Overcoat and TrueStar, two of our relatively new members, are DJs on http://areciboradio.com/, and has somehow managed to con them into letting them run a Touhou-themed radio show on Tuesday evenings! Here are a few words from our outerwear overlord.
Hi there Maidens! I'm a relative newcomer on these boards. As you may or may not know, I run a show on http://areciboradio.com/ called "Radio OverCoat" every Wednesday, and every Thursday, TrueStar runs a chiptune radio show called Noise Channel. Well, my playlists have gotten so full of Touhou arrangements I've decided to take them all and put them into one 2-hour show, called of course, "Touhou Tuesday," that I will be hosting with TrueStar! I have a more detailed post up here on KNGI, a network of videogame music podcasts that I belong to. It'll debut next Tuesday Feb 28, at 5 to 7 PM Eastern Pacific US time, and it'll be at that time every week. The Arecibo site has a chatroom as well, so you can talk to us DJs while we do the show! If you can't make it, don't worry, they'll be archived You can follow me on Twitter for more accurate news updates @RadioOverCoat, and TrueStar's radio twitter is @NoiseChanRadio. We may be making a new one just for this show, but we'll keep you all posted. Thanks for listening, chiiiiildren!

Some great tracks played! The chat was pretty full, a good time was had, and even when it ended, no one stopped smiling. You had to end on Hinnacle, didn't you!? XD

This first show was quite pleasant! I'll have to listen to more than a few of those songs again later, and though I'm not a fan of IOSYS in general, Miracle Hinacle was a good way to end the show, I think.
Looking forward to next week's set, and will also try to tune in on Thursday for the Noise Channel too.

I only caught the last half-hour of tonight's show, but what I heard sounded pretty interesting. I'll be sure to check this out in future weeks.
And I think that's the first time I've listened to Miracle Hinacle. Catchier than I imagined. :V

To everyone who made it out to the pilot show, THANK YOU! The response was so positive that OverCoat and I actually got a little nervous. ;) I'm pretty sure this was one of the most successful pilot shows on Arecibo in terms of listener count.
We got some nice requests during and after the show and Reddyne's email was amazing. Thank you!
I know that you can probably just listen to this music on your own, but we hope that we made it a bit more fun for everyone as a live radio show as well as having others to talk with while listening to some music. Hope to see you next week! :D We started up a Twitter account for the show at @touhoutuesday as well.

whole album is amazing but this track was an immediate favourite.
also yay archives. I will probably miss the live shows so it's great to know I won't have to miss out o/ nice choice of songs too. I would recommend stuff if I knew what genres you'd be playing ie is anything welcome.

All genres are welcome. The only requirement is that it's Touhou related. I just registered the show on iTunes, so if you know you can't make the regular live show you can always subscribe and not miss anything. Here is the link to the iTunes podcast:

Despite the odd amount of buffering that went on around the start, that went so well!
So enjoyable; the addition of DtE, Demetori & Tutti was very welcoming; and even then, you still had amazing songs to make it brilliant...
Except for Fallen-Cirno; you should feel ashamed playing that. :derp: Oh, and playing Miracle at the end two weeks running. :3
But yeah, brilliant stuff as ever! I'll be making this a weekly thing easily~ <3

Yeah, glad I tuned in as well. I think it's a good thing that we can have varied genres of Touhou arranges. I'm not a big fan of rock/metal Touhou arranges, personally, but for me the greater enjoyment is seeing the wider spectrum of how Touhou music is interpreted. I hope you can get the lag issue sorted. Hell, take it as a good sign - maybe it came from added traffic!

I only listened to around half of it, but I like what I heard =D. Pretty good variety of genres, and the casters were pretty good xD. I want MOARRR. Too bad it's only once a week.

So, once again, thanks for tuning in everyone! :D We've had intermittent problems with the stream and the manager of the station is looking into another provider. Then again, part of me thinks it's just OverCoat because it always seems to happen during his shows. :p

Just a heads up guys, this following show, April 3rd, since I am on vacation, will be at 3 PM pacific time, instead of its normal 5 PM. So that's 6 PM eastern. It'll be a special episode, because I will be at TrueStar & virt's house! Following this, I am going to a baseball game with them :D
Anyway, just letting you guys know so you don't miss it. The following week we will go back to the regularly scheduled time of 5 pacific.

So, haven't had a lot of real news about the show for a while. It's still going just as strong as ever, and I've had a few interesting music specials since I last posted in here, but I should mention that this next show, on Tuesday, is gonna have a special interview! I was fortunate enough to get in contact with someone so that we could talk about Reitaisai and Comiket, as well as her circle. So expect that, plus new Reitaisai 9 music next week! I'm pretty excited, and I learned a lot from that interview.
