(Just drawing attention to the pre-existing thread; this board is probably the better place for it.)

Understood. I expect the two userbases are probably sufficiently different anyway that it's worth having a note in both boards.

Yeah, I reckon so, too, now that I think of it. That said, I'll copy my post from the previous thread here:

Huh. Usually English patches run just fine for me, but I have the fully updated version of TD and, after patching (which went with no errors), th13e.exe just hangs for a long time, before finally opening, unpatched. The error I get running the game in Terminal is:

fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation (nil) 1 (nil) 0
fixme:dwmapi:DwmEnableComposition (0) stub
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x32e6b8,0x00000000), stub!
fixme:d3d:WineD3D_ChoosePixelFormat Add OpenGL context recreation support to SetDepthStencilSurface
fixme:dsalsa:IDsDriverBufferImpl_SetVolumePan (0x153bb0,0x153810): stub
err:xrender:get_xrender_format_from_color_shifts No XRender format found!
fixme:d3d:WineD3D_ChoosePixelFormat Add OpenGL context recreation support to SetDepthStencilSurface
fixme:win:WINNLSEnableIME hUnknown1 (nil) bUnknown2 1: stub!

Not exactly sure what's going on. I have no issues running the Japanese version.

What does the log say?  You can find it in ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/profiles/<USERNAME>/Application Data/Gensokyo.org/th13e.log or something like that.

The only thing I can figure that would cause this to happen while still having the patcher succeed without errors would be if the ReadProcessMemory() function wasn't working properly.  Perhaps try a different version of WINE and see if that fixes the issue.

EDIT: Alternatively, see if there's some setting somewhere that would disable debuggers, since ReadProcessMemory() is apparently implemented using debugging functions.

Excellent job, as always. It's a little disorienting to have a different font than was used in the past who knows how many games, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Is it just me though, or does Reimu sound extra jaded in this game? She's basically saying to Futo "no no no, don't resurrect. >:|"

I already did that long ago :V Should I re-apply the patch or something?

Well, either the update didn't take for some reason, it got reverted somehow, or your game got corrupted and needs to be reinstalled.

EDIT: Tengukami: If you're still having issues, try replacing th13e.dll with this (http://mralert.bumbleb.ath.cx/random/th13e.dll).  This version uses a different method for reading and writing memory.

Yep, that did the trick. English patch is working fine now. Thanks!

I found a grammar error in case noone's reported it yet. With Reimu, while facing Yuyuko, she says:

"by getting these spirits get so riled up"

I decided to re-apply the patch and... wow, it works. I guess it did just get reverted somehow, it was probably the Ultra patch.

Installed the patch and everything is working well. Many thanks to everyone that worked on it!

I've only encountered one odd situation. Spellcards already unlocked in Spell Practice prior to the patch will have their names jumbled up with a bunch of random characters. However, this fixes itself by encountering the spellcard within the game itself again. Just enter each card's challenge and then back out.

It's a minor issue, but disquieting the first time you see it.

That happens with every game, the first time you install an english patch.

It's even mentioned on the page where you download the patch.

Found another grammar error (not sure if you guys care or not about small grammar errors, but I'll mention it just in case). Sanae says to Yuyuko "suddenly starting gushing about everywhere".

Also, I think she calls Miko "Shoutokuou" instead of Shoutoku, not sure if that's just an alternate spelling or not.

what do you mean you haven't 1cc'd lunatic

Code: [Select]
7,人は私を聖徳王と呼ぶわ
17,聖徳、王!?

Yep, Shoutokuou is correct. I dunno if anyone ever uses 'emperor' to refer to a prince, or it was a pun on 聖德王 who was
Korean

I decided to wait for the English patch to minimize the amount of times I need to play against Yuyuko. Don't worry though. I've done it now and it took one attempt too so I guess my plan worked.
