't go anywhere; I'll be right back!"
>Fly off as quickly as possible; shouting out for Nitori as you go!
>The sooner we attract her attention, the quicker we can get back to Rin.
>Are we inside the lab?>There doesn't appear to be anything she could use to kill herself nearby.
>If not, get in there, as written above.
>If we are, all is good.
>"RIN! TROUBLE! KIT! NOW!">"Huh?"
>Get that kappa moving double time.
>"I think she went insane; I'd put it down to Satori, but I don't really know the extent of her abilities.">"The satori is still unconscious, isn't she?"
>"She wouldn't stop going on about Utsuho though; no matter how many times I told her you could bring her back, she just flipped out."
>Keep up that pace.
>"She was wanting to die... I didn't have much of a choice."
>"Last I saw her, she was only using her left hand to try and get away from me-however, it didn't look like her leg was broken. I'm no professional, though."
>"She was crying for Okuu-I'm under the impression something snapped. I'm sorry."
> "I... I made a terrible decision and forgot the about the difference in strength between us...">"Did something happen to her arms and legs?"
>Stay out of the way unless you're asked to assist.>You probably don't know enough to be of any assistance yet.
>Keep a look-out for anyone coming this way.
>Head over.>"Help lift her."
>"What do you need me to do?"
>"I want her inside to see what you did to her.">"Right."
>"Right.">You move to carefully pick up the kasha.
>Pick her up.
> Well this'll certainly be fun...>Just like everything else that has happened today.
> Carefully pick her up anyway.
>Nod and do as instructed.>You nod and place the kasha on the table and give her an apology.
>Whisper to Rin... "I truly am sorry."
>Stand next to Nitori.
>"I seem to be causing you problem after problem. I'm sorry."
>Say to Nitori "I'll be on hand if you need me.">"All right, I'll be in the room next to this one if you need me."
>How close is Satori to awakening?
>...Her awakening is going to be very, very BAD, isn't it?
> Sit in a corner and let out some stress.>You've had a rough day.
> Go find Aya.
>Sigh.>You sigh as you take a seat on the chair by the desk.
>"It's certainly been a long day, hasn't it?"
>Damn... Hold off on sleep for a little longer.Seconding this.
>We've got to make sure Satori doesn't flip out when she wakes up first.
>Perhaps we should go to the room, with said Satori in it, now.
>Damn... Hold off on sleep for a little longer.>You can't fall asleep yet. You have to make sure that Satori doesn't lose it when she wakes up.
>We've got to make sure Satori doesn't flip out when she wakes up first.
>Perhaps we should go to the room, with said Satori in it, now.
>Are there any energy drinks nearby that we can use to perk ourselves up, at least before meeting Satori?>There are no food or drinks in the room. You wonder where the food and drinks are kept, anyway.
>How long til Satori wakes up?
>Hmm, well Nitori did say to go to her if we needed something.>That she did.
>Head back to Nitori; knock on the door once there, of course. Manners and all that.
>Head on inside.>You open the door and step inside.
>"It's only me."
>Scan the area; what's going on.
>Examine the lines and numbers and such. See if what we can determine from them.>You look at the display, however it seems that you don't have the sufficient knowledge to understand what's going through it.
>"You remember someone called Momiji?"
> Sigh.>You really don't need this right now.
> "On my way back earlier, she confronted me about why I was carrying Aya out of town so I tried telling her without tipping her off about the lab and well... that set her off and she tried to kill me before I "started behaving like Nitori" or something along those lines."
>"...the sad thing is, if the Reimu we knew was still around, SHE'D be the one solving all of this.">"I'd get quite a beating, wouldn't I?"
>"But it's down to us now. I doubt we can do it alone, but we can get the allies we need, one way or another."
>Put a hand on her shoulder.
> "It isn't your fault. You couldn't have known it'd turn out like this.">"The old me probably knew all about it though. The old me most likely didn't care."
>"Well, know that you aren't alone in this. I'll help in any way I can; I'm sure Aya will too once she recovers.">"Thanks. Really."
>Smile.
>"Anyway, are you hungry? I was thinking about getting some food, so I figured I'd check to see if you wanted anything first."
>"Good; I'll be sure to bring you something.">"Oh, let's see..."
>"Well, that is... once I figure out where to go for it."
> "Alright then. I'll be back soon.">"Alright. Take care now."
> Head out of the room, closing the door behind us.
> Head for the mess hall.
>Smile-at least something is going right.>You're looking forward to the prospect of food as you're rather hungry yourself.
>How good are our cooking skills?
>Time until the Satori wakes up?
> Alright then. Get to the mess hall and head into the room that Nitori described.>You continue to walk towards the mess hall.
>Read labels on boxes, if there are any.>Most of the boxes appear to be labelled with names of various fish.
> We can cook fish right?>You can.
> Rummage through the boxes to check the different types of fish.
> Check how fresh the fish is.>They don't appear to be fresh, but they have been preserved.
> If it's all fresh, take some salmon and head for the kitchen.
> Get into that kitchen and check what we've got to work with appliance-and-spice wise.>You head into the kitchen to see various utensils and appliances.
> 'Hmm might have to make a herb garden/go gather some. Good food is important.'>You note the importance of being well fed to yourself and consider either going out to collect some herbs or trying to grow your own within the lab.
> 'Look through and use up the ones that need to get used soon. Soak the dried herbs if you have to and think about getting some varity. Kappas may live off fish..but Tengu are omnivores.'
> Start cooking.
> Are we able to basically fillet a fish?>You can.
> If so, look around for a knife that'll help with this and set to work.
> Divide the pieces by two plates and get some cutlery.>You look around for some plates and cutlery, and find them near the dividing wall between the kitchen and mess hall.
> Look around for an energy drink for our self.
> Either way, obtain two drinks for us and Nitori.
> Head for Nitori's room.
> Time 'til Satori wakes up.
> Get to Nitori's room first. We'll check Satori later.>You decide that you need your meal first and continue walking towards Nitori's room.
> "Thanks.">Nitori steps aside to let you into the room.
> Set the stuff down somewhere inside the room.
> "So Satori should be awake by now?"
> "I can try. Probably wouldn't have brought the cutlery if I'd known we'd be doing it though.">"If you want to eat first, that's fine."
> "Nah. It'd be best to get there as soon as we can considering the crap that's happened since we got here.">"Alright then, let's get going."
> Take fish in hand and eat it on the way. Take a glass of water too.
> "Yeah. She used her mind-reading abilities to somehow manipulate you to try and commit suicide, or at least that's what it looked like was going on. Needless to say, it took some convincing to snap you out of it because even after she was knocked unconscious you were still brainwashed.">"And you have no idea how she did this, right?"
> Take a bite out of the fish.
>See how Nitori reacts when she bites the fish.>Nitori doesn't show any particular reaction. She simply continues to cut up and eat the fish as she walks with the fork.
>"As I said, it was all I could put together giving what I saw. Other then that, I know as little as you.">"I see."
>Keep up that multi-tasking; tasty, tasty fish.
> Point out the room and head there.>You point in the direction of the room you left the satori in before starting to head there yourself.
>Grab Nitori before she moves any further.>You take hold of Nitori, stopping her from getting to the satori.
>"Maybe it's a trick."
>Point out the eye.
>"I mean, it just feels like she might be leading us on here."
> Continue to watch Satori while Nitori goes about her business.>You continue to watch the satori as Nitori approaches her.
> Stay calm. It's obvious she'd be angry after what we did.>She has every right to be angry at you.
>Since she's probably reading our mind right about now, let her read us. We only want the best out of all of this so things can get better; that and we are sorry for knocking her out like that, but we didn't really have a choice.>You apologize to the satori mentally. It may not be much, but it's still something.
>"Whilst I could stand here and let you just read our minds to find out what's going on, I think it would be best if we actually talked about this properly; without anything happening just yet.">The satori glares at you with a look of hatred.
>"I truly am sorry about earlier."
>Is Nitori doing anything or readying anything? If so, shake our head at her; we can't have another incident, not again.
>"You don't think I planned this, do you?">"Why couldn't you have done that?"
>"I genuinely wanted to reunite you with your friend. If I knew it would turn out like this, I would have simply turned around and left well alone."
I'm not one to talk but that is one big :V landmine we're about to land on.Oh Goooooooooooooooooood. :ohdear:
Especially if she found nothing.
:munch:
>"Because it's not false hope! Can't you see that everything is not as bad as what you're making it out to be?">"Utsuho is dead. Rin remains broken, and all you've done is hurt her further. I have lost all the family I once had."
>Motion to Nitori, then back to us.
>"Everything we're trying to do right now is to fix everything that got us all into this mess. More importantly for you and Orin, it's to give you back what you've been wanting back for so long."
>"So unless your eye is telling you anything special about your friends state that we don't know, I'd like to hear one good reason why she can't be brought back. "
>"Starting now."
> "I'm sure that Nitori will think of something. If anyone is capable of bringing back the dead, it'd be her.">"And what makes you so sure of this?"
>"Besides, you never thought you'd see Utsuho again until today, right?">"But what good has it done?"
>"What makes me sure of it is Nitori's determination to actually get this done! The process isn't going to be quick; trust me, I've asked. But think back to all the reports and rumours.">"Do you think that determination alone can bring back the dead?"
>"This place probably has all the information needed to pull off such a feat. Nitori is doing her best to fix things; surely that's a significant change in how she was before."
>Sigh a little, but take a deep breath; we're letting this out. No fighting for once.
>"In her own words, a reputation is hard to fix. No one is asking her to perform miracles; which is what you're putting this under by the sound of things. If Nitori KNOWS that she CAN do this, then she WILL do this. Nitori told me earlier that bringing Utsuho back was one of the top things she wanted to fix; but one person alone can only do so much."
>"I'm not asking you to drop your hate for her for what she has done; to yourself and to Orin. In fact, I can understand if that grudge stays with you for the rest of your life. But what I am asking is that you grit your teeth for a while and let her get on with it. Killing her will solve nothing; and I'm tired of fighting against people I'm trying to help, let alone call friends. I just want to see people happy again; and if that means helping a kappa bring someone back from the dead by digging around in here for the right data and re-uniting her with the two people who matter most to her, then I will!"
>"Call it impossible all you will; I BELIEVE it can happen. Without using your eye, for once Satori; without thinking about what Orin feels or anything like that... Look into YOUR heart! Deeper then you've probably looked into anyone elses and TELL ME that there is not a single shimmer of hope left in that body of yours!"
>Glance at Nitori during this. How is she reacting?
>Struggling? How so? Does she look like she's about to cry?>The satori appears confused, more than anything. She appears to be trying to sort out her thoughts.
>Does she seem like she might lash out at us, likewise?
>What kind of punishment is set in store for people who fail to pay their protection money?>You aren't sure about the details, but you know that it was enough to drive Aya to overdose on hallucinogens.
>Who enacts this punishment?
>Add on to the end:
>"I understand you've been hurt-hell, I'm as much to blame as everyone. However, I extend my hand to you,"
>extend your hand.
>"A chance to prove yourself wrong. A chance to live not by the pessimism which holds our Gensyoko so much, but to live by the desires of your heart. A chance to live in a world free of the suffering the world forced upon itself, instead of taking it on the chin. More importantly, Satori, I ask you not to live by a world where change happens around you."
>"But a world where change IS you."
>"If you can't place your faith, you and Rin can turn tail. When Utsuho is well again, we shall deliver her to you. All I ask is that you speak of us to no one."
>"But if you want to do more than live your life passively, if you want to fight for what Gensyoko needs, then I will extend my hand to you. Ye who has suffered pain, I offer you the blade that cut you in order to save your world, and hundreds of others in the process. Will you join me, Satori of the Satori?"
>Smile.
>"What is your desire?"
>Take a step forward towards her; don't startle her though. Just a calm step forward.>As you take a step forward, the satori takes a step back.
>"Satori, I place my trust in her because I have no one else I can trust right now. Aya means the world to me, and seeing her in the state that she is in brings me so much grief. Had it not been for Nitori, I may have ended up in the same state as her for not being able to return the miko's demands in time."
>"I want to help, Satori; it was one of the things I said to you back at the Palace. Nitori wants to help because she KNOWS everything that happened before was wrong. The two kappas who have stuck with Nitori, they've probably seen enough to know that what Nitori says now is true! If a kappa alone vows to fix the world, and the lives she has destroyed as a result, how much would it mean if, suddenly, not only do two kappas return, but a tengu comes along too? I trust Nitori with Aya as a result; that she may bring her back to her original state. Doesn't that show there is still hope left in this world!?"
>Take another step forward.
>"So tell me, again Satori, what can you truly see in that heart of yours? Are you going to continue to deny yourself of this; believing in the negative and living in despair? Or are you going to see that there is something there? That there was ALWAYS something there! Orin never gave up... So tell me, is it your status as a satori that tells you to give up? Or do your pets not mean that much to you after all?"
>Think a little tune of change as we say the above. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAlztMvvNkk&feature=related)>You're going to do the impossible, touch the untouchable.
>"But what, Satori? I understand you've been hurt. Hell, I'm as much to blame as everyone else.">"..."
>Calm ourselves a little; forcing her back means she's probably scared; even if only a little.
>"But I'm obviously hitting something inside you if you're being reduced to this. Just think about this. Think about what your sister would think if she saw you now. What would be going through Koishi's mind if she had seen you give up all hope to the world?"
" Gensokyo has been gripped by so much that it has shown on everyone; even yourself. But I'm standing here, trying to reveal to you the true desires of our heart. Your heart! We're giving you a chance to live in a world free of the suffering that Gensokyo is currently in. But not on your own. With Orin smiling again. With Utusho back too; looking at you both with a content expression on her face. After all, Satori, if the change of this world can not go forward, then what would happen if the one thing that changed in the world WAS you?"
>"Can you imagine how much would change if the satori who showed herself as a quitter suddenly realised that there was always a way? If you can't place your faith in us, then you and Rin are free to leave. I will not chase you; nor will Nitori. But I will say this, when Utsuho is well again, we shall deliver her to you. I will not expect a thank you; but it will be the least we can do. Because of that, however, all I ask in return is that you speak of us to no one. Nothing about the base, who is here; nothing."
>"But if you want to do more than live your life passively, like I have chosen to do, if you want to fight for something that means the world to you, then I will extend my hand to you. In fact..."
>Pull out our phone and hold it out to her.
>"I live and die with this thing. If you decide to stay here, then perhaps you should take it off me. If we fail to deliver what we promise you can come back, then you can feel free to do with this as you please. It would mean the end of my duties should it break, but I'd say that's a fitting exchange if we fail to bring Utsuho back to you. Since by how you are acting right now, it is what your heart truly desires..."
>A comforting smile here; we only mean the best for Satori right now.
>"Isn't that right, Satori? Isn't that your true desire?"
>"I've shown you the impossible, now show it to yourself.">"I..."
>"Do it Satori, be the change you want to be!"
>... Pocket the phone and walk up to her.>You place your phone back into a pocket and walk up to the satori.
>Hold her... Hug her. Give her that shoulder to cry on... She needs this.
>"I will. We will. I promise you that. We won't stop until she is back with us... With you."
>"And I'm sorry... I truly am sorry."
>Stroke her hair gently; let her cry it out.>"I want to believe..."
>"I know Satori... I know... I promise we will."
>Motion for Nitori to come over.
>Say calmly...
>"I have a feeling... we may need a couple more rooms."
> Allow ourselves another smile. Seems like things are going to get a bit better.>You smile to yourself, things are definitely going to get better.
> Continue holding Satori until she's let it all out.
>"In which case...">"I suppose I shall stay here."
>Back to Satori.
>"You can stay with us here if you want. I understand if you want to bring things from your place; in which case, I'd be willing to help you bring them over here. What do you say?"
>If she says yes, tell Nitori to make whatever preparations she needs.
>To Nitori: "Hmm, that does sound pretty convenient.">"I never bothered touching the living area when it became obsolete. It's coming in handy now, though."
>To Satori: "Whenever you feel ready, we'll head off and get what you need."
>Together, we can work through this.
>We will bring her back.
>"After all... We have to fix what should have never happened!"
Sorry Dormio...I. Hate. You.
>BGM Request!
>Is there actually any hope of reviving Okuu, or is that part of the next quest?Nyoro~n
>Feedback + Analysis on Hatate's behaviourOverall, I think you handled most things pretty well.
Violence solves everything
>Bonus scenes
>And one more thing...
>Were there any moments in this Quest where Hatate could have died?
>If so, when, where and how?
>Correct answers to the Rin speech>"If she were to move again, if her heart were to start beating again, do you think that she would be alive?"
>Would there have been any way to kill Reimu?Good luck trying.
> What would have happened if we did borrow money from Tewi?Have fun paying that particular loan off.
>... Oh snap. I forgot about Yamame.Isn't it sad, Yamame?
>What will be Yamame's fate then? Does she actually see Kisume in the end?
>YAY! We get an Aya back! After all that hard-work, Hatate gets a good end.Ayayayayayayayayaya.
>Satori friendship is good too!
>Where's Rin in all this?Rin is helping Nitori investigate methods of resurrection.
>A scene with Rin and a changed Satori would be nice, if that's the case. Bet that would be a shock for her.
>And one more thing...Hatate dying?
>Were there any moments in this Quest where Hatate could have died?
>If so, when, where and how?
>Could any character we interacted with have died as well?Nitori, Fuuko, Rin, Satori, Yamame, Momiji were all potential candidates for death. Yuuko can't die. :(
>Names would be nice; again, how would said deaths have happened?
Hatate SpecialTM
>Momiji... I'm so sorry for leaving you in that state...I dunno, probably?
>Is there any chance of being able to fix things with Momiji? With Aya back, it sounds possible... right? :ohdear:
>Wait... Yamame from Reimu?Who knows, man?
>Does this mean... Yamame is DEAD right NOW?! :ohdear:
>Out of curiosity, how would Satori have killed us?Similar thing she did to Nitori.
>>Actually... I'm going to request something I really shouldn't...
>>Request Bad End Scene: Hatate's Suicide. (Satori's Mind-Manipulation, same thing she did to Nitori.)
[I'm wanting the whole thing too; from Hatate talking to Satori, to Satori doing whatever she did to Nitori to Hatate, and then whatever happens next. All of it HAS to be in the view point of Hatate; as in, it has to be in the same style as the game. Oh gosh... What have I requested?)
>Requesting Scene: First meeting (Evil Nitori)Psh, unlock your damn bonus scenes.
>Requesting Scene: Payment time is up
>Also, where's my BGM? I've given you enough. :derp: (You didn't disappoint with Nitori Quest, so don't disappoint me here.)
> BGM: Hatate QuestI'm working on it, be patient. >:(
> Did we deviate extremely far from any of your original plans? Not too far. Most things went as I planned them.
Awesome list there; some of them really punch through to you.\o/ Youtube link is up for the trip to hell thing.
Major shout out to Meeting with Satori; that really matched the atmosphere of that whole scene. The Hakurei Shrine was exactly as I imagined it, and What Have we Done was a true gut punch; more fitting when you think of how quickly Hatate went to get Nitori after that whole scene.
And damn you for putting TAM into this whole thing. Are you trying to make me love you more then I all ready do? The last two tracks were also tear-jerkers in their own right; more so when picturing Aya waking up and Hatate seeing her... Yeah...
Eagerly waiting for Trip to Former Hell. And wow, no actual Touhou arranges in there. To be fair, the one you included in Nitori Quest (Utsuho going Insane) was damn right awesome; so it would have been hard to top that. :3
All in all, awesome list. Now to start taking notes for Yukari Quest. :derp:nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
I nearly forgot! This has been nagging at me for awhile but...It probably influenced me.
Did you get the whole "lab-panel maze" idea from Portal 2? :3
>Requesting Scene: First meeting (Evil Nitori)>You step inside the laboratory, satori and kasha in tow.
>Requesting Scene: Payment time is up>You simply don't have the money.
>>Request Bad End Scene: Hatate's Suicide. (Satori's Mind-Manipulation, same thing she did to Nitori.)>You tense, and prepare to slap some sense into the satori.
