Because we needed a thread for this already.
Also, shady stuff has been happening today.
Oh yeah, #1514183 here.

Really? I haven't been to the site in a LONG time. I started my second run, but lost interest.

The Captain (#91349), the Level 19 Disco Bandit

Yeah Rumble On caught me at the Arrrboretum, and disturbed me a bit. I think it's the first time an adventure's been animated.

What's your account name? I'll check for it.

And clan, if you have one? Or your store? If I can't find the name I'll see if those things are gone.

Actually, I got Rumble On yesterday. There's speculation it's the Heartbreak Hotel opening or the Nemesis quest returning.
Plotline y/n?
Y Y Y Y and Y.

Nemesis Quest seems more likely; word has it some of the images from the nemesis quest changed according to peoples who haven't ascended since NS13.

I've read the KOLwiki discussion page, the end battle dialogue seems to have changed as well.

Oh hey, new announcement just a moment ago.

July 23 - The Scientists of Loathing wish to assure you that the current elevated level of airborne Mystical pollutants and the frequent aftershocks from the seismic events of the last few days are nothing at all to worry about.

Everybody knows that the Scientific society of Loathing is a whole load of bullcrap. The same happened with the asteroid that hit the moon.

Edit: TIME TO RAWK
As in fighting a new monster called Rock Snake.

Rock Snake is lame. What's also lame is randomly getting teleported sometimes WITHOUT TELEPORTITIS.

YES I guessed the pw to my kol account.
I seriously need to start using a single email for pw recovery.

i1440matoiwtk (#1921521), the Level 8 Pastamancer

If the inactivity deletes have stopped, I'll probably take my time completing my run.

fffffffffffffffffffffffffffu

Levelling familiars for the last part of the Tower sux *tear

(Hardcore) Perm Empathy, Sympathy, and Leash of Linguini. Then get Pet buffing spray from the Knob Lab Store.

Rock Snake is lame. What's also lame is randomly getting teleported sometimes WITHOUT TELEPORTITIS.

What? Teleporting? Explain yourself!

Fair enough!

Pet Buffing Spray is still an option. That and familiar equipment should let you get away with only ten pounds. Lemme see if there is anything else.

Edit: Of the things you could theoretically get there are: the Irradiated Pet Snacks (+10) from the second floor of the menagerie, the Bar Whip (+2) from a bar skin and a whip kit, and the Magic Whistle (+1) from the acid blob in the Dungeons of Doom. The pet snacks are a semi-rare, so it may be more a pain than they are worth to get.

Also this may help you train more quickly: http://kol.coldfront.net/thekolwiki/index.php/The_Cake-Shaped_Arena

Oh hey a KoL thread and I'm not posting in it. What.

KennyMan666, #613940. Currently level 23, Sauceror, in aftercore. I really should get back to my regularly scheduled ascending (53 ascensions so far) but now I just need one more cursed pirate item so fffffffffff.

If any of you people are clanless, Random Gamers and Candy which I became the leader of when our former leader and clan creator went to college and got a girlfriend would be glad to take you in. It's a small clan, which has the perk of that the latest Hobopolis dive netted me no fewer than seven pieces of loot.

I'm one of those Hardcore for life people, and I even take it a step further with always going Teetotaler. Because no-path is for girls, sissies and men who just had their ears ripped off.

The whole rumbling thing apparently was mystical. Several spell MP costs have been lowered (Wave is now a 21-MP spell, Geyser is 36), and damage might have been increased.

Saw a guy on the KoL forums with a Cirno avatar a while ago. Sent him a 9-ball ingame because I could not resist.

THERE NOW I HAVE POSTED IN THIS THREAD ENOUGH FOR THE TIME I HAVE MISSED IT. ...what do you mean, the thread has only been around for two days?

BALLS BALLS BALLS.
Just when I decide to take a Moxie ascension. Heh, at least the sand gives +5 Moxie. Not all is lost.

Okay then. I think it has to do with the current plot, because a couple times I got randomly warped to another location while adventuring. For instance, I was fighting in the Sleazy Back Alley once (I think, I can't remember), and then I suddenly end up fighting a Lihc in the Misspelled Cemetary.

I just started playing and it's surprisingly fun for a browser game. Now that I don't have anymore Adventures is there other stuff to do? And when will I get more adventures? I'm a lvl 3 Turtle Tamer.

You get 40 adventures on Rollover (IE: Dialy) and you can eat food and drink some booze to get more.
Also, post your player ID!

Is there any multiplayer interaction in this game?

Title: Re: Kingdom of Loathing - An Adventurer is You!
Post by: Hello Purvis on July 28, 2009, 05:27:09 AM
Chat, Clan Dungeons (sorta), PvP (kinda), and buying and selling things in the mall.

In the traditionally Everquest/WoWz sense, no. KoL was made with the idea of it being single player in spirit, which interaction being a bonus but unnecessary. When you start ascending, you'll be rewarded for shunning interaction.

Garlyle (#1253199) here.  Level 30 Disco Bandit, counting in at 28 tattoos, 37 familiars, and 26 trophies (Including the Big Boat, Phileas Foggy, Duke of Disco, all Elemental trophies (When last I checked), and Black Hole Terrarium.  I grinded the crap out of some of this stuff @_@

Apparently had my two year Anniversary in February... and haven't been on since then.  I think I was meaning to ascend once upon a time (And FINALLY complete an NS-13 run - this one started on the eve of NS13), but... well...
Turns Played (total):   24,972
Days Played (total):   891
Turns Played (this run):   19,366
Days Played (this run):   769

...Oww.  So much for that plan XD

...brb.  Ascending (maybe?).  HARDCORE RUN GO

Well since most of us are already inside clans, you may as well make a newb-friendly clan so you can induct people from here (Or get new players directly).
For Clan Rumpus Room stuff, newbs would be attracted to the Meat Orchid and Meat bush, and the fast-training areas. Note that these aren't the most useful Furniture pieces available, but the ones that tend to attract more newbies (Since they love free stats and meat).
If you're in for the most optimal adventuring Furniture, go with all +Adv stuff (The calendars and books of self-help), the Clan Sofa (To heal generally faster than your dwelling), the Snack Machine (Hay, +30 to a stat, even if it's not for HC is awesome) and the Mr. Klaw (For the lulz and free gift items).
Also, I could send in one of my multis (The fucker's staying on the first ascension just for the lulz).

Post by: Hello Purvis on August 02, 2009, 08:41:44 PM
I would recommend straight +adventures, if only because everyone loves free adventures.

And Mr. Klaw is necessary.

Random Gamers and Candy would be glad to take you in. We're small. If you apply, post here saying you did or something because I don't really want random people.

We sport a meat bush, meat tree, Mr. Klaw, sofa, +7 adventures at rollover and a pool table in the VIP room. Hobopolis and Slime Tube happens whenever someone decides "Hey let's <dungeon>". We take things very casually.

In other news, stupid cursed pirates, drop that third item I need so I can mall my spooky putty.

But I was on hiatus then, so I had to put up a few delicious salads in the mall. And lucked out when the first gave me the tattoo.

I had Ol' Scratch's forks ready and everything.

Yeah, I expected it to take about ten.

ALSO! I just realized this would he hella useful for most of you.

BUFF BOTS!

These are bots. That is, automated accounts set up by clans (usually) in order to buff people up. The way they work is that you send them a specified amount of meat via private message (NOT Trade), and they'll cast so many turns of a buff on you. Usually a about two hundred turns. The amount of meat tends to be nominal; seldom more than 25 for a casting.  It's really just there so the bot knows what to cast. Most of them will cast a buff once a day, but others will multiples. Check the bots' accounts to see price lists. To do this easily, go into chat and /whois botname. Then click on the green text that shows up.

Remember, you can only have three accordion thief buffs at once.

Also, the bots are not always online. If you want to check to see if they are, do a /whois in chat; it'll tell you if they are currently online.

The bots.

-Noblesse Oblige (#594822),
-IocaineBot (#792443),
-KolaBuff (#1061817), the Level 115
-Testudinata (#537858)
-Kingdom of Buffing (#1041876)

That last one is offline the most. But it also has a website (http://kingdomofbuffing.com/) from which you order your buffs (so no sending in meat). It went on hiatus a few months back, but it seems to live anew now.

Enjoy!

Also, you know what happened to KoB's Smile of Mr. A Raffle? It seems to be gone.

Welp. If you're a clubber, you can now smash float sands together to make rocks. If you got enough sands (takes 125, I think).

Also, there are now rock fish underwater. They have rockfish stomachs, with random undersea consumables, and also a live lobster. You can broil a lobster in the Wok of Ages, then mix it with a floaty stone to get a new familiar.
