　　初めまして、ＺＵＮです。
　　ダブルスポイラーという不思議なゲームを遊んで頂き誠に有難うござい
　ます。
　　どう？　難しかったでしょ？
　　このゲームの位置づけはファンサービスといった感じですので、このゲ
　ームから東方を知った、ってひとはほぼいないと思います。
　だから、いつもより難易度高めにしてあります。

　　みたいな書き方すればそれっぽいと思っていますが、実はそんなに難し
　くないですよねー（本音）
　　慣れた人にとってはステージ数が有りすぎて連続して遊べないだけで、
　それぞれのステージはそこまで苦労しないかと思います。

　　あ、そうそう、今回からカメラが傾けられるようになりました。そのお
　陰で弾消しがかなり自然な感じになって気持ちよく感じらると思います。

　　ちなみにこのゲームの攻略のポイント。
　　１．「順番通りのクリアに固執しない」

　　　ドツボにはまると同じシーンで死にまくってしまいます。
　　　そういう時はさっさとそのシーンを諦めて別のシーンに挑みましょう。
　　　忘れた頃に戻って挑戦すれば、あっさりクリア出来たりします。

　　２．「最後の一枚は粘らない」

　　　ＬＡＳＴの表示が出たら、あと一枚撮影すれば終了ですので、撮影後
　　　の避けを考える必要がありません。
　　　大抵、最後は攻撃が激しいので、溜まったらさっさと望遠で倒してし
　　　まいましょう。

　　３．「ちょい低速押し撮影」

　　　高速でボスに近づいて、一瞬低速を押して撮影するとボスの方を撮影
　　　できます。前作から有ったテクニックでしたが操作性が悪かったので
　　　余り有効ではありませんでした。
　　　今回は、低速と撮影を同時押ししてすぐに低速だけ離しても撮影でき
　　　るようになって使いやすくなりました。
　　　慣れれば瞬時にボスの方向を撮影できます。

　　白々しくあとがきを書いてますが、最後まで遊んでない方でネタバレを
　気にする方はここら辺でこのテキストを読むのを止めた方がいいと思いま
　す。

　　ちなみに「スポイラー」って「ネタバレ」という意味もあるんですよね。

　　それではこれを書き終わったらロマンスカーにて温泉へ旅立ちます。
　　探さないでください。

　　（＊この先ゲーム内容のネタバレを含みます。
　　　　気にする方は見ない）

　　さてさて、皆さん、レベルスポイラーまで遊んで頂けたでしょうか？
　　前作みたいに終わりがはっきりしないと余りにもマゾゲー過ぎるので、
　今回は一応の終わりを用意しました。
　　レベルスポイラーを全てクリアすることで、取り敢えずこのゲームは
　一応のエンドを向かえるという形になっています。

　　レベルスポイラーを出すまでが本編で、スポイラーは後日談の様な形
　です。もしまだ未プレイでしたら、レベルスポイラーが出るくらいまで
　は頑張ってみましょう。
　　レベルスポイラーのプレイ条件は（ゲーム中に書いてありますが）
　　　「レベルエキストラを３シーン以上クリア　且つ
　　　　全体で５８シーン以上クリア」
　　です。

　　最後の展開は秘かに熱いものになってますよね（笑）
　　ライバル同士が技を見せ合う感じを思い浮かべてプレイして頂ければ
　ちょっと嬉しいです。

　　それ以降は余力があったら、クリアしていないシーンをちまちま埋めた
　りするのも良いでしょう。
　　また、第二の記者を使ってシーンをクリアするのも良いでしょう。

　　第二の記者は全体的にみれば文より簡単にクリア出来ると思います。
　（ただ、一部のシーンはかなり難しくなりますが??）

　　あと、これはお約束ですが最後にキャラ設定を書いておきますので
　気になる方は見たり見なかったり。

　　姫海棠　はたて
　　Himekaidou Hatate

　　種族：鴉天狗
　　能力：念写をする程度の能力

　　彼女は新聞記者なのだが、外へ取材に出かける事は無かった。
　　何故なら彼女は念写で写真を撮り、その写真を元に記事を書いていた
　　からである。

　　念写とは、はたての持っているカメラにキーワードを入れるとそれに
　　ちなんだ写真が見つかるという物だった。

　　はたてはそれを便利に思い、家から出る必要性を感じなくなってしま
　　ったのだ。

　　彼女の書く新聞、「花果子念報」は余り人気が出なかった。
　　それはそうだろう。彼女の書いている記事は既に何処かで聞いたこと
　　のある出来事ばかりだったのだ。
　　念写では情報のスピードと新鮮さに問題があったのだ。

　　そんな時、彼女は文の書いた「文々。新聞」に目を付けた。

　　「こんなに出鱈目の記事なのに、不思議と魅力があるのは何故だろう。
　　　他の新聞とネタが被らないのは何故だろう」

　　彼女はその秘密を探りに文の後を付けたのだった。

　　彼女はそこで文の秘密を知った。
　　事件を記事にしているのではなく、文が事件を起こしているのだと。

New Characters in this StB, yeah.

I love how even with 12 stages we're nowhere near 108 scenes. And I think we're out of characters excusing the UFO protags and written works...

1)She's some kind of spirit photographer with a special camera, that allows her to capture images without even having to go outside by using a keyword.

2) She runs a rival newspaper called the [花果子念報], but it hasn't picked up popularity.

3) Wanting to find out Aya and the Bunbunmaru's secret, of why her ridiculous articles manage to get so popular (and apparently spirit photography is old news), she tagged along and followed Aya.

4) She finds out Aya's secret is that she doesn't report on incidents, she causes them.

This game's position is rather a fan service so I doubt anyone will find out Touhou for the first time with this game.

Or so I hope it'll feel like if I write stuff like this. In reality its not that difficult.(Real opinion)

For people who are used to it its just that you can't continuously play the many stages, and I don't think the stages themselves are that painstaking.

あ、そうそう、今回からカメラが傾けられるようになりました。そのお陰で弾消しがかなり自然な感じになって気持ちよく感じらると思います。
Oh yeah, this time you can tilt your camera so erasing the danmaku will feel a lot more natural and better.

　　ちなみにこのゲームの攻略のポイント。

By the way, an easy way to clear this game is.
1."Don't think of clearing it in chronological order."

　　　ドツボにはまると同じシーンで死にまくってしまいます。
　　　そういう時はさっさとそのシーンを諦めて別のシーンに挑みましょう。
　　　忘れた頃に戻って挑戦すれば、あっさりクリア出来たりします。
If you get stuck, you'll keep on dieing on the same scene.
In cases like that, give up the scene and move on to a different scene.
When you come back by the time you forget about it, you might be able to clear it easily.

　　２．「最後の一枚は粘らない」
2."Don't adhere to the last shot."

　　　ＬＡＳＴの表示が出たら、あと一枚撮影すれば終了ですので、撮影後
　　　の避けを考える必要がありません。
　　　大抵、最後は攻撃が激しいので、溜まったらさっさと望遠で倒してし
　　　まいましょう。
Once you see the LAST sign, you only need to take one more picture so you don't need to think about the dodging after the shot.
In most cases the last attack is the fiercest, so once you're charged scope and be done with it.

　　３．「ちょい低速押し撮影」
3."Pressing slow shortly to shoot"

　　　高速でボスに近づいて、一瞬低速を押して撮影するとボスの方を撮影
　　　できます。前作から有ったテクニックでしたが操作性が悪かったので
　　　余り有効ではありませんでした。
　　　今回は、低速と撮影を同時押ししてすぐに低速だけ離しても撮影でき

You can close in on the boss at high speed and press the slow for a split second to shoot the boss.
It was a technique that was there from the previous game, but since the controls were bad there was little use in it.
This time, you can press slow and shoot at the same time and let go of slow and still shoot, so its easier to use.
If you get used to it you can instantaneously shoot in the boss's direction.

By the way "Spoiler" has the meaning of "Netabare" too.*

*Since I couldn't come up with a synonym for spoiler I just used the Japanese for it, which is Netabare(ネタバレ).

Well well everyone, have you played until the Spoiler level?
if you don't know the end like last time it'll be too masochistic of a game, so I prepared a end this time.
By clearing all of the Spoiler levels this game will come to a vague end.

　　レベルスポイラーを出すまでが本編で、スポイラーは後日談の様な形
　です。もしまだ未プレイでしたら、レベルスポイラーが出るくらいまで
　は頑張ってみましょう。

Making the Spoiler level appear is the story, and the Spoiler is sort of like the after story.
If you still haven't played it try working for at least the spoiler level.
The conditions of the Spoiler level is (Although it says in the game.)
"Clearing 3 or more scenes in extra and Clearing more than 58 scenes in all."

　　最後の展開は秘かに熱いものになってますよね（笑）
　　ライバル同士が技を見せ合う感じを思い浮かべてプレイして頂ければ
　ちょっと嬉しいです。
The last buildup is secretly very hot. (laughter)
If you can imagine two rivals showing off their moves, I'll be a bit happy.

　　それ以降は余力があったら、クリアしていないシーンをちまちま埋めた
　りするのも良いでしょう。
　　また、第二の記者を使ってシーンをクリアするのも良いでしょう。
After that, if you have some power remaining clearing some scenes you don't have a bit by bit may be good.
Also, clearing the scene using the second journalist may be good too.

　　第二の記者は全体的にみれば文より簡単にクリア出来ると思います。
　（ただ、一部のシーンはかなり難しくなりますが??）
I think the second journalist should be able to clear most parts much smoother than Aya.
(While some scenes will be much harder though...)

　　あと、これはお約束ですが最後にキャラ設定を書いておきますので
　気になる方は見たり見なかったり。
Also, writing the character settings is what always happens.
People who care could look or not look.

She's a newspaper writer but she would never go out side for research.
For she took picture using spirit photography and used those pictures to write her articles.

　　念写とは、はたての持っているカメラにキーワードを入れるとそれに
　　ちなんだ写真が見つかるという物だった。
Spirit photography was done by putting in keywords to Hatate's camera and she would find associated photos.

　　はたてはそれを便利に思い、家から出る必要性を感じなくなってしま
　　ったのだ。
Hatate thought it useful and soon she didn't feel the need to go outside.

　　彼女の書く新聞、「花果子念報」は余り人気が出なかった。
　　それはそうだろう。彼女の書いている記事は既に何処かで聞いたこと
　　のある出来事ばかりだったのだ。
　　念写では情報のスピードと新鮮さに問題があったのだ。
The newspaer she writes "Kakako Nenpou"* (Kakako spirit news) was quite infamous.
Of course it was, for the articles she wrote were things people heard of already.
Spirit photography lacked the speed and freshness of information.

　　そんな時、彼女は文の書いた「文々。新聞」に目を付けた。
That was when she read the "Bunbunmaru Shinbun" that Aya wrote.

　　「こんなに出鱈目の記事なのに、不思議と魅力があるのは何故だろう。
　　　他の新聞とネタが被らないのは何故だろう」
"This articles is full of bogus but why is it that I feel a strange affection towards it?
Why is it that its headlines never overlap with other newspapers?"

　　彼女はその秘密を探りに文の後を付けたのだった。
In order to find out Aya's secret she began to stalk Aya.

　　彼女はそこで文の秘密を知った。
　　事件を記事にしているのではなく、文が事件を起こしているのだと。
That was when she found out Aya's secret.
Aya wasn't making events in to articles but, Aya was the cause of the events themselves.

Note:
Spirit photography - The ability to photographically print distant images on to a visibly media.
*Kakako - Although I don't know if this is the correct translation, the mountain that Sūn W?kōng was born from has the same characters so I supposed the pronunciation was the same. (Kaka)

Anyway, sounds like SP is Spoiler, and then Hetate isn't actually a stage; it's just like -ending-. Hetate might be in the Spoiler stage, though?

Also, Reimu/Marisa/Sanae are the EX-stage, right? I'm not sure at all on this, but I think so?

EDIT:Actually, now that I've seen the Sanae picture... what the hell is that thing. Maybe she's in Spoiler stage.

Mmmkay after you clear all the scenes in Level Spoiler (unlocked with 3 EX scene clears and 58 clears total), you unlock Hatate to use. Probably. Everything we know so far points to this.

EDIT:Hatate, I spelled it wrong. Hatate Himekaidou, according to the niconico live streaming.

From what I've seen on the livestream... you will not be complaining about this game not being hard enough. And I haven't even seen past Level 7, out of 12+EX+SP.

Aya's camera defaults to horizontal orientation (standard camera). Hatate's camera defaults to vertical orientation (cell phone camera). Small detail, but it's there.

During unfocused movement, Aya's crosshair will point in the direction of her movement. Hatate's will remain pointed at the boss. (Thanks, wouldn't have noticed it otherwise.) (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?topic=5337.msg283329#msg283329)

For both characters, timing out your camera will result in a drop to 50% charge.

After firing, Aya's camera will fall to 0% charge (before bullet bonuses). Hatate's will retain 50% charge (again, before bullet bonuses). (Hm... after playing a bit more, I had Hatate's camera losing all charge upon firing. Switching to Aya and back seems to have changed it back to the way I described it... but I'm not sure which of the two behaviors is the glitch...)

Okay, I've got it now. After firing, Aya's camera will fall to 0% charge (before bullet bonuses). When firing Hatate's camera, note the charge percentage as it ticks down to 0 while you hold out the camera. Hatate's camera will retain [that percentage] - 50%. In other words, it'll retain an amount of charge depending on how long you hold the camera button down, with a maximum of 50% for a quick tap of the camera button. Charge will not drop below 0% as a result of this formula.

On a successful picture, Aya's camera will recharge to a max of 35% depending on bullets captured. Hatate's will recharge to a max of 60%.

On a failed picture, Aya's camera will recharge to a max of 55% depending on bullets captured. Hatate's will recharge to a max of 75%. (Whether Hatate's superior bullet bonuses require more bullets, or if she'll cap out on recharge with the same amount of bullets as required for Aya, is undetermined.)

Aya's crosshair box will shrink as time elapses. Hatate's will (mostly) maintain its size (details, details... it shrinks a negligible amount).

Aya's crosshair will move much more quickly and further away from her sprite. Hatate's will move very slowly, with little distance covered.

Officially, I'll leave details as to the characters' movement speeds, recharge speeds, and hitboxes unresearched, as I have no method to track those in proper detail. Unofficially, they all seem identical to my eye.

Basically, Hatate is superior if you can afford to keep within close range (and her superior recharge will help her keep an aggressive stance where Aya would be forced to back down more often), and she'll suffer in scenes that require long range (haven't played DS enough to come up with a good example for it, but I imagine StB's 9-1 would be borderline impossible for Hatate).

Aside from that, I have a question: does anyone know what pressing L does on the stage select screen? I notice a little key appearing to the right when I do so, but it doesn't seem to actually change anything. (This is where I wish I could read the Japanese at the bottom of the screen.)
