Maybe we should just have a thread for game bundles and sales if this becomes more frequent. :D
Okay! :3
This is the official thread for game sales (be it Steam/Desura/etc sales, Amazon sales, whatever) and bundles (Humble Indie Bundles, Indie Royale, etc). Since these are becoming much more common nowadays, especially in the indie market, it'd probably be best to keep this thread up to date instead of making a bunch of them-- especially since there will likely be a bunch of sales going on for Black Friday/Christmas/New Years and so on.
Recent bundle threads (now closed in lieu of this thread):
Indie Royale thread (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,11155.0.html) (Difficult 2nd Bundle now finished.)
Humble Voxatron Bundle thread (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,11209.0.html) (now finished)
Merging Paul's thread to this one, since it just started.
Easy link for reference: http://www.humblebundle.com/
-
Because merging screwed up the post order:
Maybe we should just have a thread for game bundles and sales if this becomes more frequent. :D
Anyway, not really a bundle, but some codes to buy directly from the developer's sites:
http://www.showmethegames.com/sales.php
Frozen Synapse is on there in case anyone missed it. Again, my name is ProfessorPaul1290 on the UK1 server. Remember that this comes with two copies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVGu_ydmwm8&hd=1
AI War: Fleet Command is on there as well, which I've mentioned before as one of my favorite strategy games next to. There's a demo on Arcen's site which I highly recommend at least trying if you like strategy games at all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KO125KMoVjE&hd=1
Evochron Mercenary is there as well, which I recommend at least checking out the demo for if you're looking for a space sim. It's somewhat like Freelancer except with Newtonian physics and combat similar to I-War 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lW6vHgRgTe8&hd=1
Space Pirates and Zombies, Gratuitous Space Battles, and a few others are on there as well.
Keep in mind these are codes for purchasing directly from the developer's sites so if purchasing from that dev's site lets you register it on Steam, Impulse, or whatever then that will work as it normally would.

Lots of stuff is up to 80% off on Gamersgate, it seems :o (http://www.gamersgate.com/games?prio=relevance&q=indieweek)
-
There's a sale going on on Steam for Super Meat Boy's anniversary. Contains Super Meat Boy, of course, as well as games like VVVVVV, World of Goo, Braid, Mechanarium, Aquaria, and more, all for 50% off, or 75% off if you buy the whole package. (http://store.steampowered.com/sub/12315).

Funny, the only one I don't have is BIT.TRIP Runner, I own every other game in the bundle. XP Still, that is a very sweet deal.

Same here, except I also don't have Half-Life 2. Which doesn't appear to be discounted (any more than usual) anyway...
-
The new Indie Royale is almost out, but this time, there is a twist-- to help with server load when the games are first released, they have started a preorder for the next bundle for $3.99 and up. The catch? You won't know what the games are until they are released, but you will receive them immediately.
Thoughts? (https://secure.indieroyale.com/cart)
EDIT: Also, the new Humble Indie Bundle is now out-- this time including Introversion games Darwinia, Multiwinia, Uplink, and DEFCON, as well as prototype tech demos, and Aquaria and Crayon Physics Deluxe if you pay over the average.
http://www.humblebundle.com/
-
Introversion games
What an... interesting choice for a title. Anyway, bought.
-
Part of me says "I already own all of those games already, don't I" and another part of me says "it's worth a little to support indie developers, isn't it". I'll see how much I have left over after I pay my rent and utilities for the month.
-
Five days of kickass sales again. (http://store.steampowered.com/) A friend just bought me Portal 2, wooo~

Also the craziness of Steam sales strikes me again as I just bought DX: HR and all DLC for US$40.

Next Indieroyale is up (http://www.indieroyale.com/?the-really-big-bundle)
-
Huh, neat. I thought Eufloria looked interesting a while back, so I shall check this out. :D
For those who haven't clicked the link, this bundle's lineup includes:
Really Big Sky (http://bossbaddie.co.uk/)
Runespell: Overture (http://www.runespell.com/category/game/)
Cthulhu Saves the World (http://store.steampowered.com/app/107310/) and Breath of Death VII (http://store.steampowered.com/app/107300/)
Eufloria (http://www.eufloria-game.com/news.php).
EDIT: Also, Dungeons of Dredmor (http://www.dungeonsofdredmor.com/), a fantastic and hilarious indie roguelike, as well as source codes for Darwinia, Multiwinia, DEFCON, and Uplink have been added to the Humble Introversion Bundle. Seven days left!
-
Dungeons of Dredmor added? Goddamnit, just when I thought I'd skip this bundle :V
-
Maaaaaaan, I *just* bought Runespell Overture during the Steam Autumn Sale, too. Think I'll skip this Indie Royale, I already own all the half that interests me.
Also damnit Humble Bundle why can't you do Steam keys on a per-game basis like Indie Royale, then I could give someone else that copy of Dungeons of Dredmor which I already owned. >=| (Also I guess Uplink too since I already owned that. =P)

Terraria's 75% off for today only. Not saying it's not worth the full price, but if you want it for cheap, now's the time.

Not mentioned, but important: This is the start of a full month of sales on Steam. And, every day you visit the page for the daily deal, you're entered into a daily drawing. 10 people each day get the top 10 items on their wishlist.
EDIT: Okay apparently it's not all month long BUT WHATEVER

I was reading this and loving it until I realized that it was for Steam users. It's not like I don't have Steam, but I really really hate using it. I much prefer to play games without having Steam in the background, because space on my laptop is at a premium and every little thing makes it lag. Oh well.

Indie Royale's Xmas Bundle is out now: http://www.indieroyale.com/
Contains The Blackwell Trilogy: Remastered, Eets, Dino D-Day, and The Oil Blue. I haven't heard of any of these, so I think I might wait to hear some opinions before I consider getting it.
-
Bought it just so I could gift Haku Dino D-Day :V

Wow and there goes a nice chunk of my Steam wishlist :]
Man bundles are awesome (http://www.steamcalculator.com/id/Suikama) ;)
-
In regards to Cave Story; the first thing I thought I'd do was replace Balrog's intro phrase with the obviously superior original.
Funny that there's so much fan backlash over five instances of the phrase, though. I thought there would be more, but nope lol.
http://www.mediafire.com/?2hyl2rkobgr8a4m
Extract in Cave Story folder, replace said files.

I haven't had a chance to look into it just yet. What was the phrase changed to in the newer version? :O

Super Meat Boy and NightSky seem to include FLAC versions, as well. :o
-
Well, too bad I don't have an international credit card to buy this stuff. Indie Bundle 4 is awesome. ;;
-
Paypal accounts can be linked to your bank account or you can charge money to them from your bank account, so you don't need a credit card at all. Not sure if that works for the other possible payment methods for the Humble Bundle as well.

STEAM HOLIDAY SALES ARE UP
I think I said enough already.
-
STEAM HOLIDAY SALES ARE UP
I think I said enough already.
aaaandd the site is down :3
-
Hopefully some of the objectives are for games I actually have, which isn't very many. And hopefully stuff that doesn't require being far in or having beaten a game.
Anyway, none of the game objectives were for ones I had, but the one that didn't require playing a game gave me Half-Life 2 Episode Two. Nice.
-
I got Assassin's Creed 2 for free from this... the only game of the series I didn't own yet (the rest I have on PS3). I fear Steam's psychic powers O___o
-
Recettear is 4.99 today. I recall some folks wanting that after they missed out on the sale last year, so here's your chance!
(Also, Chantelise is 2.49 today. For that price, I might actually go for it.)
-

Anyone who isn't sufficiently capitalist sorely needs to rectify it, especially at that price.
EDIT: And Dungeons of Dredmor is all of $1.24. Definitely worth grabbing!
-
(Also, Chantelise is 2.49 today. For that price, I might actually go for it.)
Balls, I?m getting it then
Also not really on sale, but Rock of Ages has dropped to $5. I think I?m willing to give it a shot.
-

Wait on it, it might drop even further during the sale.
-
Tropico 4's $13.59. Not exactly dirt cheap by Steam standards, but if you love citybuilders, irreverant political satire, and Latin music, you definitely can't go wrong.
-
EDIT: And Dungeons of Dredmor is all of $1.24. Definitely worth grabbing!
The Realm of the Diggle Gods expansion is $0.74. *_*
-
Got Chantelise and Recettear. I had those on the wishlist anyway, and the odds of winning one of the wishlist things is unlikely, so i figured might as well.
Also got the Gundemonium Collection on Steam cause that much for 3 mostly decent doujin shmups, sure. I'm leaving Jamestown and Satazius on the wishlist though cause I'm cheap.
-

Jamestown is in the current Humble Indie Bundle, where you can pay whatever you want :V
Speaking of, they've added Humble Indie Bundle 3 to the deal now, too. :o
-
Made sure to pay 1 cent above the average. That gets rid of Jamestown, Cave Story +, and VVVVVV from my Steam Wishlist. Now to add 3 more games to it just in case.
Pretty much my first time actually buying stuff through Steam and the Humble Bundle thing.
-
I did one of the objectives and got a Dota 2 "Hardware Survey" gift. What does this thing even do? ???
-
I did one of the objectives and got a Dota 2 "Hardware Survey" gift. What does this thing even do? ???
I think it's a DotA 2 invite, but I'm not sure.
I'll take it off your hands if you don't want it? :V
EDIT: Reddit (http://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/m5os8/can_someone_with_the_dota_2_beta_please_tell_me/) apparently agrees with me - and what's more, it may come with two more invites. Maybe. I'm not quite sure.
EDIT 2: Okay, apparently not on that latter part.
-
Chantelise looks very tempting at that price...maybe I'll buy two copies and gift one.
Also got the Gundemonium Collection on Steam cause that much for 3 mostly decent doujin shmups, sure. I'm leaving Jamestown and Satazius on the wishlist though cause I'm cheap.
The collection is indeed a lot of fun. I love the frantic gameplay and the arrange OST is great (originals...not so much, and I say this as a MIDI enthusiast).
I also recommend getting Jamestown as well down the road.
-
The Realm of the Diggle Gods expansion is $0.74. *_*
God damnit.
I bought it upon release like not even a week ago, when it was y'know 3$. And I bought it for like eight other people too as my christmas gift to the IRC I go to.
Fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
-

God I want it so much, but I'm telling myself not to buy it, because I already have everything else Tropico, and I still have way too much of 2 and 3 and the expansions to play :derp:
But yes, the Tropico series is a must have for anyone who's enjoyed a citybuilder once.
-
I'm gonna be poor(er) by the time this is over~ I just nabbed Orcs Must Die, along with its DLC, Super Meat Boy, and now I'm targetting Psychonauts and Half-Life Source. Time to replenish my Steam bucks...
-
I'm looking for someone to do a Coal for Coal trade for the trading objective. I've been trying it so far with no luck, but maybe there'd be better luck if I tried it with other people.
Steam profile is chaoticenigma.
So if anyone here wants to help me try to get it, that'd be nice.
Edit: just got it. But if anyone here wants to add me anyway, it's fine.
-
I just got Railworks 3, it's going for $3,50, or $4 if you get the Horseshoe pack. I got the pack.
If you really love trains or just simulators in general or just want to learn something new, I think this is the opportunity.
It's usually so freaking expensive. but even the- holy shit looks like I got it on the last freaking minute, nevermind :derp:
Welp, lucky me I guess :V
At any rate, even Skyrim is on sale now, and Borderlands, and stuff.
-
Coal crafting confirmed for awesome.
In the vein of "I got the entire Overlord series". I've also gotten Hitman: Blood Money from the achievements.
This giveaway is being very good to me~
-
I got the Majesty 2 Collection from the objectives. It looks interesting, but fantasy isn't necessarily my cup of tea, so if anybody wants it I'm offering it.
-
I've got four coal so far-- and once I get the Frozen Synapse achievement, hopefully it'll be five. I generally don't put effort into achievements, but if it means free stuff I could potentially give away, it sounds like a fun idea to me. :3
-
dfosafjsoiafijasf goddamn crows in AYIM are driving me insane
why I have to pass this stupid level to get the achievement ;_;
-
As soon as I got the achievement, I quit playing the game. But maybe I'll go back to it someday.
-
Holy crap.
Sonic Generations is ten bucks right now. That's about a fifth of the price of the console version for one of the best games the franchise has given us in years. If you already own the game, the Casino Night DLC's officially out for the PC version.
Also a bunch of other great deals like Worms, Red Faction, and Beat Hazard.
-
Is there anyway to get the CrimeCraft update someway other than Steam? Steam refuses to update the thing, and when I try to load the game it says the game is unavailable at the moment. I would be pissed if I couldn't get the achievement because I can't get the game to work at all.
I plan to delete the damn thing too once I'm done with it cause this at the moment useless(and probably not good) game is taking up 10 GB of space.
-

I have a 33% off coupon for Sega games if anyone would like to trade for it. It says that it can be used for Sonic Generations (among many other things), but I don't think I'll ever use it, so!
-
Yo, I got a coupon for Solar 2 lying around- we're talking 50% off here. Hit me up if you want a trade.
In the meantime, Sonic Generations, Bastion and Anomaly: Warzone Earth are all on sale today. Go grab them while you can. I whole heartedly recommend all three of them, especially Bastion.
-
Don't forget Rock of Ages being only for only two and a half dollars~
-
welp I just bought four more copies of Bastion
yeah
-
Coupons don't work until after the sale.
But I totally grabbed Sonic Generations today.
-
An' to nobody's surprise, Bastion's the top seller for the under-tens. You're readin' this in the Stranger's voice.
-
Oh god the coal, I have so much coal
And yet just not enough to craft something
Also Valve is giving me a reason to actually play all my humble bundle games :V
-
Terraria's up for sale again if for some reason you haven't bought it yet.
Also, the Dawn of War series and a bunch of Star Wars games are on cheap too if you're interested.
...Cities in Motion looks nice, but I don't see the point of buying that when games like OpenTTD exist.
-
i have a 50% off reccettear coupon on steam, if for some reason the already 50% off wasnt enough for you :V
-
At least the 50% coupons have some potential value. I'm stuck with a most likely useless -33% Valve.
But I got Recettear when it was on sale. I also need to actually play it more since I didn't play very far.
-
I'm stuck with a most likely useless -33% Valve.
Could be worse, could be a -25% Valve coupon.
I managed to get enough coal to craft with... and it got me a coupon for a game I already own. I don't imagine anybody wants -33% off Tropico 4, do they?
-
I've got a Sniper Ghost Warrior Gold + DLCs ticket. Anyone interested? Would trade for a game I like (offer me) around the same value. Would take 10 Steambucks for it, too. (The game + DLC is at 14USD with the holiday sale)
-
Here's mine (http://steamcommunity.com/id/Pon/inventory/#753). Plus two copies of The Ship (which I already had), for some reason.
-
As for me I've got two -25% Valve ones, a -50% Valve, and a -25% Paradox. All are up for trade (though I may plan to use them....)
-
Hey, tired of buying stuff? Yeah, sure you are. Why not give the Free Indie Bundle a try?
http://theturtle.editions.free.fr/nanigaming/freeindiebundle/
Technically it's just a group of freeware games that aren't even in a bundle, but hey, some of 'em look okay, so they're worth a try perhaps. That is, if you're not all busy with Katawa Shoujo right now. :P
-
The Indie Royale New Year's Bundle has gone live!
Fractal
Max and the Magic Marker
Nuclear Dawn
Super Crossfire
-
http://www.indieroyale.com/
Indie Royale is currently running a 'lightning round' where you have 100 hours (instead of 5 days) to buy stuff. This time, it is full of Serious Sam games. Get in on it if you want 'em, I suppose.
-
Damn, and I already got TFE and TSE HD and classic on Steam :|
e: well look, Suikama is a lovely son of a bitch
-
Was trying to decide whether to get it for a while, checked and saw it wasn't done yet then bought it. I'm sure I'll probably like at least one of them and I still saved a lot of money compared to full price.

Yessssss. Title changed accordingly.
Also with vast amounts of complaining because you have to pay $1 for Steam keys now after the rampant abuse of the last one. :V
Whiners gonna whine. People gotta stop being scumbags for charity events. >:<
-
And now I have an extra key for World of Goo
Anyone want it? :derp:

If noone is taking it, I will.

Request sent. :3c

Just got my
poor under average bundle. :3c
EDGE seems fun as heck. So does Anomaly, but my comp probably can't handle it.
Also, request accepted.
-
Poastan from android.
Any of these games good?
-
World of Goo is a pretty nice game, and it's a good port to Android. Osmos is pretty, but it seems like it's a bit of a battery-sucker. EDGE seems okay, but I haven't really played much of it, and I haven't tried Anomaly yet. And as usual, there'll probably be new stuff added in upcoming days-- and if the picture on the Humble Bundle page is any indication, there'll potentially be 3 more. :O
-
Plants vs Zombies has to come.
inb4 Humble INDIE Bundle
-
New Indiegala is up.
I'll be passing on this one as I'm not interested in the stuff.
-
Probably went unnoticed, but...
Humble Bundle added Toki Tori to the games, and even new under average purchases can get it! :D
-
Valentine Bundle is up on Indie Royale now. It has Hoard, Zeno Clash and both Soulcaster games, as well as an adventure game called Lume.
-
Already have HOARD and DLC, not interested in the rest :derp:
-
I think this goes here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8MhLvjoBTs)
Mojang(creators of Minecraft) will be speedcoding a game this saturday and sunday, and live-streaming it through the Humble Bundle website.
Should be fun
e: Woooo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lY2nffjfRvI)
-
Intriguing. I'm in.
-
The Mojang guys are currently asleep, but the Oxeye guys are currently streaming, and so are the two Wolfire coders.
Getting the Mojam now gets you all three games from the three developers
e: It's over now, Notch's beard is safe.
-
Is the Wolffire one done, or are they still working on it?
Also wonder what the one that hasn't be uploaded is.
Edit: it's not over yet
http://www.humblebundle.com/?last-minute=mojam
-
What? Oh, they're still selling it, but the stream's over.
Also I don't know, they said they'd work more on the games afterwards if they liked the projects enough.
Oxeye still hasn't released a single build, so they're certainly not done yet(way to slow :V), and Mojang has released their source code, meaning they're probably leaving it to the fans to work on. I still haven't even downloaded them yet, though.
-
Indie Royale's next bundle is out now-- this time, a handful of games in their alpha stage. (http://www.indieroyale.com/)
Towns appears to be a mixture of Dwarf Fortress and SimCity or something, 3079 appears to be Minecraft minus mining and crafting and more shooting and questing, and Wyv and Keep seems to be a co-op puzzle platformer.
-
This weekend's Steam sale is for PAYDAY: The Heist. Play as one of four criminals executing one of six daring capers while fending of waves of the boys in blue. It certainly has its shortcomings, but the intensity never really lets up and the game refuses to take itself seriously (if the VA's and dialogue don't clue you in immediately). It rewards players for teamwork in addition to trying and accomplishing a lot of different things. The more you do, the more levels you gain, allowing for a lot of character customization. Vets get a whole slew of tools at their disposal, yet fresh-blood players are fully capable of jumping into a game with career criminals and being the MVP. Apparently, DLC will be released as well. It's a great indie FPS and free to try for the weekend for those on the fence.
-
Indie Gala is having a HUGE bundle now. 14 games (both their bundles put together, apparently; you get it if you beat the average price), 9 soundtracks, and a copy of Postal: Classic and Uncut to sweeten the deal.
-
Not strictly about a sale or bundle, but noteworthy nonetheless: Paradox Interactive will give Cities in Motion free on GamersGate to anyone who takes about ten to fifteen minutes or so to fill out this survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ParadoxSurvey).
-
Humble Bundle for Android 2 is up: http://www.humblebundle.com/
I haven't played the rest, but one game in here I do know about is Avadon: The Black Fortress. If you have any interest in old-school RPG games then you'll definitely want Avadon: The Black Fortress.
It's from Spiderweb Software, the same developer who made the Exile series, the Geneforge series, the Avernum series, and Nethergate.

IndieRoyale's Ninja Lightning Pack has been released.
It's a definite pass for me, but maybe some others would be interested.
-
I know this hasn't been released yet, but GamersGate announced the IndieFort Bundle just recently, although it isn't going up until the 5th of this month. (http://www.indiegamemag.com/gamersgate-announces-the-indiefort-bundle/)
Curious what's in the bundle? Well, the list is from the article:
- Black Market
- Cardinal Quest
- Demise Ascension WELP, need to fix this: It was swapped to Devil Whisker instead.
- Kenshi
- Wanderlust Rebirth
- Steel Storm
The minimum price will be $6, although anything above the minimum price goes straight to the developers. Demise Ascension is so worth the bundle it if you really love old-school dungeon crawlers, no question asked.
EDIT: Had to fix the list a bit since Gamersgate swapped Demise Ascension out. However, they didn't even fix the description at all - they just swapped the name out. EDIT2: Now I realize why they only swapped the name out - the description actually does fit Devil Whisker, not Demise, because I just remembered that the game isn't at all like a Elders Scroll game.
-
IndieRoyale's April Fool Bundle is up for preorder.
Copied over from the description.
Headlining the bundle in an acclaimed tower-defense game with a free built-in expansion (for Windows on Steam, Desura, and DRM-free). Featured alongside it is a retro turn-based dungeon crawler (for Windows and Mac in a Steam debut, Windows and Linux on Desura, and Windows/Mac/Linux DRM-free), a pair of titles from the same developer spanning platformer shooter and horizontal shmup (for Windows on Steam, Desura, and DRM-free), and an incendiary 2D action platformer (for Windows on Desura and DRM-free).
I'm not certain of what the games could be, but this is gonna be a definite preorder just so I can get the minimum. Not sure about which tower defense it would be, but the turn based dungeon crawler and the shmup is definitely enough for me. Though I'm trying to think of a developer for that hint and what the game could be.
Edit: Actually I'm not sure now. I might just try to grab it early if it has anything I'm interested in.
Edit2: And definitely passing on this one.

Upcoming indie game Vessel is 20% off for PAX weekend, with a Steam unlock code included for buying at its website. Played the PAX demo and it's pretty interesting stuff! Might get that, Monaco, and a few more great-looking ideas.
Cave has put most of their iOS and Android games (except Mushi Futari) (http://www.cave-world.com/en/sp/2ndanniversary-sale/) on discount for the week, in celebration of their two-year anniversary on the iOS platform.

I dont think any of the CAVE games are actually on android in english

I dont think any of the CAVE games are actually on android in english
I think they are available internationally, but:
- may not have a localized interface
- may need searching by Japanese name (eg. 怒首領蜂 not 'DoDonpachi')
Not sure about this however.
-
The oversaturation of bundles continues. (http://www.indieroyale.com/)
-
I really hope this isn't the new standard for Humble Bundle. I am probably skipping on the one that just released.
I got the IndieRoyale when it was at $4.01. Played a little bit of Tobe's and Unstoppable Gorg so far.
-
Just so you guys know, Steam still has Company of Heroes for $2, or the Complete pack (with both expansions) for $10.
If you like WW2, RTSes, or WW2-themed RTSes, you should strongly consider picking it up.
-
Jesus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvHAtMn-mUg), the new Humble Bundle has Amnesia, Limbo and Psychonauts
e: Who wants Limbo? I have it already
-
So I see! I haven't bought it yet (and I already have Psychonauts, Limbo, and Bastion), but I'll likely get it for Amnesia :O
-
Already have Bastion. Gonna have to hunt down $1 some time in the next two weeks for the other three, though.
...okay, mostly just for Psychonauts.
-
Limbo: seen a friend play it, never played it myself, but I kinda spoiled the entire story to myself by watching a playthrough.
Amnesia: same as above.
Psychonauts: it's old, but I heard many people say it's good, so why not...
Sword and Sworcery: huh?
Bastion: WANT
Sold! I only paid 8 dollars 'cause I'm a cheapass. It's the first indie bundle I've purchased. And I like it.
-
jesus christ this is amazing
buying this right now
my computer can't even HANDLE half these games and I still want it
-
Braid, Super Meat Boy, and Lone Survivor added to Humble Bundle 5. The Moar Stuff key requires beat the Average as well.
Not really sure whether this or Humble 4 is better. Humble 4 was pretty nice, but I'll need to try out all this stuff first. The only one of these games I had before was Super Meat Boy.
-
Wow this is pretty much has every single "big" PC indie game in it now
-
3.5 Million get
The sales are just climbing and climbing. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a third addition to the bundle
-
I got this bundle as a gift from Matsy and Donut for coming back from vacation mostly in one piece. Thanks, guys.
-
Holy crap, a friend recommended Lone Survivor to me a couple weeks ago and now I don't have to buy it anymore because they added it to the bundle! It also has Braid, so I have two Braids now! I guess I'll give it to a friend. Super Meat Boy sounds like one of those super-frustrating platformers, but still. That bundle thing is great.
-
Holy crap, the sales are tremendous
Gonna break $4mil in a bit

This is my first Humble Indie Bundle!
Looked forward to Braid, but it's a little too puzzling for me. Switched to Super Meat Boy and AW YEAH. This is awesome. What an addictive platformer!
Not sure about the other games though. Reviews tell me they're good but I'm afraid they won't fit my tastes.
-
Oh how I wish I were an indie developer making low-def sprite platformers right now
-
Oh how I wish I were an indie developer making low-def sprite platformers right now
then do it you bum :V
-
No no, I'm stupid so I decided to become an engineer instead
-
I got the bundle too so that I could play Bastion during my 30 minute lunch break at work. :3
-
Oh how I wish I were an indie developer making low-def sprite platformers right now
Doesn't work that way. At least not completely... I donated all of the cash to charities. Because, you know, Suikama's pic and whatnot. They probably got enough cash and so does Humble Bundle Inc. *shrug*
>Implying that makes a great difference
-
huuuuurrr
The default split already gives 20% to charity, at an average purchase of $8.34 as of right now, with over 500 thousand copies sold, and excluding the occasional hipster with too much free time(protip: you) it being safe to assume the overwhelming majority of people will go with the default split, that's over 800 thousand dollars.
The developers getting 65% of the default split gives them(right now) just under 2.8 million dollars. Which for a week of sale is a lot.
So yeah, for all practical purposes, it does work that way.
-
EDIT: Where the fuck is the delete button when I need it
I'm so used to the WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING thread being on top
god I need sleep
-
I'm so used to the WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING thread being on top
when in doubt, blame haku :smug:
-
crikes, I think this game is going to break 5 million. Damn. It's only got 15 hours left, but they only need 100k more to break the 5 million mark
That's a LOT of cash.
-
Yep, they broke 5 million. And then some. Gj
when in doubt, blame haku :smug:
Fuck you and your round pink face and blue hair

(I'd rather you put "sdsfsgs" there instead of "hurrrrr". Oh well, personal preferences. I know I'm a hipstah, but thanks for the protip.)
Two weeks actually, and divided by 8 studios it is a bit less cash, but still quite a lot indeed. 400 thousand dollars each. Nice.
I don't know man. It was a pretty fun feature. You don't normally have a chance to choose how to split the money among involved parties. There must have been plenty more people who played with it, if only out of curiosity. In any case...
Yeah. Five million dollars. Good game, well played. As far as I know, the previous bundle only raised something below four million, so it's a new record. Glad to have been a part of it. And Bastion is a hell of a game. Then there is the rest of the games I haven't touched yet. Amazing.
Oh and I felt that Humble Brony Bundle were gathering strength to challenge Notch's first place on the list of top contributors in the last minute. So they did. Damn bronies. That rant does not even make sense, as Notch stated somewhere that he liked watching My Little Pony as well.
-
Current Indie Royale (http://www.indieroyale.com/) has the three games in Gundemonium Collection and also Acceleration of Suguri. May be of interest to the people around here who haven't got at least the collection already.
-
Man, they really went all-out on this one. Will probably grab it for the shmups. :>
-
Well now, its been awhile since I've seen one that actually interested me. Lookin' like I'm gonna have to gift GC though, seeing as I already have it.
-
You must be joking me |:
I'm poor yo
But I really want Gundemonium
-
I want them games sooo bad but my mom probably wont buy them for me ;_;
-
No, fuck that she brought it for me~
Big christmas prezzie for her then :D

Steam Summer Sales have begun! Now with some absurdities called Steam Badges!
Quite a few good deals for indie, TW: Shogun 2, Portal series, and others. Plus you get to vote on the next day's Community Choice deal (voted for 60% off Witcher 2).
-
The Steam Summer Sale HAS BEGUN.
Daily Deals:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Crusader Kings II
Heroes of Might and Magic VI
Indie Bundle I (Anomaly: Warzone Earth, Cave Story+, EDGE, Lone Survivor, The Baconing)
Legend of Grimrock
Portal 2
Ridge Racer Unbounded
Shogun 2: Total War
Terraria
Flash Deals at the time of this post (they rotate faster, so check Steam yourself every now and then):
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Mafia II
Rayman Origins
SpaceChem
-
Beaten to the Steam sales announcements TWICE. My Steam senses were tingling, but my harbinger skills are lacking.
-
Nothing I want for today's sale, partially because I bought most of this stuff during the last summer sale. Wondering what surprises are in store for the next few days.
-
I, on the other hand, treated myself to some Shogun today~<3
-
Nom nom nom'd:
Grimlock (60% off)
Must buy (But I have it already):
Shogun 2 series (75% off)
Crusader Kings II series (75% off)
Portal series (75% off)
-
Haven't bought any of the stuff yet.
Binding of Isaac plus DLC is one of the dailies for 75% off. If you, for some reason, don't already own this game, go buy it.
But I'll wait for the flash deals to change to see about anything or the dailies. I know I'll be getting Oath in Felghana when Day 5 comes.
-
I'm Harry Enfield for the next 9 days straight. LODS OF EMONE. MP3 is already 50% off? Suits me just fine.
Payday's a fantastic indie-type FPS, but it's far better when played with a few people. Tribes is also a great arena multiplayer if you can stomach the learning curve. I sure as hell couldn't. Also pay-to-win.
-
Augh iqernkwrtnetbebmetefv
This has been my first steam summer sale for me and I had money to burn so I got:
Portal 1 and 2 bundle
Portal 2
2 copies of Terraria
2 Cthulu saves the world/breath of death packs
Dungeon Defenders
From Dust
aaaaaaaaaaaaa its only the second day
-
At the rate you're going Hourai, Gaben will own your wallet by the end of all this. :V
-
The Steam Badges are live, and I already got "Pillar of Community".
-
Talk about timing... July is proving an expensive month for me; I already brought video tutorials, along with an IPS monitor, not to mention food and a haircut. This means I'm gonna have to pass a good number of these deals up, no matter how inexpensive.
-

I know the feeling. The end of this month is going to see about five different games I really want coming out in the period of about 7 days, so... most of my money's going there.
I just got a laptop upgrade, though, and thus will be able to play a lot of the games I've owned for a while now, so... yeah, no real need for new ones.
-
This is the second Steam Summer sale to get a hold of me. I already bought a bunch of the offerings either during the previous summer sale or the holiday sale, but so far it's gotten me Tribes Ascend (plus starter pack), Borderlands, Frozen Synapse, two Indie Bundles, both Ys games, and a bunch of DLC. Shame I can't install this all at once due to my ISP's data cap.
-
how on earth was my life complete before I got Renegade Ops

What have I grabbed so far... aside from cheap DLC for stuff I already had...
Binding of Isaac, Trine 2, Max Payne 3, Darksiders, both Ys games, Ass Creed Revs, Grimrock, and SerSam3
-
Borderlands
You. Me. Co-op.
-
Binding of Issac bundle!
Not sure what else to get, was thinking G-mod or that half-life collection.

Seriously, Broderlands is OK when played alone. With multiple people, it's far better. Each class is distinct, but basic gameplay only changes so much. Also, go nuts with your favorite types of weapon, but give every kind a try. The only ones I never used were repeaters, but that's only because revolvers were so much fun.
You. Me. Co-op.
Oh yeah. Remember how I brought this up some time ago? I brought it up with my friends before mentioning it on #t-m. There was a waiting list.
-

I remember. We never played co-op because of your friends. Treachery! >:(
-
You. Me. Co-op.
Reminds me I still haven't even loaded up my copy. :V
We should coordinate some full MotK co-op sometime.
-

We could set up a game with T-A-C, theshim, EP and I if everyone is interested.
-
I've always wanted a Borderlands partner or two :(
-
Tried to not buy anything for this, but the US$7.50 Killing Floor bundle was too good to pass. And yeah, it's a hell of a lot of fun - plus with the number of players here who have it, a co-op game should be easy to host!
-
I just got gifted Serious Sam BFE :V
-
Plugs for today: Metro 2033 is great. There's a big focus on storytelling, environments, immersion and characters. Everything has a gritty feel to it. Weapons are very unique and although there's little in the way of enemy variety, each type is VERY different from another. The haunting overtone to the entire thing is the icing on the cake. Enjoy your library visit.
Also KotOR is fantastic and you've deprived yourself if you've let it sit for 10 frikkin' years.
Purchases for today: Dear Esther sounded interesting. The other FPS games I can pass on for now.
-
I just got gifted Serious Sam BFE :V
And I bought it today and was delightfully surprised to see it run perfectly on my lappy. :3

Limbo's a great (albeit short) puzzle platformer. Also, for the last time, Company of Heroes is pancreas-punchingly good, and built by the same folks who made the Warhammer 40k games. Codfish: Blah Cops is still $20? Wake me when it's $5 and I need to kill 6 hours.

OH SHI-
I already got it on christmas sale though :V

OOPS.

Ho man, this is the best day yet.

Ho man, this is the best day yet.
Dungeons of Dredmor and Recettear (as well as the other Carpe Fulgur games, Chantelise and Fortune Summoners) are on sale. :O
Hmm, is Fortune Summoners worth getting?
-
Hmm, is Fortune Summoners worth getting?
I'm picking it up, at least. It seems fun.
-
Fortune Summoners takes a bit of getting used to, but it's definitely worth your time and $5.
-
Burnout Paradise Ultimate for $4 get :toot:
Servers are mad busy though, I had to try like 5 times to get the download started and it's going incredibly slow.
-
Well I'm a fucking idiot. Put Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet in my cart when it was on flash sale, then forgot about it for a few hours, came back and paid for it... after the sale had ended :colonveeplusalpha:

This happened to me earlier, minus the buying post sale part. I got another chance though...
-
This whole Sanctum thing is pretty fun at times, for a Tower Defense/FPS hybrid.
Worth five dollars? Sure.
-
If you have yet to pick up Bastion or Psychonauts, here's your chance. :O
-
Bought Witcher 2 EE for myself last-minute (though due to misunderstandings a friend's gift copy went ignored), and got Gothic Universe collection from Sparda in exchange for Civ V DLC I sent him earlier.
Well, I have a good not-too-taxing single-player game to play on my Otakon-bound train on Thursday then! :V
-
It's over... it's finally over...
...PRESENT SWAG LISTS.
Age of Empires III: Complete Collection
Endless Space
Fortune Summoners: Secret of the Elemental Stone
Frozen Synapse: Red DLC
Galactic Civilizations II: Ultimate Edition
Half-Life 2
Just Cause 2 DLC: Black Market Aerial Pack, Monster Truck, Rico's Signature Gun
Renegade Ops, the Coldstrike Campaign, and the Reinforcement Pack
Sid Meier's Civilization V: Gods and Kings
Terraria
Trine 2
Worms: Reloaded - Game of the Year Edition
-
Bought Burnout, got given Sim City 4, Arma II and Serious Sam BFE
-
I think I bought 15 things between games and DLC. A couple of things that people may have wanted didn't pop up, but there was plenty of other stuff available.
After 3 days of sales in which I didn't buy anything, Jade Empire pops up as the Daily Deal. I've been waiting to pick that game up on sale for the longest time...
-
Nice. Jade Empire was a lot of fun.
Ignore magic, max out a weapon for everything but ghosts and a martial art for them. Transformations are crazy overpowered for the most part.
-
I don't even remember everything I bought.
This is always an issue down the line because I'm like "HEY THIS GAME'S ON SALE I'VE WANTED IT FOR A WHILE" and then I had bought it during last year's sale. That happened something like three times this year. :derp:
-
I got:
Audiosurf
Avadon: The Black Fortress
Bastion
Cave Story +
Chantelese
Dungeon Defenders
Dungeons of Dreadmor
Fallout: New Vegas
Fortune Summoners
Gemini Rue
Greed Corp
LIMBO
Magicka
Plants Vs Zombies
Q.U.B.E.
Recettear
Risen
Star Wars: KotOR
The Tiny Bang Story
Vessel
World of Goo
Ys Origin
Ys Oath in Felghana
Zombie Driver
Some of those games I got, I got because they came is bundles with games I actually wanted. Also I bought Magicka and the Recettear Bundle before they on supersell. I was slightly miffed.
-
I got very little this year.
For myself. I bought about twelve things or so, and kept one. I'm so bad at this. :ohdear:
-
Nice. Jade Empire was a lot of fun.

Okie. Problem is, it's going to take me months to get around to it. It might get moved up because it's a Bioware game and it's a touch older.I don't even remember everything I bought.

Thanks goodness they remind you what you've bought. I recommend filtering out games you've played - especially if you've played them to death or can't stand 'em - so you can actually find the ones you bought.
-
Is it bad that I buy stuff I can't even play on any of the computers I have at home?
Loot listing:
Portal 2
Alice: Madness Returns
Frozen Synapse (anyone want the other copy?)
Audiosurf
Bastion
The Binding of Issac
The Longest Journey + Dreamfall
Fortune Summoners
Recettear
The Polynomial
Puzzle Kingdoms
Splice
...yeah.
-
hahahahahaha YES
I didn't buy anything!
I BEAT A STEAM SALE
-
Let's see here:
- Civ V Polynesia + Babylon DLC (gifted to Sparda as we often play MP)
- Killing Floor + DLC bundle
- Witcher 2 EE
- Gothic Universe (1, 2 Gold Edition, and 3) (gift from Sparda and his personal recommendation)
- Skyrim (last-minute impulse purchase)
Not that many, and if I wasn't already reserving much of my spare cash for Otakon stuff I'd have bought more. But oh well, already enjoying myself with what I've got. Plus King of the Fort GET >:D
-
A friend of mine bought me Saints Row 3.
I'm a fat chrome-green crossdressing Incredible Hulk wearing a top hat riding a weaponized Smartcar blaring classical music so the rest of the city can just EAT IT.
Also got Analogue: A Hate Story (which I heartily recommend even for people who aren't normally into visual novels) and Lone Survivor.
-

Like. A. Boss.
Speaking of which, apparently I have Saints Row 2, and never installed it to play :wat:

The KoL sidebar made a note of a new Humble Bundle, but it's not so much video games as it is music. Still, maybe some people would be interested. http://www.humblebundle.com/
-
Hoho! It's been awhile since I've heard anything from They Might Be Giants! I've been exposed to the Severe Tire Damage album of there's for the majority of my short existence. It's nice to see they're still around and apparently popular enough to get into a Humble Bundle.
That alone might be reason to consider this, although it's generally rare to see myself buying whole albums of music.

Nope.
okay im sorry for the double post but STEAM MAKE SIMS 3 AND EXPANSION PACKS 75% OFF FUCKING DAMMIT
[matsuri]There's a modify button at the top of every one of your posts. Please use that instead of double posting. Also, this thread isn't for complaining about what Steam is and isn't having a sale on. :matsuriscowl:[/matsuri]
-
QUAKECON! Things from id and Bethesda will be on sale on Steam this week.
Today: Skyrim 50% off, Morrowind and Oblivion 66% off each.
Also a Dawnguard is out (for everyone). (But not on sale.)
-
Humble Android Bundle 3 is up
It's not very interesting though
-
If you already own Portal 2 on Steam, you've got a (limited-time) voucher to buy another copy for $5 USD in your inventory, because the Perpetual Testing Initiative DLC got an update that now allows co-op. If you have someone who doesn't have the game and you can pull them for multiplayer, it might just be worth it.
-
Four games have been added to the Humble Bundle for Android #3, bringing the total up to nine.
-
I have the original HAB, though, so it's not much of a boon to one such as me
Most of these games aren't that interesting anyway...
-
Cave has released their Android versions of EspGaluda 2 and DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu (Resurrection) internationally, and also put them on launch sale (http://www.cave-world.com/en/sp/android-worldwide-release-sale/).
Should've mentioned this sooner as it ends tomorrow. :derp:
EDIT: The offer is extended to the 28th, and excludes the Japanese and Korean markets (they got these ages ago) as well as Samsung's app store.
But hey, at least you Android device owners finally have good STGs without silly regional workarounds! :P
-
Huh, nice.
-
New Indie Royale Bundle up. (http://www.indieroyale.com/) Check it out, see if you find anything interesting.
Edit: And also a new Humble Indie Bundle! (http://www.humblebundle.com/)
-
Edit: And also a new Humble Indie Bundle! (http://www.humblebundle.com/)
It has Dustforce and its soundtrack.

Oh sweet a bundle where I actually don't already have any of the games :3
-
GODDAMMIT WHY AM I SO POOR
-
Sweet. I've heard good things about Torchlight. May as well pick it up later.
-
SPAZ looks fun. I might buy this just for that
Alebit with the full knowledge my computer won't be able to run it
-
Bundle with two things on my Steam Wishlist in it??
HOW DO HUMBLE BUNDLES KEEP BEING SO GOOD
-
Four games added to the Humble Bundle: BIT.TRIP RUNNER, Gratuitous Space Battles, Jamestown, and Wizorb. Still about a week left if you haven't bought one yet.
-
2 Space Battle Games, 2 Block Breakers, a Puzzle Platformer, 3 Action Platformers, and a shmup.
Sounds like my kind of deal
AW YEAH LAST MINUTE BUY
-
New Humble Bundle-- but this time, it's eBooks instead of games or music. (https://www.humblebundle.com/)

eBook.
Bundle.
:psyduck:
Well I'll confess it's a new frontier for the Humble Bundle team and while it's not what I was expecting I wish them luck!
-
I like reading. Anyone read any of these books? Are they pretty good?
-
I like reading. Anyone read any of these books? Are they pretty good?
None of these specific ones, but Gaiman is generally good, and Lackey is generally boring as fuck oh god why did they put a Mercedes Lackey book in here ughhhhhhhhhh.
-
I was actually excited for the books until I read the excerpts.
:V
-
I can't read long texts on a screen to save my life, but this is an interesting take.
-
I didn't see the Be Mine Bundle from Groupees mentioned (or I'm just really inattentive):

X-Blades
King's Bounty: The Legend

Kung Fu Strike!
From $5 to $7.99, you get the following extra games:

Septerra Core
Earth 2150 Trilogy

Speaking of other unlisted bundles, apparently this is a thing (http://www.thegreenlightbundle.com/).
I have no idea about any of the titles though, but probably worth checking out

>Great bundles of games on
>Earnes ?10
>Spends it on phone credit
>Dammit I'm a waste of a man
I actually need to buy more games now, 2hu is starting to get boooooring and I can't find any more good games. Hopefully there will be a cheap bundle on my birthdat so I can buy games~
Also about the bundle prices, are they cheaper in pounds than dollars for something?

Currently Out of Keys. $2 Promo Code While You Wait.
Hello, unfortunately our Deal of the Week is currently out of keys. We are working hard to get this resolved as soon as possible and apologize for the inconvenience. In the meantime, feel free to use the code SQRLUVIO to take $2.00 off any Digital Video Games purchase.
There's hope yet! Just hang on tight.
EDIT: Apparently the keys were exploited by using fake credit card information and fake accounts, so Amazon put a lid on them? I'm not sure, but hope it won't become a worst case scenario.
-
Amazon's bundle is dead, but never fear!
There's The Fall Bundle (http://www.indieroyale.com/).
Right now, ?3,70 or so gets you the following Steam games:
To the Moon
Oilrush
Blackwell Deception
AVSEQ
Oh, also Reprisal but that's not on Steam, who'd want a game that isn't on Steam. :<
-
Huh. I've heard good stuff about To The Moon, at least...
Eh, I don't have time to keep buying games I don't have time to play. :[
-
SQRLUVOC can now be used on Amazon for a 25% discount on any digital game download. Joke's on me that I don't have a credit card to pay with, but the Square Bundle is officially off the hook. Sorry folks. :(
-
The ebook bundle now has comic books :V Not just any comic books, but xkcd, SMBC, and Penny Arcade comic books, so webcomic comic books :V
-
Indiegala 10 has kicked off (http://www.indiegala.com/)! It's another "pay what you want" deal and there's 10 games in it, so pretty sweet even if you're a scrooge and won't pay more than $1.
-
Related to IndieGala: I got the big pack, but I'm not that interested in Europa Universalis: Rome and Elven Legacy. If there's anyone here I could make happy with either of them, drop me a line, else I'll probably toss them into SteamGifts to disappear into a faceless crowd.
EDIT: Also miiiight have Majesty 2 and East Indian Company, but I don't know if the keys are new. I obviously can't test them. If you're interested also let me know. If one of those two keys works the other does as well so it helps me out, too. '3'

http://www.indieroyale.com/
The first game in this spooky bundle is the full 5-episode season of Telltale Games' graphically rich, imaginative adventure Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse (Windows and Mac on Steam). 1UP calls Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse a "better-looking, and -- most importantly -- better-playing adventure game." And according to IGN, the "storytelling is well executed and the twists and turns are fun to experience. If you're looking for an adventure game that packs a lot of humor, interesting puzzles and psychic powers together in a Twilight-zone/science-fiction skin, you should give 'Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse' a try."
Also featured is chilling psychological side-scrolling horror adventure game from Benjamin Rivers, Home, (Windows on Steam, Desura and DRM-free); a cult first-person adventure/action game that will chill you to the bone, Pathologic from Russian developer Ice-Pick Lodge, (Windows on Desura and DRM-free); a comedy-puzzle-adventure about a werewolf, MacGuffin's Curse from Brawsome (Windows and Mac on Steam, Desura and DRM-free); and a retro action RPG where you get to play the villain from Chaosoft Games, EvilQuest, (Windows on Desura and DRM-free). The top purchaser for this bundle will also get the sold out physical Old-School Collector's Edition for Home which includes a map, game manual and game-universe artifacts.
Thoughts?
-
I'd get it for S&M alone - it's a huge bargain at that price! :V

Humble Bundle 4 for Android is out (http://www.humblebundle.com/)
-
GameFly is offering the PC version of BioShock for free (http://www.gamefly.com/Download-BioShock/150930/?adtrackingid=cmju029). Requires their client though.
Alas from what I hear it's also region-locked - so the offer may not be valid in all areas (most likely just North America, maybe west-central Europe).
-
Also, I'm an idiot, I thought the previous bundle was only for Android when at the last minute (not joking) I realised that the games were for pc as well so I missed out on a bundle orz
e: link removed cuz Suikamaaa posted the link already double orz
-
Awesomenauts is free on Steam this weekend, and is half-off, if you're curious as to how good it is.
I think it's great, as long as you play during peak hours to ensure a good variety of people to matchmake against.

If you're into SPACE GAMES (you should be) or uh, Magicka/Crusader Kings 2, there's this pack for $9.99! It's Amazon though. My heart aches.
-
My lappy sucks at high-end games so I couldn't get intrusion. I got beat hazard and others instead.
-
Aaaaaa mark of the ninja is on sale but all my money is going into a fund to get a good laptop what do I do ;~;
-
Just leaving this here (http://www.amazon.com/XCOM-Enemy-Special-Pc/dp/B006WQR3OM/ref=sr_1_2_title_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1353963536&sr=1-2); XCOM Enemy Unknown at 50% off!
Not sure if it's a Steam key but hey.
-
Another Humble Bundle - this time with lots of THQ games! (http://www.humblebundle.com/) All of them require Windows and Steam.
This may be a win for gamers, but some are critical of this move (http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2012/11/humble-thq-bundle-threatens-to-ruin-the-brands-reputation/) due to the massive reversal of ethos from previous Bundles.
-
Mind that the bundle DOES NOT work for people in Germany.
-
Yeah... none of these are indie games, are they?
I'm torn. On one hand, charities are good and I've bought almost every bundle so far. On the other, military-type games bore the hell out of me and they'd just take up a ton of space...
-
Am I the only one who finds it A Really Good Thing that a major publisher is wanting in on this?
Sure, they're obviously not going to jump in the DRM-free yay wagon straightaway, they are a traditional publisher still, but this is to me a very heavy sign of improvement in perspective.
While Ubisoft is trying to force me to install uPlay through Steam to play an old title which I bought through Steam, THQ seems to be opening up. And the Humble Bundle is a nice way to go about it really, fuck the haters. It's not like this crushes any possibility of indie games thriving, much on the contrary, this is a victory for the indie insdustry lol
That said, not sure am gonna get, will think
-
Regardless of whether or not this is a "real" humble bundle, it remains a fantastic bargain.
-
Yeah... none of these are indie games, are they?
I'm torn. On one hand, charities are good and I've bought almost every bundle so far. On the other, military-type games bore the hell out of me and they'd just take up a ton of space...
If you don't want the games, then don't buy the bundle! I'm sure plenty of people will. :P
-
I kind of notice that this isn't actually called an "indie" bundle, it's a "THQ" bundle.
Anyways, nothing from THQ really looks all that appealing to me regardless (also my computer wouldn't be able to run it ever anyway) so I'm really not all that bothered by it.
It's AAA titles sold for pretty much free if you want it (the 1 dollar minimum was already a thing for the last bunch of bundles to get Steam codes, and since this requires Steam codes, the reasoning behind the price is a given), and with a large chunk of cash going to charity. Looks more like THQ trying to milk what they can out of their games to move on to better things, but I doubt they're going to pull much money out of it.
As Edible said, it's 200 dollars worth of games for essentially whatever price you want. Fantastic bargain.
-
I'm most likely going to get the bundle myself. It's a fantastic offer regardless, despite the giant grey area of business and indie ethics this presents.
A lot better than EA's Indie Bundles on Steam from a while back. :V
EDIT: And bought.
EDIT2: John Graham, a Humble Indie Bundle co-founder, responds to Ars Technica in defence of this bundle:
In a response to Ars, Humble Bundle co-founder John Graham assured users the company will "never stop creating Humble Indie Bundles... and the other bundle types we've successfully launched this year. But we’re also eager to see if our pay-what-you-want plus charity model meshes with critically acclaimed AAA content as well."
Graham said the new THQ bundle did not represent a permanent departure from the company's indie roots, and that the company may even release a third indie bundle this year. "This year has also been a year of many experiments for us that fall outside the traditional Humble Indie Bundle framework," Graham told us. "We’re very excited to be able to offer the gaming community a massive sale with blockbuster content and raise money for charity at the same time. We will of course continue to support indies content as a core of our business."
Regarding the lack of Mac and Linux ports this time around, Graham said plainly that, "in the case of this promotion, it would not have been possible for us to deliver this blockbuster content via other means." But Graham also promised the Humble Bundle "will not cease in our quest to bring awesome content to Mac and Linux and Android," and pointed out that the Humble eBook Bundle contained the first digital publication of Neil Gaiman's graphic novel Signal to Noise.

Man, kinda wishing I had $5.50 now. A friend's been pestering me to try SR3.

I'm here to tell you that Duke Nukem 3D is available for FREE at gog.com until this Friday and chew bubblegum.

Serious Sam bundle, $10, works on Steam (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00AMKP1FC/ref%3Dnosim/water70e-20)
-
So how about your wallets?
Here's Total War 2 - Fall of the Samurai (http://www.amazon.com/Total-War-Samurai-Collection-Download/dp/B00AJNWHF4/ref=br_lf_m_1000716161_14_376_ttl?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&pf_rd_p=1444879322&pf_rd_s=center-6&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_i=1000716161&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1Y7EMANJE03R3084AA56), non-Steam, but it's a pretty big discount.
There's also 2K games megapack (http://www.amazon.com/2K-Games-40897K-Mega-Pack1/dp/B006OF19NM/ref=br_lf_m_1000716161_9_240_ttl?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&pf_rd_p=1444879322&pf_rd_s=center-6&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_i=1000716161&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0E1SPWDWP3020V5ZXZSF), featuring Civ5 GOTY, Borderlands, Bioshock and Mafia 2 for a steal, too.
Also Civ5 + Gods and Kings (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AMKTR48).
There's a lot of other deals too but I personally think these are pretty nice. Not that un-American pigdogs like me can take advantage of them lol.
-
Homefront, Metro 2033, Red Faction Armageddon, Red Faction Guerrilla, STALKER SoC, Warhammer 40k Space Marine, all for 7.50 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00A3F5S0O/ref%3Dnosim/water70e-20)
-
Another THQ pack so soon? :teaspit:
Well, if this is what it takes for them to stay afloat, I suppose....
STALKER and maybe Space Marine look pretty tantalizing.
-
Space Marine is okay, Shadows of Cherynobyl is very good (and turns GREAT when you use the SOC Complete Mod), SoC + Metro 2033 = delicious post-apocalyptic creepy goodness.
-
Having gotten and played Metro during the Humble THQ Bundle, I've gotten a renewed interest in the STALKER games. Plus the original novel STALKER is based off was a very enjoyable read.
...yep, I think I'm sold on this now. :V
-
Metro looks like shite, but the STALKER series is the best thing since sliced bread
-
Hey, Metro wasn't THAT bad. :(
It had atmosphere at least. Coding could have used a month more of debugging, though...
-
Indeed, Metro has a few rough edges. But for what it's worth it's still fairly good - especially with ultra/max graphics settings, the Ranger difficulties, and Russian audio. :V
That aside, bought this bundle and the Serious Sam one too; would be playing SOC now, but I guess I'll get to it after this current trip.

NEED BIGGER DISCOUNT ON CHIVALRY: MEDIEVAL WARFARE.
Also, dear Gaben: Please get servers that do not immediately clog with traffic the moment a sale starts. Thank you.
-
Also, dear Gaben: Please get servers that do not immediately clog with traffic the moment a sale starts. Thank you.
It'd be a waste of money, given that they'd only be useful... what, four times a year?
Anyway, I was thiiiiis close to buying PoP Complete, and then I remembered that I had to download a crack for my entirely-legitimate copy of Assassin's Creed 3.
-
Chivalry will go way lower on the next few days, worry not
Also, it's rather impossible to get servers that handle user peaks like this smoothly, mot of the time they'd go to wa- fuck you lumbers.
E: Also DL a game at 1mbps right now, p smooth
-
haku
accept my flist invite plz

I need to know what to buy.
I only possess 21,61 euros, so I'm pretty cramped.
There's just one thing that caught my eye: Borderlands 2. From what I've heard it's extremely good, but just too expensive.
I may pool for a 4-pack if there's an audience for it but I'll listen to the recommendations first.
-
NEED BIGGER DISCOUNT ON CHIVALRY: MEDIEVAL WARFARE.
Happened this same way Fall Sale, so sit tight for it. Also, go for a 4-pack if you can. There's a Group Buys group that's all about buying in bulk, it's a lot cheaper.
Nothing that catches my fancy though. Everything on my wishlist is but I'm too cheap to buy them lol. I did get Cherry Tree High for a random SteamGifts user.
-

I might be willing to go for that. 20 bucks is still a bit much for my income-less self though. D:
-
Still waiting on dat Dark Souls discount
33& ain't enough

Would get Borderlands 2 now but I need to save money for cons. :V But I might buy other things.

Scribblenauts Unlimited for $26.99 on steam. :derp:
-
So many things I want to buy... so little (more like none) money. Managed to swipe VVVVVV though; if only because I happened to have ?2 still on Steam at the time it went up...
And it was so much fun to play; so worth it! XD
In contrast to that, DragonAge 1, Ultimate Edition... ?4.99 for the next 12 hours.
ARGH! My payslip doesn't reach me till Thursday! This is rage inducing! ><
-
Get someone to pick it up for you? :V
-
I may have read that the wrong way, term-wise. I get paid money up-front; hence the wait for that date.
Unless you meant someone else buys it; in which case, shush. Just because it's Christmas, doesn't mean people can suddenly by everyone stuff...
Plus, even if it did happen, I'd be paying that person back the second I'd be able to... Gift-for-gift, I guess. :V
That last bit was on-topic, I guess. Also, none of my community votes have got the spotlight yet. Am I doing it right? :derp:
-
>Unintentionally vague
I meant to pick up the game for you so you can pay them back when you have moolah.
-
Held out until now thanks to vacation, but nope, had to feed the Gaben. :V
Got STALKER CoP, the Chickenator DLC, some TF2 items, and gifted a Dungeon Defenders copy to another user here. ~US$25 well spent (not including the $30 or so spent on THQ stuff and Serious Sam pack).
There goes more con-going money. :V
-
The Stalker series is mad off. And you're mental if you don't get all three. No, really.
Also Chivalry. Get Chivalry. Because AGATHAAAAAAAAAA.
Also no Dark Souls yet, Gaben what are you doing
-
Clear Sky...hot damn it's cheap, I have it (and thus the entire series) now :3
No cash for Chivalry ATM, so I'll have to hold on that as well as other games.
-
So who down for a Chivalry 4-pack, and what region has the cheapest deal? :)
-
It's around 10USD down here, but I already got the game
-
Went ahead and got it, and Walking Dead too.
-
Dark Souls on motherfucking sale :D
-
I discovered Steam has another badge to earn. You need to do 4 out of 6 "achievements" to earn the badge. I had three done already before I even noticed it.
Here's the fun thing;
One of the 6 "missions" is to buy a gift on Steam. Note: It's just buy the gift. Afterward, you can simply gift yourself whatever you just bought.
-
http://www.amazon.com/Dark-Souls-Prepare-Edition-Online/dp/B00917DBUE
Hgrggnnngh... Halp. Halp. I already watched XCom drift by and now this.
-
Hmmm humble bundle 7 has 3 additional new games. That is Cave Story+, The basement collection and offspring fling. Most happy with cave story, since it had a graphical makeover as well as new sound track. Also if you've already bought the bundle before they had those games then you automatically get the games as listed for free.
Steam had some nice deals today! Purchased CS bundle for about ?5.60 with CS source and CS:GO included and some other ones I can't remember. Also bought left 4 dead bundle too for about the same price as CS bundle.
-
I've been waiting since the start of the sale for DMC4 to drop in price. I budgeted for it to hit $5, like it has in the past. What happens? DMC4 gets a flash sale... that only applies to the 3+4 bundle. 4 is still only 66% off.
10/10 I am actually mad.
And yes, I'm aware of the GMG sale, but all my currently-available funds are steam wallet.
-
My friend recently bought the Humble Bundle for me, but I already have The Binding of Isaac as well as its DLC.
So I have an extra Steam key for BoI+WotL if anyone is interested.
-
Last day of Steam sale, encore day repeating a lot of the previous deals, it's a great selection. Also yesterday's deals still going for some hours
-
This isn't a sale, but it is a bundle. A completely free one. http://www.thefreebundle.com/
-
Woo, there's Notronic Rush there
Also, the thread title hasn't been updated in a good while
-
better?
-
Holy shit I've been playing Nitronic Rush for five minutes and I think it's incredible :o
-
Hahaha, Abobo's Big Adventure is a hilarious one. :V
Might splurge for the rest.
-
...but aren't these all just flash games you can play for free on the internet anyway? I know for a fact you can just play Abobo on Newgrounds.
It's not so much an indie bundle as it is a select picks of freeware [indie] games compiled on a different website for download... which can lose the author revenue if he was hosting it elsewhere that pays for pageviews (like Kongregate), not that I'm sure the bundle-maker didn't already get permission to do this from the authors, but it makes a point. It could be more beneficial to the author to just play the game on the internet.
But I digress.
-
It's not so much an indie bundle as it is a select picks of freeware [indie] games compiled
That is the very definition of a bundle.
If you read the website you'll see that all that was addressed.
They're all playable offline, flash-based or not(Nitronic Rush is most definitely not a flash game rofl), and yes they're all downloadable from their respective developers' websites.
-
Not to mention it's totally free and the bundle raises awareness for the developers and stuff. Why not grab them?
/me shrugs.
-
http://www.thefreebundle.com/
There's another bundle of free games goin' on check it out
-
Skyrim, Half off, today only on Steam.
Hearthfire and Dawnguard are also half off today.
-
Downloaded Mad Father as soon as I saw it. Reminded me of Ib, which is another good RPGmaker indie game you guys should play.
-
Amazon has a Mark of the Ninja Steam key for 75% off through the 31st.
-
That free bundle brought down the site of the guy who translated Mad Father (as well as Ib and Misao, two other horror RPGmaker games)
-
Amazon has a Mark of the Ninja Steam key for 75% off through the 31st.
Actually they have a whole pack of stuff (http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-5-Game-Arcade-Pack-Download/dp/B00B1ULJI0) that happens to include it, though the individual titles are also on substantial sale (Mark of the Ninja was the only one I was interested in so I just bought it alone). Man I'd've dropped the link here when I found out about it a few days ago if I'd thought of it. =X
Note: the bundle totally just gives you Steam keys. As the friend I heard about it from said: "I just bought a set of games on Amazon from Microsoft that are just a bunch of Steam keys. And even going through three companies it is easier than installing Dragon Age 2 was last night (stupid EA)." :V
-
I knew about the bundle, but I didn't bother mentioning it because the games in the bundle could be broken down into 'game I already own and highly recommend, two games I don't care about, and two games that look kind of interesting but are also saddled with the festering cancer that is GfWL".
Also! In addition to the mentioned deals on the Steam frontpage, AI War: Fleet Command (http://store.steampowered.com/app/40400/) and its expansions (save the most recent) are all 75% off on Steam for the next week! Must-get if you're an RTS fan, IMO.
-
Steam Linux sale (http://store.steampowered.com/sale/linux_release/) - 50-80% off assorted multi-platform titles until the 21st!
Of course, Windows and Mac users also benefit from this too.
-
We now have Free Bundle #3 (http://www.thefreebundle.com/): Bungling for a Bundling, featuring four indie games you've never heard of, and also Lyle in Cube Sector.
In other news, they are also advertising a 6th game. It is not free.
-
Well, for me, that's four games I've never heard of, and also Sauerbraten.
That reminds me that I might be the only freak here on MotK with some interest in obscure deathmatch FPS games :V
-
Oh hey, someone else who knows what Sauerbraten is. We are so few and far between :V
Bundle looks interesting.
-
I know about Sauerbraten!
Uberleben looks amusing.
-
This should really get a mention
For a while now, the Humble Bundle Mojam 2 has been going on. (http://www.humblebundle.com)
The themes are absolutely incredible. (http://support.humblebundle.com/customer/portal/articles/1006152-humble-bundle-mojam-2-themes)
Everyone should get this, because there's no way in hell Endless Nuclear Kittens and Nuclear Pizza War aren't going to be amazing.
-
Everyone should get this, because there's no way in hell Endless Nuclear Kittens and Nuclear Pizza War aren't going to be amazing.
Utsuho arises from the underground with her army of pizza-eating hellcat minions!
Thread title updated, in any event.
-
>been going on for a while now
Man I totally didn't get an email for this one and I had no idea D:
-
>Time left: 15 seconds
welp
EDIT: Oh you can still buy their stuff for the next ongoing week

A build of Endless Nuclear Kittens:

Pretty worth it imo, although they all seem to be simple little flash/java games so far.

Indie Royale's got a new one out now. It has Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, Guns of Icarus Online, Kung Fu Strike: The Warrior's Rise, Krunch, and Delve Deeper.

Don't know where to post this one, as the main Minecraft thread's locked and this one seems to mention Mojam, but Notch has posted (http://mojang.com/2013/02/500000-notch-beard/) that he's gonna shave his iconic beard if Mojam raises $500,000.
Well... he did (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCriB5RxhMI). He looks kinda weird now, but also kinda cool I guess? :V

Mark of the Ninja is 66% off this weekend on Steam. It is an excellent game and I highly recommend it.
Natural Selection 2 is 50% off on Steam as well, but I cannot attest to the quality of that game.
-
New Humble Bundle came out today! http://www.humblebundle.com/
-
Anyone know any of these? Opinions?
-
Super Hexagon was a game-of-the-month choice for our elitist supaplayers. It's too good (and balls hard). Unfortunate you have to pay more than its retail price to get it.
NightSky apparently won a bunch of awards for things.
Solar 2 at least looks really interesting.
-
They look okay, I guess. I think I'll pass on this one, though-- unless something really good shows up.
-
Bastion for $1. In case you, you know, need a reason to get it. (https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly)
-
It's technically not a sale, but Atelier Totori Plus (PS Vita) is available (in the US and Australia, AFAIK) with full DLC, until April 16 on PSN. I understand it may be going off of Ayesha's release, but there was literally no advertising for it. EDIT: Probably also to "celebrate" Meruru Plus coming out in JP on the 20th.
EDIT2: Steam's having their Indie Spring Sale! Finalists from IGF and games from PAX East are now on sale.
-
New Humble Bundle (http://www.humblebundle.com/) for Android is out. We've got Plants vs. Zombies, Bladeslinger, Anomaly Korea, and Contre Jour, with Metal Slug 3 and The Room as bonuses.
-
Just Cause 2 is US$3 on Steam right now, less than US$2 if you're BRhue
-
Digital Copy of Borderlands 2 and Season Pass for $25 at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BW7ZYGK). Dead
-
GOG has sales pretty much every weekend but I will toss out the current one (https://secure.gog.com/promo/hasbro_stacking_weekend_promo_050413) 'cause it's a bunch of D&D games that I've always heard are sweet (and, admittedly, a couple I've never heard of) with a scaling discount - the more you buy the more you save, and any games in the sale you already own through GOG count too.
-
I like how every now and then they'll give a decent coupon that works on most other games, and not just the sometimes "meh" ones they're advertising.
-
A new Indie Royale Bundle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=erRBa3jSbwc) is out, and it caters to the fans of shooting stuff and blocking it up: [Monday Night Combat, a Gradius-alike called Satazuis, an overhead shooter known as The Real Texas, and a rather interesting title called Gentrieve 2 (which is a Metroid-like FPS with randomly generated worlds). Kyntt Underground is also on there, which I've been wanting to play for a while :3c
-
Oh yeah this thread still exists
Indie Royale's got something going on where there are like 7 games this time around, check it out
http://www.indieroyale.com/
-
So, since I'm the only one who remembers that this thread exists, apparently -
http://www.humblebundle.com/
-
Ehhh, that new humble bundle looks pretty iffy. It's Double Fine, yeah, but it's got a different model and everything, makes me bleggh.
-
Humble Bundle 8 is now available! (http://www.humblebundle.com/)
Awesomenauts
Capsized
Dear Esther
Thomas Was Alone
BtA: Hotline Miami
BtA: Proteus
...also, the thread title hasn't been updated in a while.
-
oh shit i dont think i have any of those
instabought
-
Gah, I have too many goddamn games to go and buy more, but... eh, I'll think about it.
-
So far I've played into Hotline Miami, Little Inferno and Thomas was Alone. All three are pretty good, but the latter two stood out to me especially and are worth the bundle already.
Little Inferno is a "game" about putting all kinds of things into a fireplace, burning them, and thus getting money to order more things to burn. It might not sound like much, but it's actually quite the experience.
Thomas was Alone is a neat platformer with an excellent narration that gives character to *rectangles*. It's probably the only game that you will find where you will refer to rectangles by name and care for them due to their personality. (The whole narration is done wonderfully by Danny Wallace, whom some of you may know as the voice of Shaun Hastings in the Assassin's Creed series)
So if you were pondering about this Bundle, maybe this can help you shape your opinion :)
-
Don't have any of those games, but is Capsized any good? Is it a metroidvania or a linear platformer? Could possibly make or break a winner.
-
Oh shit The Walking Dead on sale *-*
-
I just want this thread to know that I
hatelovehatelovehatelove have mixed feelings for it but OH MY GOD MY STEAM LIBRARY HAS GAMES IN IT NOW!
I was just about to post the weekly sale (https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly) was Telltale Games too, I apparently have poker?
-

ARE YOU READY FOR A MIRACLE
-
Right now it would be a miracle if the store would even load! :v
-
I might grab Knights of the Old Republic. It's one of those games it feels like everyone's played and I missed the boat on, like with Mass Effect. We have a new WiiU and games coming in the mail though...
-
So I talked myself out of buying Ys I+II until I get paid next.
...
Then turned around and bought Scribblenauts Unlimited. I'm bad at saving money.
-

Kinda glad today is weekly errand day because I don't think it'll load before I get home.

1. Don't level up until your training is done.
2. Spare the evil on Dantooine.
3. Kashyyy(yyyyyyy)k should be the first place you choose to go to.
It's a great game. If you've any interest in western RPGs and/or Star Wars and are OK with D&D mechanics, it's well worth the time.

Regarding 1, I'd say you can get to level 3 or 4, but don't go above that until you complete the training on Dantooine.
Or do, KotOR is a pretty easy game, and while this will make you more powerful, it's not a gamebreaking thing.
-
Bought Rush Bros and CS:GO. Since I don't expect Bioshock Infinite to get past 66% I probably won't be buying anything more... I hope :V

Level up just enough to beat the arena on the first world, but no higher!

Finally getting my hands on Chantelise thanks to Steam's sale. Been wanting to play it for quite a while, so I'm pretty happy about it. Of course I still have other games to play, but there's a different topic here for that stuff.
-
I just saw that Dark Souls is on sale for $7.50 right now, for the next seven hours or so. I'd grab it, but I doubt my laptop can handle it. Meh.
-
Sure, the games I want are on sale, but what if they become even MORE on sale??
Must..perch on flash sales...
-
Been waiting forever for GRID and Hotline Miami to be 75% off, finally got them today. Another nice game I recommend is "pid".
Other games I have been waiting for a long time are Fairy Bloom Freesia, ClaDun X2, the eXceed pack and Anodyne. I hope they finally get on 75% sale this time.
And the "new" games, GRID 2, Ys I & II Chronicles and Dungeons & Dragons Chronicles of Mystara. Ys is already on sale despite having been released yesterday, but 40% is not good enough; I still have more games than I have time to play.
-
Sure, the games I want are on sale, but what if they become even MORE on sale??
Must..perch on flash sales...
I'm doing the same. I've decided I'll buy KotOR, but it's only 33% off right now. They might do a day-long Lucas Arts sale or something down the road...
Also, why wouldn't I want to level? ;-;
-
I just discovered Steam is accepting PayPal transactions from my account now
this is exciting and exceptionally dangerous
I've picked up Toki Tori 2+, Starseed Pilgrim, Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe, and Super House Of Dead Ninjas so far. Y'know, smaller games~
EDIT: And Civ V: Brave New World. Yes, it's part of the Flash Sale.
-
EDIT: And Civ V: Brave New World. Yes, it's part of the Flash Sale.
Not to mention BNW's international release date was today. Naturally, there's quite a rage thread for that (http://steamcommunity.com/app/8930/discussions/0/864973123399615440/), mostly among those who pre-ordered with 10% discount. I'm a bit irked at this sale decision myself, but I don't think many of us expected a sale on this expansion so quickly.
At least they didn't stick it with Gold Edition (though the deal would be sweet), or there'd be quite a lot more trouble.
-
So I talked myself out of buying Ys I+II until I get paid next.
I bet it'll get a better discount later. :V (that's why I haven't bought it yet)
I got NiGHTS and Bioshock Infinite for now.
-
I'm doing the same. I've decided I'll buy KotOR, but it's only 33% off right now. They might do a day-long Lucas Arts sale or something down the road...
Also, why wouldn't I want to level? ;-;
Silliness aside, I can provide some general advice that will technically spoil things, so thou art warned. First, as for leveling, you start out without jedi abilities. You can level up any time after you gain enough experience, so power players will avoid leveling up at the start. After you get jedi powers, they'll level up several times all at once, granting extra jedi powers in the process. You only level up so many times because of the relatively low level cap, so the difference can be significant.
As for the rest, nearly all that we can spoil on is common sense stuff. You really want someone wielding a lightsaber to have blaster-related feats? No and more no.
I got NiGHTS and Bioshock Infinite for now.
I'd totally pick it up if I didn't have a backlog extending through LAST YEAR'S SUMMER SALE.
-
my fukken wallet :smokedcheese:

I'm doing the same. I've decided I'll buy KotOR, but it's only 33% off right now. They might do a day-long Lucas Arts sale or something down the road...
Also, why wouldn't I want to level? ;-;
Because KotOR is based off D&D 3E and after the training you switch to a vastly superior class, so save your level ups for that. Think of it as a prestige class, except you just unlock it at a certain point rather than with skill and feat prereqs.
Also despite there being lightsabers and all blasters are in fact viable (though more so in the second one). Feel free to make gunslinger June :V
-
Jana, for what it's worth - the above advice is useful but not strictly necessary. The game's easy enough once you've dumped a few levels into Jedi regardless, even if you've wasted some feats on, say, blasters previously.
-
Pretty much as Ed says. You'll find new teammates on Kashyyyk and Tatooine and outside of that, play it the way you want. The game has a great story in general, especially for anyone that's interested in Star Wars.
The reason we can dissect the game so much is because we've spent so much time with it. It speaks to how good the game is and how enjoyable it is to play.

Hell yes, spreading the FTL

Grabbed FTL and They Bleed Pixels on the cheap. I'm only really in this in hopes that FFVII gets a sale, but I can't say no to a game that's less than $3 (and I can easily sell the cards the game gives you for extra change too).
Further PSA: If you do not own Just Cause 2, WHY NOT
My laptop can't handle it. My brother owns it for 360 though, so if I really want to play it that bad, I can play it that way.

I've owned it since the last time it went on sale. It's cool, but didn't grip me to it.

Then it can probably play just cause 2! <_<

I want to get Sonic Adventure 2 but......... it's just a penny away from being five dollars................
-
Also, this has made me feel so incredibly cheap. I refuse to buy anything unless it's like, less than five dollars.
Steam in general has made me this way, and that is 'if I really want it bad enough, I can wait for it to cost less'.
If anything, I've become more reasonable with money as I get older...

I don't know, I've owned it since it came out, too.
Also: Super House of Dead Ninjas is <3$ and is super freaking fast and fun. It's like if Super Meat Boy and Roguelikes had a kid that could decapitate people.

Brb getting Sleeping Dogs dirt cheap.

Somehow got gift copies of Civ IV overnight, any takers? Also have Poker Night 1 available.
EDIT: Claimed by Dormio

Vanilla only or does it include Warlords and Beyond the Sword? I had Civ IV at one point on a different site, but I somehow lost access to it. It'd be great to be able to play it again. ^^;
-
No expansions included, sadly. It does include the Mac port though. :V

Never mind, then. ^^;

People who preordered BNW got a gift copy of Civ IV, as an apology for how people who didn't preorder just got the game for 33% off during the flash deal.
-
I've owned it since the last time it went on sale. It's cool, but didn't grip me to it.
You were given a grappling hook that could latch onto anything and it didn't grip you?
It's fun. Sometimes the enemy spam is a bit much, but that's when you lure one guy close enough to a fighter jet, hook him to it, and fly that baby directly into the statue of his 'great leader' at supersonic speeds. Catharsis beyond measure.
-
I only got Ys during this sale so far. Nothing else that really interests me enough. BNW, but I want it for $10 or less. :V
-
Just saying, Blood Bowl's on thew Flash Sale for ?4.99. I highly recommend it because it's hilarious.
[And if enough of you guys play it we can make a MotK league]

Eh, nothing particularly outstanding to me today. Holding out for better.

Holy shit I just got System Shock 2 minutes before the sale ended

Fallout sale! I already have 1, 2, and Tactics, but I just grabbed Fallout 3 GOTY edition for $5. Is New Vegas worth getting, too? I've heard pretty negative things about it...

New Vegas is way better than 3, I think. It has some of the same people who worked on the first two so if you enjoyed them. And the DLC for it is pretty good too, especially Old World Blues and Lonesome Road.
-

Would you be willing to trade any gotten cards for cards from other games? :3 Because I kind of want the System Shock 2 set, and I clearly won't have enough with one copy.
-
I read the cards info page but I'm still not sure what they do ???
e: also I meant I got SS2 2 minutes before the sale ended, but I ated one of the twos. I think it was clear though but eh :V

I read it as "2 minutes before" actually.
In any case, ze cards, zey do nozing, but you get to display them as a badge. You also get a Profile Background and an Emoticon for gathering a complete set. Unfortunately, buying the game usually only gets you half or one over half, so you're forced to buy/trade for the other ones. EDIT: I should mention I'm a huge War of the Roses geek so I want those cards, but SHODAN was my childhood waifu.
-
Get a full set of cards and you get a badge. Get a badge and your Steam Level goes up. The higher your Steam level, the greater your odds of getting cards. Or something like that.
Or you could just do what I do and sell the cards as you collect them, and put the money toward more games. It's like being paid to play BV
-
Aaah why did I buy System Shock 2, I don't like spooky games!

Fallout's on sale? I'm kind of tempted, but clearing space is ugh
-
Aasdfas I hate when I buy a few games in a short period of time and get anxious to play them all
-
Torchlight II on flash sale I am tempted.................
-
Gotta say that I am holding up pretty well in this sale. Only bought Tomb Raider Anniversary instead of buying the whole Tomb Raider pack and didn't buy neither Torchlight II nor any of the Fallout games. Only bought the games that I really plan to play (in the next 18 months :V).
-
Was trying to buy the 66% off XCOM for someone as a gift and due to a server error I didn't think it went through, and I wound up buying three copies :V
I've taken a huge chunk off my wishlist with this sale and completed the badge, the only thing I'm waiting for is a potential further pricedrop on AoE2HD.
-
Grrr, I still can't decide. Can one of you folks convince me for or against Torchlight II? I mean it's a great deal, but I don't wanna get it just for that reason... I have heard lots of stuff about it, but what makes it worth buying? What makes it good?

Yes: --> Buy Torchlight 2
No: --> Don't buy Torchlight 2

Never played Diablo 2, to be honest! I probably should sometime.
Maybe I should wait until then. I've already talked myself out of two other impulse buys tonight, so this will be yet another.

WORTH IT if you can play with a friend. I did so and got 60 hours and 2+ playthroughs out of the game. It really is just like Diablo 2, which is a strong argument for it. 4 classes that are all useful and fun to play as and don't really fit the mold of regular classes. It also has fun skills, rewarding build progression, and a good sense of humor. Modding scene is good too, and can do everything from mod merchant voices ("wot're ye buyin', stranguh?") to adding additional classes. Solo's not as much fun but still enjoyable. As far as dungeon crawlers/roguelikes go, it's right up there with... Diablo 2. But then again the people who made it made this game as well and modeled it after their greatest success which was... Diablo 2.

Oh boy, finally. Time to get Dawn of War franchise pack -75% off. Or maybe I'll just get DoW 2 complete and Soulstorm, seems like a much better idea.
All the sales so far have fallen right on my lap. I'm happy that I've got Dark Souls, Bastion, Magicka, and Shogun 2 on major discount so early into this summer sale already. Couldn't care less for anything past -75%, really.
-
I got KotOR and KotOR II when they dropped to 66% off today~ Actually playing will have to wait though.
-
So I just voted for Deus EX:HR all hyped up that I might be able to finally get it on the community choice, then I checked and I already have it for some reason. OH WELL

Remedy this. Serious Sam 3 in particular takes it to new highs (and lows). The start is mediocre but by the end of the game the massive wall of flesh, bone, lead, and explosives bearing down on you at any given moment reaches hysterical levels.

System Shock 2 on sale again. I'm almost tempted to just buy a few copies, gift it to people, and harass them for the cards later on.

Whelp I got paid this morning and picked up Ys I+II, Deus Ex, and Sleeping Dogs. Now I'm done with Steam. Unless something really, really neat comes up for really, really cheap.
-
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is on a semi-sale at 40% off. It's more 80's than feathered hair, Walkmans, and Duran Duran COMBINED.
-
Hrm. At this point they seem to just be putting games that have already been on sale once before or in a flash deal as the daily sales. Kind of disappointing.
But hey, Skyrim Legendary Edition for $36 for those who care.
-
Skyrim legendary edition is actually more than worth what they're charging with that sale. Highly recommended. The expansions are pretty well done for an elder scrolls game. (Plus the fact that Skyrim is in itself very pretty and awesomely manly). If you already have the game the individual expansions are all on sale for quite cheap too.
-
Excellent, Trials HD went on sale for $10, which is pretty much what I had left in my Steam Wallet. Barring some urge to gift something, that should do it for me this time around.
-
Most of the daily deals have reached repeat status, If you're still looking out to grab something in particular, it may be a good idea to check for it manually. I swooped in and grabbed La Mulana for half off.
Awesome stuff like Intrusion 2 is on sale as well!
EDIT again: Or I could just throw out the list site. http://steamdb.info/sales/

Why is Strike Suit Zero so cheap
I just spent a ton of money on life things
I can't ;-;
Gaben stop ;-;

Final Fantasy VII is finally on flash sale for ~$8. I'm getting it to be on the safe side, but I'm probably going to regret it because it'll probably be on sale on the last day for a better price, with my luck. :v

Recettear was my very first Steam game! I'll happily vote for it so other people can get it~

Still got a better deal than me. I wasn't expecting it to go on sale at all and bought it at full price :derp:
-
Hey, Awesomenauts for 3.39!! It's a 2D platform shooter MOBA with really quirky sci-fi cartoon characters. It's nothing like other MOBAs.
-
Capitalism, ho!
-
Just Cause (the first) is literally 27c right now.
Twenty
Seven
Cents.
That is all.
-
okay i suppose i can throw a quarter at it
why not
I've seen my brother playing Just Cause 2 and it's amusing in some of the worst ways, but I still don't care much. But the first game for 27 cents? Why the fuck not.
-

... I have 30 cents in my Steam wallet. :V
Like I don't even give a fuck but I'm going to buy it just because I can. For basically free since I was just selling sale cards.
-
I think I only spent like 10 bucks on this sale, I feel very accomplished by that
-

I think I got 10 GAMES. I'm more than set until next year. :V
-
I spent like 80 bucks.
Over half on other people, as is my wont.
-
Defiance for $10 last I checked. Some database error, real cheap, etc.
-
The Ys sale is having a big sale on steam (66% off IIRC?) I already ahve them all but it's a series no person should not play. If you haven't played any Ys games yet, don't start with I & II Chronicles, they're fine games, especially for their time, but those two do not represent the series as a whole anymore really. Try origins or oath of felghana and if you like em it's pretty safe to assume you'll like all the modern ones.
Of special note for some reason I find the story of the twin goddesses in origins to be quite touching. Ys isn't really a story heavy game, but their personalities int hat game seems so genuine. Not a copy paste goddess of love thing, and I'm not saying they're just unique either. They're actually believable.
-
Of the Ys games I'd recommend Oath of Felghana, as I find it to be more representative of Ys. Not so much because Origin doesn't represent it much in the spirit of gameplay, but you should really play Ys as Adol instead of the two hippies you get in Origin.
Ys I made me double-back for a moment, wondering how the hell people played a game where you run into enemies to damage them.
-
Ys I made me double-back for a moment, wondering how the hell people played a game where you run into enemies to damage them.
Very carefully, or very stubbornly. Probably both. *shudders at some of the fights on Nightmare*
-
Very carefully, or very stubbornly. Probably both. *shudders at some of the fights on Nightmare*
Floor 17 of Darm Tower has got to be the worst on Nightmare. Those stupid scorpions. And that rock boss.
But you know I actually liked the bump system. Aside the bat demon, the rock boss, the oni heads, and the Final Boss; the bump system made every other pass easy. Especially the worm, I hated that thing in Origins, but in I it was the funniest most one sided boss in the game.
-
Actually I find Adol to be a pretty uninspired protagonist, Yunica is an improvement IMO, the mage kid (forget his name) is a douche though so eff him... But you forgot Toal, you DID play toal didn't you? His route is even canon so not including him is just wrong!
Oath of Felghana is considered the best by most fans I believe, I can kinda see why too. I don't t hink the bosses and enemies are more fun than origins or whatever exactly, and the story is definately less touching, but it probably has the best replay value, with inferno mode and all. IIRC it was longer too per playthru so there is that.
As for the bump system, it's pretty fun in an old game but I'm certainly glad they didn't keep it for the modern ones =P. Floor 17 is indeed pretty annoying, more because of the shape of the floor than the actual enemies. But a good tip for those having issues is instead of trying to hit them at an angle, try being kinda close but not touching when you approach them, if you screw up and are too close, you'll prob be at an angle so that's good. If not, then just keep going -><--><- etc, the enemy will l staircase-shape move towards you and do the actual positioning FOR you, and when they reach the desired distance, stop jerking back and forth and attack.
-
ATLUS is part of this week's Playstation Weekly Sale. P4G for $20, P1-3 for $10, the Yggdra trio for $2.50 each ($3.50 for KitN), and so on.
-
But you forgot Toal, you DID play toal didn't you? His route is even canon so not including him is just wrong!
Something something not spoiling the secret third character something something.
Whether Adol is uninspiring isn't interesting, it's that he's the iconic hero of Ys so for the REAL YS FEEL you play as Adol.

Humble Origin Bundle.
Dead Space
Dead Space 3
Burnout Paraside: The Ultimate Box
Crysis 2: Maximum Edition
Medal of Honor
Mirror's Edge
Pay over the average to get:
Battlefield 3
The Sims 3: Starter Pack
lol origin and all that, but EA is donating all proceeds to charity here. It's pretty cool.
-
Such a low average~<3
I like that they let you pick how much money to send to the charities too.
-
oh hey mirrors edge and it has a steam code okay why not :V
-
This may be one of those things I get just to have them, because jesus that is an extreme discount
-
But Moooo~m, do I gotta install Origin?
-
But Moooo~m, do I gotta install Origin?
Some of the games (Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, Burnout, MoH, Crysis 2) have steam keys, so there's that.
-
Well, I'm thinking more along the lines of DS3 and Battlefield 3, which won't be more than distractions.
-
This bundle is pretty great, actually. Gonna give the topic a quick title change.

The current version of Yatagarasu is pretty underwhelming, but I'm totally hooked on War of the Human Tanks.

Uuuugh. I'd rather just donate to the charity directly instead of do anything promoting that asshole.

Also got the EA bundle because Sims 3 lol, the rest I either had or didn't care for. Made someone happy with a free BF3

its pretty much always been like that
although mark of the ninja is really good
and we all know about fez...

I never played Fez, just want Brutal Legend woo
decapitatiooooooooooon

Bought the set myself. Looks like a good combination.
...except I already have Br?tal Legend so there's an extra Steam key to boot.

I'll still buy it though, I'll just... figure out a way to un-own Fez.

Choose to put no money towards the developers, done. Everyone else loses out, but giving it to charity and Humble instead is fine with me.

As the only person with a Steam account on the planet left who didn't have FTL I am pleased.
I also did exactly what that picture says. I love my japanese games.
-
Sorry Shadoweh... I also didn't have FTL before this bundle~ :ohdear:
First Humble Bundle I've ever bought. Took me long enough to do so. ^^
-
KANJOU WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS RUINING MY PLANS?!
I have no regrets, or ability to sleep after buying this bundle. Would recommend 10/10
The weekly sale changed too, to Serious Sam stuff no one wants and System Shock 2 for the buyin
-
Humble Weekly Sale: Retro Shooters (https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly).
Already had System Shock 2 and Duke from GoG, and I wasn't particularly interested in Shadow Warrior, but I think this was worth it for the two Serious Sam HDs.
-
Serious Sam 1st & 2nd encounter are great classics, and are leagues better than that mess, Serious Sam 3.
Serious Sam 2nd encounter's DLC (Legend of the Best) is complete rubbish too. It plays like SS3, and you can tell that the maps were obviously QCed by the same incompetent people behind SS3.
Hard Reset's pretty fun too, but is quite graphically intensive.
I have no idea how I missed this function all this time.
-
I liked Serious Sam 3. :(
Anyone want Steam keys for Serious Sam 1st/2nd HD? I already have them on Steam so I want them to go to a good home. PM me!
Also <3 System Shock 2.
-
Haha, there's nothing wrong with you liking it, and me hating it.
I just didn't enjoy
- all that backtracking resulting from
- trickling & endless waves of same-y enemies
- blood & dust obscuring my vision
- reloading
- fewer weapon types
- less freedom in choosing which weapons to use
- and many, many more!
I could go on and on and on and on :V
But more power to you if you liked that style! It just wasn't my cup of tea.
-
- trickling & endless waves of same-y enemies
Serious Sam
What
-
Talking about SS3 here yo. Most waves are just comprised of Kleers, and headless kamikazes.
The first two had a better mix of enemies.
Case in point, check out the Corridor of Death segment of this video of the 2nd Encounter: (That's the last combat section)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2fFhL-jWzA&hd=1 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2fFhL-jWzA&hd=1)
On the other hand, SS3 ladies and gentlemen:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wo-3HKCLNO0 (Yeah, not being able to see what you're shooting is the norm.) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wo-3HKCLNO0)
https://youtu.be/nqwJRYAxVAE?t=1m5s (And yeah, this is the final stage. And yeah, the lighting's amazing like that.) (http://youtu.be/nqwJRYAxVAE?t=1m5s)
-
Selective quoting is fun, but the games always had a lot of enemy repetition
Also the lighting there looks perfectly fine to me :derp:
-
So apparently the first Valhalla Knights is completely free on PSN (even for non-Plus) for the weekly sale.

Shit I want this bundle, but I can't afford all this capitalism in a single month :(
-
This week's Humble Weekly Sale (https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly) features none other than Team 17's Worms series. By yourself, the games are a way to pass the time by yourself at best. With friends, it becomes far, far better.
-
That and it includes Superfrog; a game I have secretly missed playing from the Amiga days. {Them floppy disks!}
But yeah, I will likely swipe these up~ XD

Speaking of this, does anyone have the English patch for Hatoful Boyfriend? The mediafire URL for it at the official translator's site seems to be down. :V

I don't have the patch on me, but I know the translator, so I'll poke them about it.
-
I don't have the patch on me, but I know the translator, so I'll poke them about it.
Merci! Please PM me once you get it.

No I meant I told them that their link was broken, so they can fix it :p
-
Oh derp, okay. Well then, PM me when/if they let you know it's back up? :P
I'm glad for this doujin bundle just because it was worth it for Higurashi, but I wish they had double-checked their products first. The issues with the VS mode of Vanguard Princess were mostly out of their hand, but providing a Japanese-only version of Hatoful was kinda off...

Steam autumn sale NOW
-
And on this day, our wallets received a grim reminder... They lived in fear... of Steam's Seasonal Sales~
*titan image goes here*
Eyeing up a lot; though kind of annoyed that the whole bundle of Ticket to Ride (including all DLCs) is on sale, but not the DLCs themselves. There's no point me getting that when I am only missing two~ ><
However, Trails Evolution half price; yes fricking please! XD
-
(http://i.imgur.com/tEpB9nk.jpg) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoGxA48HQ1g)
-
Sleeping Dogs is dirt cheap now, and I can't not recommend this game.
A MAN WHO NEVER EAT PORK BUN IS NEVER WHOLE MAN
That said, oh hey I own everything I want within the range I'm willing to pay. Where's your Gabe now, Valve
-
I have gone from being broke and having too much time and energy on my hands to being able to afford extra stuff if I want and having no energy or time to play many games. It is a sad irony.
;_;
-
Steam sales already?? Does that mean there won't be a Christmas sale? Or is this just to trick us and make us buy at higher prices before it hits? Damnit! How do I maximize my savings!?
-
They've announced that they're making the autumn sale and winter sale right next to each other, so you better prepare your wallet
-
How do I maximize my savings!?

Remember when I said this...
...kind of annoyed that the whole bundle of Ticket to Ride (including all DLCs) is on sale, but not the DLCs themselves.
However, Trails Evolution half price; yes fricking please! XD
Well, I just had a wonderful moment! Ti (friend of mine in the UK) gifted me the two DLC maps I was missing for Ticket to Ride. But the big one was finding out that Trials just went in the Flash deal; 75% off.
You have no idea how quickly I pressed 'Add to Cart.' Very, VERY happy with that.
May also pick up Skyrim at last... I always tend to be curious when a lot of hype is around for certain games; hence why I've left it for so long. However, I'm messing around with bikes first; FRONT FLIP FOR STYLE! XD
{Should the thread title be changed for the time being? I mean, Humble Bundle's great and all, but when Steam does a sale, it's always huge. :V }
-
Hey
I'm just gonna point out that during this sale, it appears that La-Mulana is 3 bucks. That's it. 1/5th of the normal price. And if you say you like genuinely challenging games but have never played La-Mulana before you need to go remedy this immediately.
-
Skyrim is ?3.74.
In the words of TotalBiscuit: WHAT THE HELL.
Sorry but after today I would be shocked if any PC gamer in the UK lacks Skyrim. You'd be MAD to not get it at this price.
-

Even Legendary Edition is cheap.

Yup, I picked up Skyrim Legendary. And the Portal Collection. I think I might be the only person who hasn't played them.
-
If you wish to co-op run Portal 2 at some point, I'll be happy to partner up~ :3
Till then, TOOT TOOT!
-
XCOM: Enemy Unknown is the best game I've played in years. It could be the best game YOU'VE played in years, too.
-
Oi, I could totes use a Portal 2 partner too. I never did the co-op because my partner when the game got released bailed on me
-
Poor Australia. Doesn't have much good sales. D:
-
Sure, I'd love to play co-op with both of you.
-

~$100 game development software on the humble bundle lol

Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics free on GOG today and tomorrow. (http://www.gog.com/promo/fallout_series_giveaway_winter_promo_2013)
Well worth it for anyone into that series. ...on another note, site's getting lots of traffic at this time so it may take time to log in.
-
Something tells me Steam's Holiday Sale starts tomorrow.
The Daily Deal is only 24 hrs instead of the usual 48 hrs. This also happened right before the Autumn Sale.
-
So it starts in 3 hours?
-
That's the theory.
-
Oh boy oh boy oh boy! :yukkuri:
-
ARE YOU READY FOR A MIRACLE~
-
>FTL as a choice for community pick
Don't normally participate in the holiday rush, but maybe I'll make an exception in 8 hours...
-
READY AS I CAN BE.
-
And so the glorious moment of winter that is the Steam Sale begins! And Konami pitches Metal Gear Rising straight onto the front page~ :V
Got a long way to go before the sale ends, so I'm hoping I can at least get a few games off my wishlist this time~ XD
-
I picked up Septerra Core, because why the fuck not? Also, got the Stanley Parable for my friend.
-
Okay why does Valve have a Daily Sale on Bioshock Infinite for $14.99 when they also have a sale on Bioshock Bundle that includes the first two Bioshock, and Infinite for $14.99.
Seriously Valve...
-
They've pretty much done the same for Sonic Generations. ?9.99 for the game... or ?9.99 for every single Sonic game (including the SEGA racers) and Sonic Gen for, you guessed it, ?9.99.
And that's not even on the Daily Deal~ :V
-
I hope that valdis story game gets a sale. It looks fantastic imo, but i dont know a single person who has played it, and every time i ask if they think it looks interesting i suddenly start getting ignores. Its not an h-game or anything, i dont get it =p
-
>FTL got picked for Community Choice, down to just $3.40
>Recettear is just 5 dollars
>5 and a half hours remaining on both
Oh dear god, it's going to suck choosing just one.
Ended up getting FTL since I'm playing it now and won't feel bad that I skipped it in a sale like that.
-
I wish more indies will be on the daily deals/community choice list.
-
Didn't purchase anything yet, but Revengeance went straight to my Wishlist.
-
Only bought Batman: AO and Monaco so far...
Though my wishlist is dominated by DLC and add-ons. In fact, of my 40 of so items there, only 4 are the games themselves, and one of which is a no-buy until at least Summer of next year (take a wild guess what that one is).
-
Do you think Risk of Rain is worth it on Single Player?
-
Do you think Risk of Rain is worth it on Single Player?
Risk of Rain is pretty great, I have to admit
Oh yeah
La-Mulana is only 1.50$ on Steam. This is important. The game is freaking amazing and if you missed it the first time you really should get it now.
-
Hotline Miami on Steam : Down to ?2.37.
This is tempting...
Humble Store : ?1.59.
Welp, I've got no excuse now. Buying it at last. :V

Fairly interesting Metroidvania...I guess I could buy it.
-
Wait, $1.50? Oh, sure, they cut La Mulana's price in half... after I bought it for a friend for $3 the day before. :V
Edit: Wait, the price is still listed as $3. Both of us checked.
-
It was a flash sale. Gotta check every 8 hours.
It isn't like it's not worth it for $3, though.
-
It'll probably be back as a reg sale
-
Yeah, it was a flash, which means it'll probably be a regular sale sometime too.
Or if you want I have like four spare copies of the game sitting on my Steam inventory I will gladly give out because it's such a fucking amazing game

No problem then. Just add me on Steam sometime (Garlyle Wilds); I should be able to send it once I'm home in a little bit.
-
Succumbed to BF2's $5 sale, despite not being a fan of the modern millitary shooter genre. Gaben has my wallet again. V:
-
No problem then. Just add me on Steam sometime (Garlyle Wilds); I should be able to send it once I'm home in a little bit.
I just got it, and OH MY GOD. This is so bizarre, funny and hard!
I mean, srz a village that has a technology craze for e-mails, pcs, and weapons.
Btw. People chose Chivalry than Brothers at Community Choice. Sad. D:
I wanted to try out Brothers. Anyways, next is Esther, Braid, and The Binding of Isaac. All three of them looks good, but I don't really know about Esther, plus I haven't tried out Braid yet. Still, is Esther good since some of you already has it.
-
Gifted a random TF2 friend of mine La-Mulana since it was on his Wishlist, and he returned the favor with Eldrich (which was not on mine but oh well).
'Tis the season.
-
I just got it, and OH MY GOD. This is so bizarre, funny and hard!
I did too even though I wasn't really ever planning on trying it despite the praise...thing is I just...I dunno.. something about platformers turn me off unless they are a platform/beatemup (like double dragon, not contra/metal slug) hybrid. I'm like perma-disinterested of platformers in general after the nes era I guess? Still, I think I'll actually try it soon cuz my "sigh, platformer" mood is toned down more than usual atm, take advantage of it while it lasts!
Btw. People chose Chivalry than Brothers at Community Choice. Sad. D:
I don't know either, but I'm just glad fez didn't win. I mean I thought it just had a daily deal a couple days ago, AND a flash deal last night. Combine that with the fact that I have no knowledge of that game until that thread a couple months ago about its developer dude making a total ass of himself and then raging at the community telling him so, then throwing a pity party for himself about it, I hope that game doesn't make another cent =P....Unless maybe there were other devs too, not sure.
Anywayy... Ys 1+2 up there... While I love Ys and think everyone should try Ys, EVERYONE...I'm not sure 1+2 is a great place to start at this point. Origins or oath of felghana would be better since they both capture what Ys IS nowdays rather than the 1+2 remake.
Also, anyone else bummed that Trails in the Sky still isn't on steam? Was supposed to be out "late 2013"..getting pretty darn late now I'd say, and we haven't even heard so much of a peep about it since its original announcement months ago. Seems like every localization I'm really looking forward to is being delayed without any news updates, apologies, or whatever at all. If they don't think they can come up with a new accurate date that's ok, just say "sorry, it'll be late, dunno how long, but my dog ate the last 50 builds!" or something. Not bashing carpe/xseed at this point, since it still isn't technically late at all yet, just nervous because I've seen it happen alot lately and I'm expecting this case will be the same again.
-

I'd have to disagree: Ys 1+2 perfectly captures the crazy energy in the combat that the other games have tried to emulate. It was the game that really endeared me to Ys.
-
Hey, Rome 2 is on a Flash sale @ 50% off...
... I still wouldn't buy it even at 75% off.
However, ROTT @ $3? *SNARF*
-
It's a shame that Super Hexagon's going to easily win the next flash deal because it'll be 30 cents, because this looks super cute and I want it http://store.steampowered.com/app/251990/

By the way Matsy is too polite to say it but you all are going to vote Long Live The Queen :|.

congratulations you saved 30 cents wow congrats

Soooooooooooooooo it turns out that it's okay most of Hanako Games's stuff is half-off right now anyway (http://www.hanakogames.com/) (including LLtQ). LLtQ license keys can be redeemed for Steam keys here (http://nettle.spikycaterpillar.com/); not sure where one would do similar for Magical Diary but that's cheaper on Steam right now anyway.
Also it doesn't show until you've added it to your cart so don't let the price on the product pages fool you. :V
-
Figures I finally remember to vote and it was already over. Oh well. Couldn't get anything myself because MAGFest, but that game does look neat so it would've been nice to see others get it at a discount.

so basically if i buy LLTQ from steam. It's still $5?.

No, it's $9 on Steam. But get it on the site posted above, and you'll get it for $5; and you can get a Steam key via the other link so you can get it at the price the flash sale was trying to give us.

But...but I'm out of Paypal money! I-I----I can't buy LLTQ. D:

L4D2 is free today! (http://steamcommunity.com/games/L4D2/announcements/detail/1964991833269216480) If you don't have it, grab it now ~
-
already have it but want to check other deals atm but my steam wont connect now! noouuu.
-
It actually looks like Steam crashed when that sale came up. That popular, huh?
-
argh. I saw the shop for like 5 seconds, had dungeon defenders up for something really cheap on the flash deal and I was like imma buy dat @#%#@%.. but now it's not responding again. nouu.
-
Guess it wasn't such a great idea after all to make L4D2 free while nobody is at work to keep an eye on the servers!
-
If you don't know what to vote for, vote for Deadly Premonition! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OUP_Z3iZPs)
-
Just for gags, what games are you guys eagerly hoping for to get a daily/flash/community sale?
Im hoping for starpoint gemini 2, dungeon dashers, and... I forget the name, dungeon of endless or something... Not the one that had a flash sale 2/3 days ago, another one with a similar name.
I dont believe in buying early access games but if they have a big discount ill prob croak.
-
Out of all the things on my Wishlist, Adventure Time is something I'd love to see crash down in price. It just joined the general 20% off stuff, so I'm hoping it drops into one of the sales soon.
After that, Small World 2 (which doesn't even have a discount yet, so I'm not holding out for that), and maybe Long Live the Queen... it's on there, but I'm still on two minds about it. If it drops low, I'll likely get it. ^^
Also, with FC3 : Blood Dragon on Flash Sale, is there anyone here who'd recommend it?
-
AC4 Black Flag is 25% off. GDI steam, I did ask you to put it on sale, but doing so right AFTER I bought some other games is cruel.
-
(http://puu.sh/60I7v.jpg)
I don't know about you but that doesn't look like it's under $10 to me.
-
Also, with FC3 : Blood Dragon on Flash Sale, is there anyone here who'd recommend it?
YES YES YES. It might just be FC3 with a fresh set of paint, but it's so 80's that all it lacks is a hair band supergroup. It's so self-conscious about what it is and it's wonderful.
-
Aaaand LLTQ is on the Flash Sale. And shmups are on deck for the next community vote, too... Hm.
-
Bought LLTQ. It looks fun.
-
Someone gave me LLTQ. WHO GAVE ME LLTQ, I closed the window before I had the chance to read it. I was like "WHAT?!"
I am very thankful really, but...I already bought LLTQ before someone gave me the gift. Ha! So inconvenient. And yes, I don't use hotmail anymore. I can trade the game for another game. Anyone want to trade?
Edit: Oh it's Slain087, aka PurpleHeart aka Zengetsu.
Wow, Thank you really, but now I have two copies. xD
I want to sell this, but I'll feel bad since this is a gift. I guess I could send it back to you or gift someone else.
Ok, I just gifted it to my friend. Anyways, dude, Purp-san, still thanks, that was unexpected.~
-
Bought LLTQ. It looks fun.
ahaha oh man this is great
-
LLTQ gave me a thing for scared princesses with twin drills >_> <_<
It's also fun as hell and worth the retail price; buy it for everyone on Steam sale that you know.
-
I'm kind of sad that the optimal solution in-game involves
turning into a magical girl and blowing up all of your problems
. <_<
-
eh? I tried the game awhile back and it was interesting for the first playthru or two but I couldn't really enjoy it many times over... however my ending seemed pretty darn good and it didn't involve blowing anything up.
Gonna spoiler....just so people don't know a game-winning "build" if they don't want to
I was challenged to a magical duel to the death by some evil dark elf mage dude, and I lost despite having 100% in every mystic catagory because my zord skill was low. So I tried again only skilled up my zords too, beat him, and won...I think there was like a day or two after killing him, but I don't think anything was threatening.
-
Hey now, hey.
Magic doesn't solve all your problems.
Sometimes you magic too hard and RELEASE THE KRAKEN.
>_>
-
It looks like a cool game, which is why I followed the vote and posted about the flash sale on IRC, but I didn't buy it because I suck at these sorts of things. The only real options in my head are to block out what I can't knock out, so...
-
Ooh, agarest on sale... never tried the game yet. I've heard it was terrible cuz it was a boring grindfest. But other than disgaea, I've never felt "boring grindfest" with any rpg ever unless mmo... and for disgaea, well I liked 1, I just had a hard time enjoying the nwer ones AFTER the main storyline. They were fine games, but then they basically go from a final boss of level 70, to all the trash are level 800 in like 3 effing missions, and the only way you can possibly level up to tackle them in a lifetime is by dumping strategy completely and just grinding ONE effing dude up, and have him 1shot everything over and over, yay, strategic rpg fun, not....not sure why people like that. In disgaea 1, postgame was scaled gradually just like the main game (as long as you don't bother finishing the cave of ordeals completely before you move on to the human world and beyond).
People say labyrinth of touhou is a boring grindfest too sometimes, but...well, whatever. Wish me luck that I enjoy it!
-
Anyone want Cherry Tree High? I can trade it for Nihulumbra or Limbo.

I tried to get into Agarest but eugh; It's not only grindy it's slow in gameplay design and execution. Really slow. I'm sure it picks up eventually but four hours into it I was already feeling all my curiosity about the game having gone to pieces.
Super Mario 3D World is the game that never ends. You keep thinking you've reached the end and then NOPE. also it's freaking amazing.

Steam, you done goofed!
Now if only it would have let me put it in my shopping basket~ :V
{Update : And it's gone back to normal now; figures.}
-
The only game that I can think of that I genuinely want to play went off sale for the final day because it was and probably never will be a featured/flash sale item. I have more than enough stuff to keep me busy, though. At this rate, I'll be gifting more stuff this time next year than getting for myself.

I'll take 500,000 copies, please.

ffs steam I am trying to actually use your extended sale to buy a birthday gift for someone but jesus you've been down for nine hours now.

ffs steam I am trying to actually use your extended sale to buy a birthday gift for someone but jesus you've been down for nine hours now.
They aren't down. But the servers are really shitty today. I mean, I have been getting 118 errors numerous times, when clearly I'm online.
I thought it was the client, then I tried browsers, still nothing. Getting 503 errors. And ffs Valve, I haven't played Dota 2 since last year, since I was too busy playing games I bought. I went from 80 ping last year to 400 ping today.
Anyways, I'm regretting not being able to buy Nihulumbra.
-
Humble Bundle X is up. I think I'll pass on this one though.
-
So I got Dungeon of the endless founder's pack, which comes with a 50% off coupon for Endless space. Apparently you can trade these, and I already have the game soo.. anyone want it? It's free but I'll accept small donations if you like too =P. I've never used steam coupons before but the faq says you can trade them, however it says they do NOT stack with sales so if you wanna wait for a sale or something it wont do you much good, it's more of a if you want it now thing.
I have no clue if it works for the gold package which comes with the expansion or not. I have an expansion coupon too but I intend to use that since I don't have it yet.

So Sony's having a sale to celebrate 2014:

Tales of Xillia (PS3)
Lone Survivor (PS3 and PSV - separate, tho)
rain (PS3)
F1 2013 (PS3)
Thomas Was Alone (PS3 and PSV - separate, tho)
Puppeteer (PS3)
Crysis 3 (PS3)
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (Premium) (PS3)
BIT.TRIP Runner2 (PS3)
Dues Ex: Human Revolution (PS3)
Pool Nation (PS3)

Spelunky (PSV)
Epic Mickey 2 (PSV)
Worms Revolution Extreme (PSV)
LIMBO (PSV)
Soul Sacrifice (PSV)
PixelJunk Monsters (PSV)
Sly Cooper Thieves in Time (PSV)
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (PSP/V)
Really now, I know it's because those two are not Cross-Buy, but why post them twice to fill the gap?
-
If only I had a Playstation Plus account I'd be all over at least a couple of these.
-
Nice find, imma get tales of xillia... I still haven't really tried a tales game much, I got vesperia but never got too into it. Xilia's combat looks better in the sense that it's possible to solo everything without getting hit if you play skillfully. Vesperia is kinda designed to trade blows, get healed, etc....not that that is bad, I just haven't been in the mood for that in a 3d movement game thing.

rogueliiiiiiiiiiikes
-
Six roguelike games. Get your reflexes ready.
>Rougelikes are a genre defined by turn-based actions and having as much time as you need to plan your next move
Almost a dealbreaker for me.
-
Not... particularly? I mean, yes, that's the majority of the genre but they're more primarily defined by being procedurally-generated dungeons, random nature, and concept of permanent death, which insures each time you play it the game is guaranteed to be a different experience than before.
Besides, there are still some turn-based ones in there. Most of the best turn-based roguelikes are free anyway :v
-
>Rougelikes are a genre defined by turn-based actions and having as much time as you need to plan your next move
Almost a dealbreaker for me.
The dealbreaker should more be that the only good games in that are in the high purchase tier (and chances are if you were actually interested in Binding or Teleglitch you already have them)
-
Now that 14 for '14's over, Sony has two new sets of deals. First, Play 2014, which has OlliOlli, some Dragonball Z game, Dustforce, and one I can't quite decipher on my television. Strangely, while the pages for the items do exist, there's no preorders like last year. Second, there's a music sale - a bunch of music, videos, free Music Unlimited streaming, and games. Game offerings are pretty sparse; Sound Shapes, KickBeat, Everyday Shooter, Retro/Grade, Rock Band Blitz (aka Amplitude done worse), etc.
-

This is true, but I'm under the belief that roguelikes are traditionally turn-based, and realtime games are exceptions to the rule. Thus saying "prepare your reflexes" subverts that a bit.
I'm just nitpicking anyway (and I already have most of those games regardless so I didn't buy it after all)

Gamefly digital has a few indie games on -30%_50% off. I already have starpoint gemini 2 so i didnt get it there but i wanna get dungeon dashers for 30% off. But the cart checkout page keeps timing out for me. Is it busted for everyone else too?
Btw if you haven't heard of gamefly digital ive used it before no problems. If you research gamely its one horror story after another but that is for their physical rental service, as far as i know their digital service is fine, and iirc the game i got on it had a steam key so im sure you get steam's policy on it?
-
Isn't gamefly ridiculously expensive for a rental service?
I thought about getting it once but I found out it was like 30 bucks a month or something after the starter deal wore out.
-

Anyway the site is working for me now yay. I bought dungeon dashers, and yeah, you buy a steam product activation key for less than the price steam has so... not really sure how it's a bad deal? I imagine that means you get steam's support policy on it if you ever need it right?.
-
https://www.humblebundle.com/
Humble Sid Meier Bundle.
Get it while it's cheap!
Srz, I'm definitely buying this, considering Civ 5 is more expensive even on any steam sale, and it sux without the Gods and Kings DLC.
Edit:
I have no more funds in PayPal that's enough for $15...
I still have $20 Steam funds though. Anyone want to buy me the bundle in exchange for an equivalent value'd game in steam of your choice? :3
-
What makes gods and kings such a must have? I tried civ 5 and felt it just wasnt an improvement over civ4 but never tried with the expansion so im curious before i shell out 500 bucks (canadian exchange rate is effing hella low atm qq)
-
G&K significantly changes the game with espionage and religion components, 100HP on units rather than 10, new units, rebalances, new civs which take advantage of the new mechanics, new terrain, and so on. Also the majority of Workshop mods require G&K and/or BNW.
BNW adds G&K game mechanics as well IIRC on top of its new offerings (United Nations, culture/tourism, ideology, even more civs and a significantly changed France, dedicated trade caravan system), just not most of G&K's new civs.

Dungeon Keeper is being offered for freeeeee for the next two days, as long as you have a (free) account for the site. I actually own the gold edition of the game from forever ago, but I hear this place adjusts old games to make them function on new computers properly.

Guacamelee Gold Edition
Dust: An Elysian Tail
Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams
The Swapper
Antichamber
Monaco: What's Yours is Mine
These are all really great.
-
Sony's having yet another sale pair going on right now; sales on games released last year, like P4A, Injustice, Guacamelee!, etc.; and sales to celebrate the Vita's anniversary, like Killzone: Mercenary, Malicious Rebirth, and Hotline Miami. In case you don't have a Vita, though, the games which have a PS3 counterpart like Spelunky have that version on sale too.
And of course there's the Ubisoft sale still going on.
-
For today only, Red Orchestra 2 is free on Steam. Rising Storm not included, but there should be a free weekend for it coming up.
-
Playstation is having a Golden Week sale

Chrono Trigger

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection

Atelier Totori Plus
I don't know if it's different on the consoles or not.
-
PS3 has:
Chrono Cross
Chrono Trigger

Metal Gear Solid HD
rain
Soulcalibur V
Zone of the Enders HD Collection
Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z

May I suggest that the main title get an update in light of what I'm about to report...
Because for the next 14 days, the main Humble Bundle is going daily! That's right! A brand new bundle every 24 hours for two weeks; on top of the daily sale they're currently having on their store.
Certainly worth watching, or at least throwing games at the faces of those you know who want them~ :V
-
... Wow.
-
Throw games in my face, I'm broke
I already missed out on Metro 2033 orz
-
IndieGala seems to have a couple of good games for around $2 minimum. (https://www.indiegala.com/weekly) Might be worth checking out.

Steam Summer Sale imminent. 10-card "Mysterious" Badge currently visible in Badges.
>Steam's usual Week-Long deal starts.
>Only has 7 items.
>Ends 19th July... which is this Thursday.
Hang on a second. These normally stop on the Sunday / Monday... could this be the week it kicks off? XD
-
There was a leak from somewhere that said it would start the 19th, so yeah, sounds right.
-
Today's Deal (Aliens Colonic Marines) only has a 24 hr timer rather than the usual 48 hr one.
Tomorrow is the 19th.
-
Are there any games you're looking forward to being on sale?
Do you have conspiracies about Gabe Newell planning for world domination (of your wallet)?
Do you want a chance at free stuff!? Too bad! http://tf2r.com/kf0gs7a.html
(I lied)
-
I am doing my best to save up my money for a new laptop, so new games (aside from Mario Kart 8, perhaps) are out of my reach. That being said, Steam has never disappointed with its crazy sales. I'm sure a lot of games on my wishlist will be happy to be finally adopted when this sale begins. :D
-
Tiny and Big is $1 on Steam rn and it's pretty fun.
-
IT BEGINS
-
READY AS I CAN BE
-
you may be ready
Sorry
The Steam Store is experiencing some heavy load right now. Please try again later.
but steam isnt
-
SO IT BEGINS.
Can't recommend X-COM: Enemy Unknown enough. A great turn-based strategy game on every level. Besides, you get to punch creepy aliens in the face with giant mech soldiers and hear your Polish sniper bid an "hasta la vista, baby!" to a mean beastie best summarized as a facehugger that cross-bred with a bug from Starship Troopers. It's on my short list of games that I'd like to replay.
-
Half-Minute Hero is 2.50$ ; HMH The Second Coming is 25% off (and a potential contender for flash sales). must watch carefully. very carefully.
buy them they're fucking amazing games
-
Going to ask, with almost an hour into this Sale, has anyone bought anything yet?
Personally, I'm going to wait and see if certain games get more discounts. (Trials Fusion being one.) Keeping an eye on what everyone else is throwing in for suggestions, but it's going to be most fun watching my friends over here squirm away~ XD
-
Going to ask, with almost an hour into this Sale, has anyone bought anything yet?
Rush Bros is like a 1$ and I've been curious about it since it's a music-generated platforming game that's apparently really damn good, so I picked that up.
We'll see what happens with everything else as I'm mostly going to be waiting on Flash Sales.
-
Miiiiiiiiiight pick up X-com (and then probably never get around to it oops too many games). Store was kinda choking on me earlier though so.
-
I'm waiting to see if Valdis wins the vote. And on Guacamelee to go on sale. And I noticed La Mulana is 75% off, should I get it? It seems like one of those games everyone's always going on about.
-
I'm waiting to see if Valdis wins the vote. And on Guacamelee to go on sale. And I noticed La Mulana is 75% off, should I get it? It seems like one of those games everyone's always going on about.
La-Mulana - mainly the remake - is legitimately one of my favourite games of all time, and as someone who owns several hundred games on Steam alone that's no small recognition. So long as you're willing to put up with a genuinely difficult game - and not just in the action sense but also in ways that will heavily test your observational skills, puzzle-solving, memory, reasoning, and curiosity. This isn't a game where you just whack every wall until you find the one that breaks. Because of all of that, it's also an incredibly rewarding game and every bit of progress you make feels so good. It's also extremely lovingly crafted, with fantastic music and beautiful area designs and fantastic boss fights. It's also a rare Metroidvania that is genuinely non-linear - your exploration is your own, and you're not locked into "well it feels open but actually your progression is the same every playthrough". And it gets even more open and crazy on successive playthroughs.
3.75$ is more than a fair price for it, so do it. Do it and report back.
-
so DayZ is on sale
for just 15% off
and its still tops the chart rofl
-
I just woke up and it's already eating into my very limited budget. Goddamn it.
-
Some of the deals are tempting, but GOG sales, situation, and TF2 taunts have definitely already eaten into my budget.

No Final Fantasy 3 discount? Ehhh. Might pick up a Visual Novel if those go on discount, otherwise probably not spending my money.
-
Planning to buy:
Other bordrlands 2 dlc I don't own
All xcom dlc
All the assassin creed games
Rome total war 2
Dark souls 2 is a possibility if I haven't already run over 75$
-
Eh. I'd be hard pressed to just spend money just because. For once my stupid backlog proves helpful! Too many other games, so I gueeeesss Newell won't get my money~!
*waves wallet in front of him* See this? Not for you! Hahahaha!
Maybe if some friends start playing a game together and I see it cheap enough(and my laptop can RUN it), but I dunno. Is FFV on there anywhere? Might pick it up if it hits under $6 or something unless it already is, then my requirement will be tougher.
-
FC3: Blood Dragon was too hard to pass up. Damnit Gaben. :V
*waves wallet in front of him* See this? Not for you! Hahahaha!
Gaben always finds a way....
Is FFV on there anywhere?
Assuming the 5th Final Fantasy game, nope.avi.
-
Assuming the 5th Final Fantasy game, nope.avi.
A shame. I might have been convinced to part with some money if it were.
-
Might I convince you to instead part with 5$ for OCTODAD: DADLIEST CATCH because it's a beautifully silly game
Of course it's only 5$ for like the next three hours but it'll probably show up on a daily sale or another flash sale at some point because steam sales work like that
-
Even if FFV were to be released, it'd not get a discount due to being too new.
-
theLast Remnant is ?2 (75% off) and is well worth it for the PC version.
Stupidly complex systems, and majorly improved over the xbox360 version. (remember to go into settings to get it to show tooltips for Keyboard if not using 360 gamepad)
-
Can we get a day of featured sales without early access games clogging it up? Seriously.
-
Did xcom complete get a flash/community sale yet? I missed a few so I dunno. I know it's on a 50% sale now but I don't wanna buy it and then see it 75% off cuz flash later.
-
I remember X-COM was a featured sale, but I can't remember if it was Daily, Vote, or Flash. Someone else may though.
-
Did xcom complete get a flash/community sale yet? I missed a few so I dunno. I know it's on a 50% sale now but I don't wanna buy it and then see it 75% off cuz flash later.
It did. Daily sale.
-
but not flash/community. Thanks. I'll hope for a better sale (it happens every time in my experience for me).
-
Practically everything goes on sale again on the last day
-
guess who finally bought skyrim lel
i hope i can get through character creation at least before the computer shits up again
-
but not flash/community. Thanks. I'll hope for a better sale (it happens every time in my experience for me).
It was like 80+% off though.
-
And with Skullgirls hitting up the flash sale, I finally got the DLC I had been missing thus far.
Now if only my mood for actually playing these games perked up for once. (Still waiting for my Top 5 games to hit the sale.) XD
-
It was like 80+% off though.
Oh really? Argh.
In any case km still hoping for another =p.
I also just discovered a game thats very cheap already without a flash/daily, SPAZ, if it gets a sale itll prob save an extra 30 cents!
-
>All Tomb Raider games for ?11.
>MGR:Revengeance half price.
>South Park on Daily.
>Borderlands 2 down, including GotY this time.
Man... I can hear my bank crying. Still unsure about getting Border 2; that's still up to the opinions of others. However, all the TR games is pretty tempting; another series I grew up with. XD
-
Goddamn, I'm down to my last $24 and it's only day 4.
-
I've never understood how people get so badly wrecked by these sales, to be honest. I hope this doesn't come across as mocking; I'm genuinely curious.
-
Dunno about other people, but I just set myself a budget ($50 this year) and never spend over it.
It helps that there's a very specific pool of games that I want and I won't buy anything else unless it's like $0.5 or something and it basically fits into the leftover money that I would have from the games I want being on sale for the prices I expect.
-
Oh, ok, $24 out of a set BUDGET...I almost thought you got snared into spending just some unspecified amount of money because the prices were so good or something.
-
I have a very narrow interest, and a very whimsical nature. I tend not to spend much money on any Steam sale. I was tempted to get Final Fantasy III during the community sale, but missed my opportunity; likewise I considered buying Dynasty Warriors 8 finally, but also lost the opportunity. I tend to fret for a time whether it's worth my money and usually by the time I think it is, the sale's gone and I'm none the richer (or poorer).
-
Final Fantasy III during the community sale
What the fuck it was on sale? Sleeping sucks.
-
I hope civ5 wins the vote. Ive been wanting to try it ever since some people here swore up and down that its only good after the expansions.
-
Hoping strategy wins the community choice thing but then again i'm probably not going to get civ 5 anyways because >$7.50 ;_;
basically just be really really stingy
-
What the fuck it was on sale? Sleeping sucks.
Yeah. Once Final Fantasy VII or VIII make it into a sale again, Final Fantasy III will be 33% off. Best keep track of that, since they're a little sneaky about it.
-
>$7.50 ;_;
Be glad that you don't live in Australia where some games on steam are double the price that they are in the US, despite the fact that we have to pay in USD, for whatever reason.
That's a base price of $70 being discounted to $17.50 for Civ V in Australia as opposed to $30 -> $7.50 in the US.
-

Idea: Pay someone the equivalent of the US price, have them buy thte game and gift it to you?
-
That's what I do for games like that.
For example, I got Amra to buy me Borderlands 2 GotY to and gave him $10 worth of something else since I would have to pay double the price for me to buy the same game otherwise.
-
Dormio voted against civ5 *rolls up sleeves*, LETS GET EM!!! =p
-
Be glad that you don't live in Australia where some games on steam are double the price that they are in the US, despite the fact that we have to pay in USD, for whatever reason.
For a lot of games for Europeans, Steam just swaps the dollar sign to a euro sign... and the euro is worth more than a dollar. Paying a solid 21% more than Americans on a lot of games is suffering.
-
21% more beats paying 133% more than Americans in the case of Civ V. :derp:
-
Fora a lot of games for Europeans, Steam just swaps the dollar sign to a euro sign... and the euro is worth more than a dollar. Paying a solid 21% more than Americans on a lot of games is suffering.
See above method. Get a US friend to buy, give them the price THEY paid, via Paypal or whatever other method, and pay the correct price.
-
Id offer to help with that but i only have 30 bux to spare, and between wanting civ5 and xcom i dont really have any left... Especially since i also want to get broforce i it gets a flash and spaz... And possibly other games that im just not thinking of yet.
-
I got Borderlands 2 GotY edition despite having only about $50 total.
someone stop me from buying civ v dlc
-

I suggest buying it for me instead! then you wont be able to afford it!? =P
Seriously, don't get it now, it might win community choice sale in 4 hours.
-
oh hey ftl is on sale i hear that's pretty go-
You already own FTL: Faster Than Light
oh
-
Get Dark Souls! OMG GET DARK SOULS! The challenge is just right, gameplay is fantastic, and there's a hundred ways to play the game. A huge variety of weapons, 3 different schools of magic, covenants, armor set mix and matching, and so many other things change the way you can play. After I had beaten it, I went right back and started a new game with a new build. It's the only game I can say that about in the last 5 years. It'll be the best $5 you've spent in ages if you're into anything associated with the action/rpg genre.

Numbers don't lie! Do it! Max out the Wanderer's starting equips and use the Wolf Ring to ensure you get the highest defense per weight yet still have the poise to avoid staggering! Boost Dex for insane scaling damage on your Balder side sword BUT DON'T TELL ANY1 U LEVELED THAT UP, YOU PRAISE THE SUN

Erm, can anyone else tell me if they can see the flash sale or not? Because I've shut down Steam and everything, but nothing has popped up at all; and it isn't showing the Community Vote either. (Though it did show what was up next, and I hope Gmod wins so we can finally get it nice and cheap.)
But yeah, can't see what's on Flash right now. (And about to go to bed, so I don't want to miss something I may be looking out for.)
-
I can't see the flash or community sale on my browser, alternate browser, or steam application.
EDIT: They're back now.
-
In case someone can't see still or whatever...err. this is canada soo..I imagine similar to US? dunno
flash:
spec ops the line : 80% off
rising storm goty edition -75% off
gone home 85% off
scribblenauts unlimited 75% off
community:
wasteland 2: 33% off
planet explorers: 40% off
just cause 2: 80% off
Risen Franchise pack: 75% off.
-
And I missed it. I missed my chance to pick up Spec Ops; Dormio saw it happen too. He left me a message on Steam, finally opened it, and as I went to click on it, it auto refreshed for the next batch of sales. ><
Well, Gmod made it onto the sale, so I can get that at least. :V
-
Get Dark Souls! OMG GET DARK SOULS!
After playing DS2, I can't go back, the controls were so wishy washy, it just hurts.

Pff, Wanderer's set... GIANTS, GIANTS, GIANTS! Become unstoppable!
Also: FTL is so addicting
-

I'll pick it up once it's featured in the daily deals. Also yeah, the kick/jump attack are so finicky that it makes me want to cry sometimes to the point I'll only try them when there's an immense amount of leeway.

The agility provided by lighter armor sets is totes legit, and Wanderer's tops that list. Giant's armor is fine but gimme some sweet dodge roll action any day. Paladin's/cleric's set is great for mid-range.

I got gmod awhile ago and it doesn't do @%#@#%... like every map I load is full of empty boxes saying does not have texture or something. I tried posting support on it but I never got an answer.
My best guess is that when they say you can only work gmod if you have certain games like halflife 2, counterstrike source, etc, etc...left 4 dead 2 is one of them. but that's the only game on their list I have and I suspect that while the game might LAUNCH if you have l4d2...it doesn't actually you know.. ever effing work at all.
oh yeah, and I can only see the first page in the map list, whenever I try switching to another page it just ends up saying there are none, as if after all these years there were only 9 maps/scenarios made for it.

If the Steam Sale wasn't enough, Sony's got their own summer sale going on. I don't know what's on PS4, given that I don't have one. Supposedly this is a weekly sale, so check back next Tuesday?
Assassin's Creed Liberation (PS3)
Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry (PS3)
OlliOlli (PSV)
CastleStorm (PS3/PSV)
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 (PS3)
Deception IV: Blood Ties (PS3/PSV)
Dustforce (PS3/PSV)
Dynasty Warriors 8 (PS3/PSV) (why the hell didn't you get this on Steam)
Escape Plan (PSV/PS4)
-
(why the hell didn't you get this on Steam)
Very questionable port that removed features like online multiplayer. <_<
-
Why port the PS3 version as opposed to the PS4 version anyway?
-
Final Fantasy III has a 33% discount again.
-
Final Bantasy, Rioshock and Tomb Faider are back on sale again~ :derp:
Next Car Game (HD Destruction Derby / FlatOut) is also on offer, though the game still has a lot of work going on.
Also, for anyone who hasn't experienced VVVVVV yet, or has and wants to share the experience with others, please vote for the Pixel Pack! For 60p, I'd gift that to anyone! (Also, so I can experience ESJ for roughly the same price~ :V )
-
Should I buy FF14 and Child of Light now or wait for better sales? Because 25% off for CoL doesn't sound all that appealing.
-

Considering it's a daily, I would be shocked if CoL got more than a 25% discount since it just came out.
-

Well you know, last-day blowout sales and stuff. Will it go even lower then?
-
First off I could be wrong, but I think that games usually get 2 prices during a Steam Seasonal Sale: the "regular price" (either no sale or the one it has most days) and the "Daily/Flash/Community price" (self-explainatory). If it makes the blowout sale I'd imagine it would have the latter price.
Honestly it's rare for a new game to ever get a high sale because the developers still want to make as much money as they can before market forces a permanent price change. For instance the sale immediately after it's release FFVII was regular price for most of the sale and dropped I think 25% at most. This sale I saw it for 50% iirc. So it takes time for a game to get a good sale on Steam; if you don't want to wait several months I would grab it now.
-
Echoing what Mime said. Once a product has hit the main sales, whatever price it sits it will be the lowest it'll go for that season. You'll have to wait for the next major sale season for a further price reduction; it's just the way it goes.
Newer games will always have very little in the way of discounts until they've been out for a few months. Nothing you can do about it, I'm afraid~
-
man I'd get FFXIV if it didn't cost me a monthly subscription >_>
-
Anyone else seeing Dragon Age at -125% at the moment?
Had to derp up sooner or later~ :V
-
Just checked. Yep it's in the negative.
-
Child of Light is probably worth the full price so any kind of discount should be taken advantage of, unless you already have a huge backlog.
-
Community voting is annoying me a bit; people be voting for FarCry 3 to go on sale again. Oh, and the latest pack option has three games I already have : Meat Boy, Hotline, and Impossible Game. So it'll get my vote as a recommendation vote, if anything. (Inb4 everyone votes for Dark Souls~ :V )
Otherwise, bring on the next Daily!

man I'd get FFXIV if it didn't cost me a monthly subscription >_>
I just saw that it's still on sale, and the first 30 days are free when you buy the game so feel free to try it and drop it.
-
For what it's worth, if you're not interested in endgame stuff you can easily get through most/all of the content of ff14 in 30 days of gameplay.
-
I think what I'm saying here is that I'm not gonna blow $15 on a game that I already have to pay more for if I actually do end up enjoying it. :V
-
I have yet to win a single vote where I would buy something if the thing I voted for won. I lost to pixel games every time, and the one time the side I wanted to win featured pixel games, I lost...
Mind you I kinda expected as much when the other side had borderlands 2, farcry 3's super dlc that supposedly is more popular than the base game, and skyrim...not sure if goat is a big seller or not.
Anyway I wanna buy spaz and it says sale ends june 30th. Does that mean I can still buy it on june 30th just in case it gets a bigger discount via a flash sale or something? or will I be crying noooo cuz the final day it will NOT be on sale at all?
-
So... Long Live the Queen just went on the Flash Sale...
I know there were some of you who got this when it came out. Do any of you recommend it? Sort of been thinking about it; throwing it on and off my wishlist all the time...

It's pretty good. It's not quite as actually reactive/open as it could be, but there's a lot of surprises and neat ideas and it's decidedly charming. For 2.50$ you could do way worse (would you believe the creator of Cafe-0 is trying to get it on Steam?)

just grabbed it.
Feel so patriotic now...
the title theme is our national anthem.

eeek, broforce on flash sale, yay, been waiting for that one, and was really bummed when it lost the community vote.
-
$5 of credit left. What should I get?
-
$5 of credit left. What should I get?
Half-Minute Hero the first is still like 2$
La-Mulana's 3.50$ I think?
Cook, Serve, Delicious! is like 4$
take your pick
-
So what'd everyone get?
Bioshock, 2, Infinite (I wasn't planning on getting 1 and 2, but at one point the pack was the same price as Infinite by itself)
Double Dragon Neon (Mostly nostalgia, mostly cause it's totally radical)
Eryi's Action (Main character looks like Marona)
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon (See Double Dragon Neon)
Guacamelee! (Luchador themed Metroidvania, sign me up!)
La-Mulana (Challenging critically acclaimed Metroidvania)
Spec Ops: The Line (I'm not usually for these types of games, but I had the check it out)
The Stanley Parable (It looks neat)
Super Meat Boy (I think I might be a budding masochist)
Transistor (The artstyle reminded me of Vanillaware and the gameplay looks fun)
Valdis Story: Abyssal Story (Another pretty Metroidvania)
Walking Dead: Season 2 (I didn't want to get it until all episodes were out and I could beat it in two days like the last one. Now I have to talk myself into not playing it until the last two episodes are out)
-
Skullgirls. That's it.
-
Here's what I picked up:
Agarest: Generations of War
Metal Slug 3
Epic Battle Fantasy 4
Game Dev Tycoon
Awesomenauts
FTL: Faster Than Light
Bastion
BattleBlock Theater
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
Child of Light
Transistor
To The Moon (it wasn't daily, flash or community vote but who cares)
-
My haul:
FTL
Terraria
surgeon simulator
Human Tanks I - War of the Human Tanks
Hexcells
One Way Heroics
KAMI
Original War
Long Live The Queen
Mount & Blade: Warband
Dungeon Defenders
-
Rogue Legacy, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Bioshock: Infinite's DLC, and DARK SOULS 2 OMG AND....
Who messed with these controls. Were they on drugs?! >:|
-
Battleblock Theater, Epic Battle Fantasy 4, Cloudbuilt, 99 Levels to Hell, and Drunken Robot Pornography.
...Huhn, wait, that seems really low, didn't I---oh right I picked up some extra copies of cheap games that I can give away/trade later~
-
I didn't get much, just broforce, spaz, and Civilization 5 complete.
Valdis story is good, I don't know if it's particularly pretty though, it's just kinda ok, and the character designs are pretty ick imo.. the MUSIC for it on the other hand, yep, effing pretty =).
There's a game on here I'm noticing that I wont name for fear of making the buyer feel bad. but I'm almost certain you could have played it for free on a web browser. I've notice several games actually that were originally flash based games on kongregate, and I find myself thinking such a game that was once free is odd to see for over 5 bucks on steam sometimes. Not sure if you folks know but maybe you wanna check out kongregate or armor games for more games, some quite good. I particularly like elona shooter and Monster's den, book of dread.
one game that was free on there that I saw on steam for quite a price last year or something was gemcraft.
-
Yeah, I know I could have played EBF4 for free, but I kinda wanted to support the developer, you know?
-
oh right I picked up some extra copies of cheap games that I can give away/trade later~
I thought about picking up a Cook, Serve, Delicious or two for exactly this but I didn't think of it until, like, last night so I didn't get to it.
-
BioShock franchise pack, Skyrim, and Arkham Asylum. Not much, but it'll keep me occupied for a while and I know I'll play them eventually so whatever.
plus i'm not actually allowed to play games now
or ever
-
There's a game on here I'm noticing that I wont name for fear of making the buyer feel bad. but I'm almost certain you could have played it for free on a web browser.
I'm fully aware EBF4 has a free version. That said, I specify 'free version' because there is a difference in content between free and paid versions, so yeah.
And as mentioned,
Yeah, I know I could have played EBF4 for free, but I kinda wanted to support the developer, you know?
This too. I can certainly think of worse ways on Steam to spend 5$

Humble Bundle just booted up a new bundle...
And it's a 2K one. Includes Bioshock 1, 2, and Infinite, XCOM Declassified and Unknown, Darkness II, Mafia II, and Spec Ops. (With more to add to the list next week.)
I'm sorry, Spec Ops for ?3 minimum? Looks like I finally get to play this game! I'd throw in more to get Infinite, but I'm unsure about XCOM Enemy Unknown. Does anyone round here recommend it? XD
-
Can't recommend X-COM: Enemy Unknown enough.
-
Also their current weekly bundle (https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly) has about two days left but I didn't notice it until last night - it is entirely worth it for getting big savings on Cinders alone, plus hey Antichamber for anyone still missing that.
-
Anyone know if the game of X-COM that comes with the bundle is just the base game or does it include everything? I'm assuming the former but if it included Enemy Within too it would be nice. And a real money saver.
-

Doesn't look like it. The DLC really rounds it out and while the two quick add-ons for unique characters are just OK, Enemy Within is fantastic. Skipping on mecha and gene modded soldiers, EXALT covert ops, and the Newfoundland mission isn't worth it. They all help build on original experience and play to the game's strengths. I think it includes the language voice pack, too, which sounds silly, but adds a lot of flavor to an international team. Anyway, I'd suggest picking up the original for this pittance (the core game is like $5 when on sale) and just wait for a full-blown sale to come along on Steam and pick up the rest then. In the meantime, you're going to want to get a feel for the game beyond the tutorial and learn just how important satellites and base building are before you really put your back into it, so fiddling with it now might be a fine idea. DON'T skip the full package, and I recommend stopping once the aliens start sending in anything beyond 3-4 hp mooks because Enemy Within puts in new stuff from the get-go.
-
Sony's having yet another sale this time around - 2 for 1 packs!

Donkey Kong Country 3D? That's what I ended up getting xD. I would have got Earthbound if I didn't already buy not even a week ago.
-
Donkey Kong Country 3D? That's what I ended up getting xD. I would have got Earthbound if I didn't already buy not even a week ago.
If you don't have DKCR3D and you have the option, you should get it. Even if you want Earthbound or something else, it's a free 40$ game (and a really, really amazing game)
-
So I decided to buy DKCR3D, but I don't have enough memory in my SD card to download it. After deleting some stuff, I can't even find where the hell the code is, and even then I still might not be able to download it. :colonveeplusalpha: I should have bought NES Remix instead...

Quakecon is here, and so is the usual id/bethesda sale on Steam. Oddly though, none of the Quake games seem to be on sale. Maybe they're up to something ?
-
The Humble Bundle has decided to open up a sale on Ubisoft titles for the weekend~ XD
They also decided to have Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed down to under ?4 for the next 16 hours. {Which I gifted to Puppy who felt lonely watching me blast through it with a friend of mine~ :V }
-
Sims 2 Ultimate is free on Origin with the code I-LOVE-THE-SIMS. The catch: Origin. :V
-
So Square is having a sale on PSN. Titles include all of the FF games save for XIII (oddly, XIII-2 and Lighting Returns are there; Dissidia and the Tactics games are there too), Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, and two other games; Front Mission 3 and Elevator Action Deluxe... whatever the hell those games are.
EDIT: Thanks for the bit on Front Mission 3, Reddyne. Probably not gonna get it myself, because too many tactical games on my backlog as it is, but it does look interesting.
-
Front Mission 3 was a great mech-themed turn-based strategy game. It has flaws, but it's probably the best in the series to my limited knowledge of it. The soundtrack is OK, the translation is mediocre (since all Square's translations were back then) but the gameplay, the types of mechs you could make, and what they were capable of doing was fantastic. The story and setting, plus the international political stuff that's going on helps make it more gripping, too. You might want to read up about the OCU and Sakata Heavy Industry's involvement in Huffman Island before you dip into that though. Anyway, it's real satisfying watching one of your characters bitch slap an enemy mech's arms off with a shield just before your flamethrower mech soaks it in 17 rounds of napalm. Give it a look.

So Square is having a sale on PSN. Titles include all of the FF games save for XIII
I think that's 'cause XIII isn't actually on PSN, only its sequels are.
But yes, for those who've been waiting to snag Square's PS1 collection or something, go nuts. (X/X-2 HD is on for like 15 or 20$ as well!)
-
Question: are the Vita ports of the PS1 FF ports (and Chrono Trigger) the same laggy pieces of shit that the actual PS1 ports were?
Because if they're not I'll be all sorts of over that.
Also Persona 1, 2: Innocent Sin, and P3P are on sale too. Thinking of getting 1 and 2 as well...
-
They still have the same crappy issues as the originals.
Which means skip Chrono Trigger, IV(if the PSX version is even on PSN), V, and VI. Origins is decent(best version of 1 to me since I think it's better balanced, though PSP has more content and is worth playing also).
So I'd only recommend Origins, Tactics, VII, VIII, and IX if you don't already have them on PSN and want them on PSN. The Anniversary editions of 1 & 2 are sadly not on PSN. Final Fantasy IV Complete is worth grabbing if you don't have it as well.
-
Steam has started a Comiket Sale (http://store.steampowered.com/sale/japaneseindiefestival) that looks like it'll be running for a week. Wonder if they're trying to catch Playism's attention with this ;)
From this sale, I enjoyed the Exceed games- 2 is an Ikaruga clone but much faster paced and 3 is more like touhou.

Yep... Humble Bundle are making sure to keep the wallets crying. A 2 week long Summer Sale has started in their store; with games rotating out every day~
*Picks up NiGHTS for old times sake*
-
Ever since we got our own Steam store. Our prices for most games are now 50% off or more.
Since Halloween sale is coming. I wouldn't mind buying games you guys like. Of course it's not for free. The catch is, you choose a game, I'll buy it if it's cheaper than your current store, and you pay me for a cheaper price than your store, but a bit higher than what I bought. Eg. Bioshock Infinite is $30 in US, and $15 at ours. I buy it, you pay around $20, and I trade/gift it to you.
I'm doing this, so I could also spend and save some money for games I also want on steam. :V
SO WHO WANTS CHEAPER GAMES!?
-
Wait, who got their own Steam store now?

Currently studying in PH. So yea, I'm in PH.
And yes, YJ, if you read this, I'm living a secret life. :derp:
Btw, I read, and someone told me that Payday is gonna be free on Steam tomorrow, just like L4D last Christmas. So better get crackin' and get yer free game. :yukkuri:
Ofc, it's still not official though. Will be waiting for the update at the News page.
-
Steam is dishing up 10 games that will be free to play till Sunday. As a result, you guessed it, the server has kind of slumped to a halt.
Anyone else can vouch for this? :V

Payday: The Heist will be free on 18/10 due to the Crimefest event.

EDIT: Apparently, they changed it to the 16th, which is today. So you might want to grab it now.

I can buy PayDay 2 for you guys, while it's on sale.
Ofc you'd have to pay me thru Paypal. But it'll be cheaper than the current US price.
Right now, the price is $7.49 in the US.
You guys can pay me $5 for it, though. That's $2.49 cheaper! :derp:

Humble Bundle is doing a cool Bundle right now, all the games are available to play right in the Firefox browser, in addition to the usual DRM free, Steam codes etc. There's even demos for everything right on the page (https://www.humblebundle.com/).
In-browser means literally any computer with a Firefox browser and good enough specs can play, which is a rather cool feat.
It has FTL in the bundle too for just the average (5 and a half bucks right now), and I can always recommend FTL, so it's worth a buy if you happen to not own it yet.
Less then a week left, so go get it.
-
Steam's Halloween Sale is on.
-
Metro 2033 is free for 21 more hours on the Humble Bundle site (https://www.humblebundle.com/store).
-
And now GoG is doing a Mount & Blade giveaway (http://www.gog.com/).
-
If no one has Worms Armageddon yet, I recommend you jump on this opportunity to get it, along with SEVEN other titles (https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly) (mostly worms related, but two are Superfrog HD, and Alien Breed Trilogy). The deal is $1 for these games, which is quite a bargain. Paying $6 will get you Worms Revolution, which has the best water physics to exist, and three other titles. Paying $15 will get you Flockers (a sheep puzzle game), and four copies of Worms Clan Wars, to gift to your friends. Normally, you'd be paying $269 for all these games, which is around 95% off.

If anyone still wants me to buy you guys cheaper games from steam. Just holler. Our steam store is cheaper.
-
Well, how muxh is the new Cherry Tree High for you?
-
Omg SO MUCH BLACK FRIDAY SALES ON STEAM!!!! Half of my wishlist has the steam sale on it, I'm so happy.~
-
Haven't seen many interesting posts yet. Rogue Legacy and Simcity 4 are probably my main "maybes" right now. I'd grab Divinity Original Sin if it was 75% off though.
And I'll just leave this link here in case some people don't know of its existence. http://steamdb.info/sales/
-
I bought a shiton of games:
1. 100% Orange Juice with the DLC
2. Cherry Tree Highschool set.
3. Shantae: Risky Boot's Revenge
4. Sakura Spirits
5. Science Girls
6. Risk of Rain
7. Terraria
8. QP Dangerous Shooting
9. Dust an Elysian Tale.
I need to decide which to play now since I'm doing so much at once and I'm stuffed from eating Thanksgiving food.
-
Personally I'd play Dust, then Shantae. :) Already own them myself and imo those are the best in your list. Terraria is also fun with friends.
Hee, Sakura Spirits. ;) I can't sit through VNs, else I'd try it.
-
Not enough money for this sale. I'll be ready for next time, though.

I wanna play Dust with a controller since I heard it's much better, and as for Shantae... I'll play that beat it and then go onto Shantae and the Pirate's Curse.
Also my confession: I'm a girl that bought Sakura Spirits so I can laugh at the fan service and plus... foxes.
-
I'm probably going to wait for the Winter sale, since the deals are probably going to be better and my backlog is bad enough as it is.
The Zen Pinball Humble Bundle is mighty tempting though.
-
Well, how muxh is the new Cherry Tree High for you?
Only a dollar cheaper. Lol. :derp:
Although the bundle for it is $2 cheaper.
-

Yes, foxes, they are great! :) If there was a bird girl then I would of been sold no matter what. ^^ Anyhow, I'm curious what you would think of Sakura now. I hadn't heard much good about it. Yeah, a controller is needed for Dust, I'd say. Hopefully you have an XBOX360+ controller (or a Logitech, those work nice too) or getting one soon. :)
I saw Awesomenauts up there, only $2.49. Might as well get it.
-

It's a dollar more expensive for me, so that's $2 already man. :V

Well the new Cherry Tree High isn't on sale. But it is clear that's it's a dollar cheaper than the usual US price. If you want I could buy it for you with $.50 off. :V
You want you can wait for Christmas Sale. Usually it has better sale prices. It might get a dollar more off! :derp:

Sakura spirits is CHOCK full of fanservice from what I watched on Youtube courtesy of the GameGrumps. My two friends online told me that it was full of fanservice but if you get lucky you get an emote for your steam or so I heard also I'll go for a Logitech controller since I believe I want Chantelise and Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale also for the ride when Steam's winter sales roll around.

There's a bunch of game at Steam being sold at a discount for... hum, about 24 hours before it ends?
I got One Way Heroic for about a dollar, it was worth it. :D
It's the kind of game you play and replay and replay again. ^^
FTL is on discount too. So is Road Not Taken. That one seems interesting but I'll have to try it to be sure. X D

Picked up Anno 2070 because I heard (and saw) it's a good combo RTS+city builder- http://store.steampowered.com/app/48240/
Haven't tried a city builder in years, and figured I'd try one that isn't Simcity for once. I was very pressed on getting Thief (2014) or Dishonored, but after watching gameplay they didn't really strike me as challenging stealth games.
-
Neither are challenging, but Dishonored (at least, can't say the same for Thief) is a lot of fun to play regardless.
-
Not PC, but Mirror's Edge is currently free on PSN until tomorrow night. I made sure to get it in my download history so I could download it later, but I'll actually ownload and play it at a later date cause.
It's not a Plus thing but available to all PSN users.

It's an EA thing(finally they're worth something).
Mirror's Edge is free for PS3;
Need for Speed: Most Wanted is free for PS Vita; and oh boy, what joy
Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare is free for PS4
I just got and grabbed all of them. It's only free for 24 hours.
You don't need to download it per se. Just go to the PSN store via browser, add to cart and checkout.
-
Gawd help us if it does, I will scream and flip a table.
Having watched the Game Grumps episodes as well as read some reviews, it probably doesn't have much in the way of story...if it does have much excitement to offer, then boy is it slow. Makes Persona 4's early pacing look rather quick in comparison.

Sad news. I think as of today, the new steam market, and store policy is now official.
Which means people here who buys games from me for cheaper value, either not buy at all, or wait for until next year(around January) before I can trade any of the games. And ofc...it's region-locked. http://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/2pjdwm/psa_all_games_are_getting_region_locked/
...and I bet no one would agree to that.
This pretty much pushes the last nail to my business' coffin. I already told off a lot of my buyers in other forums/boards.
Sad la. Lord Gaben has forsaken us. :qq:
-
They were under a lot of pressure by developers to make that change. It sucks, but I can kind of understand why they had to do it.

So apparently there's a certain indie-bundle that contains a bunch of games that haven't been able to make it through greenlight yet (https://groupees.com/bagb15), and I know that at least one of the games (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCNX5ue6VeQ) is really really good. Like with humble bundles, you can get the bundle for 1$ upwards, but you can pay more if you want to.
3 days remain for the bundle sale, so yeah. Maybe a bit late in terms of christmas presents, but eh, it's cheap. :V

Anyone with any commentary regarding FFXIII? I used to be a huge FF junky for a full decade and change but stopped when lolnomoney hit right after college. I understand the game has its downsides, but so long as it's a solid entry and not mired in gameplay and/or storytelling woes like 2 and 8 were it'll still be good enough for me.

The first game's not an instant classic by any means, but it's very solid overall.
I have my complaints about the series as a whole but they're all worth playing, especially at their current price.

It's pretty solid. XIII has I guess three things about it you should know.
The first is that it's unashamedly linear - it doesn't even pretend to distract you; if you go in expecting this, you'll be fine (there is a fairly open postgame but yeah).
The second is that gameplay wise it is more or less 'teaching' you for the first ~8 chapters of the game - mostly because after that it's going to take off the training wheels and punch you the fuck out if you haven't learned at that point.
The third is that technically you can beat a lot of the game just by sitting in COM/RAV/MED paradigm the entire time but it'll be boring as hell, and the more you try to optimize your play and actually make use of the engine the more fun you'll have.
Know those things going in and you'll probably like it a lot more.
-

I played it on the PS3. Don't believe the nuts who say FFXIII is the worst FF out there. It also was one of the best-looking games on the PS3 during it's release.
FFXIII is pretty solid, even though it's linear. Fair warning, as Garlyle said, unless you're in Chapter 9 and above, you're in for a steep enjoyment curve.
Once you get to Gran Pulse, it's a pretty sweet ride from there, you'll pretty much feel how an FF is supposed to be.
TBH, FFXIII had the best battle system I ever played, next to the Gambit System of FFXII.
It's probably the most adaptive battle system I've ever seen. One thing is, that it synergizes very well with the characters skills, and the monsters you fight. Every character is buffed by what paradigm they use.
Eg. fighting a Long Gui can go with different sets of paradigms. Mine ,with the highest damage hitters, in order from highest, Fang, Lightning, and Snow. One set routine I use is:
Sab/Sab/Sab
Syn/Syn/Syn
Sent/Sent/Sent
Med/Med/Med
Com/Com/Com
Com/Com/Com
Since you apply elemental advantage, you'll hit harder with COM than RAV. SEN provides a huge defense boost.
You could also use Vanille for Death spell. Ofc not all goes the same way, fighting Vercingetorix is another example how the battle system is better than traditional real-time ATB.
Do you know you could actually instantly fill up an ATB guage by switching to another Paradigm set once you executed an action? Eg. At COM, you attack, paradigm shift to another COM set, you can attack once again.
Although this only happens once after the other, basically every other turn. That's why I keep two sets of any Paradigm with the same role for various purposes(like the one above - 2 COM sets).
I can't really explain why I liked the game, but if it's to conclude. I didn't played it for the story, nor the characters, nor exploration(not really much there). I stayed for the Battle System. Which is fast-paced, and executed very well, I mean do you see how they move when they fight? Probably the most exciting movement you'll ever see in an FF game next to Dissidia(as much as I adore the Gambit System of FFXII. Standing and hitting something isn't really all that fun to watch, esp fighting high HP monsters like Yiazmat). Sure you can only control one character at a time, but it's more real-time than previous battle systems(except XII). Plus it shows how well you can adapt to controlling only a single character, and not relying entirely on your teammates.
Sad I can't say the same for the sequels. Sure, it has the same battle system, but the sequels ruined the story and the whole FFXIII in general. Although they added bit parts of exploration, and "Pokemon".
TL;DR: Buy it.

Sold! Thanks for the info, guys.

I've been thinking about getting Fairy Bloom Freesia for awhile, I keep seeing it recommended so I figure now is as good a time as any. I particularly like this review "A Story of a Fairy, her Forest and Everyone She Has Ever Punched in the Face"

Fairy Bloom Freesia is very good.. Also Recettear if you like its mishmash of styles.
Any other games in this batch came recommended?

It makes you so salty that you wish it was Dokapon Kingdom and Mario Party because it's THAT TRULY A @#$%.
Also Resident Evil 1 is on steam now, although some want 2 and 3 because I know one of my friends is a Resident Evil 3 fan.

I think everyone should play Fortune Summoners. It's a great game. Everything about it is good: the characters, the music, the levels, the difficulty. The only thing that really bugged me about it was how useless the adults and basically everyone who wasn't in the main party was. I mean it's basically a magical girl coming of age story so that's to be expected, but it still bugged me a little. But this is one of the few rare game where you can actually feel your characters getting stronger as the game progresses. When you start, you're barely able to swing that sword to fight some slimes on your way to school but by the end
you're storming your way through the dark witch's castle, fighting your way through legions of hellspawn.
And the ending itself is pretty heartwarming.

I got the game from the Fulgar Carpe collection I gotta say.... CUTENESS DIABETES EVERYWHERE!!! I love the game I even convinced some of my friends to get it since most of them had Chantelise and Recettear already which I wonder why both don't work properly on my computer but Fortune Summoners do. (Although I found some ways to fix those two)
-
Yeah Fortune summoners is a great game. Makes you feel like a very capable little girl in a very good non-pervy or cheesy way, makes you want a daughter right then and there =P.
I just hate how the game is so obviously intended to be the first part of a series that will never come... BAWWWWWW...Doesn't have a cliffhanger or anything at the end, but you just know it was meant to be bigger, and you'll WANT more for sure.
The control feels quirky and off but that's part of the challenge (it's subtle, IIRC it's just that actions take place on release rather than press, and movement has some acceleration/deaccel rather than turn on a dime type thing). It kinda makes the non-adult aspect feel more legit...Though the enemies are programmed to kill you. I mean they don't just move and attack randomly, they're devious, they'll play it safe, wait for you to make an opening, and then they WILL pounce on it.
-
Alright you lame-os. Prepare for one of the best games you'll ever play.

Neptunia Re;Birth 1 is finally out on Steam, hopefully all of the remakes will. This is a chance for those who doesn't have neither of the Sony Consoles, PS3 and Vita. Now's the time to buy it on Steam to play part of the Neptunia series.
If you're planning to play the original, then you need to buy it for the PS3. Which, IMO, be glad you didn't play the original. It was horrible, really, really horrible. But yea, since it was a J-game, I managed to mustered up and finish it anyways. The only worthwhile titles were the sequels, Victory being the best.
Anyways, Re;Birth is really a huge improvement from the original. Hopefully, Compile Heart is on the road of better ideas.
-
I know that a lot of you (with some reasonableness) believe that EA is the devil. Well, they're having sales on multiple platforms, including Titanfall for (I believe) less than ten bucks? Fifteen? Anyways, I picked up the Mass Effect 3 DLC for 50% off.
-
the new humble bundle sure is uh
interesting (https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly)
-
The fact that it's mostly visual novels, or the pidgeon pillow? Yes?
-
I'm not going to say anything about the pigeon body pillow... especially when one of my friends have actually bought the damn thing~ :V
Still, $1 for Long Live the Queen... fricking yes~
Also, Ticket to Ride is 50% off on Steam too, for those who like simple, train-tooting tabletop games~ ^^
-
Thank You Humble Bundle, for tempting me to buy your bundle of all the games there that I already have, just for that pillow.
-
I don't know what surprises me more - that it exists, or that it's the Yetee that's making them.
-
I'm not into pidgeons, I am however into Christine Love.
..Oh, and her video games. It comes with the soundtrack for Hate+ which is six bucks on its own. :*

Some of the game on discount are "I have no mouth and I must scream" and "System Shock 2"

Moar Visual Novels on Steam guys.
When a company releases both a physical console and digital version. A guy like me spends twice or more when the physical version has an f-in limited edition...welp, Then again, I usually buy Steam games when they're on sale. So I probably won't buy the Steam version just yet if the Vita version is physical.

I'm more hype for Ys 6: Ark of Napishtim coming to Steam in the coming days myself.
-
EDIT: how the heck did I post this in the wrong thread.
Anyway. Amnesia: memories is an otome game, right?

I THOUGHT I saw something about that! I totally will need to get my hands on it probably. I played some of it at a friend's house(they have the ps2 release), so I know I will still prob. like it as usual with Ys. I will also be slaughtered over and over again, but alas.

I'll pass on this one for now. I'm not really a fan of dakis. Me buying that pigeon pillow case off Humble Bundle, was really just for laughs.
Plus, compared to HDN: Goddess Black Heart's LE contents, this one is a bit inferior. Considering it's an action game, you'd expect better contents than a CD track and a Daki.
Maybe I'll buy it on a future date of Amazon, just for the sake of collecting.
-
If I knew more about HDN I'd totally get that; the daki looks like a great wall hanging item. Also if it were for the PS3 of course sicne I do not nor will I ever own a Vita, but alas.

You can buy the Re;birth games off Steam during sale if you can't buy pre-used Neptunia games off the internet or gamestop.
You don't really need to play the first game since all of them are little to not related at all to one another. They all happen in different dimensions(universe) from one another. With Victory(Re;birth 3), only probably connecting to Mk2 to some extent. Also, unless you're a guy like me who likes to hypercomplete games and trophies, I really, really don't recommend you playing the very first Neptunia game. Re;births are the remake of the PS3 games, they're superior than their PS3 counterparts.
-
Oh good, I disliked some things from the first one I read about(can't directly control use of healing or something IIRC was my biggest pet peeve), so if that's recitifed I can finally get into it like I meant to before. I'll have to look once my backlog dwindles a little bit...

Man, that sale looks awesome; good number of games I'd like there. Such a shame that it plain doesn't exist in the UK; as in, none of those games are on sale here. Yay~ >>
-
I took advantage of that sale enough to save money after buying a ps+ subscription for the first time... That being said, one game I got is demon gaze, and I absolutely love it. If you like Etrian odyssey, get demon gaze. It's not similar like torchlight is to diablo 2, but it certainly has alot of the good qualities. I particularly feel like money is more important and valuable, and shopping is more interesting due to money restrictions so far...I just wish some of the music didn't have vocaloids in it. I mean some people may like that but... ehh. Also, it's not related to the sale but it would fit in with it, Tales of Xillia 2 is on amazon for a cool 30bucks canadian with free shipping, hard to go wrong there IMO.
-
I have not touched a digital game in 2 years now, I think. Jeebus, I rly need to buy something, and PS+ again.
I'm always the guy who "likes physical copies over digital ones, so I can collect them. But if it doesn't have a physical copy, but a digital instead, I'll buy it probably later...some time soon."

What's the difference between the Dreamcast and PS2 version?

All this for $8 is very tempting... (https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly)

I know the PS2 version was laggy as hell in some places. That's about it for what I know.

Yes. It is therefore region-locked, and even if I was able to purchase it, I would have completely boycotted it.

Baby steps, my friend.

Don't forget Crimzon Clover: World Ignition (http://store.steampowered.com/app/285440/) and its new DLC (new arranged soundtrack and superplay replays with commentary PDFs) are 70-80% off! Seriously if you have any interest in shmups you owe it to yourself to get this game.
NOTE: Steam seems to be acting up atm, so check the link later.
EDIT: Steam seems to be working again, and I edited the % for accuracy.

Hyperdimension Neptunia: Rebirth 2 (http://store.steampowered.com/app/351710/?snr=1_7_15__13) is out on steam starting at 50% off until June 5 and it has 5 $0.99 DLCs that come with it so, get it while it's hot.
Edit: Also there's 5 new DLCs for Neptunia Rebirth 1: 3 being character DLC and the other two is Additional Content 1 and 2 all for $0.99. There's an additional 3 free content also if I may add.
