OCC: First time GM'ing... well, anything. But I've seen a few of the other quest threads, and thought, why not one for the first new character to be introduced in the Windows systems?
---
So Far
You have recalled who your freinds are, Cirno, Wriggle Nightbug, and Mystica Lorelai
You have met Reimu Hakurei, who appeared to be searching for something
You have re-obtained one of your spellcards from Reimu, and found out that she is looking for a book that Marisa stole from the Scarlet Devil Mansion
You found Wriggle, and requested that she asked the bugs if they saw the book
Apparently, they saw Marisa with the book, and then later, without the book, muttering about a crow. Another swarm also had something very fast rush through them between the two sightings of Marisa.
You suspect that Aya is the culprit, and as such, you and Wriggle have headed to 'The big rock' aka; Youkai Mountain.
On the way, you encountered a strange purple thing, which unfurled and revealed a girl in blue after you and her rammed into each other.
You ended up in a breif danmaku fight, which ended with the foe's spell timeing out.
You then made up, and she introduced herself as Kogasa. She is currently leading you to someone she thinks might be able to help you find the Tengu.

>Is it the night of the New Moon?
> I wanted to start this similar to Yukari Quest
> You open your eyes. It is night-time, so you can see just fine. The darkness feild is only really an issue during the daytime, when it becomes a lot harder to make things darker, due to the sunlight, resulting in your powers retracting somewhat, and thus, the orb of total darkness around you.
> You have nothing but your clothing, some scraps of a type of meat, which you forgot the identity of, and a half-frozen frog given to your by Cirno last time you met. It's starting to thaw.
> You have no quests. You are wandering around aimlessly right now. You're sure you'll find something to do, or something will happen.
> Do you want to eat the strange meat?
> You are freinds with Cirno, Wriggle Nightbug, and Mystia Lorelei. Aside from those three, you do not know anyone particually well.
> The moon is currently in the 1st Quarter
> Check hunger status
> You are mildly hungry, as you ate some of the meat you currently have in your pocket a few hours before.
-
>Poke the frog and see what it does
>Have we met anyone that isn't Cirno, Wriggle, or Mystia lately?
>Look around and see if we spot anything unusual
>Raw meat or cooked?
-
> Add quest: Eat a shrine maiden, any one will do.
-
>Poke the frog and see what it does
>Have we met anyone that isn't Cirno, Wriggle, or Mystia lately?
>Look around and see if we spot anything unusual
>Raw meat or cooked?
> Nothing. It is still frozen by and large. You cannot actually poke the frog, it is still encased in Ice.
> You have bumped into Daiyousei twice over the past week, and seen Star Sapphire once, oddly enough seperate from Luna Child and Sunny Milk. Cirno remarked on the strangeness of this sight.
> You think you saw a red and white figure in the sky for a moment. It's gone now. It was moving quickly to the North, which is the direction to the Misty Lake
>Presumed Raw
> Add quest: Eat a shrine maiden, any one will do.
> Last time you tried that, you got your rear handed to you. No way are you gonna try that again. At least, on a Shrine Maiden dressed in red.
-
>Set our sights upon eating a differently colored shrine maiden, then.
-
> Head towards the human village. Once there, take to the sky and pretend to be a nue (not Nue).
-
>Set our sights upon eating a differently colored shrine maiden, then.
> You do not know of the existance of a differently coloured shine maiden, as you have never met her. However, you have heard of a Shrine Maiden who has Green hair.
> Head towards the human village. Once there, take to the sky and pretend to be a nue (not Nue).
> You start to head towards the human village. You notice the red figure leaving the direction of the Misty Lake. You recognise this figure as Reimu now, and she appears to be looking for something, judgeing by her flight patterns.
-
>Let's go find out what she's looking for!
-
>Let's go find out what she's looking for!
> You would consider doing this if you knew what she was looking for.
-
> Fly into Reimu.
-
>Try not to get our ass handed to us again
-
> Fly into Reimu.
> Reimu notices your form flying towards her. Recalling your previous encounter, she dodges, and prepares to throw danmaku at you.
>Try not to get our ass handed to us again
> "Wait, you seem to be looking for something!" you say in a desperate attempt to prevent Reimu attempting to exterminate you.
> Reimu looks surprised. "How did you know that?"
-
>"Well, you were flying around here like you were in a hurry or something..."
-
> 'You looked like you were hungry :D"
> "Do you have any meat?"
-
>"Well, you were flying around here like you were in a hurry or something..."
"A certain item has apparently been stolen from the Scarlet Devil Mansion. I tore Marisa's place apart, but couldn't find it. I'm thinking she might have dropped it somewhere or something. Although, if it's so important, I don't see why Remillia isn't looking for it herself... or even Sakuya..."
> 'You looked like you were hungry :D"
> "Do you have any meat?"
> "I am a little... why did you change the subject so quick... oh wait, I forgot who you are for a second." Reimu says the last part of her statement with a flat tone.
> "No."
-
>"Eeh...Is that so~?"
-
>"Eeh...Is that so~?"
> "Yes. Now, unless you have something useful to say, I have to keep looking for this item."
-
>Do we remember seeing any odd items during our travels?
>"What kind of item is it?"
-
>Do we remember seeing any odd items during our travels?
>"What kind of item is it?"
> Aside from the strange meat, which you think that Reimu would not be interested in, you have not seen any odd items.
> "Oh, maybe you will say something of use after all. It's a book, a large black book, with scarlet fringes." Reimu said.
-
>Think hard about said book.
>Have we seen any books lately?
>"Why are you looking for a book in the middle of the night?"
-
>Think hard about said book.
>Have we seen any books lately?
>"Why are you looking for a book in the middle of the night?"
> You do
> No
> "To be honest, I'm not entirely sure myself. But, it must be pretty important for Remillia to call me over to the mansion personally, so I couldn't refuse."
-
>"Aren't you usually sleeping at this hour?"
-
>"Aren't you usually sleeping at this hour?"
"It was night the only time we've met before. Does my reputation preceed me?"
-
>"Eeh...but wasn't that because of the incident the vampire caused? Maybe she's bored?"
-
>"Eeh...but wasn't that because of the incident the vampire caused? Maybe she's bored?"
"Considering as soon as I mentioned the book with the descripton matching the one Remillia gave me, Marisa fired a Master Spark at me, I doubt she's just bored."
-
"E-eh! Where did you happen by Marisa?"
>Make a mental note to avoid the area where Marisa was spotted.
-
"E-eh! Where did you happen by Marisa?"
>Make a mental note to avoid the area where Marisa was spotted.
> "Her home in the Forest of Magic."
> You make a mental note, although you tend not to head to the Forest of Magic that much anyway, because there are not many humans there at all.
[OCC: Sleep time -_-]
-
>"Is that so..."
>Is there any place we frequent?
((Night sir.))
-
>"Is that so..."
>Is there any place we frequent?
((Night sir.))
> "Yes, it is so." said Reimu, sounding somewhat annoyed again.
> The main places you frequent are the forest you are currently in, which is south of the Misty Lake and SDM, to the west of the Human Village, and to the north of the Harukei Shrine. You also frequent the outskirts of said village, and the Misty Lake.
-
>
What do now?
>"Did you check the human village? Or the Scarlet mansion itself? What if they just misplaced it?"
-
(You're making Rumia sound too smart Sonae :< )
-
>What do now?
>"Did you check the human village? Or the Scarlet mansion itself? What if they just misplaced it?"
"Not yet." Reimu says to the first one. "Of course Sakyua's torn the place apart already." Reimu said to the second statement. She just facepalmed at the third, and began to start moving around again, albeit, slower than before. She had obviously decided to look for the book while talking.
-
> Tag along!
-
>While tagging along, check chest for unusual growths.
-
> Tag along!
> You do so. Reimu appears to not care that you are following her.
>While tagging along, check chest for unusual growths.
> Nope, nothing there
-
>wonder if the book is a cookbook.
>wonder if it has any good recipes for meat.
>mmm.... meat.
>drool at thought.
-
>wonder if the book is a cookbook.
>wonder if it has any good recipes for meat.
>mmm.... meat.
>drool at thought.
> You do all of the above, although you've never particually cared about raw and cooked
> Reimu notices you drooling, and shakes her head. "Are you just attempting to annoy me, or are you gonna be of any use?"
-
>wipe drool from mouth
>"umm. What would you need me to do?"
-
(You're making Rumia sound too smart Sonae :< )
((I knows. I is too smart and cautious myself prolly. Also Reimu is a person I wouldn't want to piss off))
>Are we getting hungry? I'm starving damn it
>Look around for near by food
>Does Reimu have her Yin yang orbs? or her Gohei?
>Do we have a home or any particular place we rest at?
>Do we even sleep?
-
Somehow I have the ability to change posts in this thread ._. Took me off-guard when I wanted to quote.
>wipe drool from mouth
>"umm. What would you need me to do?"
> You do so.
> Reimu looks a little shocked at your offer to help. "Look for a black book with red edges. Get any of your freinds to help if you can, I guess."
(There's a wide world between smart and stupid. While Rumia is certainly towards stupid, she dosen't have to be a complete moron. All we know about her character is that she's not Eirin, and she eats humans.)
> A little
> You do not see anything that counts as food below the treelines. You have the meat, which you still feel like eating right now is a bad idea, and Reimu is technically food, as a human, but she'd kick you rear.
> No orbs are in sight, but Reimus Gohei is in her right hand.
> No. You rest wherever you feel like
> You do not sleep, you only rest for a while.

> Do a \o/ for Reimu and give her a diabetes inducing smile
> "What do I get if I find it for you?"
> \o/
> Reimu seems uneffected.
> "You're asking the wrong person. It's Remillia you should be asking. Do you even know who she is?"
> Reimu thinks for a second.
> "I know, I'll give you back the spellcards I captured from you during the Scarlet Mist incident if you help me. I'll give you one now, and the rest when we find the book, or you show you can be trusted, deal?"
-
>"Are spellcards good to eat?"
>"Okay! Where should I bring it if I find it?"
>How often do we do the arms-stretched thing? Constantly?
-
>"Are spellcards good to eat?"
>"Okay! Where should I bring it if I find it?"
>How often do we do the arms-stretched thing? Constantly?
> Of course not
> Reimu hands you your Night Sign: Night Bird spellcard, as she speaks. "Bring it to Meiling at the enterance of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, that big house at that lake. Or me, if you see me first. If you happen across Sakyua or Remilla... however unlikly it is, give it to them. NO-ONE ELSE." she stresses the last point.
> Generally, you're arms are outstreached whenever they are not in use for anything else. Such as suting your whole conversation with Reimu, up until the point where she just handed you your spellcard. It's your equivilent to having your arms at your sides.
-
>Have we met Sakuya or Remilia before? At least, are the names familiar?
>If the names don't mean anything to us, "Oooh... I dunno what they look like. Could you tell me?"
-
So who taught us about saint s and crosses?
-
>Have we met Sakuya or Remilia before? At least, are the names familiar?
>If the names don't mean anything to us, "Oooh... I dunno what they look like. Could you tell me?"
> No, but you have heard of them from Cirno, who lives on the lake the mansion overlooks.
> "Sakuya is a maid. She's got silver hair and is dressed in blue and white usually. She likes knives. Remillia, who I highly doubt you'll see, will probobly be in some kind of pink dress. She's a stuck-up brat, and a vampire, so you won't be seeing her during the day." Reimu said.
So who taught us about saint s and crosses?
> You cannot remember. You've known about it for as long as you can think back.
-
> "Okay. If I see someone with the book, can I eat them if they won't give it back?"
-
((Remi is a Vampire that's often seen during the day...just to note))
>Do we eat things that aren't human?
>What's our favorite type of human?
-
> "Okay. If I see someone with the book, can I eat them if they won't give it back?"
> "Considering there is probobly more than one book that looks like that, no. Even if it's appearance was unique. No." Reimu said, sounding angry.
((Remi is a Vampire that's often seen during the day...just to note))
>Do we eat things that aren't human?
>What's our favorite type of human?
((Who said the issue was Remillia coming out? During the day, Rumia can't see all that well due to her own powers. Even then, there is no sign anywhere, in canon, that Remi comes out during the day at all. The Mist Incident was to blot out the sun. She has almost no windows. Imperishable Night happens... at night.))
> Yes, although humans are your favorite type of meal, any meat suffices
> Humans that can't kick your rear.
-
>"hmm... where should I look first?"
>examine the spellcard we just got.
-
Even then, there is no sign anywhere, in canon, that Remi comes out during the day at all.
((I see you haven't cleared EoSD then...or PCB))
((PMiSS Directly states she is often seen during the day))
((And If I recall, PoFV shows her sitting next to a window, with the sun shining in))
>"Should I ask Wriggle, Mystia, and Cirno to help search?))
>Do we have a place to store said book once we find it?

>examine the spellcard we just got.
> "Well, I'm tired of looking in this forest,, so I'll move onto everywhere inbetween here and the Forest of Magic. Eespecially the Human Village. You are not going there." Reimu said, stressing the last point very clearly.
> The Spell Card is the one for Night Sign: Night Bird. It basically fires arcs of danmaku, a slower one, and then a faster one, repeatedly. It's your weakest spellcard, but it can overwhelm slower foes if the spray is lucky enough to box them in.
((I see you haven't cleared EoSD then...or PCB))

(See signiture. Not 1CC'ed any touhou game. I only know what I've seen ._.)
> Reimu thinks for a moment. "Figures you know them." she then suddenly snaps her fingers. "Wriggle might be useful, actually. He can control bugs, and they might have seen something! They can cover the whole forest in moments!"
> Your pockets are not large enough for any book over 100 pages, and of A5 size. Of course, you do not know what A5 size is.
> You make a mental note to not drop the book.
>Stop making Rumia sound so smart.
>Relationships
> She's childish, which dosen't mean she's completely stupid
> Your best freinds with Cirno, and freinds with Wriggle Nightbug and Mystia Lorelei. You know most of the noteable fairies of Misty Lake as well, although you are more aquaintances.
> Assemble the 9 Squad. Reimu is getting pissed off at us.
> Wriggle Nightbug should be somewhere in the forest, where the concentration of fireflies seems larger than usual.
> Mystia Lorelei should be somewhere between the forest and the human village
> Cirno should be at her house, sleeping, on the edge of the Misty Lake.
> Reimu dosen't seem pissed off at you anymore after you brought the idea of Wriggle into her head.
-
> Off to the forest to find some glowbutts
-
> Off to the forest to find some glowbutts
> You are already at the forest. However, you leave Reimu, and fly around, looking for the tell-tale light of Fireflies.
> About 15 minuites later, you can see an opening in the trees, and Wriggle is in sight. He has not noticed you yet.
> Your pocket is also feeling very damp right now.
[OCC: Recap of events added to OP, so new players won't have to keep looking as this thread expands]

-
>Check on that meat. Don't want it going spoiled.
>Fly closer, but not too close. We don't want any fleas now.
>Call out to Wriggle once we're close enough.
> The meat is in your other pocket. It's fine. You think you feel some movement in the damp pocket.
> You fly closer.
> "Wriggle!" you shout.
> Wriggle jumps, and then looks in your direction, before flying up.
> "Rumia, it's too late to play, I gotta spend some time with the Fireflies..." Wriggle said.
-
>Huhwut. Reach in other pocket to check.
OH. THAT'S RIGHT NOW I REMEMBER.
>Smile innocently. Tilt head slightly. "Doing what?"
-
>Huhwut. Reach in other pocket to check. OH. THAT'S RIGHT NOW I REMEMBER.
>Smile innocently. Tilt head slightly. "Doing what?"
> You reach in the pocket to check. The frog is now mostly thawed. It's not got much ice around it at all.
> "Talkin with them, playin with them. I have responsibili... somethings as a bug youkai you know!" Wriggle says proudly.
-
> "The red-white told me to find a book for her. And she said you can come help."
-

-
> "The red-white told me to find a book for her. And she said you can come help."
>"Something about how the bugs you know see stuff all over or something~"
>Pull the frog out and stare at it.
> "The Red-White?" Wriggle said, shivering. She also recalled the last beating she got from her... and Yukari. And Ran. Poor Wriggle.
> "Oh, maybe the bugs woulda seen something if the book was in the forest. It'll take a litte while." Wriggle said, before she went down to the ground, and looked like she was focusing. The Fireflies began to swarm around her, and you also noticed various other insects flying towards Wriggle, like envoys from every colony. Not as if you understood anything that was going on.
> This was because you were stareing at the frog almost as soon as you noticed the bugs. Now mostly...
> "RIBBIT"
> Defrosted. Oh dear, it jumped out of your hands.
> And you're in the air.
-
>Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!
>Catch that frog!
-
>No! Dinner come back!
-
>Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!
>Catch that frog!
>No! Dinner come back!
> You dive down after the frog, through the not very-thick swarm of various insects.
> You catch the frog rather quickly. It seems to squirm in protest at being held by you.
> The bugs stop coming, and start to leave. Wriggle stands up.
> "Oi, Ruima, some of the bugs saw something, come down 'ere so I don't have to shout!" Wriggle shouted up to her freind.
-
>"OK!"
>fly down to Wriggle, all while keeping a tight grip on dinner.
-
>"OK!"
>fly down to Wriggle, all while keeping a tight grip on dinner.
> "OK!"
> You float down in your usual Crucifix pose, with 'Dinner' the frog in one hand.
> Wriggle scratches her head, before speaking. "A group of hornets said that they saw Marisa with the book a couple of hours ago. Some fireflys said she didn't have it a couple of minuites later... but she was mumbleing about some 'Stupid Crow', and looked very annoyed. Apparently, between that time, something VERY fast flew in the middle of a wasp swarm."
> Wriggle scratches her head again. "Sounds like that reporter who writes the stuff Misty can't read."
-
> do we know of this reporter crow?
-
> do we know of this reporter crow?
> You have heard of a reporter crow, who writes the Bunbunmaru Newspaper. You, Wriggle and Cirno laugh at Mystica for not being able to read it's print size.
> You only know of this 'Aya' through that. You know nothing else besides her being related to crows.
-
>"hey Wriggle, you or you bug friends wouldnt happen to know where the reporter crow went do you?"
-
>"hey Wriggle, you or you bug friends wouldnt happen to know where the reporter crow went do you?"

-
> "North is all they said, towards that biggggggggggg lump of rock."
>Wonder how Wriggle stretched out her 'g' sound like that.
-
>do we know of this big lump of rock, other than its a big lump of rock?
> You have read about an incident that happened there, that involved Reimu and Marisa. That said... all incidents involve them. Aya mentioned it's name as the 'Youkai Mountain'.
> The other details you forgot. Wriggle seems to have forgotten even more, not even recalling the name of the 'lump of rock'
>"Is that sooo..."
>If we don't know anything about the lump of rock, "D'you know anything about it, Wriggle?"
>... is Wriggle a guy or a girl?
>Would Cirno get mad if we chowed down on her successful frog defrosting?
> "Yes"
> "Uh... it's big... it's rocky... and it's not here?" Wriggle said, clearly having no clue.
> Female. She's just smart enough to figure out Flying + Skirt = bad idea. And she's a bit of a tomboy. She spends most her time around bugs after all.
> Cirno would probobly have forgotten all about the frog, and frozen another five. She only cares about defrosts caused by herself. This one was natural.
>Wonder how Wriggle stretched out her 'g' sound like that.
> Bi-ggggggggggggggggggggggggg. It sounded more like Wriggle said Bi followed by a long 'g' sound. Of course, you don't know that Wriggle was doing it wrong.
-
>Get ready to move out?
>First though, what should be do with the squirmy amphibian.
-
>Get ready to move out?
>First though, what should be do with the squirmy amphibian.
> You do not know where to go. The big lump of rock is big, after all.
> You do not know what to do with the frog. That is for you to decide.
> Wriggle looks displeased as the frog eats a fly.
-
>Clamp the frog's mouth shut.
>"Bad Dinner! No eating Wriggle's friends!"
-
>Clamp the frog's mouth shut.
>"Bad Dinner! No eating Wriggle's friends!"
> You clamp the frog's mouth shut.
> *Croak...*
> "Bad Dinner! No eating Wriggle's friends!" you shout at it.
> *Ribbit*
-
>Hold the frog tight enough so that it can't escape.
>Fly up and look for the big rock
-
>Hold the frog tight enough so that it can't escape.
>Fly up and look for the big rock
> You are already doing so. Otherwise, it would have escaped by now.
> You do not need to fly up to see where the big rock is. The problem is... it's big. That's a whole lotta rock to look over for one crow!
-
> Get closer and look for inhabitants on the big rock to ask for directions.
-
> Get closer and look for inhabitants on the big rock to ask for directions.
> You fly off, heading for the big rock.
> It's far away. You keep flying towards it but it dosen't seem any closer. This could take a while.
> You notice Wriggle is following you. [Wriggle has joined the Party! You may give commands to Wriggle]
-
((Oooh~))
>Turn and look towards Wriggle.
>"Are you gonna help search too?"
-
((Oooh~))
>Turn and look towards Wriggle.
>"Are you gonna help search too?"
> You turn towards Wriggle, now flying backwards.
> "Are you gonna help search too?" you said.
> Wriggle nods. "It's an adventure!"
-
> "Yay adventures!"
-
> "Yay adventures!"
> You and Wriggle share your excitement by shouting about adventures as you fly.
> Dinner the Frog does not seem excited. Although it seems to have stopped squirming as much.
-
>"come on Dinner. show a little more enthusam." > turn back around so we can see where we're fling we wouldn't want to fly into a tree now would we?
-
>"come on Dinner. show a little more enthusam."
> turn back around so we can see where we're fling we wouldn't want to fly into a tree now would we?
> Dinner does not respond.
> You turn around. Although, you are above the treeline, so that's not much of a worry.
> You see a large red eye on a purple thing flying in front of you. There is also what appears to be a tounge on this eggplant shaped thing floating in front of you. It's floating at a speed that keeps the distance equal.
> Wriggle dosen't seem to have noticed it yet.
-
>Have we had any eggplants before?
>Get closer!
-
>Have we had any eggplants before?
>Get closer!
> No. You are a carnivore!
> You attempt to, but it picks up speed. The tounge appears to blow a raspberry as the distance equals back to what it was.
-
>If we're losing Wriggle, slow down a bit.
>"What is that?"
>Point at thing.
-
>If we're losing Wriggle, slow down a bit.
>"What is that?"
>Point at thing.
> Wriggle is keeping up fine, although the fireflies are not doing quite as well, forming a trail of lights behind the bug Youkai.
> "What is that?" you say, pointing at the weird object.
> "Dunno." Wriggle says
> Suddenly, the object flys at you and Wriggle!
-
>How fast is this object flying towards us?
-
>How fast is this object flying towards us?
> Ramming Speed
-
Rumia
>"Yay! Maybe it wants to play tag!"
>Ramming speed! All engines, full steam ahead!
>Then wonder why we were thinking in nautical stuff, we don't even know anyone with a ship....Are ships tasty?
Wriggle
>"...Rumia, sometimes I wonder about you..."
>Our friend sure is weird at times, but it's a good weird.

> You charge towards the weird object. AT RAMMING SPEED
> CRASH!
> Both you and the object recoil. Dinner is knocked flying out of your hand.
> "Sometimes I worry about you Ruima." Wriggle says, thinking despite the weirdness, Ruima is a good pal.
> The weird object unfurls from the bottom, and opens up.
> "SURPRISE!" shouts a blue girl, now appearing to hold the 'eggplant' as an umberella. Not that you know what an Umberella is.
-
> Attempt to chew on it
-
> Attempt to chew on it
> You fly towards the being, mouth open.
> She smacks you on the head with the end of the umbrella's handle, which, oddly enough, has a shoe on it.
> Meanwhile, Dinner keeps falling.
-
>Glowbug: catch the frog. Rumia must be holding onto it for a reason. (. stupid phone)
-
>Glowbug: catch the frog. Rumia must be holding onto it for a reason. (. stupid phone)
> Wriggle decides that it is a good idea to catch the falling frog.
> You do so, just before it enters the treeline. And quickly hold it's mouth shut as it attempts to eat one of the fireflies.
-
>meateater: hold head in hands "Owwww... why did you hit me? > lord of the flies: fly back up to Rumia. keep the frogs mouth shut.
-
>meateater: hold head in hands "Owwww... why did you hit me?
> lord of the flies: fly back up to Rumia. keep the frogs mouth shut.
> "Owchie... why'd ya do that?" you ask.
> "I musta surprised you! There's a show on it! I kicked you with an Umbrella! You're surprised, right? That said, you did look like you were gonna bite me..." the being said.
> Wriggle flies back up to Ruima's side, with Dinner's mouth still shut.
-
> "Are umbrellas things I'm allowed to eat?"
-
> "Are umbrellas things I'm allowed to eat?"
> "What? NO! You can't eat me!" the being says, moving the umbrella so it now is tilted away from you and Wriggle.
-
> "Is that so~?"
> Glomp her
-
> "Is that so~?"
> Glomp her
> "Yeah." the being says.
> You rush towards her to glomp her.
> You get Umbrella-kicked again, swung like some sort of drop-kick. It hit harder. A lot harder. Your vision actually blurs for a few moments.
-
>Bigmouth: " well getting kicked in the head by a stick is surprising, yes." >bug girl : to rumia " i belive that this belongs to you." hold out frog
-
>Bigmouth: " well getting kicked in the head by a stick is surprising, yes."
>bug girl : to rumia " i belive that this belongs to you." hold out frog
> After you recover, you comment about the surpise of being kicked in the head by a stick.
> The girl in blue goes "SQUEEEEEEEEE!", and looks all happy, and blushes a bit. "I did it!" she says.
> Wriggle offers you Dinner back, and you take it.
-
>Carnivore: "you did what?"
>examine this strange being.
>Insect Queen: wonder what is going on.
-
>Carnivore: "you did what?"
>examine this strange being.
>Insect Queen: wonder what is going on.
> "I surprised you!" the being said.
> You examine the 'Squeeeeeeeeee!' ing being. She is red in the face, and wears mainly blue and white. She also has blue hair. You also notice one eye is red, and the other blue, both not normal coulors. She is holding what she calls an umbrella, which was acting like some sort of shell for her before. And a weapon now.
> Wriggle has no idea what is going on, between Ruima's quick recovery of getting hit that hard, and this weird being's... everything. Everything she's done is weird.
-
>devourer of animals: "why would you want to surprise me?"
>bug juice: wonder why everything is so weird tonight.
-
>"Are surprises always this painful?" Emphasize by holding head in hands again.
-
>devourer of animals: "why would you want to surprise me?"
>bug juice: wonder why everything is so weird tonight.
> "It's what I do. I surprise things!" the being said.
> Wriggle has no idea.
>"Are surprises always this painful?" Emphasize by holding head in hands again.
> The being thought. "That wasn't a surprise. That was me stopping you from eating me!" she then paused again...
> "Although, if you think that was a surprise, I'll give you a lot more! Surpriseing is what I do!" she said, pulling out a spellcard.
-
>Rumia:"is that so? Wriggle watch over Dinner" toss Wriggle Dinner
> how far can we expand our sphere of darkness?
>is the being directly infront of us? if so how far?
>Wriggle: catch Dinner
-
>Wriggle: "Whoa.. no need for that!"
-
>Rumia:"is that so? Wriggle watch over Dinner" toss Wriggle Dinner
> how far can we expand our sphere of darkness?
>is the being directly infront of us? if so how far?
>Wriggle: catch Dinner
> You are about to ask that, but Dinner does something unexpected. It hops into your pocket. It seems that Dinner knows what's about to happen.
> Your ability is the manipulation of Darkness. The whole area is filled with darkness. Manipulation of your aura of darkness is pretty pointless, due to this. It's more an evening, morning, or daytime ability, ironically.
> The being is roughly ten feet in front of you.
>Wriggle: "Whoa.. no need for that!"
> Wriggle makes clear her dislike of the situation
- OCC Note: Rumia only had her Spellcards taken because when Reimu encountered her, her intention was clearly eating humans. Youkai like Wriggle and Kogasa, who did not have these intentions, did not suffer that punishment. You do not know what Spellcards Kogasa has on her, but Wriggle has all of hers.-
-
>can we make it so kogasa can not see, due to darkness?
-
>can we make it so kogasa can not see, due to darkness?
Who is Kogasa, you've not been introduced
> Being, presumerably, a Youkai, no, as she should be able to see in the dark. If it was daytime, it might disorient her breifly as her eyes adjusted, but not at night.
-
(well plan a just went out the window)
>wriggle: examin spell cards on hand.
-
(well plan a just went out the window) >wriggle: examin spell cards on hand.
> The first spellcard you have is Firefly Sign: Meteor on Earth. It's a tricky spellcard. which fires strings of danmaku that 'collapse' while fireing some at the foe.
> The second is Lamp Sign: Firefly Phenomenon, which, in a nutshell, fires outwards spreading rings of danmaku, white fireing some towards the target too. There also also occasional 'showers' instead of rings.
> The third is Wriggle Sign: Little Bug Storm. It shoots out a rinf of stationary danmaku, which then start to move, in a way which overlaps each other.
> Your final card can only be used when your other ones are used up, your 'Last Spell'. Hidden Bug: Hermit of an Endless Night. It's basically an amp-ed up version of Little Bug Storm.
Generally, however, your attacks are just focused on ring-like patterns, and as such, are rather easy to dodge. The exception is Meteor on Earth, which can be evaded with a mere sidestep.
> You also have Wriggle Sign: Wriggle Kick. But that only works on a foe who dosen't know you're there. So is useless.
-
>Rumia: fly down into the trees below. so we are at lest out of sight.
>Wriggle: sigh this is going to be one of thoughs nights.
> move in and declare Lamp Sign: Firefly Phenomenon.
-
>Rumia: fly down into the trees below. so we are at lest out of sight.
>Wriggle: sigh this is going to be one of thoughs nights.
> move in and declare Lamp Sign: Firefly Phenomenon.
> No way are you going to leave Wriggle to fight this all alone. You still have one SpellCard, and there's always your nonspells! Wriggle dosen't even seem to want to fight!
> Wriggle sighs, knowing this is gonna be a long night.
> The mysterious foe activates the card she had in her hand: Large Ring: Umbrella Halo. After declareing it, she begins to spin the Umbrella, unleashing halo-like waves of danmaku from it's edges. Luckily, the attack has a blatently obvious way to dodge, the weakness being in the very shape of the attack.
> Wriggle activates her Spellcard as well, Lamp Sign: Firefly Phenomenon, and begins to launch ripples of danmaku at her foe.
> Oddly enough, both attacks seem to focus around rings of danmaku coming from their user, although Wriggle's spell also shoots some aimed shots, the foe just dodges them with ease.
-
>Rumia: stay on the out side fornow and circle around so we are behind the attacker. >Wriggle: kkeep firing, dodgeing when needed, advance toward the attacker if possible
-
>Rumia: stay on the out side fornow and circle around so we are behind the attacker.
>Wriggle: kkeep firing, dodgeing when needed, advance toward the attacker if possible
> You attempt to circle around the attacker, but the attack is a 360 degree spray along the horizontal axis, so the rear is no safer than the front. You get clipped a few times as you weave between the danmaku, bit nothing serious. What's more, the foe tilts her umbrella to adjust the aim when need be.
> Wriggle keeps fighting, most of her danmaku collideing with incoming from the foe, and cancelling out. However, Wriggle's spell is being pushed back, simply due to her bullets being slower. The only thing keeping her in it is her aimed bullets, which the foe has to keep moving to dodge when they are fired. Advance is impossible. In fact, if the distance was closed to five feet, dodgeing would be outright impossible.
-
>Rumia: fly lower and advance as close as we feel is safe and unleash our nonspellcard danmaku at the attackers back.
> Wriggle: dont letup keep firing.
-
>Rumia: fly lower and advance as close as we feel is safe and unleash our nonspellcard danmaku at the attackers back.
> Wriggle: dont letup keep firing.
> You fly lower, and then get into a blind spot! Although right below the attacker! You unleash a narrow clone-like blast of danmaku, and the foe has to move quite a bit to dodge it.
> Wriggle keeps fireing. The movement forced by Ruima allows Wriggle's spell to push back, although, it's not broken through yet.
> Both the foe and Wriggle start looking anxious. You notice the runic ring that extends around Wriggle when she uses a spell is retracting quickly. No such ring seems to exist for the foe.
-
>Rumia: a blind spot eh? move in as close as we can and unleash Night Sign: Night Bird on the attacker from below.
>Wriggle: keep firing, prepare to start dodgeing when our spell times out.
-
>Rumia: a blind spot eh? move in as close as we can and unleash Night Sign: Night Bird on the attacker from below.
>Wriggle: keep firing, prepare to start dodgeing when our spell times out.
> You move in, to attempt to attack the blind spot, but the foe realises, and moves to keep you out of it.
> The chimes get louder and...
> The foe's spell vanishes! Wriggle's spell rushes fowards, and you use the chance to unleash Night Sign: Night Bird as well.
> Only a few of Wriggle's danmaku make it to the foe before Wriggle's spell times out, but it's enough for your own spell to hit the foe.
> "I hate you..." the being said, in a wimper. She didn't look hurt, except a few scorches, but she did look upset.
[I checked the times for the spells. Kogasa's lasts 30 seconds, and Wriggle's is 31. Hence why both looked worried]
-
> "Yay we beat you! So you have to listen to us now."
-
> "Yay we beat you! So you have to listen to us now."
> "I could *sniff* always pull out another card... but I *sniff* have bad experiances with Timeouts." the being said. She was on the verge of tears. "Why do I always lose!" she cried.
-
> Hugs and headpattings
-
> Hugs and headpattings
> You move to do so. The being flinches, and then adjusts the umbrella so you are patting that.
> Weirdly, she looks happier while you are doing that.
-
>Wriggle: fly over to the hugging pair.
>Rumia:"Its ok. It was two on one. to be honest, we dont win much either. Right Wriggle?" continue hug.
>hold back urge to nibble.
-
>Wriggle: fly over to the hugging pair.
>Rumia:"Its ok. It was two on one. to be honest, we dont win much either. Right Wriggle?" continue hug.
>hold back urge to nibble.
> Wriggle flies over.
> "It's OK. It was two on one. To be honest, we don't win much either. Right Wriggle?" you said.
> Wriggle nods. "Cirno's the strongest, she beats us all the time."
> You have no urge to nibble a fellow youkai, at least, not now.
> "Kogasa..." the blue thing said, in a whisper.
-
>Rumia: "Nice to meet you, Kogasa. Im Rumia".
> Wriggle: nod "Wriggle."
>Rumia: put on cute face "Group hug Wriggle?"
-
>Rumia: "Nice to meet you, Kogasa. Im Rumia".
> Wriggle: nod "Wriggle."
>Rumia: put on cute face "Group hug Wriggle?"
> You introduce yourselves. Wriggle seems a little more weary than Rumia. Or she's just a little worn out.
> You all hug Kogasa. She squirms a bit, not really being able to hug while holding the umbrella. So she closes it on you for her substitute.
> "So, whatcha doing here anyway Ruima and Wriggle?" Kogasa asks.
-
>"We're going on an adventure!"
>...(Wriggle)"To that big rock, over there."
-
>break the hug
Meat: "we're hunting crow!"
Pants wearer: "We are looking for the reporter crow, she apparently took a very important book. Last the bugs saw her, she was heading to the big lump of rock" point to big lump of rock. " However we dont know where she is on it. You wouldnt happen to know where we might find her?"
-

> You break up the hug.
> "We're going to the big rock to hunt crows!" you say.
> "Apparently Aya stole a book from Marisa who stole from the Scarlet Devil Mansion." Wriggle explained, before adding, "Do you know where she is?"
> Kogasa shook her head. However, she thought for a moment.
> "I dunno where those Tengu things live on the mountain. But I do know a local who might be able to help." she said, before mentioning for Wriggle and Ruima to follow her.
-
>Follow!
>How hungry are we? Eat some mysterious meat if we are hungry enough. Make sure to let everyone see how satisfied you are if you do.
>How is Dinner doing?
-
>Follow!
>How hungry are we? Eat some mysterious meat if we are hungry enough. Make sure to let everyone see how satisfied you are if you do.
>How is Dinner doing?
> You do so
> Oddly enough the excitement has made you not hungry! Blame adrenaline.
> You check your pocket. Dinner appears to have made itself comfortable, and is sleeping now.
-
Rumia: "can we be friends?"
Wriggle: "so who is this local anyway?"
-
Rumia: "can we be friends?"
Wriggle: "so who is this local anyway?"
> "What's a freind?" Kogasa asks.
> "A kappa. I tried to surprise her while she was workin on some sort techy thing. She danmaku'ed me. But I'm sure she knows the area well, I've heard the kappa have been livin on Youkai Mountain forever!"
-
>(W)"They're... uhh..."
>(R)"Friends do fun stuff together!"
>(W)"Yeah. You can put it that way. For instance, me all these fireflies behind me are friends! And Rumia is a friend too!"
>What do we know about said kappa?
-
>Rumia:"so can we be freinds?" put on cute face.
>Wonder if Kappa taste good.
-

>What do we know about said kappa?
>Rumia:"so can we be freinds?" put on cute face.
>Wonder if Kappa taste good.
> Kogasa listens.
> "Everyone I meet kinda tries to beat me up. But if it means you won't beat me up again, then yay!" Kogasa says.
> Absolutely nothing. You do not even know what a Kappa is.
> You do wonder if they are edible, and how they taste. However, you doubt you could eat her, seeing as she 'Danmaku'ed' Kogasa.
-
cross arms: "Yay! we're now friends. now we can do friend things!"
Bug boy girl: "How far is this person anyway?"
-
cross arms: "Yay! we're now friends. now we can do friend things!"
Bug boy girl: "How far is this person anyway?"
> Kogasa smiles.
> "They live on the mountain, by the river that runs down it. Seeing as you're going there anyway..."
> She suddenly stops.
> "Oh yeah, I better warn you. There's a crow there, BUT IT'S NOT THE ONE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR. If you annoy her... it's gonna hurt. It still stings from where I tried to surprise her..." Kogasa said, sounding very serious for the first time since you met.
-
>stop as well
Lamp holder: "ummm... who is that? could you describe her?"
Predator: "What happend?"
-
>stop as well
Lamp holder: "ummm... who is that? could you describe her?"
Predator: "What happend?"
> "She has large wings, a weird thing on her arm, and a cape." Kogasa said, in reply to Wriggle.
> "She kinda fired mini-suns at me. They hurt, a lot." she said, to Rumia's question.
-
>Sounds like someone we really don't want to meet, especially if she can make stuff that's just like the Sun.
-
> have we heard of anyone fitting this description?
-
>Sounds like someone we really don't want to meet, especially if she can make stuff that's just like the Sun.
> "She sounds scary!" you say.
> have we heard of anyone fitting this description?
> You recall a recent incident covered in the Bunbunmaru recently that mentioned the words 'Hell Crow', and 'Sun'. A kappa called Nitori, and Marisa were also mentioned, when you come to think of it.
-
>"why is she there anyway?"
-
>"why is she there anyway?"
> "Dunno. I only went there to surprise them. I was too busy getting Danmaku'ed the rest of the time." Kogasa said, as you kept flying towards the mountain.
-
> "Well even if we do
meat meet her, you have nothing to worry about."
-
> "Well even if we do meat meet her, you have nothing to worry about."
> "I dunno, she was really strong..." Kogasa said.
> By now, you could begin to make out trees on the lower part of the big rock.
-
>"That mabey so, but we have onething she does not."
>have we been out this far before?
-
>"That mabey so, but we have onething she does not."
>have we been out this far before?
> Kogasa looks confused at your statement, and says nothing
> No, you have not. While you do usually wander about, you often don't go *that* far from the Misty Lake, or the forest surrounding it.
-
>smile
>"Friends. With friends backing you up, nothing is impossible."
>"Right Wriggle?"
-
>smile
>"Friends. With friends backing you up, nothing is impossible."
>"Right Wriggle?"
> Kogasa looks a little bit confused, and says nothing.
> "Uh... yeah?" Wriggle says. It's not like you two, and Mystica teamed up could ever beat Cirno if she got serious...
-
>Wriggle: wonder whats with the friendship speeches
>Eats Meat: "Are we there yet?"
>do we even see the river yet?
-
>Wriggle: wonder whats with the friendship speeches
>Eats Meat: "Are we there yet?"
>do we even see the river yet?
> You've been wondering for a long time...
> "Are we there yet?"
> "No."
> "Are we there yet?"
5 mins later...
> "Are we there yet?"
> "YES!" Kogasa says, as a river comes into veiw. There are trees along most of the river, but there appears to be a clearing, which some weird structure there. Kogasa is heading for it.
-
>"hurray!!"
> Examine the weird structure
-
>"hurray!!"
> Examine the weird structure
> "Hurray!!" you shout. Everyone does indeed put a spurt of speed on.
> As you approach it, you realise the weird structure is shiny. It's also quite large, and there apears to be black lines on the ground spreading out from the structure. There is also a big yellow and black symbol on it.
> "What are you three doing here?" asks a voice from behind. You seem to hear a whirring and buzzing sound from the same direction, and a faint light is casting a shadow from the same direction. "If I don't like the answer, ya gonna get a faceful of nuclear fusion."
-
>turn to face the new voice.
>put a smile on our face and say "Hi, We're looking for the kappa. Do you know where she is?"
-
>turn to face the new voice.
>put a smile on our face and say "Hi, We're looking for the kappa. Do you know where she is?"
> You turn. You see a rather large person who looks like a young woman. In her chest, she has a red thing with a black line. On her left arm is some sort of golden thing, and the matching foot seems like it's made of stone. She large large back wings, and a cape which seems to twinkle like stars. Overall, she seems pretty intimidateing. Especially with the golden thing pointed at you, and glowing.
> "Hi. We're looking for the kappa. Do you know where she is?" you said, with a look that could infect people with diabetes.
> The glowing goes down.
> "Ok, good, ya not Youkai who wanna attack the plant. I've been working my tailfeathers off for 6 months with that Kappa on that thing." the stranger said, before she floated to the ground.
> "Follow me. But one sign of trouble..."
-
"don't worry I don't eat plants! I only eat meat!?
-
>follow her
>"So whats your name?"
>what are Wriggles and Kogasa reactions to this stange woman.
-
"don't worry I don't eat plants! I only eat meat!?
> "Wait what? How does not eating plants have anything to do with this?" Wriggle asks.
>follow her
>"So whats your name?"
>what are Wriggles and Kogasa reactions to this stange woman.
> "I'm Utsuho Reiuji. Hell Crow that ate a God." she said.
> Wriggle seems cautious. Kogasa seems scared probobly because she's faced the might of Utsuho before.
-
>"You said you thought we were attacking your plant."
-
>to Utsuho, "Im Rumia, thats Wriggle, and this is Kogasa."
>"You ate a god? whats it taste like?"
>"Can we be friends?"
-
>"You said you thought we were attacking your plant."
> You point this out to Wriggle. She's not that bright after all. That said, neither are you.
>to Utsuho, "Im Rumia, thats Wriggle, and this is Kogasa."
>"You ate a god? whats it taste like?"
>"Can we be friends?"
> "I already know Kogasa, although not by name. She screamed like a sissy when I burned her." Utsuho said.
> "It tickled on the way down. It tasted awful, to be honest. It was borderline cannibalism too, after all. Except it was a God-Crow."
> "No. I'm not here to entertain little kiddies. If I was, I'd be underground still." Utsuho said, sounding stern... but there was a hint of sadness in her voice
> "Hey, Utsuho! Who are those three?!" said a voice.
-
"Whats Cannibalism? You used to be underground? Isn't it dirty down there? And we aren't that little! The shrine maiden even said we could eat people that work at night!"
-
"Whats Cannibalism? You used to be underground? Isn't it dirty down there? And we aren't that little! The shrine maiden even said we could eat people that work at night!"
> "It's when you eat your own kind. I ate a Crow-God. I am a Raven. Close enough."
> "Yeah. I used to live in Hell."
> "Not really, as long as you're inside the city. Or the magma pits."
> "You're little to someone like me. Especially when you factor in these!" the raven said, pointing to her large wings.
> "I really doubt that." said the other voice. Sounding somewhat annoyed at being ignored.
-
> to self: didnt the red white say we couldn't eat people?
>put on our overly sugary smile and turn to face the new voice and say "Hello!"
-
> to self: didnt the red white say we couldn't eat people?
>put on our overly sugary smile and turn to face the new voice and say "Hello!"
> Remember that the Red-White indeed said you CANNOT eat people. Which is the oppsoite of what you said.
> You turn to the new face with your Diabetes-Induceing one. "Hello!"
> You see someone about your size, clad in blue. She seems to have a gold key dangleing from her neck, and something strapped to her back [You can't see it, it's behind her!] She also wears a green hat with a small snake printed on it.
-
>"Is she the kappa, Kogasa?"
>if so then introduce yourself.
-
>Wriggle: "Rumia, she was talking about a power plant."
>Rumia: "A power plant? Does that mean you get stronger if you eat it?"
>Wriggle: Facepalm.
-
> Remember that the Red-White indeed said you CANNOT eat people. Which is the oppsoite of what you said.

Is what I was talking about..though Reimu was probably kidding..?
Anyway.
"Are Kapa frogs? I have a frog!"
-
> "Considering there is probobly more than one book that looks like that, no. Even if it's appearance was unique. No." Reimu said, sounding angry.
(we asked earlier if we could but Reimu said no.)
-
>"Is she the kappa, Kogasa?"
>if so then introduce yourself.
> "Yeah. That's the Kappa." Kogasa says.
> "Hi! Im Ruima. That there's Wriggle, and the blue one Kogasa!" you say.
>Wriggle: "Rumia, she was talking about a power plant."
>Rumia: "A power plant? Does that mean you get stronger if you eat it?"
>Wriggle: Facepalm.
> Wriggle does not actually know what the building is, for she has never seen or heard of a power plant before.
Is what I was talking about..though Reimu was probably kidding..?
Anyway.
"Are Kapa frogs? I have a frog!"
Yeah, I take that line as sarcastic, seeing as Reimu tends to be touchy about eating humans. Especially as she beats up Rumia shortly after said line.
> "I am not a frog! I'm related to turtles!" the newcomer said.
> "Anyway, seeing as you all introduced yourselves, I'm Nitori Kawashiro. I'm a busy Kappa, so whatever you want can you make it quick?" she said.
-
>"Okay! We're looking for a book!"
>"Also, can I eat you?"
-
>"Okay! We're looking for a book!"
>"Also, can I eat you?"
> "A book? I thought we were asking her about that reporter?" Wriggle said.
> "I got loads of books... on techy stuff." Nitori said.
> "Also, can I eat you?"
> You hear a distinct whirring behind you, and you can see your shadow extending.
> "That had BETTER have been a joke." Utsuho threatened. Kogasa and Wriggle both looked mortifyed.
-
>Quickly apologize.... alot.... we must cub this instinct of asking people to eat them no good has come from it.
>Wriggle: "Anyway.... more specifically, we are looking for Aya who, from what the bugs saw and heard, stole the book from Marisa, who stole it from the mansion on the lake. she was last seen heading to the big lump of rock. we are here to ask you if you know where she is."
>does Rumia always ask everyone she meets if she can eat them?
-
>Quickly apologize.... alot.... we must cub this instinct of asking people to eat them no good has come from it.
> "Sorry sorry sorry it's an automatic thing it was a joke" you say, while laceing it with diabetes.
> You still recive a bonk on the head from the golden thing on her arm. A lot better than a facefull of fusion. Even with the existing bruise from Kogasa.
> Wriggle explains the situation.
> "Yeah, I know where the Tengu live. It's a bit further up the river, at the top of the Waterfall. I'd take you there but I have a project I'm working on." Nitori said, before adding... "It dosen't sound much like Aya to steal though. She should be in her office at this time of night, writing the next issue."
> No, she dosen't. She's only doing this because you keep telling her to

>Rumia: clutch the spot where hit with hand.
>Wriggle: "umm... where is the waterfall from here? And where is her office from the waterfall?
-
>Rumia: clutch the spot where hit with hand.
>Wriggle: "umm... where is the waterfall from here? And where is her office from the waterfall?
> Owie
> Notiri looks at Wriggle. "Just keep following the river, and you'll come to the Waterfall. You could probobly see it from the air from here, it's rather large. As for the exact whereabouts of Aya's offices? I don't know, it's just somewhere around where the Tengu live, which is near the top of the Waterfall. Once you're past the waterfall, you should be able to see it."
-
>Wriggle: "Ok thanks. Anything else we need here Rumia?"
>Rumia: "No im good. except..."
>Turn to Nitori "Im sorry again for what I said, can we be friends?"
-
>Wriggle: "Ok thanks. Anything else we need here Rumia?"
>Rumia: "No im good. except..."
>Turn to Nitori "Im sorry again for what I said, can we be friends?"
> Nitori looks somewhat shocked.
> "Uh... I don't see why not. We're not enemies."
> Kogasa suddenly spoke up. "You guys, I kinda need to be heading back. I wanna get to the graveyard before the humans start heading there. Surpriseing people there is so much fun! I've done what I said I'd do, after all."
-
>to Nitori "Hurray!"
>turn to Kogasa. "ok, thank you for your help. If you need help with anything let us know, Friends help Friends in times of need I always say."
>turn back to Utsuho "You shure you dont want to be friends?"
-
>to Nitori "Hurray!"
>turn to Kogasa. "ok, thank you for your help. If you need help with anything let us know, Friends help Friends in times of need I always say."
>turn back to Utsuho "You shure you dont want to be friends?"
> "Hurray?" Nitori says.
> Kogasta nods, before flying off.
> "No. I'll be going back underground when this project is done. I miss Lady Satori... and Orin..."
-
>"I see, you miss your family. well dont worry im sure they miss you too."
>"bye guys." turn and leave, unless if someone objects.
-
>"I see, you miss your family. well dont worry im sure they miss you too."
>"bye guys." turn and leave, unless if someone objects.
> "They're not my family. I'm Satori's pet! And Orin's one of her cats! Oh wait..."
> You say goodbye, and the others do too. You then fly off, and Wriggle follows.
-
>"they were nice."
>lets fly up and see if we can spot the waterfall.
-
"Having a family must be strange."
"I wonder if yokai taste good. Wiggle, did Mystia get eaten by a ghost?"
-
>"they were nice."
>lets fly up and see if we can spot the waterfall.
> "I don't think the raven was very nice Rumia..." Wriggle said.
> You fly up, and indeed, once above the treeline, you look along the river, and see huge waterfall. At the top of that is the Tengu village.
"Having a family must be strange."
"I wonder if yokai taste good. Wiggle, did Mystia get eaten by a ghost?"
> "Not really. My bugs are like my family. Maybe it's strange for you." Wriggle said.
> "No... whatever makes you think that? We were playing earlier today. Or is it yesterday by now?" Wriggle said.
[Generally the canon is followed, hence, Border team senario in IN]
-
>start flying to the tengu village
>"I think she just wants go home. she sounded like she real misses them.
>oh and check on Dinner.
-
"besides she didn't exterminate us! Chen said something about ghost princesses eating a lot..I wish Ran wasn't so scary.."
(Sorry if I an assuming too much)
-
>start flying to the tengu village
>"I think she just wants go home. she sounded like she real misses them.
>oh and check on Dinner.
> You do so
> "I think she wants to do what she came up here to do Rumia. But also misses home. She wouldn't have left if she didn't want to do it." Wriggle says.
> Dinner is still sleeping.
"besides she didn't exterminate us! Chen said something about ghost princesses eating a lot..I wish Ran wasn't so scary.."
(Sorry if I an assuming too much)
It's stated near the start that you play with Mystcia, Wriggle and Cirno. You have never met Chen. Mystcia and Wriggle have met Yukari and Ran, but not Chen. Because the Border Team's senario is assumed Canon for IN.
Just like Utusho is above ground because the assumed Canon for SA is Marisa + Nitori.
-
>"Is that so~?"
>guesstimate how far the village is.
-
>"Is that so~?"
>guesstimate how far the village is.
> "Yeah, I think it's so." says Wriggle.
> About a ten minuite flight to the top of the waterfall. You don't know how long from there to the village, but according to Nitori, it can't be more than two more after that, for it to be 'close'.
-
>small chuckle
>"so how hard do you think it will be to get the book from the reporter?"
-
>small chuckle
>"so how hard do you think it will be to get the book from the reporter?"
> You chuckle
> "I have no idea Rumia. Although, she seems confident in her own abilities from her writing, and everyone knows she's the fastest. Ugg... I wish we had the Strongest with us. Don't matter how fast she is, Cirno would kick her butt!" Wriggle said.
-
>"hmmm.."
>Think: how long would it take to get the strongest?
-
>"hmmm.."
>Think: how long would it take to get the strongest?
> "Hmmm..."
> Too long. She's asleep at night anyway.
-
>"well shes asleep now, so well just have to make do."
>"but wont this be a story to tell."
-
>"well shes asleep now, so well just have to make do."
>"but wont this be a story to tell."
> Wriggle nods.
> "Oh yeah, how we solved an incident! Aya'll have to write about this!" Wriggle said, before adding, "Would she write about her own butt being kicked?"
-
>"we can ask her, after we beat her."
>to be the ones solving an incident.... cool!
-
>"we can ask her, after we beat her."
>to be the ones solving an incident.... cool!
> "Yeah!" Wriggle says.
> It would indeed be cool for you to solve an incident...
> You reach the top of the waterfall, just in time to see a blast of light shoot dangerously close to you, the unmistakeable blast of a Master Spark!
-
>oh bugga
>"looks like Marisa got to her first."
-
>oh bugga
>"looks like Marisa got to her first."
> You look at each other in fear.
> You head towards the village, and see two figures shooting danmaku. One is clearly Marisa, and you don't recognise the other.
> "Give... it... back!" Marisa shouted.
> "Give WHAT back? I'm not a petty theif, Ayayayaya..."
The other being moved very swiftly, and suddenly, Marisa and her broom spun out of control, and she crashed into the woods between your location and the Tengu village.
-
> Sneak in. Don't wanna get caught and have our butts kicked.
-
> Sneak in. Don't wanna get caught and have our butts kicked.
> You attempt to do so, but Wriggle dosen't move.
> "Rumia... I'm scared. She beat Marisa..."
-
> "then that means Marisa needs our help then. Come on Wriggle."
>head to the down witch
>be on gaurd though.
-
> "then that means Marisa needs our help then. Come on Wriggle."
>head to the down witch
>be on gaurd though.
> Wriggle nods, but stays silent.
> You notice the being, who you suspect is Aya, return to the village.
> You head down to where Marisa crashed. You can hear her muttering "Damnit ~ze"
-
>"Hello? Marisa, you ok?"
>show ourselfs.
-
>"Hello? Marisa, you ok?"
>show ourselfs.
> "No, I'm not! I've had to deal with Patcholi, Sakuya, Reimu, and that Tengu all in the same night, ~ ze!"
> You reveal yourselves, and, as such, get your first look at Marisa's state too.
> Marisa is in a bad way. Her hat's missing, her broom's broken, and there's blood running down her head, left arm, which is hanging limply, and many small cuts from where branches collided with her.
> "What... are you two doin here... ~ze." Marisa asked. Her bravado she was known for seemed to have faded a bit.
-
>go over to her
>"lookin for stuff, making friends, what about you?"
-
>go over to her
>"lookin for stuff, making friends, what about you?"
> "Stealing stuff. Making enemies. The usual... ~ze"
-
>"oh"
>"so what did you take to make all of these enemies?"
-
>"oh"
>"so what did you take to make all of these enemies?"
> "Well, from Patcholi books, from Sakuya... Patcholi's books, from Reimu donations... and causing trouble. From Aya, trin to take the book she took from me... Alice's Precious thing... I could go on all night, ~ze!" Marisa said... sounding unusally happy for a theif admitting her crimes.
-
> "That sounds like adventures!"
-
> "That sounds like adventures!"
> "Adventures? This is Gensokyo. Every day is an adventure... ~ da ze"
-
>"do want some help?"
>how is Wriggle in all of this?
-
>"do want some help?"
>how is Wriggle in all of this?
> Marisa shook her head. "Nah ~ ze. I can't even fly with my broom like that. I don't intend to try for Round 2. Besides, I'm sure the locals noticed my Final Spark. Even if my broom wasn't busted, after fireing that, I got nothin left ~ ze."
> Wriggle seems a little less scared after hearing everything Marisa's been through today, especially after hearing she's already fought Reimu.
-
>"I mean help with the fact your leaking blood."
-
>"I mean help with the fact your leaking blood."
> Marisa let out a laugh.
> "I'm tougher than I look ~ ze! I may be bleeding, but it's nothing serious! Besides, Reimu is probobly on her way now after me fireing that laser. She'll get all the glory again... da ze~"
-
> "I wish my laser could be big and powerful like yours :<"
-
>"is that so?" >" well do you know where aya lives?"
-
> "I wish my laser could be big and powerful like yours :<"
> "You have a laser? ~ ze?"
>"is that so?"
>" well do you know where aya lives?"
> "Yeah."
> "Aya dosen't live anywhere, technically. She's always on the move or writing up the next issue, ~ze."
> Suddenly, Marisa smiles.
> "There she is."
> Reimu lands next to Marisa, and takes a look at her.
> "What happened to you? Did Yukari mess with the boundries of life and death or something, because you look like you walked out of Makai..." Reimu said.
-
> "She was beaten up!"
-
> "She was beaten up!"
> "Don't put it so bluntly, ~ze!" Marisa said.
> "Oh, you two are there too." Reimu said, noticeing you and Wriggle for the first time.
-
>"Yep, and we found Marisa and where the thing you are looking for is."
-
>"Yep, and we found Marisa and where the thing you are looking for is."
> "We weren't looking for Marisa, Rumia... we also met loads of others, like Kogasa, Nitori, Utusho..." Wriggle said.
> Reimu sighed. She hadn't managed to acheive anything, until she saw the Final Spark from Youkai Mountain.
> "To think you two would have a better clue than me about this. OK, I decided. I'll go take Marisa back to my shrine. I'll leave this to you two. You're the ones who have made the progress. This isn't my fight. To be honest, it never was. I'd much rather go back to my shrine, tend to Marisa, and then go to sleep." Reimu said.
> She pulls out Rumia's remaining spell cards, Moon Sign: MoonLight Ray, and Darkness Sign: Demarcation. She also pulls out a Spellcard with a red border, but otherwise blank.
> "Ooh, that's a LastSpell Card Rumia! Like my Hermit of an Imperishable Night spell!" Wriggle said.
-
>have our face bright up in excitement "you mean I can have my spellcards back and i get a new one too?"
>"Oh thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
>Hug our Red White friend.
-
>have our face bright up in excitement "you mean I can have my spellcards back and i get a new one too?"
>"Oh thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
>Hug our Red White friend.
> "Yes Rumia. You've proved yourself trustowrthy. I mean, here you were, worrying abouyt an injured, powerless human, instead fo attempting to eat her. That's all the vidence I needed. The new one's so you can actually kick some Tengu butt." Reimu said.
> You thank Reimu profusely, and give her a hug. She struggles and pushes you away.
> "Now now Rumia, I gotta get Marisa back before she faints from blood loss."
> "Not yet ~ze. You're not the only one that wants Tengu butt kicked." Marisa said.
-
>
whats vidence
>Take our spellcards.
>"well, I dont eat Friends. thats not nice."
>to marisa: " what do you mean? are you going to help us?"
-
> whats vidence
>Take our spellcards.
>"well, I dont eat Friends. thats not nice."
>to marisa: " what do you mean? are you going to help us?"
> You look at your four spellcards. Moonlight Ray shoots two lasers which converge, although not all the way, while shooting small bullets in rings. Demarcation shoots rings of bullets that overlap, and some aimed arcs. The Last Spell glows, and reveals a name of 'Eclipse Sign: Darkness at Noon'. You do not know what this spell does, nor will you until you use it, once all your spells are exhausted.
> "I'm you're freind? ~ze?" Marisa said. "Not a problem!"
> "Not directly ~ze. You can borrow this. Come by the Shrine to return it, or I'll borrow it back from you myself tomorrow. ~ da ze!" Marisa said, handing over her Mini-Hakkero.
> "I'm not sure if it'll be any real use to you, if ya strong enough to use it, or whatever, but it can amplify magical power! Just focus your energy, and point it at someone you don't like, ze!" Marisa explained, before adding, "It's how I do my Master Sparks ~ze! I'm not sure if it'll do that for you or what, but it's worth a try if you have to, right?"
-
>Jawdrop
>Look over the spark in a box
>"Oh. you realy are a friend!"
>hug the White Black friend, lightly though we dont want to hurt her more.
-
>Jawdrop
>Look over the spark in a box
>"Oh. you realy are a friend!"
>hug the White Black friend, lightly though we dont want to hurt her more.
> Your jaw hits the floor. So does Wriggle's. So does Reimu's.
> "M-Marisa! Are you sure?!" Reimu said.
> "It may be my treasure, but I'd rather someone us it to blast the one I couldn't ~ze!" Marisa said.
> You look at the weird object Marisa gave you.
> "Yeah, I guess..."
> You hug Marisa, but even lightly that's enough for her to cringe due to her arm, although she dosen't make any owchie sounds or anything.
> "OK, you can get off me now, ze~"
-
>"sorry." let go of her.
> turn back to Reimu "So do you know where Aya lives, or where her office is?"
-
>"sorry." let go of her.
> turn back to Reimu "So do you know where Aya lives, or where her office is?"
> "Not the exact locat..." Reimu began.
> "It's the big one with Bunbunmaru written on it in large letters ~ ze!" Marisa said.
-
>"thanks! come on Wriggle the hunt is on!"
>leave unless anyone objects.
-
>"thanks! come on Wriggle the hunt is on!"
>leave unless anyone objects.
> "YEAH!" Wriggle says. She sounds pumped up.
> Reimu picks up Marisa, who grabs the two halves of her broom in her working hand, before she takes off back towards the Harukei Shrine.
> You two also take off, heading for what you are sure is the climax of your adventure.
-
>Fly into the village
> look over the spark box in detail, can we figure out which side to point at the enemies?
>this is going to be fun.
-
>Fly into the village
> look over the spark box in detail, can we figure out which side to point at the enemies?
>this is going to be fun.
> You fly to the village
> One side is plain, the other has an indented ying-yang symbol and load of intracate markings. There is also something scratched into the side of it.
> An Arrow, with 'Point this way' written on it. It seems Marisa has the same conundrum as you.
> Oh yes, this could be fun. You can see Aya's office clearly now.
-
>pocket the spark in a box for now.
> examine Aya's office
>"you ready Wriggle?"
-
>pocket the spark in a box for now.
> examine Aya's office
>"you ready Wriggle?"
> You put the Spark in your pocket. your pockets are now more or less filled, between Dinner, your four spellcards, the odd meat, and the 'Spark in a Box'
> The office looks like the other Tengu huts, except slightly bigger, and a large sign on top reading 'Bunbunmaru!'.
> "You ready Wriggle?" you ask.
> "Yeah, I'm re..."
> Ayayaya... ready for what outside my office?" says a voice. You feel a rush of wind, and a girl dressed in a black skirt, white shirt, and holding a fan and camera appears behind you. "I hope I don't have to beat up people again. I have only so much time to write the Bunbunmaru..."
-
>turn to face the new voice. > put on our sugar heavy smile " Hi! are you the reporter?
-
>turn to face the new voice.
> put on our sugar heavy smile " Hi! are you the reporter?
> Diabetes Sign: Cute Smile!
> "Yes. Now state your reason for being here. The other Tengu arn't as willing to listen to intruders as I am, especially at this time of night. And especially when a certain witch has already blasted most of the guards."
-
>"We have information regarding the new incident thats happening! And we thought you might be interested."
-
>"We have information regarding the new incident thats happening! And we thought you might be interested."
> "Incident? An incident just happened here. Involveing a tengu and an 'Ordinary' Witch. That's more than enough for today's issue, and your incident would not be fresh news by that time. Unless you're talking about the same incident." the tengu said, a glint in her eyes.
-
>"this is way bigger than that. It involes the mansion on the lake, the umbrela with a face, the Hell crow with the werid thing on her arm, and more."
-
>"this is way bigger than that. It involes the mansion on the lake, the umbrela with a face, the Hell crow with the werid thing on her arm, and more."
> "It seems we have both moved through different halves of the same story then. For my story also has it's route in the theft from the mansion on the lake. However, unlike you, I have read to the end of the story... that much is clear... otherwise, you wouldn't be here." Aya said, smirking.
-
>"Is that so~?"
>"Then could you tell me how the story ends? I like a good story."
-
>"Is that so~?"
>"Then could you tell me how the story ends? I like a good story."
> "Yes."
> "I'm sorry, but I can't do that. You see, the end of the line leads you to someone I cannot tell you about, not unless I have an excuse to do so. An excuse involveing Danmaku. However, unlike Marisa, who came in guns blazeing, I'll hold back on you, seeing as you're here for the right reasons, not to reclaim what you stole. All you have to do, is withstand my attack for fifteen seconds. A survival card." Aya said. "Then, I'll tell you the REAL culprit."
[And ciffhanger for the next few hours, it's 11pm @_@]
-
>oh you son of a kappa
>How good are we at dodging?
> What are our current suroundings?
> "can we include Wriggle in this to?"
-
>oh you son of a kappa
>How good are we at dodging?
> What are our current suroundings?
> "can we include Wriggle in this to?"
> You are adequate at dodgeing, but not as good as Reimu or Marisa.
> There are several Tengu huts, although Aya has now taken to the air, suggesting she wants to fight where the village will not be damaged.
> "You're both here for the same reason. Wriggle's already included. In fact, let's make it fairer, only one of you needs to stay airborne."
-
>"hmmm so we just have to survive till the end of the card?"
>"are you up for this Wriggle?"
-
>"hmmm so we just have to survive till the end of the card?"
>"are you up for this Wriggle?"
> "I'm not trying to kill you, ~ayayayaya. All you have to do is... what's the word... withstand it. Stay able to fight. Although, you're gonna want to dodge it... getting hit hurts a fair bit." Aya explained.
> "Yeah... I think I get it, I've heard of these cards before. For one reason or another, the user is untouchable during them, so you have to wait for it to timeout..."
-
>"I take it that we are not doing this here?"
>get airborn as well
-
>"I take it that we are not doing this here?"
>get airborn as well
> "Ayayaya... you're slow..." Aya taunts.
> You go into the air, and follow Aya to the village outskirts.
> "Let me know when you're ready..."
-
>Examine our new surroundings
>"I do have one more question"
-
>Examine our new surroundings
>"I do have one more question"
> They are very... wide open. Grass. A few trees, and the river arer in sight, as well as the Tengu village.
> "Shoot." Aya said.
-
>how big are the trees?
>is it still dark?
>"no matter who wins this, can we be friends afterwards?"
-
>how big are the trees?
>is it still dark?
>"no matter who wins this, can we be friends afterwards?"
> Not very big, and they are scattered about.
> Yes.
> "Uh... guess so..." Aya said.
-
>"Hurray!"
>"you ready Wriggle?"
>if so "then start the card please."
-
>"Hurray!"
>"you ready Wriggle?"
>if so "then start the card please."
> "Y-Yeah."
> Aya nods, holding up a card. "ILLUSIONARY DOMINANCE!"
> Aya's wings unfurl from her shoulders, and she shoots into the air with a green glow, and making a sonicboom as she does so. After this, all you can see is green streaks in the sky, as a rain of small needle-like danmaku begins to fall...
-
>oh bugga
>which direction is the rain of neddles coming from, above, infront?
-
>oh bugga
>which direction is the rain of neddles coming from, above, infront?
> Indeed
> Above.
-
>Well lets not just stand here like a bump on a pickle, lets move.
>Rumia: dodge to the left
>Wriggle:dodge to the right.
-
>Well lets not just stand here like a bump on a pickle, lets move.
>Rumia: dodge to the left
>Wriggle:dodge to the right.
> You both get grazed, or hit, by a fair few of the danmaku, but none hit anywhere it paricually hurts.
> The green streak seems to be picking up speed. The rain is becomeing heavier.
-
>
i know dodging danmaku is like dodging rain but this is ridiculous
>can we see if there is any kind of pattern to the rain of neddles?
> Both: keep an eye out for gaps in the rain, head for thoughs. and keep dodging.
-
> i know dodging danmaku is like dodging rain but this is ridiculous
>can we see if there is any kind of pattern to the rain of neddles?
> Both: keep an eye out for gaps in the rain, head for thoughs. and keep dodging.
> Aya's not really aiming. The pattern is based on her movement, which is so fast it's a blur. However, she mentioned it being about fifteen seconds. At least one passed before she actually started fireing. At least five have passed by now of actual fireing.
> You keep dodgeing. you both manage to avoid any serious hits, although the downpour of danmaku keeps getting thicker. You're not gonna be able to withstand this just by dodgeing the worst at this rate, there has to be something else you can do...
-
> how fast are the neddles falling? >if we can keep of with them then we should go with the flow and decend to the ground.
-
> how fast are the neddles falling?
>if we can keep of with them then we should go with the flow and decend to the ground.
> Very quickly
> You'd crash into the ground before the spell ended.
-
>Of what we can see of the blur known as Aya, does she appier to be moving in some sort of pattern? like up and down, left to right, in circles?
-
>Of what we can see of the blur known as Aya, does she appier to be moving in some sort of pattern? like up and down, left to right, in circles?
> Left to Right. Right to left. VERY quickly. your eyes can hardly track it. Dosen't help looking up puts you at terrible risk of danmaku in the eyes.
-
> Fly above Aya while dodging.
-
> Fly above Aya while dodging.
> You try to rise, but the downpour forces you down. It's like a shotgun, the closer you get, the more intense it is. It also gets more intense as Aya picks up speed.
> About ten seconds have passed. It's now more or less impossible to dodge at all, and the force the the repeted danmaku landing on you is pushing you towards the ground. However, each individual hit seems weak. It's en masse that they're hurting.
-
>has the speed of the neddles increased?
>go with the flow.
>Shoot some nonspellcard danmaku into the rain. hopefuly the bullets will impact eachother and cancel out give us and least a little breathing room.
>are we able to see how Wriggle is doing in all this?
-
>has the speed of the neddles increased?
>go with the flow.
>Shoot some nonspellcard danmaku into the rain. hopefuly the bullets will impact eachother and cancel out give us and least a little breathing room.
>are we able to see how Wriggle is doing in all this?
> No, just the intensity.
> If you relax and attempt to go with the flow of the downpour now, you'll spiral into the ground.
> You shoot some nonspell shots into the rain, and, to your surprise, they do cancel out a few needles before they are stopped, giving a slight replase, although the sheer volume of danmaku Aya is fireing now means it's impossible to totally defend.
> Wriggle is doing about the same as you, you can see she's struggleing, but she is also shooting some danmaku upwards.
-
>aya said that atleast one of us had to survive right?
>then this is going to hurt.
>fly over to Wriggle and get in between her and the rain of neddles.
-
>aya said that atleast one of us had to survive right?
>then this is going to hurt.
>fly over to Wriggle and get in between her and the rain of neddles.
> You move over to Wriggle, blasting the Danmaku in your way. Progress is slow, due to the downpour.
> You get near Wriggle, but can't fly up at all to actually act like a sheild. However, your concentrated Danmaku is a more defensive barrier than seperate.
-
>Then we make our stand here. Not an inch back. Fire with all our might in to the storm! AHHHHHHHHH!
-
>Then we make our stand here. Not an inch back. Fire with all our might in to the storm! AHHHHHHHHH!
> You do so. Aya's blurrs become invisible, through a combination of her own speed, the torrent of danmaku, and your own.
> Then, it stops without warning, and Aya appears in front of you, noticeably panting.
> "Ayayayaya... well... let me catch... my breath..."
-
>"ah.. ok.. friend"
>wound assesment.
>how does Wriggle look?
-
>"ah.. ok.. friend"
>wound assesment.
>how does Wriggle look?
> You are also worn out, as you let Aya know it's OK.
> Your clothes are torn in places, and you're bleeding lightly, although danmaku dosen't cause serious wounds you're scratched all over. Also, you're acheing.
> Wriggle is the same.
> The pocket holding Dinner is, somehow, intact.
-
>well thats good.
>hunger check.
>"we did it.. Wriggle"
-
>well thats good.
>hunger check.
>"we did it.. Wriggle"
> You feel releif.
> You don't feel hungry.
> "We did it... Wriggle."
> "Remember what Aya said? It's not over..." Wriggle warned.
> "Yeah... now I have an excuse that'll fly with the other Tengu, I can tell you who you should be after. The theif is Hatate Himekaidou. She's another journalist, who, until recently, didn't actually go out and find stuff to report on. I think she took the book because she knew something abut it's contents that would make a decent story. I warn you, Hatate isn't going to be as kind as me about all this, shes going to go all out, I'd bet." Aya explained, before adding, "Although, she's weaker than me. And slower. And a worse reporter."
-
>is Dinner still asleep?
>"anything else we should know about this Hatate? and where can we find her?"
-
>is Dinner still asleep?
>"anything else we should know about this Hatate? and where can we find her?"
> You hear a croak before you can check. Seems all the movement woke the poor thing.
> "She wears a lot of purple. She's also in a hut that has 'Kakashi Spirit News' on it. I forgot it's exact location"

>pull out Dinner
>put on cute face "Could you watch over Dinner for me while we go find Hatate? Please?"
> "A frog? I have a better idea. I'll take Dinner to someone who will look after it. Dinner will be happy there. She's Suwako Moriya. She's an Earth Goddess, and highly in-tune with frogs."
-
>have we heard of this person before?
>"will I be able to visit."
-
>have we heard of this person befor?
>"will I be able to visit."
> You have not heard of this Tengu before. You had heardly even heard of Aya before!
> "We don't turn away visitors... and if you mean Dinner... well, besides it being at the very top of the moutain, I don't see why not. Kanako welcomes anyone nowadays."

>Hug our new reporter friend.
> You hand Dinner over.
> "Ribbit?"
> "I'm doing it for the frog. It did just go through my danmaku too, in fact, I'd say it looks in better shape than you two do." Aya said.
> "Ayayayayaya..." Aya muttered as she got hugged.
-
>release the hug
>"Ok, Wriggle you ready for the final stage?"
>if so then say goodbye to our two friends and head back to the Tengu village.
-
>release the hug
>"Ok, Wriggle you ready for the final stage?"
>if so then say goodbye to our two friends and head back to the Tengu village.
> You release Aya.
> Wriggle nods silently. She dosen't seem completely confident, but that's Wriggle being Wriggle.
> You say goodbye to Aya and Dinner, before flying off towards the Tengu Village.
> "Ayayayayaya... looks like I know what I'm writing up this evening."
-

-
>well only thing to do is to sart looking for the 'Kakashi Spirit News' news hut.
>"I wonder how hard it will be to get the book from this Hatate"
> It dosen't take long to find it. There's not many huts with signs on, although it is signficiantly less flashy than the one with Bunbunmaru on it.
> "Well, Aya said she was weaker, and slower than her... but also that she'd go all out. I'm guessing hard." Wriggle said.
-
>"Well so long as we stick together, we can over come anything."
>go up to the door put, on our best smile, and knock.
-
>"Well so long as we stick together, we can over come anything."
>go up to the door put, on our best smile, and knock.
> "Y-Yeah, I guess."
> *Knock Knock Knock*
> You hear frantic movement, includeing the opening and closing of a draw. Then, the door opens a little, and you see a single brown eye peer out.
> "What do you want? I'm very busy here!"
-
>Smile
>"Hi! Are you the reporter?"

-
>"well we have infomation on an incident and we thought you would want to know."
>can we see anything of this person other than her eye?
> "I already have my story. Go bother Aya."
> You can't see much else, except the vuage shape of half a head.
-
>"We thought you would want to know, afterall it involes you."
-
>"We thought you would want to know, afterall it involes you."
> "Oh really. Either you're really stupid to think I wouldn't know about a story about myself, or you should go tell Aya, her magazine deals with the gossip and slander."
-
>"Funny you metion a story, heres one for you. Something very important was taken from the mansion on the lake, then someone else robbed the thief and took what she stole."

> You see a twitch.
> "We asked some freinds, and they said a fast crow took the book. Can you guess who..."
> The door swings open, and a hail of danmaku shoots out.
-
>Fly up to dodge the bullets
>"I think she stole the book."
-
>Fly up to dodge the bullets
>"I think she stole the book."
> You do so. Luckily, they were slow-moving bubble bullets.
> "We already knew that Rumia." Wriggle said.
> A purple blur flys out from the door, and appears in front of you.
> In front of you is a tengu who looks slightly younger than Aya. She has black hait tied in two ponytails, and wears a checkered purple and black shirt, as well as a mildly purple shirt.
> "Hatate Himekaidou, owner of the Kakashi Spirit News. And I'm gonna beat you so bad you won't tell anyone..." the Tengu said.
-
>"Is that so~?
>"So why did you take the book?"
-
>"Is that so~?
>"So why did you take the book?"
> "Yes."
> "I suppose it's time for my evil monolouge? I had this prepared should Marisa be smart enough to come after me... *clears throat*. For as long as I have been in business, my sensible, informative articles have been ignored! Why? Because of the Bunbunmaru and it's gossip! It's Slander! It's inaccurate facts and spin put on by that witch Aya! She's no reporter either. Half the things she reports on she makes happen! Well I've had enough!" Hatate said, pulling out the book.
> "This book contains the secrets of the Scarlet family. Not just Remilla, but the ones before her, the ones who made her what she is today. You could call it her liniage. Probobly why the poor mistress has gone... batty over it. There's enough stuff in this for me to outdo the Bunbunmaru for a month!"
-
>"Wait.... Ar'nt you doing the thing you said Aya is doing?"
-
>"Wait.... Ar'nt you doing the thing you said Aya is doing?"
> "I'm making it based on facts. Aya takes facts and distorts them."
-
>"I mean the fact that you are causing what you are reporting."
-
>"I mean the fact that you are causing what you are reporting."
> Hatate laughs.
> "I didn't cause the history of the Scarlet family. Oh man, you two are morons! All I did was aquire the information. I didn't even steal the book from the mansion, I liberated it from Marisa, who would have lost it with the other piles of junk she's stolen!"
-
>Wriggle: "Hey, we are not morons! we found out you have the book."
> "But Marisa didnt steal the book, she said she borrowed it. So You stole it from Marisa."
-
>Wriggle: "Hey, we are not morons! we found out you have the book."
> "But Marisa didnt steal the book, she borrowed it. So You stole it from Marisa."
> "She borrowed it without permission, baka brigade. That's called stealing. I guess you two know Cirno... only explanation for being this mentally challenged."
-
>"That may be so, but us 'bakas' were able to figure out what had happened way before the red white did."
-
>"That may be so, but us 'bakas' were able to figure out what had happened way before the red white did."
> "Since when did she ever put any effort into anything unless it threatened all of Gensokyo?"
-
>"what do you think the people of the mansion will do if they dont get that book back?"
-
>"what do you think the people of the mansion will do if they dont get that book back?"
"You think Remilla would be able to show her face in public? You think Sakuya would be able to catch a Tengu, or go to the other side of Gensokyo? You think Meling or Patchouli would come here at all? Oh man... you guys are a laugh every sentence you say..."
-
>"This that so~"
>"then you'll find this very funny. you said we should of gone to Aya, we did, we got into a small fight, and won."
-
>"This that so~"
>"then you'll find this very funny. you said we should of gone to Aya, we did, we got into a small fight, and won."
> "Yeah."
> Hatate's face fell. "What?" for a moment, fear was etched across it, and then, she relaxed. "Oh wait, Aya had just fought Marisa, even engrossed in the book, I couldn't miss that Final Spark. She woulda been tired. She probobly wanted to tell you about me anyway so she could stop me threatening her paper anyway. Yes, that must be it."
-
>"how would know if that was Aya Marisa fought?"
-
>"how would know if that was Aya Marisa fought?"
> "THERE WAS A FINAL SPARK FIRED. How would I not look to the sky when that happened right next to my house, morons!"
-
>"How do you know aya wasnt just reporting what was going on?" >"what if Marisa met someone else?"
-
>"How do you know aya wasnt just reporting what was going on?"
>"what if Marisa met someone else?"
> "What's so hard about grasping to concept of looking out of your window?!" Hatate shouted. She was clearly getting stressy.
[Even I can't fethom what you're tying to do with this, seeing as she already admitted to it]

>Smile
>"when this fight is over, no matter who wins, can we be friends?"
> "Hell no. Like I'd want to be freinds with a bunch of morons like you." Hatate sneered, adding, "You've driven me mad in less then two minuites. I'd frankly never want to see you again."
-
>"Is that so~?"
>Get ready.
-
>"Is that so~?"
>Get ready.
> "Yes."
> You prepare yourselves, as Hatate does the same.
> A hail of purple small-orb danmaku flies at you. It's a nonspell, but it's quite fast.
-
>Wriggle: Dodge up
>Rumia: Dodge down
>Both: Then move in and counter attack with our own nonspell danmaku.
>are the spellcards we used agenst kogasa still expended?
-
>Wriggle: Dodge up
>Rumia: Dodge down
>Both: Then move in and counter attack with our own nonspell danmaku.
>are the spellcards we used agenst kogasa still expended?
> Wriggle dodges upwards, and you dodge dowards, before you both retaliate with blasts of your own. You dodge Hatate's shots, but she redirects the next volley to cancel out your own. It appears her current nonspell is a streaming pattern, with some scattered shots.
> No, the spellcards have had long enough to recharge.
> Hatate scowls, seeing her current nonspell is getting her nowhere.
> "Flash Sign: Brilliant Image!" she declares. A ring of small, white danmaku surrounds you and Wriggle, swirling around.
> "This is just the start." Hatate said, launching multiple waves of large, purple bubble-damnaku.
-
>Fly up out of the ring of white bullets and dodge the purple bubbles by going over them.
>Rumia: Attempt to get around to Hatate's back side.
-
>Fly up out of the ring of white bullets and dodge the purple bubbles by going over them.
>Rumia: Attempt to get around to Hatate's back side.
> The ring moves with you, however you evade the first few waves of pruple bubbles. However, it appears they were obscureing a group of lasers, which are angled so that they will fly past the top and bottom of the bubbles. There's also another wave of purple bubbles coming.
> Movement any direction but horizontal Vertical is impossible due to the ring, unless at a very slow speed.
-
>Looks like we are going to have to dodge them. do so by moving to the left and right.
>fire if we see an opening in the attack.
-
>Looks like we are going to have to dodge them. do so by moving to the left and right.
>fire if we see an opening in the attack.
My mistake, got Horizontal and Vertical mixed up. Blame me being busy multi-tasking when typing.
-
(ah it happens o all of us)
>Looks like we are going to have to dodge them. do so by moving up and down. however try not to stray to high or low, thoughs lazers could pull a fast one.
>fire if we see an opening in the attack.
-
(ah it happens o all of us)
>Looks like we are going to have to dodge them. do so by moving up and down. however try not to stray to high or low, thoughs lazers could pull a fast one.
>fire if we see an opening in the attack.
> As you move up and down, the ring follows you.
> You dodge the first few waves nice and comfortably, and shoot some dankamu at Hatate. However, each wave seems to be faster and faster, and the lasers are angled further and further from the bubbles.
[So you get an idea:
------------- [Row of lasers, angled so that the distance between them and the bubbles gets larger at range]
00000000 [Bubble Danmaku wall]
------------ [Lasers]
Lasers angles are getting futher and further away from the bubbles. Bubbles are aimed at you for each wave. It's almost like Hatate is zooming out to take a better picture. /Zun spellcard comments. Also explaining the name and all that.]
-
(i wonder)
>Rumia: Fly up, use the space the lazers are giving us to the fullest
>Wriggle: Fly down, use the space the lazers are giving us to the fullest
-
(i wonder)
>Rumia: Fly up, use the space the lazers are giving us to the fullest
>Wriggle: Fly down, use the space the lazers are giving us to the fullest
> You fly in opposite directiosn as the tragetory of the lasers fans outwards.
> This results in Hatate's wall of pruple bubbles splitting into two tinner walls, with noteable gaps in them. Inbetween the two waves of purple bubbles, is another set of lasers, however.
> Hatate looks worried for a second, but it vanishes from her face.
-
>What of the ring of bullets? did it split up andwe each have a ring around us or did it remain as one and follow just oneof us, or something else?
-
>What of the ring of bullets? did it split up andwe each have a ring around us or did it remain as one and follow just oneof us, or something else?
> There was one ring around each of you.
-
>Both: Use thoughs gaps to our advantage.
>Fire back when the opportunity shows its self.
-
>Both: Use thoughs gaps to our advantage.
>Fire back when the opportunity shows its self.
> If it wasn't for the ring, dodgeing would be a lot easier, but you only have vertical movement...
> Still, there is plenty of chance to fire back, and, within a few seconds, the spell dispells, and Hatate floats there stunned.
-
> Mentally assess prospects of eating Hatate.
-
>rember that the our read white friend said we couldnt eat the thief...... darn > both: press the attack and move in > rumia: attempt to get around to hatate's backside. if we suround her chance of victory will probly increas.
-
> Reimu doesn't have to know! Besides, Hatate's not human, so Reimu shouldn't care that much.
-
>But Reimu is our friend. Eating Hatate would make her upset and we wouldnt do anything to upset a friend.
> especaly a friend that could wipe the floor with us any day of the week.
-
> Mentally assess prospects of eating Hatate.
> Pretty low, you don't like the taste of supernatural creatures. You tried taking a bite out of Mysctia and Wriggle when you first met them. Put you off Youkai and the like for life. Tengu are 'supernatural'.
>rember that the our read white friend said we couldnt eat the thief...... darn
> both: press the attack and move in
> rumia: attempt to get around to hatate's backside. if we suround her chance of victory will probly increas.
> You also recall what Reimu said at one point.
> Both you and Wriggle close in, fireing nonspell danmaku. Hatate's breif stun wears off.
> "Not taking advantage of my Spell-Break lapse to use your own? You two really are fools!" Hatate taunted the two incoming foes, as she used her natural tengu speed to evade the nonspell danmaku with ease.
> You attempt to close in, but Hatate releases a multiple rings of kunais for her next nonspell. Looks like she really wants to keep you out of close range. Which is weird, considering she could get out of close range with ease with her speed.
-
>Wriggle: declare Lamp Sign: Firefly Phenomenon
>Rumia: Fly low and advance as close and we can and declare Night Sign: Night Bird
-
>Wriggle: declare Lamp Sign: Firefly Phenomenon
>Rumia: Fly low and advance as close and we can and declare Night Sign: Night Bird
> Wriggle starts her Lamp Sign: Firefly Phenomenon. While Hatate's Kunai danmaku are more numerous, they are weaker than the actual spell-based danmaku. Hatate realises this is a losing battle, so instead begines evasive manuvers.
> You fly low, avoiding some stray danmaku, and then try to get close, however, with Hatate dodgeing at the speed she is, it's impossible to actually get close right now. Despite this, you use Night Sign: Night Bird, and start fireing waves of danmaku.
> Hatate seems to be having no trouble dodgeing with her speed and agility, but is not retalitateing either.
-
> try to box her in with the spells
> watch her. she maybe up to something. Be on guard.
-
> try to box her in with the spells
> watch her. she maybe up to something. Be on guard.
> Your attempts to box Hatate in fail, she's too fast, and dodges too well.
> She just seems to be waiting for your spells to timeout, probobly so she can counter-attack.
-
>if we can, get back so we are closer to wriggle.
>think: can we break a spell of early, if so what would happen?
-
>if we can, get back so we are closer to wriggle.
>think: can we break a spell of early, if so what would happen?
> You can't move quickly when using your current spell, and getting too close to Wriggle puts you at risk.
> Spells only break when they timeout, you've been hit too much, or the foe's beaten. However, the break due to being hit is due to concentration... so it might be possible to cut it off early, but doing so would require a massive amount of effort, as, while using a spell card, you are almost in a magical trance, and can't change tactics or anything.
-
>so if we break our concentration we could manuly break our spell early? If so would we still suffer that stun?
>well drift as close as we feel is safe to wriggle.
-
>so if we break our concentration we could manuly break our spell early? If so would we still suffer that stun?
>well drift as close as we feel is safe to wriggle.
> You don't know for sure. You don't even know if attempting to break the spell would work.
> You drift towards Wriggle. There's not enougn time on your spellcard for you to drift into a danger zone. You don't drift very quickly while using your spell.
[It's worth noteing that this 'stun' is literally two seconds. I got the idea from the gap between a spell and a nonspell, where you can go to the PoC and pick up the items. Still, two seconds in danmaku is a large enough opening.]
-
(ll keep that in mind)
>keep firing untill the our spell ends. Hopefully Wriggle's spell will keep Hatate busy while we are stunned
-
>Once we recover, quickly take out Marisa's box, point it at where we think Hatate will dodge to next, and spark her ass!
-
>Once we recover, quickly take out Marisa's box, point it at where we think Hatate will dodge to next, and spark her ass!
>dont do this.... yet. this is one of our secret wepons, lets use it when we know we can hit her. besides, if we do this right we can deliver a kickass one liner.
-
(ll keep that in mind)
>keep firing untill the our spell ends. Hopefully Wriggle's spell will keep Hatate busy while we are stunned
> You began after Wriggle. Your spells will time out at aproximately the same time, although yours might be a second sooner.
>Once we recover, quickly take out Marisa's box, point it at where we think Hatate will dodge to next, and spark her ass!
>dont do this.... yet. this is one of our secret wepons, lets use it when we know we can hit her. besides, if we do this right we can deliver a kickass one liner.
> You consider doing this, but you decide against it, for now.
> Your spell times out, and Hatate makes a dive towards you through the last of Wriggle's danmaku as soon as it happens. She's holding a spellcard ready.
> You can hear the chimes that indicate that Wriggle's spell is just about to finish too.
> "Continuous Shooting..." Hatate begins...
-
> Hakkero Moonlight Spark in her face.
-
>we are stuned right now, we just have to brace for impact.
-
> Hakkero Moonlight Spark in her face.
>we are stuned right now, we just have to brace for impact.
> You fish around in your pocket for the Hakkero, you may not be able to use danmaku, or fly about, but you can at least do that.
> Wriggle's spell times out, Hatate was slowed slightly by one final aimed shot, but she's close enough.
> "Rapid Shot!" Hatate finishes declareing. As she does this, a few arrowhead danmaku are spread around her, although not in front, and five large, translucent cones form, in a 180 degree fan-like shape, as she moves her camera around in an arc. They engulf you, but nothing happens.
> "Ready for your close up?" Hatate taunts.
> you feel like you can move now.
For a better idea of what these cones are, imagine this video, but in 3D... kinda hard to describe.

>Spark her!
-
>"Yes I Am! Take A Good look!"
>Marisa said it amplifys magic right?
> pray that this works...
>then declare Moon Sign: Moonlight Ray and focus on sending it thur the spark in a box. point the right end at hatate.
> "Say hello to my little friend!
>and release the energy at her!
> Wriggle: get unstuned.
-
>Spark her!
> This is gonna be good!
> Yeah, I am!
> Yes, Marisa said it amplifies magic, although she also didn't know exactly what would happen.
> You are not one to pray, but you hope.
> "Moon Sign! Moonlight Ray!" you cry, holding the card in one hand, and the Hakkero in the other.
> Hatate's face shows legitimate fear when she recognises the item you are holding.
> You don't feel like spouting a cheesy one liner while focusing your energy, but you do get the urge to call out the name of this attack.
> "Full Moon Sign: Moonlight Spark!"
> The Mini-Hakkero fires not what one would consider a Master-Spark, but a shotgun-like blast of silver beams, slightly smaller beams that you utilise for your Moonlight Ray attack.
> *Click Click Click Click Click*, you make out, over the sound of the Moonlight Spark.
> The cones collapse, includeing the one you are in, with a concussive wave. You're thrown back a fair bit.
> your vision is a bit blurred, and all you can see where Hatate was is a cloud of silver dust where your attack blasted her, which you cannot see through.
> Wriggle is not stunned from her spell anymore, although she is stunned from seeing the massive blast of energy you just fired.
> "Yo, Rumia, can I have a go with that toy next time?!" Wriggle shouted.
-
>"Maybe later Wriggle."
>"Do you see Hatate any where?"
>Be on guard.
>can we see her?
-
>"Maybe later Wriggle."
>"Do you see Hatate any where?"
>Be on guard.
>can we see her?
> "Awww..."
> You can see a shadow floating in the dust, which is fading.
> You are.
> The dust clears. Hatate seems to have received some moderate scorches on her clothing, and is bleeding a bit from her mouth. A few of her feathers are also missing, and there is a crack in the lens of her camera... but the damage dosen't seem as high as it should be.
> "Ha...ha... taking pictures of danmaku with my... camera destroys the danmaku... if it wasn't... for that... I'd be down right now." Hatate panted.
-
>"thats a gift from Marisa to you."
> "so we done yet? or is there more?"
>Wriggle: Fly closer to the pair.
-
>"thats a gift from Marisa to you."
> "so we done yet? or is there more?"
>Wriggle: Fly closer to the pair.
> "You... think I'm some kinda moron? Everyone knows Marisa's... weapon..." Hatate said.
> "I'm still airborne, arn't I? Can't say you're looking too good either after you got snapped." Hatate said, before adding, "I'm sure that also ate up a lot of your energy too."
> Wriggle flies over to you.
-
>did it?
>Wonder: if thats the kind of power we can unleash on our own, then what might happen if we used it with Wriggle at the same time.....
>Got snaped? look over self to see what she means
>"that may be but I have one thing you dont have in this fight."
-
>When Wriggle gets close enough, covertly pass the hakkero off to her.
-
>With Hatate Focused on us, being secret about anything is nearly imposible.
>besides we just told Wriggle she could try in a bit.
-
>did it?
>Wonder: if thats the kind of power we can unleash on our own, then what might happen if we used it with Wriggle at the same time.....
>Got snaped? look over self to see what she means
>"that may be but I have one thing you dont have in this fight."
> Yeah, you can feel fatigue setting in.
> If Wriggle had contributed, you have no idea.
> You were caught in the cone thing when it collapsed, the the concussive force sent you flying backwards. You have quite a few scrapes, and your hair is messed up. It'll probobly leave a few bruises too.
> Hatate raised one of her eyebrows.
>When Wriggle gets close enough, covertly pass the hakkero off to her.
>With Hatate Focused on us, being secret about anything is nearly imposible.
>besides we just told Wriggle she could try in a bit.
> Why do it covertly? You chuck the Hakkero to Wriggle. Hatate dosen't do anything about it, for some reason.
-
>Wriggle: Catch the spark in a box
>Fight the fatigue, we must press on.
>" Friends. I have my friends helping me, while you stand alone. I may be getting tired, but Im not out, and Wriggle here is near full power."
>Fly next to Wriggle.
>"So long as we are together, our possibilities are never ending."
-
>"So take this!"
>Rumia/Wriggle: Combo spark attack!
-
>"So take this!"
>Rumia/Wriggle: Combo spark attack!
>hold off on doing this. we just used the spark in the box, if we use it again too soon we would just exhaust our selfs. besides lets finish talking before we blast Hatate out of the sky.
-
>Wriggle: Catch the spark in a box
>Fight the fatigue, we must press on.
>" Friends. I have my friends helping me, while you stand alone. I may be getting tired, but Im not out, and Wriggle here is near full power."
>Fly next to Wriggle.
>"So long as we are together, our possibilities are never ending."
> Wriggle catches the box.
> Yeah, you still have gas in the tank!
> "Phhp. You think I don't have freinds? Marisa just blew them all out of the sky before Aya did." Hatate said.
> You fly next to Wriggle, which makes you wonder why you threw the Hakkero in the first place.
> "Well, it's been two against one this whole time. But you know what they say... two's company... me's a crowd." Hatate said.
>"So take this!"
>Rumia/Wriggle: Combo spark attack!
> You would, but you don't feel like you can use it again.
-
>"Then let us party. Shall we?"
-
>"Then let us party. Shall we?"
> Hatate's response is to hold up a spellcard.
> "Astral Sign: Photographic Projection!"
> Hatate vanishes as soon as she finishes her declaration.
> "Get ready..." you hear her say.
-
>"we were born ready"
>Keep the eyeballs peeled for anything could happen
-
>"we were born ready"
>Keep the eyeballs peeled for anything could happen
> There is no response.
> Suddenly, a Hatate appears in front of you. It is wearing red instead of purple. To your left, is one in blue. Your right, one in green, and behind you, as Wriggle exclaims, one in yellow.
> "How do you like my spirit photography at it's maximum? I can use astral projections to collect photos while I stay inside and write the articles. I can also use them to fight..." you hear all four Hatate say.
-
>whoa... didnt see this coming.
>neat though.
>"cool trick. want to see ours?"
-
>whoa... didnt see this coming.
>neat though.
>"cool trick. want to see ours?"
> "To be fair, I've never used it for combat before, I was keeping this card to my chest in case I ever needed to face Aya. Test drive time, I think." the Hatates said.
> She dosen't respond to you asking about your trick. Instead, each Hatate starts fireing danmaku.
Hatate Blue: Blue Arrow-head danmaku, five lines x2. One center line is aimed at both you and Wriggle, the rest are about 20 degrees apart on each side.
Hatate Red: Random spray of small red orb danmaku, fast fireing rate [Think Eternal Meek, but smaller danmaku, and they move slightly slower]
Hatate Yellow: CURVY LASERS, which spread out in a ring-shape, rather slow fireing rate
Hatate Green: Green Bubble Danmaku, no apparent pattern, medium ffireing rate, projectiles are slow.
-
>Both:fly up do avoid the Blue and yellow attacks
>watch out for the green and dodge the red.
>Attack the Red one when the opportunity shows it self.
-
>Both:fly up do avoid the Blue and yellow attacks
>watch out for the green and dodge the red.
>Attack the Red one when the opportunity shows it self.
> You fly upwards. You dodge the current aiming of the blue and yellow shots, however, both the Blue and Yellow Hatates adjust their aims for the next wave, the blue's stream following you near instantly, and the next wave of lasers coming out after about a second. You also have to dodge quite a few red shots, and a few green bubbles.
> There's not exactly a safe opening, but you fire a few danmaku at the red Hatate, and what dosen't get canceled out is dodged, causing a breif lapse in the red bullets.
-
>are they trying to keep us surrounded?
>get next to wriggle if we arnt.
>dodge what we can fire at what we cant
-
>are they trying to keep us surrounded?
>get next to wriggle if we arnt.
>dodge what we can fire at what we cant
> They are moving enough to keep you trapped between them, acting like corners of a square. They seem to be more liient with vertical movements, but do move up and down accordingly.
> You startd close to Wriggle, as you had just passed her the Hakkero, but the two seperate blue streaming patterns have seperated you, and getting close to the degree you were before isn't possible now. You are still within twenty meters of each other, however.
> You focus on dodgeing the blue streams, red bullets, and lasers, because the green bubbles are rather easy to shoot down, or, in the worst senario, graze. In addittion, when a danmaku goes too close to one of the Hatates, from any side, they stop fireing while they take evasive manuvers. However, generally, danmaku are canceled before this happens, with the excepeption of the lasers, which are at a tregetory so that they miss the other Hatates, unless they have moved.
> "Is dodgeing all you've got? Is it all you can do? You're so boring, maybe I shouldn't have used you two as a test run for this after all..." the four Hatates gloat.
-
>"Is that so?"
>"Wriggle lets do this."
>get as close as we can to been in the center between them and declare Darkness Sign: Demarcation.
>Wriggle: as close as we can to the center between them and declare Wriggle Sign: Little Bug Storm.
-
>"Is that so?"
>"Wriggle lets do this."
>get as close as we can to been in the center between them and declare Darkness Sign: Demarcation.
>Wriggle: as close as we can to the center between them and declare Wriggle Sign: Little Bug Storm.
> "Show me if it's so Youkai." the Hatates say.
> Wriggle nods. She's too focused to actually talk back right now.
> You can't get that close to the center, but, none the less, you declare your spell card, and you start letting out waves of slow-moving danmaku that intersect with each other. Unfortunetly, you're still having to dodge a fair bit, due to the slow fireing rate, although your 'waves' of danmaku you fire in addittion to the rings are helping.
> "Wriggle Sign: Little Big Storm!" Wriggle declares, surrounding herself with small, white danmaku, which then seemingly 'hatch' into waves of yellow danmaku. Again, they move slowly, but as a defense in this situation, its rather good, and it's helping to cover your spell too.
-
>Focus on defence and wait for an opening.
-
>Focus on defence and wait for an opening.
> Seeing as Hatate mentioned this is her final spell, and mocked you for defense, this is unlikly a good idea, especially as you remember something Aya wrote about Someone who's serious usually has their final spell power up as the time winds down'.
> The fact that there hasn't been any real openings so far dosen't help.
> Which Hatate would you like to focus Demarcation's aimed shots at? Currently, they are being shot at wherever the highest concentration of bullets is.
-
>Aim for the Red. we will make an opening.
-
>Aim for the Red. we will make an opening.
> You focus your shots towards the Red Hatate, who's wild spray isn't particually good at stopping the waves of shots you shoot from your spell, before long, she's forced to stop shooting and dodge, and dodges into one of the curvy lasers, before vanishing.
> The three remaining Hatates re-form into a triangle, stopping their barrage for about half a second, before they resume, fireing quicker than before.
-
>one down three to go.
>focus our fire on the Green one now.
>how's Wriggle holding up?
-
>one down three to go.
>focus our fire on the Green one now.
>how's Wriggle holding up?
> Indeed
> You do so, but the green one's far slower rate of fire, and slightly translucent danmaku really help it dodgeing.
> Wriggle looks fine, besides a few grazes.
-
> keep firing on the green one. see if we can get her to fly right into another shot.
-
> keep firing on the green one. see if we can get her to fly right into another shot.
> The green one, when it's clear it's being focused on, stops fireing altogether and dodges. It dosen't seem like it'll slip up like the more aggressive red one, especially as there are less danmaku to dodge.
> Your spell will not last much longer, and Wriggle's will not last more than a few seconds after that. There is no sign of Hatate's spell weakening.
-
>shift focus to the yellow one for the remaing time. break thru those rings!
>prepair for the stun, and hope Wriggles spell can provide us atleast some cover.
-
>shift focus to the yellow one for the remaing time. break thru those rings!
>prepair for the stun, and hope Wriggles spell can provide us atleast some cover.
> You focus your shots upon the laser-fireing Hatate, and you get lucky, with one of your first waves catching it as it was about to fire it's next wave of lasers.
> It vanishes. The remaining two Hatate now start circleing as they fire. It appears they can now move and fire, unlike before.
> Your spell ends, however, Wriggle is able to protect you from the worst. You still drift a little to avoid the aimed shots, which have become a lot more wild and difficult to avoid now that they are being shot as the Blue Hatate is circleing.
-
>we're halfway there.
>next target is the Blue one. aim for her.
>make sure to help cover Wriggle when her spell times out.
-
>we're halfway there.
>next target is the Blue one. aim for her.
>make sure to help cover Wriggle when her spell times out.
> You are indeed
> You aim at the blue one, but the faster shots, and movement, is making even getting an accurate shot difficult, let alone one she can't dodge.
> Wriggle's spell ends, and your focus shifts to defending her. You both take a few glanceing blows, but otherwise, you're ok, except for wearing down.
-
>"Hey Wriggle, Its later now. Use can use it now."
>Aim a bit ahead of the blue one, get it to fly into our shots.
-
> "Uh... OK?" Wriggle says, pulling out the Mini-Hakkero.
> Wriggle concentrates, but nothing happens. She then recalls how you combined it with a spell card, and pulled out last normal spellcard; her Firefly Sign: Comet on Earth card.
> The mini-Hakkero fizzles for a few seconds, before it becomes the central point... for Wriggle's normal spell.
> "Huh? What's going on?" Wriggle said. "Why won't it work!" she asked, letting go of the hakkero in frustration.
> The Hakkero floated there, still using the spell.
> "Oh... it's not powered up my spell, it's using my spell for me!" Wriggle said.
> The Hakkero is clearing a lot of the danmaku, especially forming walls which are defending against the more annoying blue arrowheads.
-
>"Make sure to grab it before your spell ends."
>Aim a bit ahead of the blue one see if we can get her to fly strait into our shots.
-
>"Make sure to grab it before your spell ends."
>Aim a bit ahead of the blue one see if we can get her to fly strait into our shots.
"Uh, OK... but I don't feel any connection to it... so it's not gonna be easy to know when it's about to end." Wriggle says.
> You and Wriggle both fire towards the blue Hatate, and between the Hakkero, Wriggle, and yourself, as well as the green bubbles, she eventually gets hit by a couple of danmaku, slowing her down, before getting hit by a load more, and vanishing.
> The green Hatate vanishes after the blue one vanishes. It seems taking out three of the Hatates dispelled the spell.
> Hatate is nowhere to be seen.
> Wriggle grabs the Hakkero, which fizzles, and then stops.
-
>Look around, and see if we can spot Hatate.
>be prepair, who knows what tricks she might pull.
>".... did we win?"
-
>Look around, and see if we can spot Hatate.
>be prepair, who knows what tricks she might pull.
>".... did we win?"
> You cannot.
> You're on edge, although tired.
> "Maybe... but we don't have the book." Wriggle says, panting.
> "You won, but she's a coward. She ran away, down the mountain." said a voice.
----
Halfway down Youkai Mountain
> "They actually beat the spell? Oh well, I got far enough away. They'll never catch me now!"
> Hatate stops, seeing a purple object shaped like an oval floating in front of her. It has one eye, which looks angry, and a tounge sticking out.
> You can now control Kogasa. [Surprise]
-
>Pop out from behind our umbrella
>"BOO!"
>... did we scare her?
-
>Pop out from behind our umbrella
>"BOO!"
>... did we scare her?
> You are not behind the umbrella, your human body is inside it.... well kinda. since ou're technically the umbrealla, the human form is just an avatar created of your desire for an owner. Basically, you're floating as a closed umbrella.
> Regardless, you open, and materialise the avatar, who says Boo!
> The being dosent look scared, however, as you check if she looks scaredd, you realise your suspicions when you first noticed her were right, that she's a crow, and that she's holding a book that matches the description Rumia and Wriggle gave you.
> You still control Wriggle and Rumia, as a reminder.
-
>Rumia: "Huh? Who's there?"
>Look around.
-
>Kogasa: Hmmm you must be the Crow my friends are looking for.
>does this crow look familiar at all?
-
>Rumia: "Huh? Who's there?"
>Look around.
> "Turn around and Ill introduce myself, Youkai." said the voice.
> You turn around, faceing the mountain's peak, and see a miko. This one has green hair, and a blue theme with her garb. She also has a snake and frog in her hair, and is holding a weird fan-like thing instead of a Gohei like the Red-White.
> "I am Sanae Kochiya, Shine Maiden of the Moriya Shrine. Don't worry youkai, I'm not here to exterminate you, but to help."
>Kogasa: Hmmm you must be the Crow my friends are looking for.
>does this crow look familiar at all?
> "So what if I am?" Hatate spat. The tengu looked wounded, and tired. She is also holding a bag, which seems to contain papers.
> You have never seen this tengu before, in person. However, she looks similar to Aya... just more purple... and brunette, than the pictures of her you have seen.
-
>Rumia: Your a shrine maiden? just like Reimu?
>"Help us how?"
>Kogasa: "Are you relatied to Aya? you look like her...
>"They are looking for the book you took"
-
>Rumia: Your a shrine maiden? just like Reimu?
>"Help us how?"
>Kogasa: "Are you relatied to Aya? you look like her...
>"They are looking for the book you took"
> Sanae nodded, before adding, "Well, not just like Reimu. I'm much better. I also actually have gods at my shrine, unlike Reimu. I also have the power to perform mir..."
> "As I was about to say, I have the power to perform Miriacles. It would take nothing less for you two to catch up with a Tengu, especially while you're worn out." Sanae said.
---
> "I don't have time for more moronic youkai!" Hatate said, attempting to fly past.
> "Why is the world seemingly conspireing to stop me? First the witch, then those two morons, now this moron... what next, Yukari?!"
-
>Rumia: "Well how would the miriacle work?
>Kogasa: Hey Im not a moron! I'm Kogasa!"
>Yukari: "someone call my name?"
-
>Rumia: "Well how would the miriacle work?
>Kogasa: Hey Im not a moron! I'm Kogasa!"
>Yukari: "someone call my name?"
> "Well, technically it'll be two. I'll use one to restore your energy, and another, I'll call upon the powers of one of the gods at my shrine, Kanako, and her divine winds, to speed you along. If you are ready, we'll begin." Sanae said.
What a weird night this had been. First the Final Spark woke her up, then Kanako forbade her from going to investigate, then Aya showed up with a frog for Sukawo. Suwako then 'translated' what the frog said, who explained what was going on, then Kanako said Sanae could go and should help the Youkai, and that there might be a surprise for her at the end, if she was a good girl.
"I'll have to go with you to keep the winds strong, of course." Sanae added.
---
> "Kogasa? You think I care? I have to deliver my issues of my paper." Hatate said, attempting to fly off, albeit, slower than usual due to her weariness.
-
>Rumia: "Hurray, then lets go!"
>go with the wind
>" Hey, you want to be my friend after this?"
>Kogasa: "Hey!"
> fly infront of this crow.
> "You realy should give back what you took."
-
>Rumia: "Hurray, then lets go!"
>go with the wind
>" Hey, you want to be my friend after this?"
>Kogasa: "Hey!"
> fly infront of this crow.
> "You realy should give back what you took."
> You start to fly off but Sanae shouts, "Wait, I actually need to use it!". You set off shortly afterwards, after Sanae makes loads of sparkles around you, and a pentagram thing is created, surrounding the three of you, centered on Sanae. ou feel the winds behind you, and refreshed.
> "I'm pretty busy, and my job is usually extermination of rowdy Youkai... so as long as you don't cause problems for humans or other beings... I guess so. You don't seem that bad anyway." Sanae says as you fly down the mountain at a speed you've never been at before. It's not as fast as someone like Aya could go, but it's more than enough that you feel confident that you could catch Hatate, from the speed she displayed in the fight.
---
> Hatate scowls as you fly in front. She also looks a little... hurt. The look one has when their pride is stung. For a crow tengu, speed is everything, but Hatate was tired and injured enough to have lost hers, for now, at least.
> "I will, I'll drop it back to it's origional owners. I stole this from a theif, I'm just making some use of it before returning it to whence it came."
-
>Rumia: This this sense of speed... its awesome!
> how does Wriggle look?
>Kogasa: "But your using it with out permission! your no better than the thief!
-
>Rumia: This this sense of speed... its awesome!
> how does Wriggle look?
>Kogasa: "But your using it with out permission! your no better than the thief!
> "Yeah. To be honest, I could go faster alone, but I'm sreading my power bwtween you two as well. Still, this is your fight, not mine." Sanae said.
> Wriggle looks funny. She's not used to the speed, and the wind caused by it is messing up her hair, antennai and her lips and cheeks are quivering.
---
> "Someone give me a break!" Hatate said, pushing Kogasa out of the way, albeit, not much.
---
> "Is that... HER!" Sanae said. She had spotted something, and sped up, taking you and Wriggle with her. You don't like the look in her eyes.
---
> "Oh no..." Kogasa said, seeing three figures coming down the mountain.
-
>Rumia: "Sanae? you ok?"
> what does that look in her eyes look like?
> Kogasa: do we reconise the people coming tword us?
-
>Rumia: "Sanae? you ok?"
> what does that look in her eyes look like?
> Kogasa: do we reconise the people coming tword us?
> "Yes, I've just seen the reward Kanako mentioned..." she said.
> Her eyes just had a glint of something... scary. Its gone now.
> You recognise all three of them, as they get closer. Rumia, Wriggle, and Sanae. The latter you did NOT want to see.
-
>Rumia: "Who? Hatate?"
>Kogasa: Why would we not want to see Sanae?
>....just to be safe hide behind the crow. maybe she hasn't seen us yet.
-
>Rumia: "Who? Hatate?"
>Kogasa: Why would we not want to see Sanae?
>....just to be safe hide behind the crow. maybe she hasn't seen us yet.
> "No, a certain youkai..." Sanae said.
> Sadism. While the rest of the world knows Sanae as a good girl [If at all] you know her as a scary, cruel monster who bashes your head in whenever you meet. That said, it's not like Reimu is any better, but all youkai know she likes to beat them up. Sanae left a more lasting impression of fear on you because it's not her usual side, and no-one belives you when you cry about it.
> You attempt to hide behind Hatate. She gets pretty annoyed, and pushes you away.
-
>Rumia: Look over to were we are heading, who else is there...
>Kogasa: "Please! you have to help me.... SHE is coming!
-
>Rumia: Look over to were we are heading, who else is there...
>Kogasa: "Please! you have to help me.... SHE is coming!
> You manage to open your eyes from squinting for long enough to spot what must be Hatate and Kogasa... who appears to be attempting to hide, but is shoved aside. Odd, wasn't Kogasa going home, to some graveyard? Maybe she got lost.
> Hatate turns around, as Kogasa pleads to her, and panic speards on her face. "Sanae's helping them?! This gets worse and worse!" she said, before sighing. "I can't run from them anymore... I'm too tired, maybe if you hadn't got in my way..." she said, directing the last part at Kogasa.
> "You want it?! Catch! I don't need it anymore anyway! I have the story printed! All I need to do is deliver it!" Hatate said, throwing the book into the air.
-
>Rumia: "The only other person I see is Kogasa."
>Kogasa: Catch the book... its important right?
>"Please! Im begging you here! Help me please! She is getting closer!"
-
>Rumia: "The only other person I see is Kogasa."
>Kogasa: Catch the book... its important right?
>"Please! Im begging you here! Help me please! She is getting closer!"
> "O-O-Ok..." Wriggle said.
> Kogasa would catch the book, but it was thrown towards you two and Sanae, the last person she wanted to go near, although she has now noticed you and Wriggle.
> "Nope." Hatate said, flying off. They were idiots, after all. She had what she wanted, what she needed, in her bag. The book was a bonus to keep at this point, in case she'd missed anything. Or maybe as blackmail material if Sakuya ever showed up for revenge.
-
>Rumia: Catch the book, we need that.
>Kogasa:.... we're gonna die arnt we?
-
>Rumia: Catch the book, we need that.
>Kogasa:.... we're gonna die arnt we?
> You manage to catch the book. Sanae knew it was what you were after from Suwako's 'translation' anyway, so moved to let you stay within her pentagram.
> Why would you think you're gonna die? Sanae's never killed you. Only hurt you. A lot.
-
>Rumia: check the book, is it in one piece?
>"Hey Kogasa, Why are you here? I thought you went home."
>Kogasa: this is going to be painfull....
>Wriggle: Get infront of Hatate. Prevent her escape!
-
>Rumia: check the book, is it in one piece?
>"Hey Kogasa, Why are you here? I thought you went home."
>Kogasa: this is going to be painfull....
>Wriggle: Get infront of Hatate. Prevent her escape!
> Yes... you think. Well, a few pages look old and tattered, and you don't see many books. The Bunbunmaru generally comes on a single page, unless something big happens.
> "I-I-I got lost. And there was someone I hadn't seen before so I had to try and surprise her. She claimed she was a Curse Goddess, and I would have... bad... luck... *gasp!* SHE BROUGHT HER HERE!" Kogasa said, pointing at Sanae. By now, the four were close to each other. Sanae was more curious right now at how the two youkai she was helping knew Kogasa. She smiled when she heard it seemed Kogasa had a run-in with Hina.
> Since Sanae has stopped, you leave the pentagram, however, Hatate is slow enough that you can catch up to her, although when she noticed you, she starts flying erratically so you cannot get in front of her.
-
>Rumia: "Hm? You know Sanae? I didn't know you two were friends."
>Wriggle: Shoot her down. she mustn't be allowed to escape.
-
>Rumia: "Hm? You know Sanae? I didn't know you two were friends."
>Wriggle: Shoot her down. she mustn't be allowed to escape.
> "Not quite Rumia... mikos and me do not get on well... they tend to hurt me. That one especially." Kogasa says, trembleing a little.
> Wriggle fires some nonspell danmaku at Hatate, who attempts to dodge, but is clipped a few times. However, noteably, the bag's strap breaks, cuaisng the bag to fall from the air, the papers going into the air... caught by a sudden change in wind... and into the river.
> Hatate, upon noticeing this, chases after them, but is too tired and slow to prevent it. "NOOOOOO!" she cries, landing next to the river.
> Sanae glances up the mountain. She was sure that gust of wind was Kanako's doing, helping them out...
-
>Wriggle: Catch her while she's distracted!
>Kogasa: Go help get Hatate! Maybe we can use her to distract Sanae!
-
>Wriggle: Catch her while she's distracted!
>Kogasa: Go help get Hatate! Maybe we can use her to distract Sanae!
> Wriggle and Kogasa move in to try and catch Hatate. She dosen't resist. She has no point to anymore. She's just sobbing quietly.
-
> Nothing else happens, so Sanae decides to speak.
> "Well, it's far too early for me. Well done... you youkai." she said, patting Kogasa on the back without warning [Making her pull a worried face when Sanae approached, but relax afterwards] She yawned, and then began to fly back up the mountain.
> Hatate stopped sobbing, although she sniffled occasionally, and she too, turned to head back to the Tengu Village, her home.
> Kogasa said goodbye, before she started heading down the mountain, hopefully towards her home. Hopefully.
> Kogasa and Hatate are both close enough to say any parting words. Sanae's long gone.
-
>Rumia: "Thanks, Kogasa!"
>"Okay, let's go return this to... um, were we supposed to give it back directly or take it to Reimu?"
-
>Rumia: "Thanks, Kogasa!"
>"Okay, let's go return this to... um, were we supposed to give it back directly or take it to Reimu?"
>Kogasa waves, not quite sure what she was being thanked for this time. All she did was cower from Sanae, right? Of courser, she didn't know she'd allowed you to catch Hatate by talking to her.
> "I think if that book is this important to the lake mansion, we should give it back to the mansion, not the red-white." Wriggle said, before remembering, "We gotta give Marisa's box back too!"
-
>"Hey Kogasa, Do you want to come with us as we return these things?"
>Think: Which place is closer, the shrine or the lake?
-
>"Hey Kogasa, Do you want to come with us as we return these things?"
>Think: Which place is closer, the shrine or the lake?
> "No, I really gotta go home now. If I can find it." the karakasa youkai said.
> The lake is passed on the way to the shrine, but you'd be going to the lake in the morning anyway to meet with Cirno and the others, so nomatter which you choose, the trip would be just as long.
-
>Might as well sopt at the mansion first.
>"Can you find your way home from the lake or the shrine?"
-
>Might as well sopt at the mansion first.
>"Can you find your way home from the lake or the shrine?"
> You decide to go to the mansion first.
> Kogasa shakes her head, before adding, "I gotta get back soon anyway. There's this old lady who always goes to her husband's grave early."
