As the title says, whenever I launch these 4 games on full screen, they close right away.
They used to work on our old monitor. (1440x900)
My OS is Windows 8.1, and my new monitor's reso is 1600x900
It's really painful playing Touhou in Windowed Mode.

I had pretty much the exact same problem until recently.
Somehow fixed it by setting the games to run in 640*480 (in the program's options) and changing my screen resolution to 640*480 before launching the game.
Kind of annoying to switch resolution back and forth, but it's quick and I got used to it...I'd be interested in a more elegant solution too, though.

Do other Touhou games work in fullscreen?
What monitor and GPU do you have?

Try disabling desktop composition on the .exe properties.

I would also check what fullscreen settings you have active, like if the window is stretched to fill the screen, or if it letterboxes, etc.
Additionally, does it pop up with an error message after it closes? I would guess it pops up with some D3D error.

Touhou 10 onwards, yes.
They work.
I have a Samsung GT Monitor with 1600x900 reso and 60 Hz, as I've said.
My GPU's an old NVIDIA GEForce 9300 GE card.
The games worked on fullscreen before we replaced monitors.

It's stretched to fill the screen for all games.
And no, it doesn't pop up any errors, just flat out closes.
Sometimes, the process of the game is not immediately closed.

I disabled the DPI settings thing, and it worked!
I don't know why it didn't work before, though, but thanks~
