Title: Touhou Dreams Thread
Post by: Luneth on April 19, 2011, 07:32:13 PM
I can't believe the old one died. That was like, my main reason for coming to this forum!
Original Thread (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,193.0.html)

So, this one's self explanatory right? Post dreams you've had about Touhou, characters, games or anything you think is related.

I've probably made it clear I'm a dream fanatic, posting in the old thread so many times and such, and lately I have been remembering some amount of my dreams.. But, no matter how hard I try, I can't get any Touhou into them. Makes me sad when I fall asleep after listening to Touhou music and reading about youkai myths, only to dream in some old black-and-white show. Anyways.
The last Touhou-related dream I had started with Marisa and Reimu (magically in 3D!) in some desert. I have NO idea what happened(if anything did?), but Maribel and Renko were apparently walking somewhere like 20 steps away from them. And then they died. (ComeonIcan'tsettleforthatwhathappened!$@#) One of their hats floated over on the wind or something, and Marisa caught it.(The hat was a recolored version of Marisa's hat though. What? They were wearing their real hats when I saw them..) Marisa just said "... Maribel and Renko died! o_O"
And random transition, we're somewhere else in the desert. Apparently Reimu, Marisa, me, and a bunch of other normal people(around my age, 14-17) were doing a really short race to decide groups we were in. I think it was to hunt down whatever killed M&R. There were two white lines just randomly in the sand/dirt, one maybe 15 feet away and one about 25. When we started Reimu and Marisa pretty much beat everybody to the first line. Didn't look like they had to try very hard either. I stopped at the first line, but someone said something about having to go to the second line now. Typical, don't let the Touhou fan on the team with the Touhou characters. What can the rest of us even do anyways. :derp:
And obviously, it ends there. I know dreams aren't supposed to make sense, but come on. That was terrible. I liked the one with me as Mokou better. :V

So, you guys have anything better to share? They don't have to make any sense at all. The fun part is imagining it whilst reading. :D

I sure do wish I could remember my dreams in greater detail. I usually have dreams with at least one Touhou reference in it, in fact I'd say there's usually at least 1-2 of the characters in it, but I can't remember much of it.

One of the only dreams I've managed to remember in any detail at all was that...

Well, I was in some kind of a huge room. The walls and many objects inside it were made of metal, and I had to solve some kind of puzzle. There was some kind of... Arrangement of large metal cubes at one of the walls of the room? Well, each of the cubes was basically the size of a normal room, so I'll just call them rooms. And I don't remember what I had to do in each of them, there were a bunch of a Touhou characters around the area but I don't exactly remember which ones either. In one of the rooms I was talking to somebody, but I think that person was just a normal human. Still, once I solved the puzzles, the people in the rooms all suddenly began to die. I remember that I was panicking a little and I went into one of the room at that point to find that the upper half of someone's head was just sitting there on the counter. ...And that was basically when the pathway to the final boss, Shinki, opened. Yeah, the thought of fighting Shinki personally scares me shitless, so that's probably why I woke up at that point.

Last night I dreamt I was flirting with some girl I met in the campus, then it got dark, a chill ran through my bones and a gap opened in front of me.
"You belong to me, is it that hard to remember?" She asked.
Haven't been that scared for years.

My Touhou dreams are a little more literal. Like the last one I had was me capturing Yuyuko's last spell on lunatic. :V

So why can't I do that in real life?
Title: Re: Touhou Dreams Thread

Yeah, I've had an assortment of Touhou dreams. The one where I was actually Mokou(at my house), one where I went through an entire stage 6 with a new character(Full-screen gameness), one of me playing against Yuugi in NDS-style, that one where it was like real life in a Gensokyo desert but with a few Touhou characters.. A few I've forgotten (Ugh, dreams feel so unimportant when I first wake up, I forget to remember them..), etcetera.

I know it sounds like I'm way lucky, but those were over a long period of time, and the fact I actually make an effort to remember them every day makes it worse.

Well let's see. I stay up way too late doing things like such every night, so I guess when we lose our internet I'll have more time to dream, right? Optimism is hard.

Ah yes, I almost forgot to post this.

In my dream last night, Hina was going to bake delicious cookies with a recipe that was apparently Lunarian in origin.

Also, something even more random, but... There was this god or something like that. It was apparently also Lunarian or at least had something to do with them. Anyway, it was a floating blue head named Deus that had roughly a 1/1,500,000 chance of appearing every time you did.... Something, I don't remember what. And yes, the name Deus seems to have come from Serial Experiments Lain, a short and mature anime I would recommend to anyone. Also, it may or may not have been based off of Uboa from Yume Nikki, I have no idea about that. And one more thing, I have a vague feeling that there is a chance that the thing you had to do for it to appear was to flush the toilet. :]

I had a dream just last night about Yuyuko's past. I remember almost the whole thing.

Yuyuko had a mother, a father, and three siblings. She was the oldest one out of her siblings; two brothers and a sister. One night, she and her siblings heard a sound from outside the house. They decided to go check it out even though it was late. The younger brother fell in a ditch and sprained his ankle, so Yuyuko asked her other brother and sister to get him back to the house while she investigated the source of the noise. She walked until she was close to the middle of the village. In the center, there was a group of people gathered around like a town meeting. She listened in on the conversation from behind a house to see what was going on. She overheard a plot against her family, and started to run home. However, she tripped over a rock in her rush and the villagers ran over to where she was. They surrounded her and were about to arrest her when all of a sudden her power to invoke death activated. She killed every single villager that surrounded her. She ran back home with tears in her eyes, desperately trying to deny that she killed the villagers.

Now if I reworded that, I could really use it for this fanfiction that I'm currently writing. Probably the most helpful dream I've ever had.

I probably can't top that off. But I can post my lame half-remembered dreams so I make it look more cool in comparison.

The only Touhou dreams I can remember are one where Remilia, Sakuya, and Meiling were running around playing tag or something and then there were fireworks everywhere, and one where I was playing some Phantasm (pssshhh this is how you tell it's a dream) wiht like 160 levels with either Alice, Suwako, or Rin Kagamine (somebody blond, who cares) as the final insane boss.

hmm had 3 dreams:

1) I had a dream that i got run over by a train by Yukari o.o then had the GantZ experience

2) when Flan-chan scared the shit out of me, i was walking in a corridor splattered with blood, i open the doors that look like the ones in hospital, then i see someone sitting down on a stool with their back towards me, she suddenly turnt around and screamed, This (http://konachan.com/post/show?md5=addfebb2d9acff872acc6389e34daad5)

3) is an interesting one o.o....more or less was a idea for a story, as if i was reading the book, shortening this down so its an easy read.

Its about a story on how the Prismriver sister's died. Their foster mother adopted them and used their mansion as the main household. Later on she found out she was ageing, she went crazy, (on top of this knowing the rumour's that the mansion was haunted too)  and started trying new recipe's for her to be young again, in a book she found out the last method was to use 3 children to cook a meal for eternal youth.

The mother called Lyrica down, and left the older sisters to play, and asked Lyrica to perform for her, while she was performing she took something hard.

Lyrica had died. Struck with a blunt object. Lyrica had died. Her favourite flower dropped and began to wither, while Lyrica Prismriver being taken away to the icy abyss.

The next day, Merlin and Lunasa began to think where their little sister had gone, so they began to split up and look for her younger sister Merlin went downstairs and Lunasa went the other way. A flower laid on the floor, it showed signs of flaccidity, as Merlin approached the flower and saw that it was Lyrica's favourite flower, knowing that she had vanished somehow. A shadow leapt over her, Merlin had been consumed by the dark shadow.

Lunasa had came downstairs because Merlin took too long. She approached the kitchen to find blood with a trail following to the next room into a freezer room. She followed  the red trail, to find the pale remnants of her missing sisters. The sudden shock caused her to run away, with her loud footseps over shadowing her.

Lunasa had reached the front entrance door. It was locked. She turned around to see her foster mother. The piercing scream of death had shaken the mansion.

And to this day, eerie music could be heard playing in the abandoned mansion. Here lies the Prismriver sisters.

I guess the problem wasn't so much that I was dreaming about that, but rather I couldn't actually remember anything more then the basic concept.

Probably not the best thread for me to stumble into.

The other night I did have a touhou dream, but all I can remember is Ran doing naughty things to herself and enjoying the fact I was watching. She was wearing her hat too, this is important.

Nice.  Seriously, I wish someone would draw my mental image as it was rather noice.

Why her and not Yuyuko, I'll never know.

I had this interesting dream.

I was wandering around the forest and stumbled upon a restaurant ran by Yuyuko. Interested, I entered to find Yuyuko waiting behind the counter. She asked me if I wanted the special of the day. Saying yes, she gracefully walked to the back room and shut the door. I heard blades sharpening and her giving commands to Youmu. A bang and a muffled voice came from under the counter. Looking to see what it was, it was a shackled Aya! They were planning to cook Aya! Carrying her on my back, I quietly exited the building and hitched a ride on one of Nue's UFOs. I tried to take off Aya's shackles but was unsuccessful. Suddenly, the UFO was shot down by Yuyuko, angry that I took her rare ingredient. After we crashed, I looked up to see an enraged Nue staring down at me. Angry that her UFO was shot down, a violent red aura surrounded her as she turned to Yuyuko.

What happened next was horrific. Nue changed form her form, turning herself into Chimaeron (http://www.wowhead.com/npc=43296#modelviewer). She then hideously mangled Yuyuko, completely annihilating her. Nue changed back into her humanoid form and struck Aya's bonds with her trident. I was allowed to play around with Nue's seeds while Aya interviewed both of us.

I always used to joke about the Tails Doll (http://i360.photobucket.com/albums/oo46/dall43spice/TailsDoll.png), but this nightmare told me not to.
It was in the scarlet mansion, and the looks of the nightmare looked like a touhou 6 game. I was horrified when what I thought would be Flandre, but instead the Doll, came in. I remember the text was in English, but I'll also goggle translate to Japanese.
TD:...Just one more soul... [...ちょうどもう一つの魂...]
-Tails Doll enters with blood on him-
Marisa: What have you done to her?! [あなたは何をしてきた彼女]
TD: She... Is history. [彼女は...歴史は]
TD: And I will kill you with her! [そして、私は彼女と一緒にあなたを殺すでしょう!]
-battle starts-
[[edit: I now think that "she" is flandre scarlet. but how? how was she killed?]]
I think I remember 3 spells. I think one of them was alot like sakuya's killer doll, but I remember only that on that one.
I remember 2 others, name and looks...
Blood sign "Eternal Soul"
I remember that he spreads red danmaku out, then stops it. 2 lasers comes out of each sphere in a random direction, then slowly moves in a random direction. a bit like perfect freeze.
UNcontrollable Doll "Last Soul of the East"
This one's a crazy mix of Master Spark, "And Then There Were None", and Q.E.D. I think If it weren't for graze, Marisa would've lost a life. The name may be a reference to U.N. Owen, A.K.A. Flandre Scarlet.
after the battle ends, I saw one last Dialog...
Marisa: Wake Up!!
and I did once I saw that.
I checked the clock...
7:06.
6 minutes after 6:60.
6:66.
Maybe that's a coincidence, but scary.

Today, I had a strange Touhou dream. I don't remember all of it...

But it may or may not have involved Remilia taking over the world (or was it taking over the sun?), getting married to Okita Sougo (from Gintama), and having Mima as their child.

...I have no idea what to make of it either. I don't even like Touhou ships.

Dreams are amazing. I love 'em for their randomness, flashes of insight - and that strange moment when your brain rebels against what you're dreaming; maybe it's just mine, but you know, where you do a double take and realize it's a dream, then proceed to enjoy it regardless?

Most of my dreams that involve Touhou involve talking with Yukari - usually about things such as politics and the ways of the world. Usually I feel like a tremendous idiot and wake up with an idea in my head that I immediately right down; it's not necessarily a good idea, but it's always something that I wouldn't have thought of on my own. Sometimes they really move me, but a lot of the time they're things such as - don't put chicory in your coffee all the time, people drink it by mistake and think it's too bitter. There are other dreams, though - I recollect being lost in Eientei and asking a random rabbit for help - she politely directed me to a broom closet and locked the door, running off giggling. I struggled and tried to get out, to no use - until someone unlocked the door, and I tumbled out. No one was there, and the hall was dark - I could only see a few steps in front of me... And from somewhere far off, the faint sound of footsteps.

Closing my eyes in the dream, I walked forward and felt my way along the wall, and felt something warm and gooey - I nearly jolted(awake?) but suddenly it was a celebration and a bunch of people were there with candles and cookies and streamers and ugh. Somehow that made it worse, although I can't ask why. Then, I woke up.

And there are always the wonderful(ly unfortunately rare) dreams of Yuukarin. Whom I usually just ask for advice for keeping my garden going. Her advice is as pleasant as it is highly unhelpful.

But I don't have any dreams of recent note that are Touhou related, at least that are likely to interest everyone.

To itsragtime and anyone else having trouble remembering their dreams - this helped me amazingly, so it might be worth a try. Try writing down one or two words - the strongest sensation you can remember - from the dream as soon as you wake up. Soon, you'll remember phrases and even paragraphs, and before long your dream journal will be full of friends and stories - I couldn't remember much more then when I was scared or happy from a dream, and now, I don't know how I could live without them.

The movie was about a party at Remilia's mansion.Human were invited too. Many touhou character were there:
Chen,Ran,Yukari,Reimu,Marisa,Remilia,Meiling,Flandre and others.
the last thing I saw about that movie was someone going into the basement and met Flandre there..she took him by the neck and threw him at the wall (gently) since the human didn't died.Sakuya came to his rescue and took him back to the party and scolded Flandre.
In that dream,I went to look  if I could buy that movie on the web but it wasn't there :(
Then I woke up :( I should have watched all the movie :(

I had a dream where I was almost run over by Cirno in a car.  What she was doing driving, I will never know.  I remember that the car was blue and really boxy-shaped like an old Volvo, and it said "C I R N O" across the back of the trunk.  After she almost ran me over, she got out and yelled at me for being on the road...even though we weren't on a road at all.  We were on a forest path.

When I tried to leave she just kept following me and complaining.  I tried to remind her that she was leaving her car behind, but it didn't seem to bother her at all.

Why can't I have Sakuya dreams instead?    :(

Just a word of advice. When you wake up and remember your dream somewhat, thinking you'll easily remember it later, you won't. A few days ago I woke up and, as always, felt like the dream wasn't really important yet I could remember the details pretty easily.

Now all I remember is that it involved Touhou. :disappointment:

I haven't had any Touhou-related dreams in recent memory (in fact, I can't remember any recent dreams at all :ohdear:), but I do clearly remember two that I had a few months ago.  (Isn't it weird how some dreams just stick in our memories while others fade within days?  I can still remember a dream I had when I was 5, for instance).

Annyyywaaayyy, the first one I remember was back from before I 1CC'd UFO on Normal.  I dreamed that I 1CC'd the game and perfected the Extra Stage.

Errr,  yeah.  That's it. :3

Moving on, about a week or so after that dream, I had my first, and last (so far), vivid dream (like a "realistic" dream, not a "literal" dream where you're playing the game).  I don't remember the details, but all I remember was that I was in some nice Japanese garden or something, and Yukari was doing NSFW "stuff" with one of my friends, who seemed to be controlling her.  This, obviously, made me rage big-time.  However, somehow due to my liking of Yukari, I had adopted her boundary-manipulating powers (Oh dream logic ::)........).  I then manipulated the boundary of "Truth and Lies", thus making this whole incident as if it was a "lie"--In other words, it never happened.  My friend and I, however, retained memories of what had happened.  Yukari looked at me confused and asked me what happened.  Using telepathy, I showed Yukari a vision of what had been going on just a few moments earlier.  She then got really pissed and was moving toward my friend, preparing to attack.

Aaaand then I woke up.

Posted it earlier in /jp/, then I remembered we had a thread here :D

Oh yes, last night actually. I dreamt that I was walking downstairs, the lights were out and there was only moonlight showing me the way. The stairs were much longer than usual, so I realised I was having lucid dream. Felt somewhat curious, I kept walking, the windows were opened, and a wind blew in. I walked down and down, until it got pitch dark and the stairs was still going down. Some eyes appeared, like Yukari's gaps. I was like "Fuck yeah" and started running down, hoping to see what I wanted to see.

But no, the stairs was fucking long, so long to reach the end. I stopped by a huge mirror to breath. Then I saw my reflection smiling at me, and behind me was Yukari. She said something, but because she was inside the mirror, I couldn't hear. And I couldn't lipread, so damn, I tried to jump into the mirror. It worked. I was then in another place, a big, long corridor. Like some old european castle, lit with candles and portraits on the wall. There were Patchouli, Remilia, Flandre, Yukari, Eirin, Yuuka, Mima, and 3 or 4 other girls I've never seen before. Their names weren't written in Japanese and I could only recall Mima's:

"Agatha Elisabeth von Berahthram"

Because I was staring at her portrait. Anyway, There was a door at the end of the corridor, decorated with a middle-age-ish magic circle but had a huge Yin-Yang in the middle. The door was attracting me, as if telling me to open it. I ran to it but my legs went heavy, too heavy to even move. Some portraits started laughing, especially Flandre's, Mima's. But Eirin's and Yukari's just staring at me, seriously. I tried to move my leg, but no use, I looked at the portraits, asking for help, but they were either laughed, or stared at me. It was long, fucking long, the longest dream I've ever had, I felt really hopeless. Then I wanted to pee. The urge became unbearable and woke me up.

Strange, wasn't it?

All I remember from this dream was that most of the touhou characters were asleep in the room just outside of the one one where I was sleeping.
And Marisa had Chen's hat in her mouth. I don't get it.

Had a dream that Remilia was my younger sister. As per the usual with my irl sister, we got into a verbal 'fight to the death' which involved me saying how much I hated her and that I would bitch slap her.  Remi didn't think I would do it and said something along the lines of 'you're too much of a chicken to hit me~'.

I wasn't having any of THAT shit, so I turned around and gave her a 3 hit combo; backhand -> grab head and slam it into wall -> headbutt finisher.

With that out of the way, and me talking smack, Remilia sat on the ground for a good minute or two before her face pruned up and she started crying like a baby seal.

...I felt like I my heart was going to twist itself into oblivion...

Lesson = I don't really hate my sister as much as I say...I just hate the way she acts...

I had a dream that a little Sanae just arrived at Gensokyo and was feeling lonely. Iku came down the road and spotted her crying. Sanae asked if they could be friends, and Iku, being the nice lady that she is, said yes. Then Sanae gave her a big hug.

It was quite cute, but when I woke up, I felt like I was reading some doujinshi (Talk about a crack pairing). All the color in my dream turned into black-and-white panels the more I thought about it. Man.

That reminds me of a dream I had a few weeks ago. It looked like I was reading a doujin in the style of Shachiku20002 (same artist who did Bunjutsu FF Fortissimo/Fantasy. It was something of a first person view. The scenario went like this.

1st panel:
"Okuu, will you marry me?"

2nd panel:
Utsuho: "Sorry, but I have Orin."

3rd panel:
Utsuho turns to Orin behind her, who gives her a thumbs up in response.

Oh man, I forgot all about this thread. Anyway, I wrote down a dream I had a few days ago.

I was walking in a field, when I come across Kaguya laying face down in the middle of it. She was dead, so I paid my respects to her before leaving. However, just as I took a few steps away, she revived. She then walked up to me, asking me if I could take her Impossible Requests and have Sakuya use their power to travel back in time so that she could prevent Mokou's father from getting killed. All of this happened according to plan, and Mokou and Kaguya became close friends after that.

I don't know if Sakuya can actually use her powers like that, but it was a great dream otherwise.

Usually I have 1-2 dreams/week where characters from Gensokyo are featured, sometimes only cameo appearances and sometimes they're part of the main plot. And my dreams usually makes sence, the only things that aren't normal is if character from games/book appear, because they usually aren't weaker then the original :x It's a good thing to write your dreams down ~
I often think about to make storys out of them, but well, I'm to lazy.

My favorites thus far... (Is it okay to write that much with my bad english?)
A virus spread worldwide and turned around 90% of it's inhabitants into zombies. I was part of a group of survivors from germany, which managed to contact a few other groups of survivors out there. After we met via trains in Berlin we tried to contact other survivors in Europe - and a few days later - groups from France, Italy and Poland said that they all want to go to Britain because the virus isn't widely spread there; mostly at the area around the "Channel Tunnel", because many other infected people tried to go there. Some people there also said it's like a really big island so we would be mostly safe after getting rid of the infected there... So we tried to go there, again via train.
But there was one thing that made me curious... We had one single train with 3 railway carriages total. But all the people were put in the first two; so I asked what's with the third one. Our leader, an old geezer that looked a bit like Kinzo Ushiromiya from Umineko no Naku Koro ni then told me that "A powerful girl is in there, and she said she wants to help us if we escort her to a quiet place, away from those rotten corpses. Don't go in there, you could startle the witch." (Obviously a L4D reference in my dream ::)).
I couldn't hesitate to look in there when everyone except the guards were asleep, and the one I saw in there was... YUUKA! I was shocked and wondered why someone from Gensokyo is here in our world?.. Why at this time, when something that horrifying like a Zombie Virus Outbreak has happened? I decided to leave the room because I didn't want to stretch out my luck even further, so I went inside my bed an fell asleep...
That old geezer waked me up next morning, said that I should go out with 4 other people to gather some fuel for the train, while the other ones were gathering general supplies. When everyone was away I thought about asking Yuuka if she could help us... And it was nearly a wonder, Yuuka said yes and the six of us went out! I thought about what magic Yuuka is going to use... But unfortunately she "just" took her parasol and slashed to the zombie hordes. A Double Spark would have been much more amazing...
Thanks to her we managed to get much fuel which I and the other 4 "normal" people carried, while Yuuka defended us from the zombies. We were back at the train in no time, only to see that around half of our crew has been overrun by zombies. Yuuka swirled her parasol around and killed the few remaining undeads with normal hits - but we couldn't help the others. Around 25 people of the crew died, just because I asked Yuuka to come with us...
There were a few other train stops, but because everyone was outside the train only 5 people died on our way to the Channel. The only thing that changed is that the zombies grew... more resistant and aggressive. Some of them also showed weird mutations, like a bigger chest or bigger feet. But it looks like that only hinders them more then their rotten flesh to get us.
Well, we nearly reached our destination. We were near the Channel. Surprisingly no one was inside, not even a zombie. We made it to Britain, with only 30 sacrifices... But the problem was that survivors broke the railway, in order hinder more infected people coming. After discussing were we should travel I saw someone outside of the window of the train... It was Yuuka. She was smiling, and went alone to a little town. A few people, including myself, chased her in order to bring her back - but it seemed like she ignored us. When we reached the village there were more zombies then we saw during our whole trip, and that was the last time we saw her... she slashed her way through them, and we couldn't follow her... I only picked up a note which said "Yuuka, usual meeting spot.". I wondered were that is?..
After we went back to the train we saw that everyone already left; there was only another note, this time from the old geezer... It said: "Sorry, but we're short in ressources, and we had to abandon someone, so we took our opportunity. Don't take it personal, ya?".
Then we went out to search Yuuka, because it looked like the safest place in this world is at her side...
That's when I woke up. When there's a sequel dream I'll write it down, I usually have atleast one sequel-dream every half year :x And I don't know if it's ok to write so much down...

There is another one, but I'm to lazy to write it down :/

Suwako is a character in Tekken starting from Tekken 4 if I remember correctly, and I believe that she also looks more and more matured, not to mention taller, in each game.  Yeah, it's a realistic-looking Suwako.

EDIT: The dream is mainly about Suwako in Tekken 6, though I only saw pictures of her and not gameplay footage.

I can remember only 2 or maybe I only had 2 in the first place.

The first one was that I was in this mall/huge building. I was going around checking the shops or other areas. As I made it to the roof, I passed out. When I came to, my head was lying on Reisen's lap. When I looked around, it was like a garden and I realized that top of the building was Eientei. And I was still lying down with my head on Reisen's lap on a bench under a tree with Eientei at the back, kinda similar to the one in Persona 3 with the main char's head on Aigis' lap, and enjoying the moment.

In the second one, I was Yuuka's boyfriend. But in it, it was nightime and we were at the human village. I think a festival or some special occasion was going on since there were crowds of other characters. So what I did was got on top of the roofs and other posts in the village, used my 2 kodachi's to shoot danmaku towards the sky and make them explode into fireworks, while dedicating it all to Yuuka. Everybody was smiling and watching, it felt kidna sweet.

Oh hey, just recently woke up from one today.
Can't remember all of it though, so don't shoot the messenger. :V

Anyhow, the two main characters were Remi and Flan.
Remi was going all nutso-evil and stuff, and starting another incident.
Flan was trying to stop her apparently. I never actually appeared until the very end, like it was a movie almost.
Oddly enough, Flan had these weird creatures that were kinda like Pokemon/Digimon/Duel Monsters.
Only they were pretty sentient, almost like they were her servants.

I remember that one of them got captured by Remi and brainwashed or something, and it eventually got defeated, but didn't live.
The monster that Flan used also failed to survive, which was pretty sad...it was a really heartbreaking moment.
Eventually, all of her monster-things died protecting her, and once she made it to the top of the clock tower where Remi was, the fight began.
The incident Remi was kicking up had something to do with a storm and causing a great danger to Gensokyo.
The fight was like something outta DBZ or something, they were flying, and going super fast and using physical attacks.
It was awesome, yet at the same time strangely tragic. It was kinda like a movie really.
I remember that Flan had about...four or so of the monster-things.

Right about when I woke up, Remi was about to dish a hit that would've won the fight for her, but something blocked it and I woke up.
I'm convinced that what blocked it was me....But I wasn't seeing it from the PoV of the blocker, nor was I seeing it from Flan's PoV.
It was almost like I was watching a movie....

But if Remi was kicking up another Incident again, where were the incident solvers...?

My dreams kinda......cool? I guess...

Ok, so basically, it starts out with me (As my character Rogus) and Yuuka sitting in a big flower field, laughing and caring for the flowers there. We talked about stuff (PLEASE DONT ASK) and we had some fun. Then Ran comes running after us, and saying that Yukari was missing, and if we've seen her. We both shake our heads, and continue to search. After a while, we find Yukari fighting Kora (Another character i created) over the boarders. Yukari was starting to weaken, and so Yuuka jumps in, but starts to weaken as well. Rogus couldnt bear Koras behaviour any longer, and so, he used Oblivion Spark and crushed Kora. Afterwards, Rogus and Ran bring back Yuuka and Yukari to Reimu's place to rest. Yuuka woke a little before Yukari, stretched, and fell right back to sleep. Yukari woke up later and say Reimu bringing her tea. Yukari smiled, and sat up to drink her tea.

Reimu: You ok Yukari, you look like your gonna faint!
Yukari: Dont worry, im fine! Anyway, thanks for the tea....its really good!
Reimu: Oh! Thank you! (^_^) well, im gonna go with Marisa to go see Patchouli! Ran will be here for you. Hope you get better!
Yukari: Reimu!
Reimu: Yeah?
Yukari: ...Thanks...

Yukari and Reimu hug. Rogus and Ran smiled, and Yuuka slept.

Dream end!

...im a very weird person...xD

Let's start with the dream proper and then move on to the boring part then, shall we?

It was not an overly elaborate dream. I was wandering some mostly desolate landscapes, or so I thought. I couldn't really feel myself either, but that's normal to me. And perhaps to everyone. (In dreams I'm an invincible entity mostly devoid of a physical body.) Mayhap that staying on the objective got me into some kind of tunnel vision and caused me to miss the details. In fact, while it all happened yesterday, all that's left is just general ideas.

Still, I did remember the vague feeling that the road ahead was long and very tough, perhaps to the level of unnaturalness. What I found interesting about the dream after I woke up is that I crossed the boundary of dreams somewhere along the way and actually knew that I was dreaming while I was dreaming, in a dream within a dream.

It wasn't actually any of the sick lucid dreaming (or better yet, Inception [I haven't watched this movie though, but I know the rough idea of it]) stuff as the farthest I got on that field was realising that I am dreaming, freaking out and immediately waking up without actually controlling the dreams.

There must have been a reason for my journey. One that caused me to cross from a dream to a dream in a dream and wander into the general area of Yukari's activity. The land on the other side of the boundary of two phantasms was mostly nondescript, too. Like a desert or a flat grassland. Or maybe it was just bright light everywhere. For all I know, it was just as unrealistic as dreams come, but in addition to that, I couldn't actually see much.

I must have actually been blinded by the light throughout the entire dream sequence. I reached Yukari somewhere in the dream within a dream and, skipping the introductions as I usually do (note how I did not even say "hi" to you folks even though it's my first post?), asked her in that funky spoken language we all can communicate in, that conveys thought without words, what exactly I was looking for and how to reach it. She seemed oblivious for a light-purplish blob/ball of light I can vaguely remember but the only thing I remember for sure, other than the fact that it was definitely her, is that she answered to me 'do not think too hard about it'. Quoting word for word, mind you. I was close to waking up at that point so maybe that's why I remember those words so clearly when my dreams become too real, they just make a transition into reality.

The dream then ended as I felt that I had to go to the toilet. But I couldn't sleep for good two hours after that - I was too busy thinking about that dream.

I do not usually think about them at all. I found it worth commemorating as it was my very first Touhou-related dream. Remotely, as it was extremely blank and while the only person in it was Yukari, she only played a little cameo in it, but still.

I am surprised that not so many people are dreaming of her, her being the great manipulator of boundaries between reality and fantasy among others, and all.

You know what? This is the part where you go all tl;dr: the part where I interpret this stuff.

I've been thinking with boundaries a lot recently. There was this person on those forums whose avatar drew my attention as I lurked them, two to three days ago. In it was Yukari standing next to a large ornate mirror with Maribel Hearn reflected in it. I've heard fantastic stories about the connections between the two so I decided to do some research on the Touhou Wiki. What I found exceeded my expectations. The complexity and sheer quantity of connections made it somewhat clear to me that Hearn and Yakumo are in fact the same person somehow.

Then, I checked out the CDs from ZUN's Soundtrack series, and read some of the translations of the short stories from the CDs which were actually pretty much the only canon sources of information about Hearn (I don't read manga, though, so...). Especially focusing on the later stories and keeping in mind what the wiki had to say about numerous and complex connections between Yukari and Maribel, not only did it shift my perception of Yakumo as a character by 360 degrees (on a 3d axis, so it didn't actually end up in the same place - but due to my poor understanding of mathematics I'm not really able to tell where it ended up anyway), it also made for quite a fascinating read as ZUN conveyed some philosophical thoughts through Maribel and her colleague, Renko.

It mostly concerned physics, astronomy, time and real life phenomena loosely intertwined with purely fantastical ideas.

But the most interesting aspect of it was, to me, Hearn. How she somehow managed to transgress the boundaries which lead her to a wonderland.

I like to develop this idea of Gensokyo being a huge psychiatric hospital, a collective consciousness of schizophreniacs disconnected from reality. A beautiful, oniric landscape of a mysterious asylum. That alone is like weakening the borders between reality and imagination, implying a possibility of such world existing to begin with.

And recently I've been putting up with lots of pressure. Despite it being summer, I cannot fully enjoy it as apparently having 3 absences from a certain series of lectures and classes is enough to get me dropped off from the university. This leads to all sorts of complications that just make me wish I could escape the hassle and live in another reality enclosed in a psychiatric hospital like my imagined Gensokyo, or better yet, just die.

It may be that a part of me is trying to reach escape velocity from this reality into another to run away from the world of troubles. And live in dreams.

Well it's unlikely to happen. Besides, you need to live the life for other people, not for yourself. Right? It's harder than it sounds, though. Or maybe unnecessary thinking is making this overly complicated. But probably not. It's simple, just hard.

And that is how a bland Touhou dream caused me to have a short period of insomnia and maddened thoughts.

And as I thought of it, a couple of various images flashed before my mind's eyes: "hard - for Gensokyo residents - for people who don't fit into this world", numbers for today's lottery (can't check them on the lottery's webpage just yet, but if they happen to be 6,7,8,24,36,48/42,.I will be surprised to say the least) - another way to leave the reality safely is to attain some sort of financial security after all, but it's nigh-impossible to get the six numbers correct spot-on, some kind of a border - greenish, slightly hexagonal web of lines made of unknown substance glowing against space or the sky, some famous people who made the difference, and their bios - they were almost all misfits. That's what my psyche tells me, though. Wikipedia may or may not agree. I really should check. The thought that there is a fine line between madness and ingenuity was also in there, too.

Good that I'm surrounded by lunatics - only lunatics or weird people would play these games anyway, yes? Despite ZUN saying in that one IN spell card's comment that he would like to make a game that everyone can enjoy, implying that mostly kids play them (might or might not be a mistranslation, but it might be accurate as well, with all these infamous stories of hardcore Asian players) - I shouldn't be standing out too much with my drivel. Oh God why is this so long?...

Cadrin - Ohohoho. What an interesting possible scenario - we're all mad here. But, as a little thought - Maribel Hearn and Yukari Yakumo are not the same person. That would be silly. (http://i.imgur.com/1Jw2W.png) The original name of that was pleasedon'ttakethisseriously.png and it's a reference, because I am far too referential.

But anyway, twisted people do tend to congregate to Touhou. Nothing wrong with that, is there? So, dreams. I talk to Yukari fairly frequently in mine, but the discussions are always very colloquial - I feel like she's giving me advice with the express goal of some sort of scheme, or maybe just out of the corner of her heart; but then again, who can tell? Anyway, if you haven't tried it yet, writing down your dreams *as soon as you wake up* - that can't be overstated enough, even if it's just one phrase or color or feeling - will help recollection. And recall them you should; if eyes are the window of the soul, dreams are it's messengers.

... By the by. Lunatic mode in this world is trying to create a world like the one we want to escape into. Of course, it involves a lot of effort, and I'm chronically lazy - but that's why it's fun to play it that way anyway. So, welcome to this little corner for Gensokyo expats. Youkai or human, you're definitely welcome here. If you have any other dreams, please do share them. I've been busy keeping my dreams from others recently. More importantly, the good ones I work into my writing; they get shared eventually.

I guess you could say that it's important to accept death. I know I feel that way - but even if you reach that land you look for, it's not really the same if you can't look back and say that you tried your hardest here, right? Of course, I've gotten used to my misery - after awhile of having no job and no future, it just all looks the same, heh. If you want to commiserate, lemme know - it'll be an interesting conversation, I'm sure.

Again, welcome. I enjoyed your thoughts - let me know if you found answers before I do.

I was afraid I wouldn't be able to post in this thread for a looooong time without completely derailing the topic, but my recent dream had a Touhou accent to it, so here I am.

It happened this night, obviously. Gotta write it down while the memories are fresh. I have this annoying tendency to completely forget whatever I was dreaming about the moment I wake up if I do not immediately concentrate on my dreams. Since today was an important day to me and I had to catch a train to another city early, I focused on checking the hour instead when my cell phone's alarm woke me up and lost nearly all of the details but the last, most vivid and strange (and TH-related) accent.

Since my idea of spending days during the summer break redefines "party hard" and brings normal people to shame (although there's nothing to be ashamed of, actually, more like there's things that need to be pitied), I went to sleep at 3AM, as I sometimes do (usually it's 5AM, though, when the sun has already risen for good and it's bright outside). My phone woke me up at 8AM, but I figured I could board the next, slightly more expensive train at 11AM, I reconfigured the alarm and went back to sleep.

I was dreaming about something before the phone woke me up for the first time at eight, but I couldn't remember what either, because I immediately fixed my attention on the alarm and the time, as well as on how to be able to sleep longer without ballsing everything I planned for today up. I'm fairly sure it had no relations to Touhou though, as my mind is set to immediately filter and remember them, so it was not relevant to the story.

I had trouble going back to sleep, being constantly reminded by myself that the cell phone's alarm could go off at any moment and give me another rude awakening. However, after some time, I veeeery slowly slipped into the dream world.

I slept an extremely shallow sleep, just conscious enough to realise I was dreaming again. All I remember is it that the semi-lucid dream was sucky. I did not like it. It was gloomy and dark, or something, and I was not enjoying it at all. You know, not being adept at controlling the dreams (and not entirely aware of my ability to control it, since knowing that you are in the dream is one thing, but learning that you can shape it is a whole different one), I decided I want it to end.

So, I politely requested my subconscious to terminate the dream somehow and give me something better. And what did that little clever bugger do?

It summoned freaking Marisa Kirisame.

It's mildly funny now that I think of it. Marisa appeared out of nowhere, floating in the air. She fired her trademark Master Spark at me and some other person whom I was talking to, although judging by the volume of the beam, it might very well have been the Magicannon.

As the world around me was being obliterated, I looked at the Final Master Spark aimed directly at us. It was mostly white light. There were colours of the rainbow flashing epileptically around the edges. That makes me wonder what is the colour of love. You know, the Love-Coloured Master Spark. What color is it, anyway? Also I wonder if you can get seizures in your own dream. Wasn't nowhere as disorienting as the Porygon episode of Pokemon, with red/blue explosions blinking madly.

Obviously the dream ended then. It's a shame that the only thing I can do with dreams is destroy them instead of building something. Why is that I only gain awareness of dreaming when I want to escape them... Last time this happened to me, I was at school and I gave myself a shotgun. But I did not actually kill anyone, because I strongly believe in pacifism and the buddhist idea of not doing any harm whatsoever to other living beings. I just wanted a shotgun to know I could tear the whole place down. The immediate and abrupt ending of the dream that followed implied that I did.

Yeah, not much to say here or to interpret, because it was a dream that I can't remember with a very specific ending. Kinda fun, though. Marisa is welcome to invade my dreams anytime and steal what little precious thing there are, including the remnants of my sanity (I heard she is lacking it and could use some of it). Wonder if it had anything to do with me crossing over from one dream world to another and asking Yukari for something. Hey, perhaps my subconscious just wanted me to have something to write about for this forum? I mean I did fantasize for a while about how it would feel to have a TH-related dream... without actually reading the topic, just looking at its title at the index.

But, as a little thought - Maribel Hearn and Yukari Yakumo are not the same person. That would be silly. (http://i.imgur.com/1Jw2W.png) The original name of that was pleasedon'ttakethisseriously.png and it's a reference, because I am far too referential.
How do you tell a little thought from a big one? I don't get it.
I'm afraid I can't recognize the girl in the picture. Is that some kind of a reference that I was supposed to get? What would be silly? I also tried to google the full name of the .png that you gave me in order to find out what's up with the pic, but got no results. I'm sorry, but I'm, how do you say it, kind of an idiot. I'd love if you could explain this picture and the idea behind it to me.

twisted people do tend to congregate to Touhou. Nothing wrong with that, is there?
I don't know. For all I know, weirdness is a quality that can be good in itself. It may stem from social stigma, but it gives you the notion that the person branded so by the society might think in some very interesting ways. Meeting people who think differently is cool. Social outcasts are fine, too. We, recluses, are numerous. Not being the only one feels good as well.

Anyway, if you haven't tried it yet, writing down your dreams *as soon as you wake up* - that can't be overstated enough, even if it's just one phrase or color or feeling - will help recollection.
I know that. Thanks for giving me the incentive to start writing them down again. I actually attempted that once because I read somewhere that writing down yout dreams is helpful if you want to experience lucid dreams, but I kinda gave up early. And you do not have to write them down as soon as you wake up, I think. I can reliably hold most memories from dreams in memory for approximately two days tops, after which they just disappear. Well that's how I was holding back the memories of today's dream, although it's only 6 hrs old and there wasn't much to remember.

if eyes are the window of the soul, dreams are it's messengers.
Yeah, of course dreams have meanings ascribed to them by our subconscious. Another thing that is not as obvious as it probably should be is that psychical well-being is as important as physical one. Perhaps we would do well to focus more on trying to understand our dreams... and definitely think more about what's going on in our heads.

... By the by. Lunatic mode in this world is trying to create a world like the one we want to escape into. Of course, it involves a lot of effort, and I'm chronically lazy - but that's why it's fun to play it that way anyway.
Hm? Well, it requires plenty of dedication to beat for sure.

It sounds as if you are genuinely concerned about my interest in dying. Well, I had some suicidal thoughts when I was seven, so I got used to them and I'm not actually going to ever kill myself, no worries. If anything, it's just the indifference. The body and the instinctual mind will always struggle to draw another breath, but the rational mind just cannot care any less. It's that kind of being chill that allows you to keep your cool in the face of being iced, if you'll pardon the slang terms. That means I might as well let myself get killed by someone if that pleases that person. I do not seek death, I want everyone to be happy, but... Well... I have been wasting my life the whole time, letting it all go to waste at hands of another man who sees this as the only solution might just be fine, too. Although killing gets people into trouble more often than it helps them. You know, Buddhism also tells people not to get attached to earthly belonging, I guess life qualifies as well. That's just fuel for the atheists' machine of "science flies you to the moon, religion flies you into buildings", I guess. Ironically, I am agnostic and make up my own beliefs...

Well, the lottery numbers turned out to be 2, 4, 6, 9, 34, 44. Not really close to mine. Most people would not seek justifications for that, but I might as well give a shot while we're at it. Did you know that the theoreticians of quantum mechanics suggested the possibility of reality not having a linear structure but instead consisting of countless branches of alternate universes which may differ in single insignificant detail? That's some wicked stuff if you think about it; it's like philosophy, except it's actual science. I am not going to discuss that in detail because here is not the topic for that, but I sometimes think that the world might just be structured that way. I didn't participate in the lottery despite being told the numbers. So perhaps 'something' chose for me the alternate universe in which the results of the lottery were different for me not to feel too sad or amazed about it. I do remain the kind of guy who is hard to convince to believe in the supernatural. And perhaps the purpose of the reality is to remain real and stable. That's one way to justify it. As I said, most people just don't think about it.

And that is why wishful thinking does not work. Not on large scale, anyway. If our wishes were to come true, the world would become quite frightening and perhaps too tumultuous for us to explore.

I have probably messed something up while describing it, so for more info, look up Many-worlds Interpretation on our very own Wikipedia. Warning: very hard to understand.

Jung would say that being SPAAAAARKed is a symbol of your desire to train your body and mind; the aggressive but confident nature a signal both of self-improvement and of self-doubt. Reich would point out that the open nature Marisa showed was probably relevant to your own feelings about summer. And Freud - well, sometimes a magicannon is just a magicannon!.. Anyway. It sounds like you're used to dreaming and being able to impact the dream in someway, so I imagine that not being able to do so more consciously is a bit jarring, to say the least.

The pic I gave you I uploaded myself, so that's probably why you couldn't find it.  :o Sorry about that. I'd just given it that filename originally as a hope you wouldn't... Well, take it seriously. The character is from a sound/visual novel known as Umineko; if you like mysteries, magic, and character development, you should check it out. The character in question mentions that someone very similar(?) to herself is not at all like her, and that anyone who thinks so is silly. It's debatable if what she is saying is true, false, or designed to literally mess with the player. That sort of thing happens a lot in Umineko. More importantly - one isn't an idiot for not getting strange references.  :)

Anyway, it sounds like you know a lot about dreams already, so my usual torrent of beginner advice will pause for now. I'm kind of envious that you can keep them in your head without a pen and paper or writing them on your computer though - if it weren't for my grimoires journals, I'd probably forget my own name, ahahaha! Anyway. It appears you have an interesting train of thought indeed. I can't claim I've ever felt anything hard to understand, because I don't understand anything, especially not detachment of desire and belonging, or lack of belief! Without my delusions, I'm nothing but someone who writes long run-on sentences on the internet! Terrifying, mortifying! Well, anyway.

I can't be too concerned about you, having just met you - but at the same time, it always seems to me that before we feed the world around us, we might try to pick something to do. Even if things are temporal, or perhaps another dream, if we do not influence the world around us in some way - well, it's like being called to someone else's dream, expectantly, and failing to perform. That's my rationale, anyway. But enough o' that. I need coffee.

I'm very unsure if this was a dream or not! I tend to hallucinate at early hours when I've slept very little, or I have waking dreams.

The last I clearly recall was Yuyuko and Remilia teaming up and challenging me to a Danmaku match. Maybe I did something to anger them, interrupting a flower viewing party? Ate the last of the good snacks? Regardless, they were high above me and started dishing out their best spells. It was even set up like the games! to the far right there were scores and my lives, the works! And the last thing you want to experience are two Final Bosses teaming up and using differently patterned spells on you at the same time. I remember rolling over in my bed as a pathetic attempt to dodge. Ack.

After a while of that unfair cruelty, I came to my senses. Just a dream, just a hallucination. I was a little paranoid of catching Danmaku out of the corner of my eye for the rest of the day T:
