So... My gf just received my recently bought Xbox 360 and some games... All of them are RPGs =P
Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Fable 2, Infinite Undiscovery, Star Ocean 4 and Tales of Vesperia
Am I missing any amazing RPGs?
Other than that we also got Burnout Paradise because it came with an extra controller, and an HDMI cable... for less than the single controller would cost me :P
i like other kinds of games, but it was like this with my PSX and PS2.. I only ended up playing my RPGs and since they already took a lot of my time, I didn't have any interest in playing other games..
So, what else do you guys recomend?
And not games I can play on my pc.. I already have Fallout 3, Last Remnant... =)

Fallout 3.
-
I have it for the pc... it's written there =P
-
Mass Effect
(first thing that popped into my head. im not an RPG kind of guy though)
-
Haven't played Star Ocean 4 yet.
Vesperia is pretty good but completely pointless to buy on 360 because the PS3 version will be better in every way. The heroine sucks, but the hero more than makes up for it.
Eternal Sonata is mediocre.
Blue Dragon is forgettable.
Infinite Undiscovery is awful.
-
Lost Odyssey? I heard that the gameplay sucked but the story and music is EXTREMELY AWESOME

PS3 fanboy =/

PS3 fanboy =/
I own both systems, and I own Vesperia for 360. Go away and come back when you learn that the PS3 version really is superior. I'm not making things up here.

I don't own shit I also have 2 consoles Wii and Xbox but the Xbox is better =/
-
ah well i'll never have a PS3 anyway
why is vesperia so much better on the PS2?
-
I've never even seen a Ps3 in real life. Let alone played one.
Blue Dragon is forgettable.
What was with all the hype that surrounded this series?
Was just another jojo/db rip.
Give me Dragon Pink over Blue Dragon any day.

Metric ton of new stuff. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_of_Vesperia#PlayStation_3_Enhanced_Port) Additionally, since it's on PS3 the chances of it being dual-language for the localization is extremely high.
-
If you really, really want I can list every new thing for Vesperia that has been announced for the PS3 version so far. Just take my word for it that it's a shitton of stuff.
But play it anyways because it's great.

# New Skits
I swear I read new skirts =P
-
Well, there were some swimsuit costumes just announced...
-
I'd recommend Lost Odyssey, if only just for the A Thousand Years of Dreams. Those short stories are just so beautiful, and tear-jerking. I swear, that was the only time I actually cried while playing a video game.
Anyways, on the off-topic topic of Tales of Vesperia, I gotta say that the addition of Patty makes me want to get the game again, along with a PS3. Though I don't think, and correct if I'm wrong, but the game has yet to be announce for a localization in North America, or Europe, and Namco has kept some Tales of games as Japan exclusive (ToS' PS2 port, and ToH spring to mind), so it gets me wondering if they'll even localize it.
-
Most of the Tales games are japanese only.
-
Phantasia isn't. PSX Destiny isn't. Eternia isn't. Symphonia isn't. Legendia isn't. Abyss isn't. Vesperia isn't. Radiant Mythology isn't.
Symphonia 2 isn't.
But stuff like Hearts, Destiny R and Rebirth are, and those are great.
Ps3 Vesperia is on the verge of being confirmed for NA as well. There are english voices and descriptions hidden in the demo.

The Ring of Doom Saga

Don't forget about Destiny 2, although the Destiny remake pretty much retcons the entire game. : S
-
I didn't like Destiny 2 so yeah. I meant the really good ones that weren't brought over.
-
The 360 needs some good tactics RPG action ala Fire Emblem or FF Tactics.
-
I realized that these days there are more JRPGs on Xbox's than on PS3's and also PS3 is getter more non-JRPGs

Yeah, seriously, fuck Namco for not making the 360 version dual-audio.
I would have bought a 360 for the sole reason that Nakahara is the main heroine in Vesperia...
But no, dub only. Well, whatever, most 360 RPGs do in fact blow anyway.
In the end, it's better because I get to hear Nakahara on a console I actually already own - in a substantially enhanced game, at that.
Also the sole redeeming feature of Star Ocean 4 is the ridiculously awesome normal battle music. Best song Sakuraba's done since 2003.

Failtech.
DVD =~ 9 gigs
Blu-ray >= 25
-
ah well im happy i have 9 RPGs to play :P
-
Eh. where is it said that tales of vesperia is coming out to NA for ps3? I read that it is Japanese only.
-
So far it's only been confirmed for Japan, but considering the nature of the game, it's sales in NA, the sheer amount of extras being put in among other things, it's extraordinary likely that it will reach over here.
Oh did I mention that there was hidden content in the japanese demo on PSN that confirmed english translations?
-
I haven't played any tales games since the snes one that never really got translated.. tales of phantasia I think.. I believe it was special cuz it was the only snes cartridge with 64 megs or something (or was that terranigma? I forget.. oh well).
ANYWAY. I found it to be kinda interesting. But overall I didn't really enjoy it terribly so.
Any other suggestions which tales game I should try out to reintroduce myself to this series? I generally like console rpgs alot, so I'm open to discovering a new one >=).
-
Tales of the Abyss is the best Tales game.
Use a FAQ.
-
I wouldn't say best, but I agree that Abyss is probably a good introduction to the series, aside from the utterly broken battle system later on. I would say Symphonia as well bcuz i luv it, but it's honestly pretty groan-inducing and Phantasia was sakjgfkjsdagfagd so it's really no wonder you didn't like it.
Do you have a japanese PS2? This is of utmost importance because then suddenly Rebirth and Destiny PS2 become factors which are pretty much the gods of the Tales games.
