Well, as I mentioned in the 'You know you're addicted to Touhou when..' thread that I made a sonnet about Reimu for English class and got rewarded with a cake for it. Since mentioning this automatically makes me obliged to post it here I figured we should make a poetry thread for the lovely maidens of Touhou Project. Just write a sonnet or other form of poetry about one or more beauty or aspect of Gensokyo and post it here! I'm sure all of you can do way better than me, so give it a try!
As an example for future entries I will now post the aforementioned sonnet here. I hope you guys like it. It might not be that spectacular for people with English as native language...
Never the less, here comes, my sonnet about the Heavenly Maiden of Paradise, Reimu!
(Note: the sonnet contains only a very cryptic description of Reimu. Don't expect a clear and direct depiction of Reimu. I also had to make sure it rhymed and sounded cool, so it isn't entirely faithful to the games. I now notice I may have let the youkai sound a bit too evil :ohdear:)
Alone you live in the home of deities
Existing in a land of illusions
A pure maiden who the holy spirit fancies
Yet you are surrounded by devils and their mad disillusions
You watch over a nature-filled paradise
Its beauty only surpassed by your fair visage
Yet the gods play with you fate via a pair of dice
Sending demons to make this dream a devilish mirage
Your eyes shine with divine power
You use your gifted might to vanquish devil and spirit alike
Your skill and ability makes every fiend cower
But every time a new scourge rises to corrupt your psych
Oh fair maiden of dreams and light
Allow me to wisk you away from this land of blight
Gah, it isn't that good. :ohdear: Now do us all a favor and write up something of true quality.
