Let's build a kitchen, and reserch create gems.
Gotta increase income.
Let's build a kitchen, and reserch create gems.Thirded.
Gotta increase income.
or when you cast the ?Win Game? spell, allowing you to beat the crap out of the fool responsible for this thread and secure your happiness at your leisure.
I think we can all agree about what we're going for here.:ohdear:
That said, I'd only like to suggest changing research to 'Create Wood' As everything we can build requires wood and we're in trouble if we run out, and we've no devil on builder atm.Builder is currently a nameless devil. If you increased her level by giving her a name she would almost certainly start producing wood, though that spell would require you to think up a name.
I say we cast a spell to get the builder a name.
Vote Sakaki.I'm fine with anything so I'll second this.
Let's build a kitchen, and reserch create gems.I agree but it is preferable to build a Forge instead of a kitchen.
Gotta increase income.
So it's build kitchen and make Mai name a devil Sakaki (Hey wait, didn't Devils already have names?) so far.I think we should go for wood. Best to build up some more building materials first.
For the research I say create gem. Any objections?
(Hey wait, didn't Devils already have names?)
You know, if Mai names a devil we could name another Devil using our mana.Sadly your Mana amount is the ambient magic of the area. It doesn't really matter which one of you casts the spell, since the area won't be able to support a working of that magnitude again this week.
Sadly your Mana amount is the ambient magic of the area. It doesn't really matter which one of you casts the spell, since the area won't be able to support a working of that magnitude again this week.
You've heard of ways of using Makai's miasma to increase the amount of ambient magic in an area, but that's in a field of magic you and Mai know nothing about. Maybe sometime in the future you'd know what you'd need to begin attempting such a feat.
Mai gave Yuki an odd look.Spells:
Yuki shrugged in reply. "You're the demonologist. You cast the spell."
"Fine." Mai finished the chalk circles then unleashed the magic. She then fixed her eyes on the devil who wore a laborers kimono (only half on of course) and an assortment of salvaged tools. Reality cracked then reformed.
"Your name is Sakaki," stated Mai, seconds before the devil caught her in a flying hug that took them both to the ground. Mai's squawk of protest was cut off by the devil kissing her.
When Sakaki tried the same move of Yuki the fire magician deftly dodged and held her at arms length. "Glad you like it."
"Aw, Miss Yuki.... Can't I give you the thank you kiss?"
"No."
Yuki yawned and got out of bed. She got dressed, then unlocked the door. She'd learned that was the only way to keep her new retinue from "having bad dreams" and trying to sneak into bed with her.
As she began working her way towards the new kitchen she saw several of the little devils out in the yard, playing with a pinata. She frowned and went to look for Alouette.
Yuki found the maid devil at the front door keeping an eye on the proceedings. "Is there some sort of holiday?"
Alouette jumped, then turned and bowed. "Oh! Ms Yuki. No that's a thief Bodyguard caught. We were teaching him a lesson."
Yuki considered the matter for a moment, then decided things here didn't need her supervision. Coffee was far more important. "Well, keep up the good work. And if it dies toss it in the new ice room."
"As you command Miss Yuki!"

If we're naming the scientist, I call it Ponder Stibbons
Can we ask Mai to cook dinner tonight, or do we not have enough food? You have plenty of food, in fact more then you can eat and sell. However, while Mai's cooking isn't fatal Chou is superior to her in all the culinary arts. Also Chou likes cooking.
How far away is Patchy's deadline anyway? The contract was for a year and a day. You've spent six months mucking about so you have until week 26 to finish that research and get an extension.
If we're naming the scientist, I call it Ponder StibbonsThis is the name that succubi will carry for all eternity. They will react to that name appropriately.
The contract was for a year and a day. You've spent six months mucking about so you have until week 26 to finish that research and get an extension.
Name it Kouko.
This is actually worse than I thought. Dear gods.Since none of you have done any research on lesser devils before this the first paper shouldn't be hard. However it is good to think about it. Future papers (should you actually be forced to write them before beating the game) will be more difficult, as you'll have cleared through the obvious and easy stuff.
The contract was for a year and a day. You've spent six months mucking about so you have until week 26 to finish that research and get an extension.So... We blew off six months of research before the game started?
So... We blew off six months of research before the game started?
So... We blew off six months of research before the game started?Getting 20 succubi moved out of the slums and into your home is not an easy task. As much as you'd LOVE to blame Mai for slacking, most of the first 6 months were acquiring basic rooms for everyone.
Getting 20 succubi moved out of the slums and into your home is not an easy task. As much as you'd LOVE to blame Mai for slacking, most of the first 6 months were acquiring basic rooms for everyone. At least we have a good excuse.
At least we have a good excuse.Tell that Patchouli.
I agree with building the Study and all the write-in actions except for telling Mai to make dinner. Thirding the name suggestion Kouko for the scientist. Don't start Research for Patchouli yet unless we finish the two spells we're already working on.
Nix the Mai dinner. Seriously, we have someone better -already doing that-.Yeah, this, pretty much.
>Eskarina.Sure. Change my vote too.
We really should finish mastering our spells before we get to Patchy's research, but the Study-building plan should still commence. The Research for Patchouli is the reason why we have to improve our Research, isn't it?
And I second the idea of the Bartender preparing drinks for the Dancer's show. It'll give them both something to do, and drinks will certainly uplift some mood. We should just be careful not to drink any our self - we ARE living with a bunch of Succubi. Why not adding Waitress and Butler and let the four arrange a weekly "after work party"?^^
The Research for Patchouli is the reason why we have to improve our Research, isn't it?Yes. But we've got like 26 weeks, and dividing up research without finishing things just slows everything down without helping. Also, we shouldn't really bother assigning exact numbers, since we don't know how much research it takes to learn the spells, except that we're at least halfway done with the two we started.
I don't say that we should focus on it C.Gems 60, C.Wood 30 and R.f.P. 10 will do.
Yuki focused on the glasses wearing devil in front of her. Reality warped and she saw the devil's true name and grasped it. "I name you Eskarina!"Spells:
The devil blinked. "Is that a Prachett reference?" Then she shrugged and readjusted her glasses. "That's fine. It's still pretty."
"Better then what Mai was suggesting," Yuki muttered. "Anyway I know Koakuma's the librarian devil, but can you help with research?"
Eskarina nodded. "A little. Once we get battieries or other higher technological pieces I can also make toys and tools. In fact I can already think of a special item that would help you and Mai relax a bit more. Alone or together...."
Yuki shook her head quickly. "Um, I think I'll prioritize your research, okay! Let's stick to more productive items for now."
"As you wish Ms Yuki."
Sakaki smiled as she looked at the study. Even if she wanted her mill up and running earlier she was proud of the work she'd done. Especially since she'd left room both for future house expansions and for study extensions.
"Meow."
Sakaki turned to find a black cat looking down at her from a nearby tree. "Ah! Did you get stuck up there? Let me help you."
The small devil reached out to get a hold of the cat and help it down. Just as she got withing range she noticed it had two tails. The beast opened it's mouth wide and bit down on her hand.
The next few seconds had the devil flailing about wildly until the cat decided to let go. It then darted into the mansion.
Inside the study Yuki sighed as the crashes and yells began.

I should have seen that coming when naming the devil Sakaki really :P.I rolled two events. Both involved cats. There was only one acceptable target.
That 75 research; is that the amount of points in it, or the completion percentage? I assume the former. Do w know how many points we need to pour into it to finish it?That's the number of points put in. You think you'll know when you break the halfway point, but beyond that it's guesswork.
Also I guess forge should do, actually can we use our special action to make one of the Devils or Mai to build something? You can ask them to build things, but buildings are beyond the scope of what they can do (Ferra and Sakaki can only do so much in a week) and currently you have limited tools.
:ohdear:I swear to god if some devil doesn't end up with a Goa'uld name, I'm locking this thread and handing out probations like M&Ms.
A question, Iced, where are you getting your random events from? (Note that a perfectly acceptable answer is "None yo bidness").I've started with the Maid RPG charts, though I tweak them to fit my personal desires. That should keep me going for a while.
Also: May a devil do a special action and still use their weekly ability, or do we have to pick one or the other? The bonuses you see on the devil list are innate qualities. Special actions are separate, so you can use both. When you give a devil who has a unique special action a name that'll go into the Special actions menu like the "Dance Party" did.
Name the Masseuse Hathor.Hathor? No girl want to be named after a cow even if said cow is a goddess. I think Circe fits better.
Hathor? No girl want to be named after a cow even if said cow is a goddess. I think Circe fits better.Look at you, a pathetic creature of meat and bone... (http://stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Hathor)
I'd say we should look into naming our masseuse around 50% stress, Yuki should be able to hold off until that long. Instead, name our architect, to see if that unlocks more buildings.Afterwards, our stress will still likely be on an average rate of increasing, it is NOT a good idea to simply let it get high before we start worrying. About the architect, we still have plenty of good stuff to build, so we can wait another week or so.
How do we unlock new buildings? So the forge is for unlocking the mill, but how are other buildings unlocked, and just what are other buildings?Sadly most of this is guesswork. You've never built a manor before.
I am assuming even moderate amounts of stress are going to screw us up.It's entirely possible to gain 75% stress in a single action. A very very stupid action. But possible.
Name the Masseuse Helepolis because
:helepolis:
Didn't the masseuse try to feel Yuki up at the party, thus adding stress? Relying on her to completely EASE stress, especially stress she caused, seems iffy. But eh, I'll go with it.Well theoretically its her literally her job to reduce people's stress, so even if she does try something she'll probably do more good than harm.

and lets assign Farmgirl to do some gardening.Seconded. It'll give her something to do until she gets a name.

By suggested, I don't mean "WE ARE DOING THESE GOGOGO", but rather they are ideas for yalls to ratify or deny as you like. This is why I should read things more closely. :derp:
But if we do get seven specials a round, we should try them at this point, stress be damned.Wisdom here. :)
No need to go overboard and cause a chain of events that will inevitably result in Yuki being found hanging from the ceiling fan by a noose around her neck with a tear-splattered note laying nearby.
Yuki completed the now familiar ritual. "I name you Helepolis!"Spells:
Helepolis looked confused for a moment. "Where did you get that name from?"
Yuki pondered the matter for a moment. "No clue."
"Oh well. It isn't terrible." The devil gave itself a once over seeming both relieved and dissapointed that nothing about it's lithe form had changed. "Anyway, I'm specialized in helping people relax and feel better. And realignment if anything's dislocated."
Yuki frowned. "You aren't going to try to squeeze my breasts again are you?"
Helepolis shook her head. "Not on the job! I'm a professional, and we've got enough bad publicity in the field. Though if you ask me to...."
Yuki shook her head. "That's fine."
"Wait does that mean that when you aren't on the job...?"
"Please let me squeeze your boobs!"
Yuki awoke in a cold sweat.
She wasn't sure what had caused this feeling of unease, but she knew something was wrong. It wasn't just the thunder either. There was a magic at play here. One that didn't belong.
She quickly grabbed a robe and burst into the hallway looking for the source of her disquiet. There was nothing other then the pounding rain.
The devils should still be up and about. They needed less then half the sleep of a human, and they staggered their rest hours.
Yuki flew down the short hallways pausing when she saw a crumpled devil on the ground. It was Ferra, her eyes were shut and she was mubling feverishly to herself, as if she was trapped in a nightmare.
Yuki's investigation was cut short by a scream, then the sound of Mai's ice barrage going off in the kitchen. Yuki rushed to the scene to find her friend battling a shadowy figure while standing over the shattered remnants of a crude barricade. Obviously one of the devils had countered the silence that had prevented Yuki from hearing the battle before.
As Mai's precision attacks kept the monster at bay Yuki called upon her own powers. With a twist of her hand the figure exploded into a pillar of flame, which refused to die down for a full minute.
When the flames cleared the ghost was gone, as was the bad feeling.
Mai gave Yuki a nod of thanks before moving to help Marie with the few devils that had been injured. Yuki just shook her head in frustration. "What terrible luck."
Then she headed back into the mansion to get everyone together. She'd thank them for their help again, then work on getting morale back up.

What does the Planar Portal spell do?According to your text it allows for transportation between magical realms

Also, I'm suggesting that we should get Marie to put together some kind of First Aid class for the devils to make them a bit more competent if the mansion is attacked again.Actually Marie's already done that, which is why minor injuries no longer bother your devils.
I am against Charm for now; naming is more useful, and we don't need another morale hit.Agreed.
Also, it might be useful to send Marie into town for some books to expand her medical practices since we don't have a library yet.Book hunting will be more effective after you get the library actually, as you'll be able to store more books. Right now the people you send out are guessing which book is most valuable and acquiring that one. When you have the library you'll be able to buy carts of books and review them later.

Sakaki | Builder | 2 | +50 wood |
Yuki looked down at the devil. The little draftsdevil still had her left arm in a sling, and she jumped at the slightest noise recently. "You sure this is a good idea Mai?"Spells:
Mai nodded. Yuki could tell her friend was certain.
Yuki sighed. "Alright. Let's do this then..."
The lines flowed with power and Yuki's vision once again gazed on the formulas of reality itself. "Your name is now Apophis!"
The devil blinked then slowly smiled. "I feel... powerful...." She pulled her arm out of the sling and smiled even wider as she moved it about. "Really powerful! Ehehe, ahahaha. Ahahahahahaha!"
Yuki rolled up some research notes and smacked the little devil upside the head. "Get a grip. You're an architect succubus, not a demon god."
Apophis rubbed her head sheepishly. "Sorry Miss Yuki.... But thanks for naming me! I'll see how I can help you and my sisters."
Yuki sighed as OL took the last pile of forms away. They'd just managed to get the mansion back to order. She and Mai had managed to get a little done, but not as much as she would have liked.
There was a knock on the Study door. "What now?"
Alouette steped in and bowed. "Lady Yuki, we have guests."
Yuki blinked. "Er, who is it? It's not those crazies from Gensoukyo again right?"
Alouette shook her head. "It's Lady Shinki and her retinue."
There was a crash as Yuki fell out of her chair. "What!?" The magicain stood up and ran to the small sitting room (that had been doubling as a dining room). Sure enough sitting there was the goddess of Makai and her maid Yumeko. Waitress was serving them some tea.
"Um, er Lady Shinki! What brings you to our home?" Yuki asked.
Shinki smiled and waved. "Oh, Yuki! I heard you'd had some problems so I decided to drop by and make sure everything was okay. That isn't a problem right?"
"Of course not!" Yuki said as Yumeko glared at her. "We're happy to have you drop by. We've fixed most of the problems from last week, but it's nice to know someone's looking after us."
"Well even if these devils are among the least of my children, they're still my precious creations." Shinki smiled. "But please, sit. And tell us what you have planned for the future...."

Set the merchant out to buy wood, maybe she can get it on the cheap.I agree with all of this.
Accountants are renowned for having one of the highest rates of alcoholism by career in the world.Oh man, I totally agree with this. :3
Seems to me a cocktail party hosted by the waitress is in order.
Also, I recommend naming the Explorer, and sending her out to explore. This, cause we will run out of wood soon, if she don't find a forest.
By the way shouldn't our max moral be on 95 by now?Fixed....
We might want to have Sakaki also preside over that farm building, unless I'm stupid and she's a part of it by default. You're not stupid, but she is required to build things. As is Ferra. However that's an innate quality that doesn't require special action.
* Naming:I'd say that these are good ideas because Ruby might be able to randomly find some other things while looking for a forest and we need wood badly, so the Merchant is an obviously important choice as well.DoraRuby the Explorer
- Ruby -> Find some shit, forests probably a good target
- Bartender/Waitress -> Cocktail Party
- Helepolis -> Pressure point class
- Merchant -> Buy wood
- Cassia -> Go over finance records
- Bodyguard -> Self-defense lessons
As for Helepolis and Bodyguard, we might be able to merge the two lessons into one because pressure points could be used to take down an intruder as well as any moves Bodyguard knows. There's only so much you can learn in a week of study. These devils are low end power wise, and ranged combat is still their (and Makai's) prefered style. They'll need to master physical combat 101 before they'll be pulling off any pressure point attacks.

They'll need to master physical combat 101 before they'll be pulling off any pressure point attacks.Ah. Okay then, the lesson should still be useful even if its just that.
Also Bodyguard's not really a close combat specialist either. She can still teach the other devils how to take a fall or escape to range of course.
What can we do as Yuki aside from naming a devil? Anything?Pretty much. You're a magician with a mastery of fire magic and transmutation. Your specialty is in attack spells and nuanced alterations of materials. You're slightly weaker then say... Marisa in terms of power and skill, but you heal faster.
Sorry, I meant to ask how many actions we get per week.Ah! Well you're awesome (and gaining stress like mad) so you cast spells on the list, order everyone else around and still perform one special action a week.
Hereby suggesting we drop Helecopter's class and go with the seven other Special Actions detailed above.Agreed. We'll have to level up more.
If Helepolis ain't teaching, we ought to have her ministering Yuki's stress.I agree with this too. If anything, we should more or less have one every week the way things have been going.
Does getting a massage not count as a Special Action?Seems that it does.
Then we'd need to drop something else in favor of the massage. (Probably the self-defense class.)
Farmhand | 1 | Income +15, +5 to all other income sources. |
Yuki glanced at the devil in the circle then frowned. "Why do you have a whip?"Spells:
The nameless devil shrugged. "It's generally useful."
Yuki considered the matter for a moment. "I thought you'd want something like a sword. After all exploration's mostly about hacking your way through the people who set up shop in the ruins right?"
The nameless devil shook her head. "Oh no. In the outside world it's about careful supply preperations and avoiding natural hazards. But I can do both styles."
Yuki shrugged and started the spell as normal. As reality warped she proclaimed, "Your name is Ruby!"
Ruby smiles brightly. "Great! I'm ready for anything!"
"Good then you can find a us a forest."
Ruby nodded and grabbed a flamboyant hat. "Right, then I'm off."
The devil suddenly kissed Yuki on the lips then ran for the door. "For luck!"
Yuki blinked for a few moments then swore. "Damn! I shouldn't have left my guard down."
There was a knock at the study door. Yuki looked up as Alouette entered.
"My Lady, we have a petitioner."
Yuki sighed. "Door to door salesman? Does it look edible?"
Alouette shook her head. "Adventurer my Lady. He claims we are part of the 128 stars of destiny and that we should join his army." The maid frowned. "He also is rummaging through the supplies."
Yuki buried her face in her hands. "Very well. See about keeping him occupied. I'll go get Mai to drive him out.
Alouette shook her head. "That won't be necessary. We'll show him the door ourselves."
Yuki raised an eyebrow. "I want to see that."
She followed her maid to the guest room where the adventurer (a man in rather weak looking armor) was sitting with Elle and Ruby hanging off each arm. Yuki was annoyed more then normal at this.
The man turned and started to speak when Alouette whistled. Immediately Ruby and Elle pointed at the adventurers face and shot him in the head with danmaku.
Yuki looked at the fallen form. "Well that was easy. Don't forget to toss him outside. We don't want him reviving in the basement if he really is a chosen hero.
"Unlikely, but whatever you say Lady Yuki," Ruby said as she dragged the bleeding form out the door.

IS IT ROSE OR RUBY OR IS SHE TWO PEOPLE AT ONCE?!?!There's no amount of derp available for that mistake.
Because, let's face, the devils would find the two peopel at once thing hot.
* 100% focus on Patchouli ResearchWe aren't even halfway done with it, we've got like 20 more weeks before it's due, we should research things that can help us first.
* Name Merchant [whatever]I was actually thinking of the Dance Party because the Butler seems to have a more direct connection to it.
* 100% focus on Patchouli Research
- Merchant -> Buy wood
- Ruby -> Find books
- Chou/Waitress/Butler -> Dinner party
Hmm...what do we want to build next? That Casting Chamber is mighty tantalizing but mighty expensive. The Library or the Farm may be better to take care of first. Also, I say we should go for the Library next week because of all the research we have wanted the Devils to do.
Suggest Special Action priority be placed on Sakaki, Ferra and Eskarina, as obvious as they are as choices. Mayhaps they can work together to try to discover more efficient ways of using building materials?
Also leveling devils (Like what you want to do for Apophis) via special actions is possible, but hard and expensive.
What does it cost to have them do this research and/or practice as a combination of special actions?Something similar to a building.
I think we should research create iron, to see if it opens up anything, and pour the leftover points into Patchouli's work.Yeah, you've got a good point. We may have to rely on the spell sometimes until we get Ferra leveled up some more.

- Name the Merchant HibachiLooks good. No arguments here.
- Put 50% Research effort into Create Iron and 50% into general Patchy work
1) Send Ruby out to find gems.
2) Send Hibachi out to buy wood.
3) Have Dancer, Bartender and Butler organize a Dance Party.
4) Have Elle and Cassia streamline some more paperwork. If this gets tedious for them, have them focus on hunting for loopholes that could save/make us money instead.
5) Have Sakaki, Ferra, Eskarina and Apophis work together to research improving building material efficiency.
6) Have Helepolis give us another massage.
7) Have Farmgirl do some more farming now that she actually has a farm. If we can ask for a specific crop, request wheat.
EDIT: derp we already know Create Wood
Change to "Research Create Iron and dump the rest into Patchy work" and we're good
The well dressed devil was nearly hopping in place on the mystic circle. Yuki wondered if she should be worried about how eager the rest of the devils were to get names.Spells:
She shrugged. So long as they were busy nothing big should come of it.
Yuki closed her eyes then cast the spell, opening them as she gave her proclamation. "I name you Hibachi!"
The little devil smiled widely. "Thank you Miss Yuki!" She looked down at herself then twirled around before bounding over to her mistress. "I feel great! Hey, can I go to the markets?"
Yuki carefully watched the devil for signs of amorous ambition. "Sure, but why? We don't really need much."
"There's a 50% discount of vengeance today," the merchant said with a evil grin.
Yuki frowned. "I know you're annoyed about that robbery thing, but I don't want to start a gang war or something over that."
Hibachi sook her head. "Don't worry. I know how to pick my battles."
Yuki sighed. "Fine then. Go. But take some friends with you just in case."
"Thank you!" Hibachi blew Yuki a kiss. "I'll be sure to buy you a present while I'm out."
Yuki sighed as the devil left. "I think I should call Helepolis."
Yuki frowned at the sudden hubbub at the front of the mansion. Was it Thursday already? Weird stuff always seemed to happen on Thursday.
Standing up she headed to the lobby, where she saw a group of devils standing around a green haired girl in something like a Shrine Maidens outfit. Ruby was talking animatedly beside her.
The explorer demon looked over when Yuki entered the room. "Ah! Miss Yuki! I got the gems you wanted, and I found someone interesting."
The green haired girl bowed. "Hello. My name is Sanae Kochiya, a living goddess of the Moriya Shrine. Your servant helped me retrieve some artifacts that had been lost during the war to thieves. I wanted to come by and thank you personally for all the work she's done for our temple."
Yuki returned the bow. This didn't seem too bad. "It's a pleasure to have you over. I'm afraid we don't have a guest room, but I can sleep in my study."
Sanae looked stricken. "Oh no! I couldn't throw you out of your study. I'll sleep in the devils quarters."
Yuki blanched. "Um, that's not..."
Sanae smiled sweetly. "Oh I'm sure they won't try anything. They all seem like such good girls. Right?"
There was a chorus of agreement from the devils. Much to Yuki's surprise it actually seemed genuine. Yuki frowned at looked the girl over again. "So... as a living goddess what is your power."
"The power to create miracles!" Sanae replied.
Yuki paused a moment to listen to the devils whispers.
"Nice dress. Shows off her armpits..."
"...seems wrong to just jump her though. We'll have to seduce her in a reserved fashion."
"...maybe if we set up a branch shrine here..."
Yuki winced. It seemed that Sanae was safe, but Yuki's position as undisputed master was not. Still there wasn't anything she could do now. Maybe that power of miracles would work in her favor as much as it hurt her.
"Make yourself at home...."

Iced: Is Sanae's mana temporary, or does it hang around after she leaves? It is very very temporary. You actually lucked out with that due to the forest portals mana cost.
Out of curiosity, what is the advantage in naming the Butler ahead of the Farmgirl?I don't know, but after reviewing the list, I'm switching my vote to the farmgirl.
Out of curiosity, what is the advantage in naming the Butler ahead of the Farmgirl? We don't know if there is an advantage or not, cause we don't know what Butler does. She is the only one that stand out, so I picked her.
>Name the farmgirl. Name her Heather (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ericaceae).All of this sounds good to me.
>I would say it'd be a good idea to have Mai burn off the excess mana by conjuring either six pieces of wood or a gem and two pieces of wood after the portal is made.
>Have Helepolis teach a pressure point/basics of massage class to the other succubi to raise morale. If that don't do it, nothing will.
>Have have Apophis check around the house for things that need maintenance soon, so that we can address them now and save some money on maintaining the house.
>Have Ferra and Hibachi get together; Ferra makes some salable trinkets, and Hibachi heads out to hawk them using whatever channels she knows. We won't ask questions about what gets made.
The tanned devil who wore only overals and what Yuki (privately) considered a large handkerchief pretending to be a shirt relaxed in the circles as Yuki finished tracing them. After a few more minutes the spell was ready to be cast.Spells:
Power surged through the room as Yuki once again altered reality. "I name you Heather!"
Heather smiled at her new name. "Oh, I like that. It's pretty but down to earth."
Yuki nodded as she checked her list. "So you said you can start raising animals now?"
"Yep." Heather stretched her wings a bit. "Before I was either too weak to keep the animals or too weak to keep predators away, but with this power the fire breathing rabbits shouldn't cause me any trouble."
Yuki smiled. "Oh, I like those. Nice and spicy. What animals can you keep?"
Heather considered the matter. "Well with the farm we've got now I think I can breed rabbits, chickens, bats, and magician-devil hybrids."
Yuki nodded. "Okay that sounds... wait what was the last one?"
"Magician-devil hybrids."
"And how do you intend to manage that."
"Special Succubus technique. If you want a demonstration..." Heather began pulling at the knot on her top.
"No no no no no! Denied!"
Yuki stretched. She was all done with paperwork, and everything seemed to be moving smoothly along. Maybe she could do some private research today.
There was a shattering sound as a flaming arrow flew through the window nearby. Yuki ducked then looked through the broken glass.
Outside there was a small army, composed of about 500 troops. At their head was a figure that looked vaguely familiar. He raised a standard a yelled in a booming voice, "Those stars of destiny that dare stand against me shall be ground into the dust! All units, forward!"
Yuki swore. "That idiot again!?"
She quickly doused the flame arrow, then yelled out "Alouette!"
The maid devil quickly appeared, running low to avoid the arrow fire. "Your orders Mistress?"
"Get Mai and Bodyguard to hold the entryway. Have Ruby get a couple of volunteers to skirmish on the main floor. Everyone else is to join me on the second floor.
Alouette bowed. "It will be done."
As the devil ran off Yuki sighed. "Well it's a good thing we learned a fortification spell. Now to end this punks little game."
The battle was far too long, but in the end Yuki and Mai's superior combat magic won the day, though the devils did help. Especially with Butlers rather vicious idea to dump hot sand on the invaders.
Yuki sighed once more as she inspected the damage. "So final report?"
Marie smiled. "The only real injuries were Ferra and Apophis, and they'll be fine so long as they stick to light work." She gave Mai a severe look. "But I mean light work. Don't let either of them try to fast talk you into working overtime just because they've got new materials in. Normal building, that's it."
Yuki nodded. "Well so long as they can do their normal jobs that's fine. Good work."
Marie flushed and took her leave. Yuki sighed one again. Now to deal with the corpses.
"If only we had a kassha. Oh well, maybe we could feed them to the rabbits?"

Was the portal to the Forest of Woe a one-shot deal?It is a permanent portal. You don't need to pay for it again.
To make sure, we can double build without stressing out Architect or our builder, right?Yes. Sakaki is just fine, and Apophis has done all the hard work already.
Ironwood is in effect now, just for researching it? Or do we need to cast it?It is in effect no casting required. That is why your house was not set on fire.
Hibachi and Eskarina together should look for books. All of this sounds good, and I agree with IDing the potion for now, although I think we should dump the rest of the research into that new forge.
Also, I nominate the butler be named Elspeth. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Flashman) But I shant whine if others prefer it.
Also also: It may be a good idea to have Glenda and the Dancer put on an improv show (via crowd suggestions) to raise morale.
Chou should make cookies. Lots and lots of cookies.
Heather harvests for that 40 golds.
All of this sounds good, and I agree with IDing the potion for now, although I think we should dump the rest of the research into that new forge.
Have Ruby grind levels again.
Build the LIbrary plus the Larger House because that is kind of obvious right now.
I think we can go another week without a massage.
Get Marie to tend to Ferra and Apophis throughout the week as well to make sure they aren't being pushed too hard.
"Your name is Elspeth!"Spells:
Yuki sighed as the headache from the spell faded. She looked at the well dressed devil, who was standing there with strangly little expression. "So... forgive me for asking but what does a butler like you actually do, what with Alouette being around?"
Elspeth smiled lightly. "Ah, that's a complex question. In early times the Butler was the one placed in trust of their masters wines. From that position of trust they ended up running the lesser household."
"With Alouette running things, I've returned to the butlers old duties, as well as a few new ones," she finished.
"What are those?" Yuki asked, preparing to dodge any breast groping techniques.
Elspeth looked both ways before heading towards the door. "If the mistress would follow me...."
Yuki carefully followed the butler to her study, where Elspeth pushed aside the grandfather clock. To Yuki's great surprise there was a passage there leading downward. "Wait, when did that get there?"
"I made it in case it was needed. Miss Mai has been furnishing it recently."
As Elspeth stepped aside Yuki hurried down the passage to find a small cave. Inside was a surprised looking Mai, who was wearing... white leather and a mask?
Yuki blanched. "Oh no... They haven't corrupted you too Mai!?"
Mai looked at her and shook her head. "I'm not Mai. I'm, the White Fox!
"Seriously??" Yuki breathed a sigh of frustration and relief. It was just Mai being Mai then. She looked around the cave. "I suppose this could be a good staging ground. Especially since only you and Elspeth know about it."
Yuki smiled as she looked around the new house. "This is excellent! Not quite the mansion we're planning, but we're much closer."
Apophis, Ferra and Sakaki smiled. "Yep!" Ferra said, "This gives us all a lot more room. And we can expand a lot of things as well. With this we can start getting the cash well need to pay for a full mansion."
YUki nodded, then walked down the entryway stairs. "This portrait of Mai and me, artisan made it?"
"Yes. She's hoping you'll build her atlier next. She says she's good with gems," Sakaki said.
Yuki considered the matter briefly. "I'll think on it. First to enjoy the new rooms."
As Yuki began walking down the stairs she misjudged the next step and fell forward. The magician closed her eyes expecting a horrible impact.
Instead she landed on top of something a little softer.
The magician opened her eyes to find herself looking straight at Eskarina. The devil looked surprised briefly, then closed her eyes and leaned forward before Kissing Yuki firmly on the lips.
Mai walked in just in time to see Yuki start trying to escape the scientist devils embrace. She noted that the building trio was looking slightly peeved, and she sighed. *Just what we needed,* thought Mai. *Jealous succubi.*
She began walking forward to do damage control.

>Research the Forge, pour leftover into money treesThis sounds good, although the free time will probably make the Devils restless, but we won't know 'til we try right?
>Name the Bodyguard Joan.
>Send Ruby out to hunt for a good source of iron; we are not getting nearly enough of that.
>Another massage from Helepolis,
>Have Ferra and Hibachi make another go at selling goodies; but instead of money, try to barter them for building materials.
I also propose if we have any actions left over, we use them to give some random devils extra free time, in hopes of increasing morale.Kiss all the the devils to remove reasons to be jealous.
Notes:Get Mai to work on the scroll then. We don't give her enough to do.
The Scroll of Building is a one time use item. If anyone could research it it would be you or Mai. The skill required for the base spell is vastly beyond anything the devils can manage.
If you send people out for materials I need the specifc materials you're looking for. Or at least priorities.
Giving the devils free time will keep them from becoming restless, because the bored ones will find something to do. This could be helpful, but it's more likely you'll wind up with a cake containing a devil wearing only a ribbon arriving at your bedroom. And for some reason that causes Yuki stress. You sir, just made my day.
I'd prioritize whatever we can get the most of, as far as goodies > materials go. Hibachi can apply her skills and knowledges to analyze market fluctuations and what fell off the back of a cart recently to make the proper decisions.Might wanna consider getting iron or gems because they seem hard to get.
Well, naming the Bodyguard seems like it'll be a good idea, and I suggest Break or Wave as names. Or was the name Joan meant as a reference?I personally thought "Joan of Arc" right away, but thats just me. :3
I personally thought "Joan of Arc" right away, but thats just me. :3
This guy's a smart guy.I personally blame a combination of Age of Empires 2 and my affinity for historical stuff.
Let's have Glenda use our notoriety to try and parley that into drawing larger crowds to our various events. This could work rather well actually.
Let's have Glenda use our notoriety to try and parley that into drawing larger crowds to our various events.
Isn't Hiro more of a guy's name, though? o_O
As a name, maybe Thaoss? (THou shAlt nOt paSS)
I'd build a fence because I'm paranoid and it uses up less than half our income.
Bodyguard had always seemed odd to Yuki. Mainly because she was always serious. Or always pretending to be serious. Yuki couldn't tell if it was a front, or something innate to the devils job.Spells:
Putting that thought aside she finished the spell. "Your name is Joan!"
Yuki nearly jumped when Joan smiled. "Thank you Miss Yuki. It will be my pleasure to guard you and Miss Mai from harm."
"Whoa, when did you speak like that?" Yuki asked. She began checking the runes to see if she'd messed anything up.
"Just now," Joan looked at Yuki curiously. "Didn't Miss Mai tell you? A devils name influences their actions. While it can't change our core personality as succubi we do have to change our persona."
Yuki shuddered. "That still seems a little messed up."
Joan laughed. "Don't worry Miss Yuki. Most of us have very fixed personalities, because those are part of our jobs. People who fetishize Office Ladies or Doctors have certain expectations about their personality. Devils like me however are more flexible. Besides, I think I prefer this to the 'dour' style that modern casters have."
Yuki sighed and made a mental note to bug Mai about this. "Well so long as you're happy...."
"Oh, about the job. I'll be needing to sleep by your side to perform my duties to their fullest extent. You won't have a problem with that right?"
"Denied."
Yuki awoke to a massive rumbling. "What the hell is it this time!?" she yelled at the heavens. And the heavens seemed to answer as her window burst in, along with several gallons of water.
Yuki cautiously looked out the window to find that she was now on the first floor above sea level. This was a little odd, in that there wasn't supposed to be a sea, but sometimes odd things happened in Makai.
There was a knock on the door, then a click as someone used a lock picking spell. Yuki frowned at Mai as she came in. "I hate it when you do that." After a second she blinked. "And what are you wearing."
"A one piece. Bikini's are a pain with the wings," Mai answered simply. "You'll want something too. The whole first floors flooded. Weather spells say it'll be like that for another three days."
Yuki swore for a few minutes, then sighed. "At least the books have been waterproofed. The rest of the house will be a mess though."
Mai shrugged. "It's only money."
"Only money!? Do you realize...." Yuki's tirade faded as she thought about it for a moment. "We're filthy rich now aren't we."
Mai nodded.
"Okay then." Yuki turned towards her dresser to find her own suimsuit. "Well I'll get dressed and check up on the devils."
Joan stepped into the doorway. "No need to worry Miss Yuki. We're all okay."
Yuki burried her face in her hands. "That's good to hear, but why are you naked?"
Joan blinked. "Well there's water everywhere. Since we are swimming anyway...."
"Suimsuit." Mai said in her normal even tone.
Joan looked dissapointed. "Ha! Told you," Dancer said as she walked in. "A proper suimsuit is far more sexy then mere nakedness." She procceeded to stretch to prove her point.
Yuki coughed. "That's nice and all, but could you all get out of my room so I can change!?"

Don't we have a Mill? What happened to that? You have a mill running full steam.
Kilga, I am liking what you are pondering.Agreed. It would especially help if she found an iron or gem rich place we could exploit.
Let us have Eskarina research more resource-producing areas for us to make a gate to and violate.
We could also have her keep researching that scroll. At least she didn't bitch about it like she did the lumberjacking.I think I mentioned that in my suggestions, but yeah. This is the best way to get Mai to spend her time right now.

Wouldn't it be better if we build Moat and fence now? I may be wrong but I think with a Notoriety of 92 the next visit of not so friendly neighbours will be one size larger.I suggested that too, but I think everyone wants to keep the wood for bigger things right now.
Well, how much wood do we get per week anyway? Cause if we get 70+ per week, the Fence+Moat combo at 48~ isn't that big of a hit to gains.100 wood a week, as the Succubus list (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,6925.msg414942.html#msg414942) indicates.

Dancer was oddly still as Yuki finished the circles. Then again on the other hand that made sense. A dancer had to have total control over their movements.Spells:
Yuki finished the spell then poured power into it. "Your name is Maya!"
Maya immediately sprung into the air with joy, making a little piruette before langing and hugging Yuki before springing off to hug Mai. "Thank you!"
Yuki was glad the devil had stuck to hugs, but she figured commenting on that might lead the girl to 'correct' her oversight. "So what kind of dances can you do? Anything magical?"
Maya blinked at the question. "Er, sorry, I was too weak without a name to learn any magic dances. I'm not even sure I can do that now. It's kind of a lost art. Still I can do anything else. Couples dances, group dances, belly dancing, erotic dancing, court dancing, ice dancing. Everything."
"Ice dancing?" Mai asked.
Maya nodded. "Of course. I actually specialize in couples dancing, as my intended purprose was to be summoned for troupes of dancers."
Yuki frowned. "We don't actually have a troupe here to work with."
Maya nodded. "It's okay. I can work with other groups or do solo work just fine. However until we get a stage I won't be able to go all out. Unless you'll lift that ban on the dance of the seven..."
"Not a chance."
Maya sighed. "Stage managers...."
Yuki was putting the final period on her paper when a sharp staccato sound caused her to jump and spill the ink. Swearing she rapidly saved what pepers she could before starting towards the door to see what the mess was.Yuki: "Ruby, I don't care HOW integral a tragic doomed hometown is to the genre, you are not allowed to bring your enemies home."
As she approached the exit to the libary she heard Eskarina yell "Eat wrench Nazi!" then a solid clang. Yuki sighed, then walked over. Much to her distress Eskarina did in fact seem to be standing over an unconcious man in a WWII issue German uniform.
She decided to be direct. "Eskarina. Where's Ruby?"
Eskarina looked back. "Ah! Miss Yuki! I think she's cleaning out the few that entered the house. Most got trapped at the wall."
Yuki nodded. "Well finish up here then. And if you see Alouette tell her I spilled some ink.
Yuki proceeded to walk to the main entryway, setting a few passing annoyances on fire as she did (thank Shinki they made the place fireproof) then yelled up at Ruby (who seemed to be fighting a cyborg soldier), "Why are there Nazi's in my house!?"
Ruby shrugged and ducked a laser bolt while reclaiming her hat. "They followed me home. Can I kill them?"
"Can you?" Yuki reasonably asked.
"Er, if he let's me get a spell off," the devil replied.
Yuki sighed and lit the man up like a torch. "No time for that. We've got to make sure everyone else is okay."
At the end of the day Yuki found herself very glad they'd made the moat this week. The only injury was Joan, who apparently took a bullet for Hibachi. Fortunately Joan's healing abilities were stronger then most devils so Marie just suggested light work for the week.

We can have Eskarina and Hibachi go out looking for it/buying it, and we can make some ourselves. Considering Sakaki will put us at 403 minimum next turn, I think we can get 92 Wood between the three of us.As much as I hate to say this, building occurs before the weekly production.
We can have Eskarina and Hibachi go out looking for it/buying it, and we can make some ourselves. Considering Sakaki will put us at 403 minimum next turn, I think we can get 92 Wood between the three of us.Well, that's NEXT week >:
Actually, I have a twink question: If we cast Enhance Devil on a devil and then have Helecopter give them a massage that same week, will that help their Exhausted status? Not really. They'll feel better about it of course, but Helepolis can't restore magical energy
Of course, this begs the question: If a devil is magically exhausted through that spell, does that mean they can't perform any tasks? Or does it just mean they lose their inherent bonus for a week (like +100 wood or +50 cash or whatever)? They can't perform tasks either. Their tasks the week they are enhanced are supercharged though.
Is the boost they gain equal to a level or two gained, based on the level most of our Devils are? It's a litteral doubling. You get two weeks worth of stuff right now at the cost of next weeks stuff.
Also, our explorer got Night Sever when she leveled, correct? I assume she will also end up getting Winged Slayer and Dimension Slash at some point, if Night Sever refers to what I think it does. You've noticed Ruby's level up origins have been rather eclectic right? ;)
I'm all for hiring out unused facilities for extra income. Though logically, it's going to put quite a bit of stress on us every week.
How do the abilities affect Ruby?Rubies level indicates the areas she can safely loot. Hitting her will double her level.
Will Mudoon and Night Sever provide more effectiveness or are they simply flavor?Flavor.
If we're going to do the leasing idea, it's probably a good idea to get the Office lady working out the details of making it not stressful, while our accountant and Ferra work out how much we can lease without causing an impact on current and future iron intakes.Agreed.
We should name the Artisan. We should name her Kirala (http://skiesofarcadia.wikia.com/wiki/Kirala).I thought you guys wanted to build the portal to the scrapyard?
Another point. This would is true... I think we should name the Artisan for now then.
I step down from being for it to being neutral. Too much notoriety at once would be a bad thing.
Is there a specific time when we cast the spells or can we use them as we like?Yes, but it won't do anything in this case. The exhaustion kicks in at the start of the next week, so any attempt to cure it must wait until then.
For example: Cast Enhance Devil on Sakaki on the first day of the week and Cure Devil on the last day.
Yuki nodded as she confirmed the circles were all in place, then finished the incantation. As the universe warped she proclaimed, "Your name is Kirala!"Spells:
The devil blinked then shrugged, "Thought you'd have given Sakaki that name, but I like it."
Yuki considered the matter. "Actually that's a good point. What is it that you do?"
Kirala pulled out her satchel and opened it to reveal a startling array of tools. "I make works of art. Toys, jewelry and paintings most frequently."
Yuki considered the matter for a moment. "So what's the difference between you and Ferra?"
Kirala sniffed dismissivly. "Ferra makes tools, I make art. As for roles, Ferra is more directly physical while I...."
"Not the part I need to know," Yuki waved the matter off. "Do you know gemcutting?"
Kirala's smile returned. "Of course! I'm even able to cut gems to be fit for magical work. If you want, I can put the money I get from crafting into acquiring raw gems and cutting them to your specifications."
"Would that actually be better then buying gems?" Yukai asked.
Kirala thought over the matter for a bit. "I'll need to check with Hibachi, but I'm pretty certain we can make a profit there."
Yuki smiled. "That's great! Even if I don't need the gems we can sell them for quick money then. I'll let you get to work!"
"Ah, Miss Yuki. A request!" Kirala pulled out a sketchpad and some pencils. "I'd like my first painted as a named devil to be of you."
Yuki actually felt herself blush at the request. "I'd be honored. And I suppose I have some free time right now if you wanted to start."
Kirala nodded. "That's great. In that case let me get my easel while you strip."
".... I'm honored, but my first painting will NOT be a nude."
"Damn."
Elspeth quietly opened the hidden door for Yuki, then followed her down. "Seriously, what is Mai doing?" Yuki groused. "I suppose beating up criminals can be fun but...."Events:
"The pursuit of criminals isn't fun. It's justice Black Cat." Yuki jumped as Mai appeared behind her. "What the heck? How'd you sneak up on me while wearing that white outfit? And what's that Black Cat thing?"
"Your costume Mistress," Elspeth said, pointing towards a manaquin that was wearing a black leather combat outfit. Yuki noticed the ears as well.
Yuki shook her head vigorously. "Not a chance."
"Then you would leave this city to danger? Would you seriously ignore the crimes of the Axe Gang just because you don't want to wear a mask?"
Yuki buried her face in her hands. "I'm ignoring their crimes because they're a CRIME CARTEL. We don't want to get involved in that."
Mai pointed at her. "Can you say that knowing the victims they will leave behind!?"
Elspeth leaned over and whispered in Yuki's ear. "They heard about us recently. Mai thinks they're going to try a raid unless someone distracts them."
Yuki paused. "Oh." After a moment she began to see the brilliance of Mai's strategy. With a couple of masked crime fighters running about people would investigate the perfectly normal mansion outside of town less.
"Alright. Let's do this Mai."
"Good call. But first Black Cat, we must train..."
***
Shinki looked down from the fortress Pandemonium and considered the matter for a moment. Then she signaled for her maid to attend her. Yumeko phased through the walls to get to her goddesses side.
"Yes Lady Shinki?"
Shinki pointed at the large bonfire in the rich quarter of the city. "What's that there? I can tell it's not a normal fire."
Yumeko looked down at the area then nodded. "It seems to be the complex of one of the criminal groups you allowed to exist, since squashing them out only seemed to cause more wars to break out."
Shinki considered the matter. "Hm... I guess I should look at it directly." The goddess of Makai closed her eyes and allowed her mind to gaze on the events of the past.
After a few seconds she smiled. "We I suppose things like this happen now and then. Be a dear and make sure it doesn't escalate too much would you Yumeko?"

Yuki swore as Marie wrapped the bandaged around her torso. "Damn it, be more careful."
Marie glared at her. "I told you, no pain pills until you explain HOW you broke your ribs."
Yuki grimiced. This was going to be another long day....

Name ArtisanYou did name the artisan, Kirala.
Sounds like we're giving Eskarina the week off to rest up.Actually Ruby is the one down for the count. I'll mark that on the list.
>Name the bartender Shotglass (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wing_Commander_(franchise))I dunno... I mean, Shotglass? It's like naming an artist Paintbrush. Even if it is a reference.
>Build casting chamberI agree with all of this, although maybe we should name the Bartender something else. Like Cheers.
>Name the bartender Shotglass (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wing_Commander_(franchise))
>Have Mai create a portal to that scrapyard with the excess mana from making the casting chamber
>Get a massage from Helepolis
>Have Eskarina look up a good place to find more gems.
>Let Ruby have the day off.
I have a quick question... Just out of curiosity is it possible to obtain more Devils somehow? For my sanity, no. Sorry
Let's Eskarina and/or Mai calculate if our library is already big enough to get a constant L-space (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L-space#L-space) access. If we mess around with time and space we should do it right.^^Alas, that secret knowledge is only in the hands of Koakuma (Librarian). You don't want to be MORE in debt to Patchouli. That would just suck.
Than back to the Engineering Reference/Data Books, does Makai even have a standardized Systems of measurement?Makai doesn't have standardized measurements, but Magicians do, and since Magicians buy a lot of random goods everyone just uses that standard. So you won't have to worry about being cheated due to unit conversion. You just have to be worried about being cheated because you're buying from devils.
Yuki sighed. She SHOULD be focusing on the spell, but a bigger problem had distracted her. Fortunately Mai had taken over.Spells:
"What's the problem Miss Yuki?" Bartender asked worriedly.
Yuki grimiced. "I don't have a name!"
The magician began to pace, drawing a glare from Mai. "Bartenders need evocative names! Yet their names should also be plain. There are layers of intricacy here that I just don't know if I'm up to covering!"
Bartender looked at her with wide eye. "Miss Yuki. I didn't know you were so knowledgeable about these matters. I'm touched..."
Yuki managed a nervous chuckle. "It's a side hobby. Anyway you're the one screwed if I do this wrong, you have any suggestions?"
Bartender smiled. "Simple. We keep both my true name and my common name secret and I go by a third alias."
Yuki gazed at the devil. "That's terribly overcomplicated. I like it. Mai, you do the naming, and I'll do the strange confusing part."
Mai looked back and forth at the two, the shrugged and finished the spell. The other magician said something during the blast, but Yuki couldn't make it out.
After Yuki was sure the magic had died down she walked forward. "Okay, how about you call yourself 'Shotglass' at the bar and pretend your real name is 'Moe?'"
Bartender thought about it for a while. "That works." Then she smiled and pulled out a bottle. "So let's celebrate with body shots!"
Yuki smacked the devil upside the head. "Not a chance. Get the top shelf stuff, then we'll talk."
Mai shook her head again.
Yuki nodded to Allouette as she set the tea down. "Is there anything else today Alouette?"Event:
The maid nodded. "Actually yes Miss Yuki. We've heard reports that someone from outside Makai has broken in. They're wandering about like normal, attacking any who cross their path."
Yuki frowned. "Are they likely to come here?"
"It does seem possible."
"Are they dangerous?"
Alouette shook her head. "They're using danmaku it seems. Or something very close."
Yuki thought about it for a moment. "Well then, let's greet her properly. I'll get Mai while you prepare the entertainment."
***
Vivit: "Excuse me, I'm looking for the fortress of Pandemonium."
Yuki: "Sorry, they've already got a maid."
Vivit: "I'm not trying to join thier maid crew."
Yuki: "Well we could tell you, but first we think you should pay us back for our time. Right Mai?"
Mai: " :3"
Vivit: "Fine. I'll give you all the danmaku you can take!"

What are the effects of researching new attacks? Do they only affect our personal ability or can Joan and Ruby take advantage of this?Personal ability, but that factors into defense and other matters. For example considering how poorly I rolled for Vivit it's quite possible New Attacks would have made her game over even with continues.
Shouldn't Ferra's production be increased to reflect the easier access to the scrapyard?Ferra's forge can't handle the workload. The Foundary could, so creating it will actually raise Ferra's level by 2.
Build - You can build the following structures:
|
Build the Atlier.
We should do something with all our money, I propose Hibachi buy lots of books preferably on smithing. Ferra should probably go with her.
Research defense tower and put the rest into rapid growth.
I propose the planting of 10 money trees. even though we have quite a bit of cash it seems we still don't have enough to buy the materials to construct anything we can't already construct.
Ruby should look for a gem mine.
Glenda and Maya put on another show
Sounds like a good enough reason to start buying and magic-making Iron to me.
Might as well name the Waitress as well; perhaps we'll have an event from it.I agree with everything above.
Let's name her Elmina.
Question: will buying tons of Iron make it's price go up, at all? Or is it all Hibachi?Prices raise and fall with notoriety and market manipulation to get discounts. Unless you're ordering more then 5000 iron in one shot you won't even budge the general market through normal purchasing.
How do we raise Hibachi's level? The Hibachi level raising structure is still locked, but it exists.
Let us consider having the bartender host a wine-tasting. Done properly, it should rake in some golds and increase happiness.Since Elspeth seems to know her stuff when it comes to this, try to get her in on it too.
Kirala | Artisan | 2 | +25 income, +5 gems |
Waitress looked like the kid picked last for teams, and to be fair, she kind of was.Spells:
Yuki was uncertain exactly how much use she had for a waitress. I mean, sure it was good to have someone who was innately immune to dojikko antics, but all the other jobs seemed more useful. Still she didn't think saying that out loud would be fair. And she wasn't going to let the poor girl sit and wait for a name while all the others wandered around on a whole different level of power.
Throwing those thoughts aside Yuki completed the circles and focused. "Your name is Elminia!"
The miniskirted devil slowly smiled. "Thank you so much Miss Yuki! I'll be sure to show you how much I can help now!"
"Sure..." Yuki replied. "Uh, do you need anything for your work?"
Elminia thought for a moment. "No, not unless you want me on rollerskates. I think that's out of style these days, but some people like the retro bit. Really all I need is customers and this smile!"
She grinned. It was a pretty good smile. Yuki swore she could almost hear the light reflecting.
"Though I suppose we could add mirrors or something to..."
"I don't want to run that kind of establishment," Yuki stated.
Elminia thought for a moment. "I suppose most of our customers would have skirts too, and for some reason people get touchy about that. Oh well."
"I any case, I can track orders flawlessly, carry food for 8 at full speed and work 12 hour days without loosing my cool," Elminia said. "So the more jobs you give me the more I can help get cash in."
Yuki pondered that. "Hm... Okay then. I might have some other odd jobs for you as well..."
Yuki glanced at Mai before carfully following her into the dark room.Event:
On there entrance there was a sudden flash as the lights all came on. The room was covered in banners and streamers. To thier sides there were two portraits, one of Yuki, the other of Mai. The talbes were filled with food and the bar was fileld to the brim. At the other end of the dining hall stood the entire troupe of devils headed by Alouette. "Thank you Mistresses for naming us all!"
There was a series of pops and confetti streamed down across the room. Yuki stood stunned as the little devils all ran forward to offer thier personal thanks.
"I hope everything is to taste. Heather picked out her finest crops and livestock. And come by and visit the kitchens a bit more! I promise I'll make you something special!"
"Alouette spent the last week setting this all up! Do you like the special tables I made?"
"Don't worry about the cost, me and Hibachi took care of it out of our own funds."
"Yeah, we both owe you big for this. Without you we'd still be minor league."
"You're to have fun tonight! Doctors orders!"
"I've gotten rid of all that stress, so now it's time to cut loose!"
"Maya's putting on a show tonight."
"I set up a temporary stage, but I think it'll do for tonight."
"Eskarina and Ferra have fireworks set up!"
"And Glenda's gonna sing!"
"I've gotten some fine liquor imported from all the friends I've met adventuring."
"And I've got the best drinks you can make from that down perfect."
Joan pushed through the crowd and took her and Mai by the hand. "But first lets let you take your seats. Elminia can grab anything if you need it."
Yuki let herself be taken to the head of the table, where she and Mai took the two large chairs there. Mai seemed to be just as shocked as she was.
Elle moved up and gave another bow. "Um, I have a note from Koakuma thanking you for naming all of our sisters. And well... I know that I'm not actually bound to either of you. But I'm glad I'm able to serve you." The devil flushed and bowed again. "Thank you!"
After a few moments Mai raised her glass and looked at Yuki. "Told you it was a good idea."
"Yeah. Yeah it was." Yuki smiled and raised her own glass. "A toast! To the best idea Mai's ever had!"

Iced Fairy: Is their anything we can use money for other then buying Iron, Wood and Gems? Aside from actions like Parties?Well money gets used for repairs, and if you can find them (VERY HARD) books. Money will also be used for other minor things in the future, but you haven't unlocked that yet.
Also, how much Iron can we get out of 'Transmute gems to iron' for a single gem?Much better then if you sold it.
convert all mana to iron
I plan to have us build a foundry as soon as possible. that way, we would have a decent flow of iron.Guy makes a good point. I second the mana-to-iron conversion.
build the wallAlso agreeing with all of this, as well as researching Dig and New Attacks.
Ruby should continue clearing out the mines
Mai should research a spell
Hibachi should seek out architecture books and books to aid her own skills(priority on architecture)
I plan to have us build a foundry as soon as possible. that way, we would have a decent flow of iron. That's a good idea but would it be more effective if we Enhance Ferra and use the "remain" mana for iron?
enhancing Ferra would not increase our maximum possible mana flow because she work not be able to work next week. I don't think we shoul enhance and cure spam her for iron because that would really eat through morale.Agreed. We need Ferra to be healthy right now because of the slow rate at which iron is made, and I feel a boost plus a week of not being able to work doesn't seem like it will help the situation much.
Possibility: Try to get Hibachi to find a straight exchange of wood for iron?

"Yarr! We be demanding yer valuables matey!"Event:
Yuki sighed then yelled up at the ship, "That was two days ago! Piracy isn't legal anymore. Come back next year!"
The eyepatched devil looked confused. "Shiver me timbers? Be ye certain? Check the calendar."
"The wench be right cap'n! The season be over!"
"Damn and blast it all." The figure swore. "Well, sorry for disturbin ye matey. We'll be back again next year."
As the airship sailed off Yuki muttered vile threats towards whichever devil had thought it would be funny to sell piracy licenses. Sure it cut down on the amount of robberies during the year, but it was a PAIN suring the season.
Yuki's plot to find out their likeness and send it to Alice for curse doll testing was interrupted by Mai rushing out of the house. "What is it?"
Mai simply held out a paper, pointing at the obituaries.
Yuki noticed the name immediately. "That old coot kicked the bucket? Good riddiance. Frozen by a fairy? Ahahahaha, that makes it even better." Yuki smiled at her friend. "Thanks, I needed that."
Mai sighed and shook the paper again. "Look."
Yuki checked where Mai's finger was pointing now. Then her eyes widened. "Cassia, Eskarina, Hibachi pack your bags! We've got an auction to go to!"
---
The magician community was out in force.
Fortunately Joan had insisted on coming as well, and she was very good at politely clearing a path. This helped secure Yuki and her entourage a good bidding position. Sadly they didn't have the cash to get the GOOD artifacts, but hopefully they'd still be able to pick up some useful stuff.
"Okay, here's the plan. Escarina, give me some non verbal signal when the item going up is worth something to you. I can get the magical stuff but science isn't my field. Hibachi. You scan the room. Give me a cue if someone's obviously going to keep bidding. Might as well try to bankrupt our competitors early on. Cassia, keep us in budget. I don't want negative numbers next month. Give me a queue when we should stop." Yuki looked over the three devils. "Got it?"
"Yes Miss Yuki," they all replied.
---
"Do I hear 50? 50! 60? 60!"
Yuki's eyes narrowed. It looked like a fierce bidding war had already started up. And at least one of the participants looked like they were only going to make one big end purchase. Still she wasn't sure.
"Do I hear 900?"
Yuki jumped up as someone groped her breasts from behind. Suddenly realizing what had happened she raised her auction number into the air, while smacking Hibachi upside the head.
"I said non verbal cue. Not 'please grope me.'"
"Sorry mistress...."
---
"Next we have this plastic device labled "Intel". A curiosity of the outside world. Going for $10...."
Yuki was looking to get a glimpse of the next item when Mai jumped and let out a muffled squeek. Yuki sighed and raised her auction number, while Mai smacked Eskarina over the head. As the scientist devil took her hands out from Mai's skirt Yuki stated, "Groping Mai is also not a good cue. It's not exactly subtle either."
Joan snickered.
---
Yuki yawned. It had been a long day, but she'd aquired a great deal of magical writings and a few useful items. She'd even managed to get a gift for the rest of the mansion. The bidding was starting to die down though, which meant they'd probably be pulling out a few big items they were keeping around.
"Next we have the wizard's very own alchemy kit, fully labeled and cleaned."
Yuki's ears perked up. That could be fairly useful, especially given the books she'd aquired. She got ready to enter the biding when she suddenly felt lips on her own.
Cassia's kiss lasted a full twenty seconds before Yuki rapped her on the head and got her voice back. "What was that? With the others they could pretend they were interpreting my orders correctly, but you should have known better!"
Cassia wiped away some crocodile tears, "But I had to finish the joke! It's a rule."
Yuki sighed and shook her head. "Oh well, whatever. Good work everyone. Now let's go home and sort out what's useful in all the stuff we grabbed."
Hibachi nodded. "I imagine a lot off people will be doing that. Market's probably going to be a little wierd for a bit."

Holy shit wood market.

research create foundation and put the rest into new attacks and if there is still more points available, put the rest into Gems to Iron. Ruby should grind
> IcedFairy: Rather then just having Ruby go and grind, couldn't we have her and Joan spar/mock battle with each other? Would we gain anything from this, or must we try it 1st to know? You could do that, but there would probably be less gain. Ruby acquires resources and money while grinding, which she won't find on the practice field. However if you're very lucky Joan might benefit significantly from the training, since Ruby is by far the strongest of the devils.
> IcedFairy: Would the chance of Joan getting something good out of it rise with Rubies Level?Yeah, but on a percentage point per level kinda basis. It's better but not mind blowingly so.
Has Sakaki always been +100 wood? I thought she was +150 for a while. There was an event that boosted her output once. I think that was before I realize the potential for confusion and started using the +X figure for temp bonuses.
Actually, can I change our wood purchase from "40 Wood" to "~$600 worth of wood, rounding the money up to the nearest whole piece of wood as necessary"? I don't want to blow a ton of money of wood if Hibachi flubs her haggling, and I don't want to lose the opportunity to get even more if Hibachi manages a discount. It is done.

Yuki sniffed the air. She smelled smoke. Mildy curious she rang the bell to summon one of her familiars.Event:
Elminia quickly walked in. "Do you need something Miss?"
"Perhaps some tea. And if you could, please tell me why there's smoke."
Elminia bowed. "Oh that? There was some motercycle gang that tried to attack. Or maybe they just wanted to jump the walls. Anyway they failed."
Yuki raised an eyebrow. "Did they fail the jump normally or did you set them on fire?"
"I didn't set them on fire," Elminia protested. "That was all Ruby, Escarina and Joan."
"It's alright. I don't really care about those trash," Yuki went back to the books she'd bought. "If you could grab the tea, please...."
"As you command mistress."
***
Yuki yawned as she took the stairs down to the dining hall. She could order breakfast in bed, but she considered that a little lazy.
Arriving at the table she found Mai already there. Her fellow magician nodded, then put the paper in front of her.
"Mysterious Mansion claims another gang! New magician overlords on the rise!?!?"
"Crap."

Can we cast is one week and then that advantage of its effects on a later week?
There was a knock at the door to the study. "Come in!" Yuki called out.Event:
She was surprised when Heather walked in with a worried expression. "Um... I'm afraid we have problems Miss Yuki. There's going to be a drought."
Yuki blinked at the farmgirl. "A drought? How can you tell?"
Heather nodded. "Well the rabbits are having smaller litters, and there's been a strange shift in the wind at sunset the last couple of nights." Seeing Yuki's expression her wings fluttered a bit, "I'm telling you, it's the truth! Being able to sense these sort of things is part of my nature."
Yuki considered the matter for a moment. Heather had a point. The devils were all skilled at their one field of choice. They were all doing the work of two or three professionals in their field. At least. "Okay. Grab Mai, Eskarina, Hibachi, Cassia, Elle and Alouette. We'll need to plan this out.
***
Eskarina looked over Elles shoulder as she finished scribbling out the math problems. "Hm... She's right. We're technically already in a drought, but we'll start feeling it next week. And from these figure's it'll be about a month before things get better.
Mai tapped her hands on the desk. "Are we good?"
Alouette nodded. "If we start preparing now we'll be just fine for food. In fact we should have extra we can keep selling, if not as much as normal."
Cassia nodded in agreement. "Our finances will be secure too. I'll invest in the proper commodities quickly."
Hibachi smirked. "And it'll be a sellers market when everyone else catches on."
Yuki sighed in relief. "So we'll actually make money off this then?"
Cassie shook her head. "Sorry, but that's unlikely. We're still losing all of Heather's income and our maneuvering this week can't make up for that.
Yuki rubbed her eyes as Hibachi continued. "And the price of woods gonna go up too. We're fine since we cheat a bit, but other people have to use local wood...."
"Well at least we won't be too badly hurt." Yuki sighed. "Anything else?"
Alouette nodded. "Marie suggested some clothing that might better suit people for the hot weather. I have a sample here."
Yuki looked at the highly altered witch dress that the maid held up. "I can't help but notice the large heart shaped cutout over the chest area. And the general shortness of the skirt."
"It has a nice hat as well," Alouette stated.
Yuki turned to Mai. "How about you just air condition the place like usual."
Yuki wondered if she imagined the brief frown on Mai's face before the ice mage nodded in agreement.

Ferra | Smith | 4 | Produces 50 iron per week. |
Yuki relaxed on the roof of her giant house. Apparently someone had given Shinki the idea to put mirrors on the ceiling to reflect the light from the ice flows. I was a very pretty display.Event:
Suddenly there was a burst of light in the sky. Yuki looked at the area, then reformed her eyes to better see into the darkness.
Eventually she pinpointed the disturbance apparently two dragons were fighting over something. It was quite the show visually if not tactically. One of the dragons obviously outclassed it's foe.
Finally after a spinning dive the larger faster dragon crushed it's opponents head and threw it aside, roaring in triumph.
Yuki started to look away when she realized what direction the corpse had be thrown in.
"Mai I need you up here!" Yuki yelled as she started tracking the falling object. Sure enough it was set to drop on the east wing of the house. The library.
As she waited for Mai she started going over her spells. Lava stream seemed like the best one for deflecting errant dragons.
Mai was up quickly, shortly followed by Ruby. "Can I help?" The leather clad demon asked.
"Sure, if you've got the blasting power." Yuki stated. "When I give the signal Mai?"
Mai nodded.
As the dragon entered into range the three casters unleashed their spells. Yuki and Mai's cascades of power clashed a bit creating a lot of steam, but between those and Ruby's wind gust the dragon corpse was pushed back. It slammed into the wall then slid into the moat.
Yuki sighed. "Call Allouette for clean up. And see if Chou can get any dragon steaks out of it."

Library seems the way to go.
Would a mana gem be necessary, or could we just not spell 50 mana and end up with 200 next week?
Um, I notice that we've been collecting notoriety like a black hole recently. Should we do something about that, or is a high notoriety good?High notoriety increases the price to buy and sell things, the strength of events, and your base income. It's a little more bad then good.
Can fighting crime kill us?No. Well okay yes, but you'll get better because you're the main character.
What effects does the White Fox have other than stopping the weekly event?Notoriety drops, and there's a chance of injury and looting. Er, evidence collecting.
Eskarina | Scientist | 3 | +35 research. |
Mai and Yuki sat enjoying some after dinner tea when Elspeth entered the room. "Miss Mai, a vall for you. On the red phone."Event:[/b]
Yuki looked up incredulously. "We have a red phone?"
Mai nodded, then headed towards the study. Confused, Yuki followed.
Then she saw Mai open the secret passage behind the clock.
"No. Oh no."
"Miss Yuki," Elspeth said from behind her. "If you don't hurry it's certain you'll be spotted."
Cursing every diety she could think of, Yuki plunged back into madness.
***
Yuki did her best to dissapear. Sara was certain to recognize them.
"Good to see you again White Fox. And I'm glad to meet you as well Black Cat."
Or maybe everyone else was insane.
"What do you need, gatekeeper?" asked Mai.
Sara pulled out a map and a list. "We had a few outsiders commiting some break ins. Normally we'd ignore this, but there's been a disturbing pattern in the thefts."
Yuki looked at the list. She couldn't make heads or tails of it.
Mai however apparently was a little more knowledgable about the human world. "I see. All from the library of Alexandria."
Sara nodded. "Exactly White Fox. So we've gotten a little worried. We think their hidout is somewhere around here. It would be a great weight off our chests if you took a look at it."
Yuki sighed. "I suppose we should."
For some reason Sara chose that moment to turn around, so Yuki left before she could be recognized. As she darted through the shadows she noticed Mai beside her. "Good work on the dissapearing act." Mai said.
"I WANT to dissapear," muttered Yuki.
***
The site of course was crawling with goons. Most of them in uniforms that Yuki almost found familiar.
"Are those nazis?" Yuki asked incredulously.
Mai nodded. "Yep, old chum."
Yuki blinked at the odd term then asked the more important question. "How are you sure?"
"Because Ruby's right there." Mai pointed.
Yuki looked. Sure enough Ruby was hiding behind a nearby rock.
Figuring they should figure out why she was there Yuki moved to the cover.
Ruby of course went on guard before they reached her. "Who's, oh Miss Yuki! Miss Mai! What are you doing here? And what's with those sexy outfits!?"
Mai waved her hand. "We're not Yuki and Mai. You don't know us. But you know we're helpful."
Ruby blinked. "Oh. You're not Yuki and Mai. You just look like them. Still you seem trustworthy."
Mai smiled. "Indeed citizen. So what's going on here."
Ruby pointed at the central area. "Well they're Nazi's, but they're being led by a cyborg clone of Rasputin who's trying to destroy history and rewrite the world in his image. They've collected a lot of library tomes in order to do that, so I'm hoping to stop them and steal the tomes for my masters."
Yuki wasn't thrilled with their odds, but the rewards sounded pretty nice. And she kinda liked history as is. "You have a plan?"
***
Yuki groaned as she woke up. Staring down at her were Mai and Elspeth. "Good, you're awake, Miss Yuki" Elspeth said with a sigh of relief.
Yuki tried to sit up, then the pain kicked in. "Urgh, fuck. What happened."
Mai looked apologetic. "We were doing well until you set that Rasputin guy on fire. Apparently he can reflect fire spells. We took him out and got the goods, but you got hurt in the process. Sorry."
Yuki groaned again. "So why am I here and not being treated by Marie!?"
Elspeth bowed. "We have to get you out of your uniform first. After that we'll claim a lab accident caused by my incompetence injured you. That should keep anyone from knowing."
Yuki sighed, then winced as the pain returned. "Fine. Just knock me out. I don't want to feel the stairway up."
Mai winced. "Sorry. Don't worry. I'll take care of you while you're down."
As Elspeth started a sleeping spell Yuki shook her head. "I'm not too angry. We still got the books."

IcedFairy: What exactly do tools do? I imagine it's largely a function of what they are, but if you could provide general ideas, that would be lovely. If you want a specific example, what would a hammer do?Tools in general are things you sell.
Iced Fairy: What do those spells(aside from Control Weater) even do for us? Or is it a "Get them to find out" sorta deal?Razorvine probably lets you grow the plant of the same name, allowing for the prettiest razorwire fence you've ever put eyes on.
Also: Hyper? It's like restless. Only with a stack of research materials. And SCIENCE!
increase Joans level for 1d10(w/e that means) x $100I am sorry, but I that makes me think Joan just gained 1d10 x 100 levels... What was it meant as though?
Iced Fairy: The Batmai/White Fox thing showed at the end that we got 143 in reasearch mats, but our reasearch only shows 140... wouldn't it say 140+143? Or am I missing something?Whoops!
I am sorry, but I that makes me think Joan just gained 1d10 x 100 levels... What was it meant as though?Alas, no. You may spend $100-$1000 to have Joan gain one level for no action if you wish.
We need an Omnissage
Get Helepolis teamed up with Chou, Elmina, and Glenda to give as an splurge day. With a show.
$100-$1000 to insta-gain a level? I say it's worth it, the range isn't that huge, and we rarely spend, and whenever we do, we almost always get a nice benefit. This falls under "nice benefit" to me.Agreed with both of these.
> Make use of the $100-$1000 Joan Level Up.
> Hibachi Book hunt. Something that can be used by our Doctor is prefered(mainly for a level up), but if nothing useful can be found, research material or books that will aid someone else will also do nicely. Price isn't really THAT much of an issue.
> If our injury does not slow/affect it too much, finish research on our current spell, then Metal Mastery, then Fire Mastery, then Razorvine, and should any remain, Improved Defense Turret.
> Eskarina/Hyper Devil will need something so that she isn't Hyper. let's give her the 'Go Ahead' on researching something/anything of her choice, so long as it either helps us, or doesn't cause issues for us.
Looking at 1st post, it is likly tied to the Instant Win spell, like as a pre-req, and could even be it. I don't want Succubus Manor to end yet, so if we get the Insta-Win spell soon, let's hold off.I had my suspicions about that as well, so I knew that we should wait. I still wanna see what happens though. :3
4th wall sounds like something to research once all the other research has been done.Agreed.
Regarding the hot spring: because it's a cast spell to create it, dies it count as our building phase or our spellcasting phase?Oh right, I need to actually answer this instead of find the answer then go to class. :derp:
>Have Ferra give Sakaki's axe some maintanence.
Yuki stretched and absently scratched at the scar on side. She probably shouldn't do that, but Marie's magical healing had gotten her back in fighting trim pretty much. And there was no chance of the scar becoming permanent so long as she kept getting the treatments.Event:[/b]
Besides today was her first day completely free of supervision. That was something to celebrate.
She frowned slightly at the knock on her door. "Yes?"
Surprisingly it was Mai who walked in. In her normal fashion she didn't speak, just held up a paper.
"Hm... let's see." Yuki glanced at the paper then smiled. "A festival? I like the idea but why?"
Mai just smiled. Fortunately Elle came in. "Oh! I see you saw the paper Miss Yuki."
"Yes, Elle. Do you know why it's being thrown? We still have a week of drought according to Eskarina."
Elle smiled. "Well apparently the food Heather's been pulling in, as well as from the surrounding farmlands affected by your rain spell prevented there from being a serious famine. So the festival is thanking the kami for that."
"Huh." Yuki looked at the paper and shrugged. So they'd saved the day. Who knew.
"Well I guess we'll have to break out the yukatas. And order new ones for you devils. Those old ones won't do."
Elle literally jumped for joy. "Hurray! Thank you miss Yuki!" She then ran off, presumably to tell the others.
***
The festival was almost a normal affair. Almost in that this time there was a constant crowd of devils around her. Admittedly most of them were off running about in smaller groups, but there was always three or four devils at her side. And that got her looks. The odd looks were annoying, but the respecful ones we're fun.
For that matter she was surprised how many people knew the devils. Ruby ran off somewhere with a werewolf martial artist at some point, and Hibachi knew half the merchants. Even Elle seemed to know some of the temps helping at the booths.
Still in the end Mai and her just did festival things. Ate takoyaki, caught goldfish (for the moat this time) and drew their fortunes. Yuki got 'little luck', while Mai didn't say anything, but just tied it to the tree.
After they toured the festival a few times they moved to get the best view of the fireworks. Which happened to be on top of their mansion. They spread out picnic blankets and started drinking as the fireworks began.
It was awesome.
As the show ended Yuki stretched and continued sipping a fine mixed drink that "Shotglass" hadn't yet named, Yuki smiled. "I could get used to this."
"Miss Yuki..." Yuki realized the danger a second too late. Two hands slipped inside her yukata and groped her.
The next second of course she'd flipped the devil off the roof towards the hot spring. She'd gotten used to that too.
Just before Maya hit the water she yelled "Pay up!" Yuki turned to see Marie sigh and hand Cassia some coins.
"What was that about?" she asked simply.
Marie shrugged. "I was sure you weren't wearing the yukata traditionally."
Yuki rolled her eyes. "You know you could have just asked."
A soaked Maya flew up to the roof again. "But then we couldn't bet on it!"
Yuki simply shrugged and waved "Shotglass" over to get her another drink. "Whatever. Anyway I hear Eskarina's got a fireworks display of her own ready...?"

IcedFairy: I've probably asked this a million times, but how can we raise Sakaki's level further? Clever use of special actions, or is it all random praying from here on out?Ferra making her tools from the Artificer's Forge will give her a guaranteed level. After that it's mostly in the hands of the RNG. Though there are a couple more indirect ways of getting large supplies of wood hidden in the other buildings.
All of this sounds good as gems are by far the hardest resource to obtain a lot of.
Make a gem.
Ruby go seek out gems.
Hibachi seek books on gem cutting.
Kirala practice gem cutting.
Research metal mastery.
Mai research a spell
Maria trains
Apophis tries to improve herself.
Joan Trains.
Maya trains more.
I'm for building the restaurant, myself. We've been sitting on it since like week three.
All of this sounds good, and it would be nice if we can build both structures in one week, though I think the Restaurant takes priority.
- Outdoor baths: I'm naturally curious, and the last time we took a chance on a stated unknown (Butler) it paid off pretty handsomely.
Probably want to pump all our research into Metal Mastery.
Nagging feeling that we should try another joint Alouette/Elle/Cassia effort to generally organize the office. Since Fire, Metal and Water are listed, we could have Mai try to research Wood Mastery for us.
*list*This seems good, although lets get Marie to train for medicine, Joan train with styles specializing in self-defense, and have Maya work on mastering European dances.

Yuki was looking over Mai's notes on water spells when she heard the trumpeting of an elephant.Event:Elephants attacked. However your devils held them off long enough for you to use "Operation: Fuck that World." You gained 21 notoriety and 5 morale.
"Eskarina!" she called out.
"Yes Miss Yuki?" the devil replied, looking up from her experiment.
"I'm very busy right now, so I need you to answer me truthfully. Was that an elephant I heard?" Yuki asked very calmly.
Eskarina thought about the matter a bit. "I believe it was Miss Yuki, though I only have a 78% certainty."
Yuki sighed. "Oh. Fun."
Carefully setting her notes down she preped some powerful attacks and headed for the courtyard.
Sure enough as soon as she stepped outside she saw two elephants being held back by an impromptu fortification created by Joan and Ruby. Sakaki was frantically building a second wall for fire support, and Elminia was shuttling ammunition to the two frontline devils.
Yuki sighed and set one of the elephants on fire. Which for some reason caused it's friend to catch fire as well. She became concearned when the barracades caught fire but fortunately Mai arrived to put them out. As the elephants succumbed to the flames Yuki moved to speak to Ruby.
"Explain."
Ruby looked up at her. "I'm sorry miss Yuki! I dug too high and awakened the terror that helped drive the dwarves from the fortress! The terrifying elephants that killed so many!"
Yuki sighed again. "Fun, eh? Well they're gone now right?"
Joan shook her head. "I fear that was only the first wave."
Yuki rolled her eyes. "Elle! Take a note! When I achieve ultimate power I will destroy the world our gem mine is in!"
"Before or after we find a new mine Miss Yuki?" asked the devil.
"After." Yuki then turned to Mai. "I know how to handle this. Keep freezing them while I prep the spell that'll flood the place with lava. It shouldn't take too long...."

> Whatever building we decide on, cast Dig and Foundation on it, discounts rule :) (Capitalism ho?)Not necessarily; for example, with the Artificer's Forge, Dig will save us 10 Iron for 30 Mana. But if we cast Create Gem and Gem to Iron with that 30 mana instead, we'd get 20 Iron instead of only saving 10!
Have Elspeth match proper drinks to the meals at the restaurant. This sounds like it could lead to something good. Lets try it.
Suggestion: We have a lot of money. I suggest giving it to certain succubi in 500 golds lots and telling them to go nuts with it within the realms of their chosen crafts. For instance, give Kirala 500 golds and telling her to make something neato. Or Chou 500 golds and telling her to cook up a storm.
Or initial Time Limit on the Research for Patchy was the stuff we finished a while ago, correct? Did Patchy get our research stuff, or have we yet to hand it in?Patchouli will be collecting the research on week 26.
$500 is a lot of money to the average person. To give an idea of scale, your mansion is already bigger then the SDM (or it would be were it not for time/space hax). While Kirala and Hibachi can definitely spend all of it, Chou's going to have to go 'kitchen stadium' or 'cakes with actual gold leaf' to blow it all in a week.
Yuki stared at the distant flames in concern. She could feel the wind picking up, and the dead grass outside was still dryish from the drought.Event:
Mai shook her head in annoyance.
"Yeah, we don't really have the ambient power to get a good thunderstorm going," Yuki replied. "We should start setting up a fire break."
Mai sighed and nodded then started freezing the walls. Hopefully that would keep the mansion itself safe.
Yuki took off towards the fields. She'd start using her own flames to make a fire break.
***
The firestorm was insane. Yuki was amazed that they'd managed to hold it at bay so well.
Mai's ice had melted away long ago, but she was creating cold water for the massive pump and hose array Eskarina had brought out. Meanwhile Joan and Elspeth were helping Heather get the livestock to safety, while Alouette directed Elminia and Ruby to put out the smaller fires that moved into the area.
Yuki closed her eyes and felt the flames. It seemed like they were starting to subside a little. Or at least move on. These walls of wood resisted their hunger like iron. It was time for the fire to leave.
Feeling that she could safely leave the defense of the manor to her familiars she moved inside, where another minor issue awaited.
In the lobby were the foolish resturant customers who had decided to visit here despite the blaze, and those people living nearby that didn't have magically reinforced homes with moats to protect them. Currently Chou and Hibachi were keeping order.
Yuki wanted to help her neighbors out, if for no other reason then to keep them from needing to steal from her. But the fools who'd come here for a bite to eat should probably be fleeced for all they were worth. Of course Hibachi was good at that. All Yuki needed to do was seperate the two groups...

IcedFairy: If we use the Level action we gained from the forge then used the Demonic Summoning on Ferra, could we use the forge's Level action again?Yep. That's one of the things the spell exists for.
Will the iron market ever start back up again? Or is it dead for the remainder of this awesome game? The iron market has a slight chance to recover that increases each week.
How much is our Noterity affect the price of Wood? Like, what would it cost to buy if we had 0 Noterity rather then our current amount?Wood started at 25.
Is the devil Helepolis Female, like the rest? Cause I keep picturing the guy Purvis had as his avatar as the devil Helepolis :VThe succubi all default to female. It's their preferred form.
Perhaps it's time to have Hibachi rebuild the iron market and center it on us?Attempt this as well.
We use gems for a lot of stuff. Boosting Kirala seems like a good idea. The Demonic Summoning spell doesn't cause any harm. It just speeds the devil up a little and gives them more time during the week allowing for an extra special action.
I forgot, can we Cure Devil on Ferra to keep her in action next round?

When the first series of explotions went off, Yuki just ignored them. She'd gotten good at being able to tell which side of the wall things blowing up were. It was best to let Joan have her fun.Event:Orks! Yeah, Mai was right. You used the scroll to wipe out the problem
The second explosions were a little worrying, but not too much.
The third time Yuki heard something blowing up outside the walls she decided to take a look herself.
She arrived to find Ruby and Joan surveying the fields outside while Eskarina was fiddling with some war engine down in the moat. Apparently it was giving her some trouble as comments like, "It's not even plugged in," and "Engines! HOW DO THEY F*%KING WORK!?" sailed through the air.
"What's going on?" Yuki asked the two fighting devils.
"Some sort of odd demon," Ruby said. "They're attacking in small groups every now and then. We think there's a base somewhere but hopefully that'll get wiped out soon."
"They said something about an eye we had? It's possible they might send another wave," Joan added.
"Some escaped?" Yuki asked with a frown.
"Sorry. The red bikes were very fast," Ruby said.
Suddenly a band of the invaders appeared on the horizon. Yuki sighed. "Oh dear." As the humanoids approached Yuki could hear them yelling out some sort of battle cry. 'Waaaugh!' or something like that.
Then they dissapeared in a massive wave of frost.
Yuki turned to Mai. "Oh hey. Why're you here."
"Are there more?" Mai asked.
The devils shrugged.
"We've got to nuke the site from orbit," Mai said calmly. "It's the only way to be sure."
Yuki considered the matter. "Eh we got that item of Eskarina. Might as well see how big a boom it makes. Away from the house so no one knows it's us..."

Would casting Demonic Summoning on Sakaki allow the construction of a second building through a special action? If so, we could get both.Sadly no. Building is still once per turn.
If we summon the same devil from the future with demonic summoning, wouldn't we be without that same devil in the future when she's summoned to the past?Yes, but you still have the one that you summoned from the future. :)
Sadly no. Building is still once per turn.
Dangit ;-; What benefit would we get from using Demonic Summoning on the Builder devil then? You'd get another special action off of her. So special actions related to repairs and wood production.
Is there anyway for us to increase our building from once a week? Not on a permanent basis though good rolls with Apophis have given you an extra build in the past.

Ferra upgrades herself and Apophis
create 4 gems and transmute them into wood

I'd say we should let go of the Kirala suggestion right now, as the Hibachi suggestion seems more useful at the moment. You actually have 9 actions available because of the spell. 8 and 9 are separate because they'd be first on the chopping block if someone had a new idea.

There was a knock on the door. "Yes?" said Yuki.Event:
Elle walked in carrying a letter. "We got this in the Miss Yuki. Koakuma sent it." One of Elles most interesting powers was the ability to get and send mail almost anywhere. But Yuki had no idea who would send them a letter in an envelope. Patchouli just send the documents.
Yuki looked over the strange seal. It had a snake on it. Shrugging she opened it, then sighed.
To the magicians Yuki and Mai, and their familiars:
Greetings!
We would like to cordially invite you to the refurbishing of the Moriya Shrine. In addition to the normal festivities Lady Kanako and Lady Suwako will each perform a blessing on a lucky household within the crowd.
If you're interested in going please RSVP. The esteemed monk Byakuren can come by to pick you up if you need it.
Respectfully,
Sanae Kochiya.
"Go get Mai would you?" Yuki stated. Elle headed off while Yuki reread the note. It would take a week, but the devils would all want to go.
And Yuki remembered Byakuren as being some hotshot magician. Maybe they could learn something off her.
***
Yuki wandered around the festival. Gensoukyo was really too weird for her tastes. Far too many meaningless fights and strange humans. Still no one mentioned the devils at her side.
This time Koakuma was part of the crew joining and leaving. Apparently she wanted to get in some time with her 'sisters.' Yuki made a mental note to add some stuff to her research later. Patchouli didn't seem to mind. In fact Yuki wasn't really sure why Patchouli was there, since the magician was reading most of the time. She considered asking Alice, but Alice was either with Marisa, that shrine maiden, or Sanae.
Speaking of which wasn't the wind priestess up ahead? Along with Helepolis?
There was a yelp of surprise, then a crack and the devil masseuse landed face first in the path next to them. She scribbled some rather suspect measurements into the ground with her outstretched hand.
Yuki sighed, picked the devil up and planted her on the ground. "What was that?"
"Group research," Helepolis said with a smile.
"You realize I'm going to have to use you as a pinata as recompense," Yuki stated.
"Yes ma'am," Helepolis replied.
Yuki moved to apologize to the shrine maiden.
***
Koa gave Elminia a sidelong glance as they hung around Yuki and the surprisingly forgiving shrine maiden. "Sanae?"
Elminia nodded. "She's nice. Usually. And she's wonderfully unrestrained by common sense. We figure with a bit of work...."
Koa shook her head. "I must have missed something because I don't see it. Oh well." The librarian devil pulled out a peice of paper and started scribbling.
"What's that?" the waitress devil asked.
"The grand unified harem theorem. I'm adding Sanae in," Koakuma explained.
Elminia suspiciously looked over Koa's shoulders. Then her eyes opened as she saw the plan contained within. "You are the best planner ever sis. If you need any help at all...."
"I'll send word."

For some reason, I recall the initial time limit for the Patchy research being 26 weeks.New assignement, though I very much doubt you'll take so long as to need to worry about it.
Since we've done that already, does the game end after week 26, or does she drop a new assignment on us?
Shouldn't the building prices be lower?Right sorry. Forgot to grab a calc and do that. Should be right now.
Build a ranchI agree with all of this.

Yuki watched as her drink shuddered. It had been doing so in a rather steadily disturbing fashion.Event:Giant Lizard. Not a problem. Gained 7 notoriety and way too much 'zilla steak.
Apparently this week was going to be a problem week. It's like fate was out to get her. Or at least trying.
When the rattling started disturbing her dishware she finally gave in and looked out the window.
There, outside, was a massive lizard with odd ridge scales. It towered over the mansion, larger then any dragon she'd seen. Fortunately it was still on the other side of the moat.
She had just started to move to deal with the problem when a beam of light swept out from the moat and removed the creatures leg at the knee. The monsters scream was painful even through the glass, and the shockwave raised by it's fall tested the earthquake preparedness Alouette had been muttering about on and off.
Yuki saw some devils going to clean up the mess and turned back to her work. "Hm... Didn't live up to the hype. Still I'm surprised those sharks survived in the moat. I was sure they were saltwater only."

Yuki awoke with a pounding headache. "Urgh. Man that drink was like having your head smashed in by a gold brick with a lemon slice wrapped around it."Event:It was a loooooong day. Involving aliens. With an Egyptian fetish. Served by Fishmen.
Fortunately Yuki was skilled enough at casting spells 'in an emergancy,' say while drunk, to toss a quick sobriety charm.
That was when she realized she was naked. In someone elses bed. And that someone else was still there.
Moving slowly she lifted the covers to reveal "Shotglass'" naked form.
As sobriety began to make it's way into panic a voice at her side said, "Don't worry Mistress. Considering the potency of the drink neither of you were concious enough to do more then paw at each other. And even that wasn't very successful."
Yuki turned to find Elspeth there. "Please tell me you have clothes."
Elspeth nodded. "Indeed." Yuki's elation dissapeared when Elspeth held up the black leather of her superhero outfit. "Also there's a call for you on the red line. From Lady Shinki."
***
Soon Yuki found herself sinking to new lows of humiliation. Apparently the item Elspeth had asked for was the motherboard to a massive "fox computer." Which meant now Shiki was looking down on the two in Mai's ridiculous outfits from a giant screen.
"You've been doing well for yourselves." She said casually. "In fact there's some talk of you being almost the local nobility in the area."
Both Yuki and Mai twitched at that, they could just imagine Yumeko sharpening her knives in the background. "Uh, that's surely an exageration."
"So humble," Shinki said with a smile. "Well I hope you're still taking care of all my little devils. I felt some weird things from two of them, but I figure that one of those magical residue things right?"
Yuki looked over at Mai who shrugged and returned the questioning gaze. Could Shinki really sense what happened to ALL of her creations? Finally Yuki stated, "We haven't felt anything, but we'll have Marie take a look to see that they're all still healthy."
"That's good to hear. Well anyway, I won't take up any more of your time. I'll let you go back to whatever you two were doing." She winked, "Though I hope you let the devils join in too sometimes."
Yuki flushed deep crimson as the moniter went off. "She has to know about the secret identity thing right? I mean how else does she have the channel right?"
Mai shrugged. "So Joan and Ruby are in trouble?"
Yuki frowned. "Maybe...."
Elspeth nodded. "I have supplies ready for your journey."
***
"Chevron 6 locked!"
Yuki glared at the imposing structure. "What was Ferra thinking?"
Mai just shrugged.
The gate opened.
***
Yuki dodged a bolt from the Staff weilding guardsman and set him afire. There was a return bolt, then an explosion as the rest of Yuki's spell kicked in.
"You done with those fishmen?" she yelled back to Mai.
Mai snapped her fingers, then nodded as the monsters shattered into a million pieces.
Suddenly a great weight slammed into Yuki from above. She tensed as a knife pressed against her neck. Then a familiar voice said, "Oh! The Black Cat!"
The knife and weight disappeared. Sitting up Yuki found Ruby standing there in torn clothes, with a startling array of weapons strapped on. "Sorry about that. My friend and I got trapped here."
"Apparently there are two alien groups sharing the space. One of them tried to kidnap me a bit a go and we're gunning for revenge after messing with my sister Hibachi. The others are trying to turn Joan into some sorta guard drone, though fortunately that can't work since we're bonded to Mistress Yuki."
The little devil smiled. "So I'm running a rescue plan. Could you help?"
"No problem," said Mai with a smile."
-
Yuki twitched then sighed and relaxed as Helepolis rubbed her shoulders. "How did you get so many bruises?" The devil asked.
"Bad research day," Yuki lied.
In the hallway she could hear Apophis calling to her companions, "Come on you two, why do you keep glaring at me like that!? It's disturbing. Especially coming from you Joan!"
"Very bad," Yuki muttered.

800? 25 Mana = 40 Wood, so 200 Mana = 320 Wood, not 800 Wood.*5 mana
Obvstuff:Build Wine Cellar, 20 Gems into Iron, research Wood Mastery (or Earth if people want it more), have Mai and Eskarina help with the research.
As for Marie's training; let's have her offer free physicals for the week.These. Also, I think we should research Earth Mastery first.

Yuki simply glared at the group before her. She didn't need to yell. Cassia was doing a fine job for her. "How could you have been so stupid! You know these things cost money! And you knew we were going to be spending $1000 at the end of the week! Now we're $460 in the red and only because Ruby brought some cash in from whoever she killed!"Event:Patchy picked up her work and extended her lease of Elle. Also you went into debt.
Hibachi twitched as Cassia glared straight at her. "You should especially know better Hibachi! Household finances should not be running on credit! You've shown what damage that can do personally!"
Hibachi's head wings drooped. "Sorry about that. I didn't realize the housing budget was going to be so big this week."
Yuki sighed. "That's true. Okay Cassia, this looks like partially my fault as well. I only told Alouette that."
Cassia looked over at her. "Eh? Told Alouette what?"
"Patchouli's going to be picking up the papers personally, along with the rest of her mansion apparently," Yuki sighed. "So I set aside some funds for showing off to them. Still..." Yuki resumed glaring at Hibachi and Marie, "you shouldn't be depending on next weeks income to make up for this weeks debts. I know Elle gave you the figures."
Yuki glanced down at the numbers like the might suddenly change, but they didn't. Oh well, they had plenty of other assets. If nothing else they could sell stuff to get into the black easily. No reason to worry too much.
"What's done is done. You two go help Alouette and Elspeth with the preparations. We can fix this easily at least," the two bowed apologetically then headed out.
"Um, Miss Yuki, does that mean Master Patchouli will be arriving soon?" Elle asked quietly.
Yuki blinked then frowned again. She didn't like being reminded Elle was effectively on loan, but that was something Yuki would have to deal with eventually. Neither Yuki or Mai was Elle's true master, so Elle would always be subservient to Patchouli's desires first.
"Hey, Elle. Would you like to be under my command instead of Patchouli's?" Yuki asked.
Elle winced. "Please don't ask me loyalty questions Miss Yuki. It will only hurt someone." She looked away. "Still while I like Master Patchouli, I wouldn't be hurt if she gave you my contract."
Yuki smiled. "Fair enough."
***
The party was a grand mess.
Yuki and Mai both found themselves instantly disliking Remilia. Fortunately her maid seemed to be able to keep her in line.
Unfortunately Lady Shinki dropped by suddenly, and there was a sudden excess of head maids in the mansion. Fortunately Sakuya seemed to realize she was off duty, and Alouette wasn't stupid enough to start something. Even more fortunately, Shiki had brought food as a gift, so the extra guests didn't blow the budget even further.
Patchouli was almost a relief to deal with after that, though Yuki still occationally felt jealous when Elle got wide eyed around her real master. Then again it must be hard to be the familiar of a distant mage when all your sisters were working for your boss. Yuki made a note to keep a friendly eye on the office devil.
The early research seemed to actually bring a smile to Patchouli's face, and she eagerly accepted another year of Elle's time for another research book.
And by then the Mansion should be all finished.

How much time till the new Patchouli Research is due?52 weeks. If you actually go that long I will be very surprised.
Can demonic summoning be used to have Elminia support herself?Yes though it will look very weird.
5 Gems to Iron, 15 Gems to Wood... yup. It's enough. Wait, we can get a lot more wood per turn then 800. I'm silly. More like 1600. Spend all the remaining mana on Gems to Wood, we'll need it next turn anyway.

Yuki looked up from her tea set. "Another guest?"Event:Rikako visited.
Alouette nodded. "This one was nice enough to give us a card."
Yuki looked it over. "Rikako Asakura. Genius." That caused her to raise an eyebrow. "Did she say what she was here for?"
"She said she wanted to study our moat Miss Yuki. She's willing to pay board as well."
Yuki blinked, then smiled. "We can do that. Invite her in."
A few moments later the woman entered. She seemed, well not sane, but level headed and reasonably safe.
"So, you want to study what in our moat exactly?" Yuki asked.
"I'm interested in your laser sharks," Rikako replied.
Yuki didn't really know what to say there so she drank another cup of tea. "I thought they'd finally died out."
Rikako adjusted her glasses. "Apparently they've moved to deeper waters."
"Why does my moat have deeper waters," Yuki muttered.
Relizing that line of thought would get her nowhere she sighed and rang a bell. Alouette quickly responded. "Alouette, please get our guest a room next to Eskarina."
She turned back to the youkai scientist. "Eskarina is responsible for that craime against, er, genetic alteration. Feel free to ask her questions in her spare time."
Rikako nodded. "I'll do my best to keep my research out of your way."
---
Yuki yawned as she left the lab. She really shouldn't do all nighters, but she'd finally gotten a breakthrough in creating the Earth Mastery crystal and she didn't want to lose it.
As she entered the hallway Rikako exited on of the rooms. "Ah, Good morning," the scientist said.
"Hrm... More goodnight for me. I've gotta crash," Yuki replied.
Rikako smiled. "I hope your research profited from your efforts then."
"Yeah, it did thanks." Yuki yawned again as the visitor waved and moved into the lab.
The magician was halfway down the hallway when she realized that Rikako actually had the room across the way. The scientist had just come out of Eskarina's room.
Yuki shook her head. She didn't want to know. She was going to sleep and forget about it.

Hibachi looked hurt. "This was completely legit! I just got a good lead."
Yuki raised an eyebrow. "Really? Where from?"
"Well you see, I was talking to Ruby about the worlds she found through that gate thing. And apparently in one of them there's a plant that's a great headache cure. So I used the money to set up a trade agreement with the villagers that harvest the stuff." Hibachi said.
The devil smiled. "Apparently it works really well on most devils, so buisness boosted really fast. The plant's seasonal, and requires a lot of manufacturing to work at a useful level, but I made good cash selling it to a company that can make madicine out of it."
Yuki raised an eyebrow. "Please don't tell me we're in the narcotics buisness now."
Hibachi looked slightly sheepish. "Ah it's not that. Well we aren't anyway. I don't know about the places we sold the stuff to of course."
Yuki just sighed. "Well whatever. Not my problem."
After a moment the magician asked, "What's Marie think of it actually?"
"Er, I didn't quite understand everything she said, but she's looking into other uses for it. Seems to think it might have potential in curing some diseases."
Yuki nodded. "Well good work. Tell Heather to start growing some then too. Er, unless we can't."
Hibachi shrugged. "No idea. I'll go find out."

Yuki was relaxing in the new spa (again) when a massive voice boomed over the mansions grounds.Event:Invasion! Adventurers try to steal your house!
"Hear ye, hear ye! As part of our great and noble effort to purify these dark lands, we the Fellowship of the Golden hand, hearby claim this mansion and declare it to be a temple dedicated to light!"
Yuki's eyes narrowed. She reached for her robe. "Okay, I'm going to kill these people myself."
Yuki's mood soured further when she saw the group was somehow inside the gates. "What the hell, why are they inside Joan?"
Joan looked confused. "I don't know. They just appeared inside!"
The intruders were dressed in a style that had gone out of fashion even in Makai. One wore robes, two others plate with strange symbols on them and the last heavy leathers. The man in the robe just waved his hands. "It's a simple magic, though of course beyond your comprehension."
Yuki was stunned by rage.
"Indeed." One of the men in plate said. "But fear not, we have no plans of using our superior might to abuse you. We simply shall civilize this place."
Yuki proceeded to set them all on fire.
She might have overdid it a little she decided, when the shockwave knocked her flying. Fortunately she was able to correct herself before she hit the ground. "Alright someone come and..."
Yuki's voice trailed off as she realized two of the figures were still standing.
"Looks like the meatshields are dead again," said the man in robes.
"Indeed," Said the other man in plate. "I'll raise them tomorrow I suppose."
Yuki considered the matter for a moment, a second later Mai flew next to her and nodded. "Joan, get everyone together as a group. Me and Mai will keep them pinned for agroup strike."
"Oh dear, that sounds dangerous." The mail in armor waved his hands and suddenly a creature of pure elemental fire sprang into being. "I suppose we should break out the summons."
"Indeed, instant kills might fail against demonic magic resistance."
Yuki swore. This was going to suck.
---
Mai and Yuki tried to hold alone, but the waves of summoned monsters backed by attack spells pushed them back. They'd been forced to the hot springs and many of the devils had suffered minor injuries when they got their first break.
"Oh dear. Out of spells," said the man in the robes.
"Alright! Now's our chance!" Yelled Yuki.
The man in armor stepped back and tapped his friend on the shoulder. "Right then. Off to that temporal distortion plane."
They dissipated.
"Did we win?" Elle asked.
The answer rapidly became apparent when the two returned. "Ah that was a good nights sleep. Shall we get back to it?"
"Let's."
"Fuck." said Mai.
---
The resulting battle forced them back into the house. At this point everyone'd taken some damage, and Joan had been wounded trying to save Mai from some strage phantasmal attack. Still the devil fought on, keeping the others from breaking and running. Yuki made a note to praise her after this was done.
Which hopefully would be soon. Yuki raised her hands as the man in robes entered the lab.
One of Eskarina's strange devices began to whine. The mage raised his hands to create a shield, but the scientific blast cut right through it. He colapsed, chest smoking.
There was a cheer from the devils, but Yuki didn't celebrate yet. The man in armor was still around, and he didn't seem worried at all. Something seemed wrong.
A bag on the mage's person opened up and a duplicate of the mage exited it. "Oh my, they killed my simulacrum."
"Indeed. I told you to be careful."
"Well then, let's kick things up a notch."
---
They'd been forced down into the wine celler by the time they had a chance to pull off another trap. Joan had been wounded again, but refused to leave. Ferra and Helepolis had also been hurt, and were already retreating to their final defense point. Yuki was wondering if they might need it.
This time the man in armor was first through the door. Mai was there to greet him with an ice blast.
He opened his hand to return a fire spell, when Yuki used her most devious trick against him. The flames in his hand spiraled out of control. With a gasp of surprise he caught fire, then exploded.
This time there was no cheer, just a rain of projectiles at the mage. However he immediately fell back.
Then there was a flash of painfully bright light, and the armored man was standing again. Unharmed.
"Oh craft contingent item, where would I be without you?"
"Dead apparently. Shall we finish this?"
"Indeed."
The next few seconds was a hellish wave of noise as the two attacking magic weilders unleashed everything they had. Mai and Yuki were forced to retreat, and Joan was knocked down sheilding Ferra from further harm.
Just when Yuki was about to surrender a voice called out, "Oh no!"
The fight somehow stopped as everyone turned to look at Ruby. She pointed at an object between the two invaders. "They've found the heart of Venca! Anyone who cuts out their own heart and puts that in its place will gain cosmic power! How could we have lost that! Surely we are doomed."
Yuki looked incredulously at the devil. Surely they wouldn't fall for THAT?
"Hm... I think I should take it. You've got those alignment restrictions," the mage said.
"Oh no. I need it more. And I can be one step off," the armored figure replied.
Yuki and Mai waved their familiars silent as the arguement grew, then became heated. Finally the two men started cursing and pointed at eachother, each calling upon forces beyond the veil.
The robed figures soul was ripped screaming from his body and cast into a black maw, while the armored figure turned to glass, then shattered.
Yuki let out a long sigh, then moved to check on Joan. "Marie, get over here! Alouette, check damages! Everyone else, make sure there aren't any more summons about.
Cleaning up was going to be a bitch.

Actually.I agree with all of the above, though I think we should save up the gems for that barrier.
I'd recommend getting some towns and that barrier up and running. Because those dudes are going to be back. After buying more protection from minetown, and a couple new intrinsics.
I agree with all of the above, though I think we should save up the gems for that barrier. While I agree now that the barrier would be nice, getting to build twice per turn > building once per turn for like 4 turns to get the barrier.
Clearly either Iced Fairy planned this, or we got the really crappy end of the stick. Barrier is likely the only thing that prevents those idiots. This was decently high end, but you've been surprisingly lucky about avoiding all the other terrible events.
Iced Fairy, what was that recent event based off of? I was thinking of the Diablo games or some other MMO, but I'm not certain.Worse. Dungeons and Dragons, 3.5.
Could be even worse than that, it could be 4.Avoiding the edition way, I'll state simply that when it comes to having to FIGHT the characters you want them to be playing 2nd or 4th.
In a sane manner, when was the earliest point we coulda gotten access to Double Build/Apophis Lv3?There was no sane manner to do that. Apophis wasn't supposed to have a level 3, but you pushed for training via special actions so I tweaked things.
Can Devil summoning be used several time per turn?Yes
Can Devil summoning be used several times on the same devil in one turn i.e. summoning Elminia so that she can train, support her own training, and support Ruby's quest for gems all on the same turn?Yes, but there may be some confusion.
Yes, but there may be some confusion.
In what sense? Just so we are completly clear on what you meant.Three of the same devil running about might cause them to forget which task they're supposed to be doing this Tuesday.
Three of the same devil running about might cause them to forget which task they're supposed to be doing this Tuesday.
Four might lead to general confusion and morale oddities (+ or -)
If you actually go into 5 or six events of import may occur.
Are there any more structures or spells to permenently increase the amount of mana we get each turn? No.
That should be Elminia doing the supportingElminia is the waitress. While she can support it'll mostly be in supplying cold drinks. Not an auto success

Would Marie being given money allow her to treat multiple casualties?Marie can always try to treat multiple casualties. More money would help her succeed.
Yuki looked at the devil standing before her. "Are you sure? I didn't see anything in my diviniations."Event:Torrential Rains! For the next week heavy rains will flood the area. Little damage is expected due to Heathers work.
"Well I think it's a couple of days out, but I'm certain the rains are coming," Heather replied.
Yuki sighed, "And we just built the gardens too. Any suggestions?"
Heather nodded. "Actually yes. We can set up some tarps to help the gardens and we should probably plant something like iceplant out in the nearby fields."
"Why iceplant?" Yuki asked.
"Well the drought kind of killed a lot of local plants. Our fields are fine because you summoned the rain, but the other areas are short on plants, so the rain might make mudslides. We need something to hold the soil in," Heather said.
"Hm... Well we can fix the weather magically, but your way sound easier. Elspeth is cleared for light work, have her plant the seeds." After a few seconds Yuki added, "And Mai is bored, so have her quick grow the plant for you."
Heather smiled happily. "Thanks! I should have everything done before the first rains start!"
---
Yuki slapped a sound dampening spell on the window. It wasn't just rain apparently. There was hail too. Fortunately their windows were protected against that, but it was still loud as all hell.
"There. Now Allouette, how's the garden holding up?"
"The hail's damaged our flood control work, but it shouldn't be too damaging. I expect Heather to fix it easily," the devil replied.
"Good," Yuki turned her attention to where Mai was scrying. "Any other damage Mai?"
Mai just shook her head. Apparently Heathers plan had worked.
Yuki smiled. Heather's advice had paid off. It was anticlimatic, but sometimes that was a good thing.

If not, meeting room, so as to lower the price on the Tower. This can wait, since meeting room doesn't seem like it really does much else then that.
If we BOUGHT wood, we'd still be able to build two things this turn, right? It would cost a bit over 2000 gold, but we have more then enough money anyway.Indeed purchasing (and special actions related to purchasing) come before building.
I like that Maid's Quarter. More maids theoretically means more things we can do. Or at least more fun mischiefs. Also get a defense tower going.
Maya needs a healin'.
Yeah, Fight Crime is actually a really good idea.

If we can add one more action to the list, and IF we have the money for it, Build Tool for the Scientist.Eskarina is now in line ofr an item.
Yuki's face slowly slid into her hand as the buzzing began. She wasn't certain as to it's cause, but she had a sneaking suspicion.Event:
Sure enough the clock slid back from the wall, revealing one of the two butlers. "There's a call on the red line," Elspeth said.
Yuki wanted to jump out the window. But a small, obviously insane, part of her was morbidly curious.
She also had to admit that the leather outfits were pretty cool.
So she stood up and followed the devil into the cellars.
Of course Mai was already in costume and in front of the call screen when she got there. "Good to see you Black Cat," her friend said.
"Yeah yeah, let's get this over with." Yuki looked up at Shinki. "What can we help you with this time?"
Shinki frowned in her normal cutesy fashion. "Well, we seem to have gotten some threats from a
terrorist. I believe the White Fox knows him. The threats are in the forms of a riddle."
"The Puzzleman!" Mai clapped her hands together. "I knew he must have escaped our last encounter! We're right on it Commisoner!"
"That's goddess, or lady at the least," Yuki whispered.
"Thank you so much White Fox, Black Cat. The riddle was carved into the market square fountain. We hope you can get to the bottom of this quickly."
*** (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9SrpcqbG6o)
Sure enough there was a riddle carved into the fountain. One that made absolutely no sense.
"There was an old fox in her den,
Who would only cry loudly for "CHEEEEEEEN."
But now where the mice stole away, this cat's going to play,
Find the riddle, or you'll have a bad day!"
Yuki thought the whole thing was garbage, but Mai peered at it like it had some sort of deep
meaning. "It's another multi part riddle. We'll have to remember the ones that came earlier. Let's see. This one means...."
"It means this guys' a moron," Yuki said. She cast a quick tracing spell on the riddle, then smiled as she got a solid match. "Thought so. Poetry that bad's gotta be a signature. The culprit's in a warehouse on the south side."
Mai blinked at her. "But I just figured out we were suppose to go to Hokkai for the next riddle."
"Yeah too bad. I'm not going to play along with this idiot's gaming fantasies."
*** (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9SrpcqbG6o)
Yuki jumped through the window to the surprise of everyone involved. She also had to admit this part was cool too.
With a few quick moves she disabled half the guards, while Mai took out the rest. The man in the stupid question mark costume just stared at them in shock.
"How! How did you solve my puzzles so quickly? It's just not possible! Travel times alone...."
Yuki smiled. "Ever hear of the Gordian knot?"
"Huh?"
Yuki punched the man in the face, laying him out. "Kinda goes like that."
Mai frowned. "That was anticlimactic."
"But fun," Yuki replied.
"Well at least you're getting into the spirit of things now."
Yuki's eyes widened. "Wait! No I'm not! I'm just doing this because I don't want you to get hurt, I mean, beacuse you dragged me along I mean, Augh!"
***
Elspeth looked at her future self. "So that's why you were giggling all this week."
"Yep. I also remembered to record it this time."

Yuki looked at the reports. "Hm... As annoying as those maids can get, they do make the place look more impressive."Event:
Elspeth nodded. "Indeed miss. And as useless as they may seem, they still help Alouette out some."
"Anything else we need to discuss, Elspeth?"
"Actually yes Miss Yuki." Elspeth nodded at the clock. "You see aquiring all these maids has drawn us some attention..."
Yuki groan. "Not again..."
"I think you'll find this mission of some personal intrest as well Miss Yuki," Elspeth said.
"Very well, lead on."
---
Yuki was disturbed at how comfortable the "briefing chair" was becoming. It was a bad sign.
Mai pointed out a place on the map of Makai. "We've been getting reports that there's a band of pirates operating out of here. These pirates are a little more bold then normal. In addition they've been kidnapping some locals."
Yuki frowned. "Pirates. I don't like pirates."
Mai smiled. "Well then Black Cat, you should enjoy busting them up!"
"I suppose you're right White Fox," Yuki replied with a grin.
Then she facepalmed. MAI! Her name is MAI!
Being underground was obviously getting to her.
---
The pirates fortress was very well situated. There was no position that it could be approached from without drawing attention.
Of course that didn't matter because the lookouts were all sloshed.
Yuki looked over the inner courtyard and smiled. The outer fortifications were strong. But inside would be easy pickings. The crew was spread out all over, none of them on the airship, and the prisoners were all nicely locked up in pens on the left side.
Mai nodded beside her. Alright, I'll go free the prisoners while you take out the guards and cause a panic. Then we'll meet up and take down the captain."
Suddenly one there was a light as someone flew up to the guardpost where they were sitting. Yuki blinked in surprise, as did the pirate. Mai was in motion, but she was just a bit too slow.
"NINJAS!" the man yelled on seeing their masks. Mai knocked him out, but the whole camp exploded into chaos.
"Free the prisoners," Yuki shouted, as she jumped down and started layering the place with flames. A good number of building caught fire, adding extra confusion to the place.
She knew she sould really wait for Mai, but she had something to do here. She kncoked down a few random roaming pirates then made her way to the captains cabin.
The captain didn't disapoint. He was a huge man, with an eyepatch, a parrot and a buchy beard. "Pah, you taint no ninja! Ye're a superhero says I! I'll have you swimming with the barracuda before dawn!"
"Really?" Yuki summoned a bolt of fire and tossed it at the man, who shot the blast with his pistol.
The two fought hand to hand for half a minute before Yuki was able to dodge away and toss the two poisoned shuriken into the man's chest. As the man died she said calmly, "You pirates are so silly. Ninja don't exist."
The job done she headed out to find Mai there. "Sorry. He wasn't much of a fight though."
Mai blinked then shrugged. "Okay. I freed the prisoners so now it's just cleanup. Let's make sure Yumeiko doesn't have too much work."
"Sure thing," Yuki replied.

Kirala smiled as she pointed at the charts. "So with these collector's plates of the White Fox and Black Cat, we'll easily make back everything Ferra spent this week."Event:
Yuki forced a smile. "That's great! I assume since they're collectors plates we can't keep this up for long though."
Kirala shook her head. "No. We'd get losses if we didn't switch subjects."
There was a knock at the door followed by Alouette stepping in. "Forgive me mistress but there's a lawyer here to see you."
Yuki frowned. "Did you set it on fire?"
"Yes Mistress. He appears to be fireproof."
Yuki sighed. "Then send him in."
The smoldering demon that walked in set Yuki on edge immediately. Devils that became lawyers usually had some sort of power to enforce contracts, because otherwise they'd get overridden by the 'might makes right' clause. Thus it was always safer to kill them quickly, before they could tell you what exactly you were in violation of. Ignorance was a perfectly acceptable excuse in the eyes of demonic law.
Unfortunately the devil tossed his legal documents onto the table before Yuki could freeze him.
He cleared his throat. "I'm here on behalf of Glimstein Enterprises, to demand you immediately stop printing the colectors plates of the characters White Fox and Black Cat, as our company has legal ownership of all goods involving those characters."
"What?" Yuki picked up the documents, but they were a mass of legalise. "That's nonsense. I know for a fact that they didn't give you permission for that."
The devil adjusted his glasses. "Ah, I'm sorry, but strangely 'superheros' don't have ownership of their personas legally. An odd ruling, but one that's held up in court."
Kirala swore. "Well whatever. The runs over and we won't start another one, so buzz off."
"Ah yes. Well then there's merely dealing with existing damages." The devil opened up another set of documents. "We require 10,000 wooden abs within 3 days for damages. Quite generous in my opinion."
Yuki grabbed those papers. "Wait, abs haven't been in circulation for a millenia! And 10,000?"
"Well if you can't get the money we'll have to seize your assets. Specifically this mansion." the devil replied.
Yuki swore, then pulled a lever that caused a blast of ice to freeze the lawyer solid.
Alouette waved her hands to have the fairy maids drag it out. "While amusing I fear that won't solve our problem."
"I know." Yuki said. "We have to somehow get 10,000 peices of a currence that doesn't exist or else."
Ruby poked her head in. "Um, actually there's a couple of places that we can get to via the gate that still use abs."
Yuki smiled, "Excellent!" Then she frowned again. "But how are we going to get 10,000?"
"Simple!"
Yuki looked into the hallway to see Maya and Glenda standng there wearing suits.
"We're getting the band back together!"
Yuki buried her face in her hands. "Ruby, I'm counting on you..."
***
The devil had sadly thawed three days later, so Yuki was forced to see his ugly face again.
What was worse was that none of the devils they sent out to get the funds had come back.
"So do you have the funds?" he asked.
"We've got another 8 minutes," Yuki replied.
"Late," Mai muttered.
Yuki sighed. She really didn't want to have to resort to plan 'murder the new owners and take the mansion back.' It would be a pain.
Suddenly the gate opened, and a strange vehicle sped out of it, right into the fountain. It was followed by several similar vehicles, except those had flashing lights and sirens, and they cleared the walls, landing on the other side in a series of crashes. This went on for some time.
To Yuki's (mild) surprise Maya and Glenda steped out of the vehicle as Ruby pulled herself out the back. "We got the cash!" Maya cried triumphantly.
"Yes!" Yuki smiled. "Give the guy here the money so we'll be in the clear and I can kill him!"
Maya dashed over and handed the devil the sack of coins. He opened it up, adjusted his glasses. Then smirked. "Ah, I'm sorry. This is only 9,999 abs. One is counterfit."
"WHAT!?" Maya and Glenda stared in shock, then started choking the lawyer. "Don't give us that shit, we worked hard for this!"
"That's unessicary you two."
Cassia walked forward and pulled the lawyer devil roughly away from the two performers. "It seems we're in default. I take it then the mansion goes to the chief shareholders of Glimstien Enterprises?"
The devil took some time to adjust his tie. "Indeed."
Cassia nodded. "Then I shall cut out the middle man and turn it over directly."
"Hey! Why do you have the deed!?" Yuki asked.
Cassia shrugged and winked. "Trust me." She then turned to Hibachi. "Who owns the shares?"
Hibachi smiled. "It's in both thier names, so no real change." She then turned to Yuki and Mai. "Oh by the way, I bought a small company. Bit of a hostile takeover, but it turned out well in the end."
Yuki'blinked, then laughed. "Nicely done you two." She smiled at Glenda, Maya and Ruby, "And a good effort on your part. As a reward you can help with getting rid of the rest of the executives."
"No layoffs?" Mai asked.
"Nah. We still want them doing work. I mean, money is money right?"

"SON OF A BITCH!"Event:You got your money back from some dirty thieving bandits.
Yuki jumped about a foot at Hibachi's outburst downstairs. Putting aside her formulas she headed down to see Alouette standing next to the merchant devil with a rolled up newspaper. Given the way Hibachi was holding her head it had already seen use.
"What happened Hibachi?" Yuki asked.
Hibachi looked like she was going to go on another rant, but a cold glare from Alouette caused her to calm a bit. "I invested the money in a shipment, but some theives busted into the storehouse and took the whole lot! Dimensional magic. No one knows where they've gone." Hibachi looked downcast. "I'm sorry Mistress. I screwed up."
"Well it's not over yet," Yuki said. "Let's see what Yumeko turns up. I'm sure someone's got enough pull to bring out the big guns here."
Hibachi sighed and nodded. Helepolis grabbed her friend by the wrist and started leading her outside. "Here I'll help you relax...."
Yuki turned around and headed back to her office then shut the door. Then she started to pace.
After a little while she sighed, turned to the clock, and pulled the lever to open it.
It was time to humiliate herself again.
***
Yuki watched Elspeth's hands fly over her keyboard. She had no idea how the devil managed to get ANY information to compute, but she imagined it was part of the devils innate ability. A butler needed to be able to do anything, so Elspeth could do anything. But only to a certain degree. And only if Yuki REALLY needed it.
She idly wondered if Alouette could do similar things if she was the sole servant of a master. Or maybe the rules for maids and butlers were slightly different.
After a few moments the devil hit the enter key. A map of the frozen plains next to the fortress of Pandemonium appeared. "Apparently the theives are here. They have a base carved into the ice. It seems these devils are immune to cold, so the freezing temperatures don't affect them."
"Good work old chum," Mai said, causing Yuki to wince. "Any suggestions Black Cat?"
"We use my transmutation abilities to make us immune to cold then your ice powers to cut a way into the base," Yuki replied.
"That seems like a good plan," Elspeth said. "Just don't use anything too powerful while inside. You don't want to colapse the complex."
***
Everything went better then expected.
Well was going better then expected. Yuki had a bruise from a lucky right cross before she'd broken the mans arm, and Mai'd been grazed by an ice attack, but these devils were brittle. A good punch or kick usually broke something.
Yuki jumped forward and used a spinning roundhouse to put another one out of her misery. They were starting to break now. At this rate...
"Pah! The White Fox. And that Black Cat. I'll get rid of you then finish my operation."
The boss appeared, right on schedule. Fat, arrogant and stupid powerful. Yuki had to leap away from a massive block of ice that tried to crush her.
Which meant Mai got the satisfaction of shattering the thug to bits with a flying drop kick.
As the two moved into the wherehouse behind the fleeing bandits Yuki blinked in surprise. "Huh, looks like they were slow offloading their stuff. Guess we get a bonus."
"Now now Black Cat. It's best to get these back to their true owners."
Yuki sighed. "I suppose so." They'd draw attention if they got all this stuff.
***
Hibachi was all smiles after the shipment was returned. However Yuki still had some misgivings.
"Ah! The White Fox is so cool!"
"And that Black Cat. I'd like to take her home..."
"How is it possible to fool them of all people?" muttered Yuki to herself.

I suddenly wonder if building a planar portal to MotK is possible, now that we've researched Break 4th Wall.
Another defense tower this time, or should we go for the artwork? I'm not sure what else we can do with our gems at the moment.
Let's not forget Patchy's research.
Maybe give Shotglass some money to fill up the liquor cabinet...These sound good.
Actually, now that Yuki and Mai are aware of us, we need to distract them for a while; let's drop some Yuki/Mai doujinshi or fanfiction on Ruby while she's adventuring. [/joking]

Actually, now that Yuki and Mai are aware of us, we need to distract them for a while; let's drop some Yuki/Mai doujinshi or fanfiction on Ruby while she's adventuring. [/joking]First you would have to find such a thing.
I find it incredibly ironic that they can only overcome us if we specifically direct them to do so.I find it incredibly amusing you are considering directing them to do so.
If you do this I promise they will set Purvis on fire. And others as well.
But his overcoat gives him superhuman fire resistance, as well as resistance to cold, so I think he could handle them nicely.
Also resistance to the devils' advances.
Let's drop Kirala's training, and drop fight crime. I wanna see what happens!Agreed.
Let's drop Kirala's training, and drop fight crime. I wanna see what happens!
There was a knock on the door. Yuki sighed. "Must be this weeks event," she muttered as she opened it.Event:Creeps. Lots of Creeps. The defenses handled them easily though.
Elle stood there with a confused look on her face. "Um, I think you probably want to know about this..."
She held up the Dis-organizer which chimed *bing biddly beep* "One o'clock, fight off waves of summoned monsters."
Yuki swore as, predictably, the clock began struck one. Then the defense towers started firing.
"Wonderful."
---
Yuki stood next to Joan surveying the carnage. "So what's the situation?"
Joan pointed at a hill just out of spell range. "Well it looks like those idiots that nearly busted up our mansion are over there." There was a green flash at the place. "And they're summoning monsters to test our defenses. Seems like they don't want to mess with the turrets directly."
"Can they get past the turrets?" Yuki asked. She didn't want to deal with those douchebags again.
Elspeth moved up. "It's likely they can. If they get enough monsters in nearby cover, they can safely teleport in while using those monsters to distract the turrets. However Eskarina has a plan to stop that." The maid pointed to where Eskarina was working on one of the two massive towers.
Yuki flew over right as Eskarina finished screwing on a focus mirror. "There!" The scientist looked over. "Ah Miss Yuki! I think I found a way to keep the monsters out!"
"Wouldn't the turrets do that normally?" Yuki asked.
"Not fast enough to stop all of them. However I've developed an add on for the towers! By adding these focus mirrors I can send a weaker blast of energy to an area of the battlefield without using up all the towers power. With enough focus mirrors we can immitate a battery of defense towers that can pick off all the enemies." She smiled. "Also we should be able to use your power, as well as miss Mai's, to create fire and ice sub towers."
"But won't that keep them from being one shot kills?" Yuki asked.
Eskarina nodded. "Sure but we can burn out the focus mirrors to get that back if those adventurers start getting too close."
Yuki nodded. "Alright. I want you to work with Elspeth to get a real time model working so we can best plan our defense. Mai and I will indicate where these sub towers need to be made."
"Roger!"
---
"Well that was a waste of a day," Yuki muttered.
Mai nodded.
Elminia handed them some drinks. "Still we did beat their army. Without a lot of casualties this time."
"That's something I suppose," Yuki replied.
"I wonder if these weekly interuptions will stop when we deal with those responsible," Alouette mused.
Yuki sighed. "One can only hope."

Looking at things, I think we should Build another Turret, and the High Class Resturant(didn't we build this earlier? or was the the basic?)That was the basic restaurant.
I vote, just for the sake of getting it out of our hair, to dump research into Research for Patchy. As a note, Patchouli's research will take at least double what it did last time and is due on week 78.
^_^ That was awesome.
Just to be certain, will Planar Portal take a build slot?

I vote, just for the sake of getting it out of our hair, to dump research into Research for Patchy. Through our aided research actions we end up getting an extra 40+ research per week, thats 225+ a week. May as well dump into Patchy this week, and if it's close enough to completion, the week after we split again.
For the Gems to *Mat* spells, we should put a bit more focus into Iron. Unless finishing all paths brings the Clock Towers price down THAT much, we will need to grind Iron
I feel we should drop Hibachi's wheel-and-deal, and if anything, spend 500-2000 on getting Iron and/or Gems.
Build the RestaurantAll of this sounds good, although if those jerks are back, we may want to focus on getting gems for the barrier.

3) Apophis builds a defense tower

I wonder if the loot she'd bring back would keep them from overrunning us or make them fight harder. :ohdear:
Yuki took deep breaths as she steadied herself. She didn't approve of this nonsense. The only reason she was down here was because the secret lair had a really nice gym. And she was only in costume so Elspeth wouldn't comment on it. Normally she didn't bother with such things, but, well... Chou was a REALLY good cook. And Yuki had her pride.Event:A crime boss got angry at you. But they were no problem.
She'd just finished up and was heading towards the showers, when she caugh movement from the corner of her eye. Turning she swore she saw something sneak behind a stalagmite.
Normal people would have thought it was a rat. But Elspeth was too much of a stickler for cleanlyness to allow such things to last long.
Yuki called upon her subtler magics to give her the echolocation abilities of a bat. She gave a supersonic squeek, and listened for it's return.
The results surprised her. There was a large pool behind the rock. That wasn't supposed to be there.
Yuki readied an attack spell and moved to see behind the rock. She almost thought she'd misheard things when a tendril of darkness flowed out at her and slammed her backwards. She tumbled across the ground.
She'd probably aquired a good deal of bruises, but even someone who'd stuck with danmaku battles knew to move after taking a hit. She rolled to the side and leaped up into the air as another tendril struck at the area.
To her surprise the ooze creature flowed up into a humanoid form. "I was here for White Fox, but you will do just as well Black Cat. That annoyance's raid last night has set me back millions. I'll take it out of your hide."
"Yeah sure. Why don't I just boil you," Yuki said as she tossed a massive wave of fire across the room.
To her annoyance the creature dodged. "Hrm... Your magics are strong. But alone you shall fall to Flowze." It struck out with several more pseudopod, which Yuki was forced to dodge, while returning fire.
After the initial surprises though Yuki had the upper hand. Her opponents attacks could target better, but Yuki could burn him if he over extended. She began to push the monstrosity back.
"The white fox will be down here any second," Yuki stated. "Then you won't be able to run."
"Hshhhh! So it seems. But I have another strategy." The creature suddenly turned and ran.
Right towards where Elspeth was.
Yuki flew after as fast as she could but when she arrived she found she was too late. 'Flowze' had it's tentacles around Elspeth's neck, while Mai stood fuming to the side. "Now," the creature said. "Take off the mask or I break the devil's neck."
"You won't get away with this!" Mai said, reaching for her mask.
Suddenly there was a distortion and Elspeth appeared behind Mai. "Sorry. It took me some time to manage the teleportation magic without being able to speak."
Yuki and Mai didn't bother replying they just froze then blew apart the monstrosity.
Yuki sighed. "Well I guess we better hunt down and finish off this thing's gang."
Mai nodded. "Indeed. Such villainy can not be allowed to persist. And we'd best refreeze this thing and drop it into a portal to someplace... unpleasant as well."
Elspeth nodded. "I'll get right on it"

Summoning a devil that brings in resources, like Kirala for Gems, increases the amount they bring in by however many were summoned(assuming mass number doesn't affect the income oddly) right? Like 3 Kirala's = 3x Gems/215 and 4 would be 4x/290?
If so to the above, we aren't building towers AND people agree to it, Summon Devil 4 times on a devil we will need to decide on.
Viable options for 4x summoning: Eskarina, Sakaki, Ferra, Kirala. Any others?
Personally, I'd like to see five Rubys running around, fightin' Nazis 'n all that. Not to mention that she's a useful devil that, if things go awry, we can afford to not have available for a few weeks.I'd love to see this as well. :3

First, how did you come up with the rules for this game, and, if you created it yourself, could I have a copy of it? I'm a bit interested in doing this as a side game for my D&D group.I totally didn't make it up mostly on the fly. I swear.
Second, I suggest that, the week before the clocktower and the Win Game spell is cast, that there be a combined special action: all of the devils against Yuki and Mai. :3

Only if the portal to not-MotK and subsequent Ruby raid comes the week before that. :P
Iced Fairy: Is it possible to have Yuki or Mai acompany Ruby on a hunt/raid? Would it offer any bonus effects?Of course. Anyone can join anyone else in a special action, though some combinations don't work very well.

Run Amok in MotK x 7I didn't think we'd made the portal yet, though.
I didn't think we'd made the portal yet, though. You have a stargate due to a special action.
Yuki opened her eyes as she completed the spell. She smiled as she saw 5 Rubys standing before her.Event:TIME PARADOX. A paradox spirit banished you beyond time and space for 6 weeks. Fortunately Alouette kept everything together in your absence.
Then she frowned as she realized the world was black and white, and unmoving.
She looked around. Mai should be standing at the back of the room, but she was gone.
"Mai?!" Yuki called. There was no answer. She started to feel worried. "Allouette?! Elspeth?!"
"Mai is elsewhere. I thought it best to seperate you two." Yuki whirled to find and elderly man wearing a dark suit and a bowler hat looking at her. "Now, Yuki was it? You've done a little too much time magic, so I've stopped time for a bit. I want you to sit here and think about what you've done."
"Who are you? How'd you get here!?" Yuki yelled.
"I am Chronus. And I got here because you summoned me." The man bowed slightly. "I am a paradox spirit."
Yuki felt fear stab through her at that. She'd only heard rumors of the wandering spirits that prevented mages from destroying the universe, but the older mages all seemed to quiet when they were mentioned.
Still it was far more likely this was a trick. She summoned a blast of fire to remove the man. "Well then, let's test this!"
The man sighed and waved his hand as the fireball approached him. It seemed to flicker, then shrink to nothingness. "Well I guess you need more time to think. You may call me when you wish to set things right."
Then he was gone.
---
Yuki didn't know how long she wandered the frozen hallways of her mansion. What's worse is it seemed like time was smoving when she wasn't there, but as soon as she stepped into a room, the occupants would stand there. Frozen in a moment.
And she couldn't find Mai anywhere.
She tried treating it like an elaborate puzzle. She tried looking up some limited time spells. She worked through every mental charm and illusion dispelling technique she could think of, all to no avail.
Finally she couldn't stand it any more.
"Chronus! Chronus! You win! I'll do whatever it is I need to do! Just let me out of this time trap!"
The man appeared in front of her. "Ah. So you're ready to go back then?"
Yuki twitched, "I've been ready for some time. What do I do to get out."
The man smiled and pulled out a pocket watch. "Simple. You must dispell your casting, and stay away from time magic for, oh 4 weeks I say. Simple isn't it."
Yuki nodded. "Fine, fine. I'll do it. Just let me and Mai out."
"Very well. I shall take your word for it. Don't disapoint me now."
And the colors returned to the world.
"Miss Yuki!"
"Miss Mai!"
Yuki looked around to find herself in the middle of the dinning room, surrounded by her devil servants. Mai was looking around as well, just as confused.
Then she was burried under at least 4 devils. "You're back!" "I thought you were gone forever mistress!" "Where did you go!?"
Yuki just hugged the little devils back. She was finally home again.
After a few minutes they each returned to their feet, to find Alouette standing before them. "Welcome home my masters. Everything is in good repair. Just as you left it." There was only the slightest tremor in her voice as she continued. "We are glad to see you home again."
Yuki gently removed "Shotglass" from her ankles then walked over and hugged the head maid, with Mai soon following. "Thank you Alouette. I'm sure you've all done very well."
Once again, despite all the madness they caused, Yuki was glad they'd taken in these devils.

"Hey Alouette!" Yuki called from her office.Event:A Christmas miricle. A nice party.
The maid devil was there in a moment. "Yes mistress?"
"Has Ruby come back yet?" Yuki asked.
Allouette shook her head. "No, but she hasn't sent a distress signal. And since the worst thing that could happen to her is being 'parmabanned' as they call it, I wouldn't worry."
"That's good," Yuki went back to her paperwork. "Oh, and Alouette, I'm giving you tomorrow off."
"There's no need for that my mistress. I enjoy doing my job," Alouette said.
Yuki sighed. Then a thought struck her. "Well it's Christmas tommorrow."
Alouette blinked. "I'm a devil."
"Exactly. Don't you all need to have a loud debaucherous party to help people forget the reason for the season?" Yuki pointed out.
Alouette smiled brightly. "That's a great idea mistress. Thank you. I'll go tell the others."
Yuki breathed a sigh of relief. That would also help the devils who were making the party arrangements keep their cover.
---
Yuki was idly wondering what the heck Heather was building with Apophis' help when the gate opened an Ruby dragged a fat man through.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, and his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot. His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry.
And he was pretty much tied up from head to toe.
Yuki didn't want to ask who he was. But Ruby dragged the man in front of her and just smiled.
So she hesitantly said, "So what happened, Ruby?"
Ruby immediately burst into an explination. "So I was lurking about, looking for an opening, but I couldn't find anything. And all the easy targets were people who sent us on this mission anyway. So I figured we needed to do something clever. Something unexpected. Something that wasn't specifically asked for."
"Then I saw father Christmas here and I immediately knew what to do." She gestured to her prisoner. "I stole MotK's Christmas!"
Yuki sighed, then put her face in her hands as Mai began whistling 'Mr Grinch.' "You know, you're hurting innocents by that too."
There was a collective shrug.
"And that means a small band of children will soon be in our compound, to rescue Christmas, and you know how that goes," Yuki stated.
"Oh, whoops..." Ruby said.
"Hm... Still I suppose we could try negotiations," Yuki said. "Untie the fat man."
The not so jolly saint Nick looked up at the magician. "Look I've got a lot of work to do young missy. You need to let me get back to delivering those presents!"
Yuki shook her head. "Perhaps we could make an arrangement. We let you go, and you skip a few people."
"Look I made the list, and checked it twice, and I'm not going to be bribed by a bunch of devils," the man in red replied defiantly. "Do your worst."
Yuki thought for a moment. Her worst would be a bad idea. She knew how those stories went.
She needed another plan.
"Hm... While you're here tell me, how do you deliver all the presents in one night," Yuki asked. "Is it some kind of time magic?"
"Hrm, it's more the spirits allow me to bend time a little," Saint Nick said.
"So keeping you here would really annoy the forces of the universe responsible for time," Yuki continued.
"Indeed, so you'd better let me go," the old man said.
Yuki nodded but kept talking. "Also if we had you as a sheild we couldn't get 'banned.'
Meaning there would be an awesome fight scene. And we might be able to set Purvis on fire."
"That's exactly right. It would get you on the naughty list for sure! So please let me go!"
"Okay," Yuki cut the man's bonds.
There was a long pause. Finally Mai spoke. "What."
"Look, we know that this is a horrible plot to gain entertainment out of us. So invading them, like they asked, would only bring them joy. In fact we've got a perfect setup here. It hits most of the things that they want us to do." Yuki smiled. "And we're going to ignore all of it. That'll piss them off more then anything else we could do. Sorry for the inconvenience Father Christmas. If you want you can come back here when you're done for a party."
Saint Nick recovered quickly and smiled broadly. "Ho ho ho! Very kind of you missy, but I've got a long way to go. But in return for being so reasonable about it, let me give you this."
The fat man opened up his sack, and a pile of presents fell out. "I normally don't include 4th wall based morality in my list, but this time I'll make an exception. I'll be giving out a little more coal this year, so you can take the extras."
"Thank you!" replied Yuki and several of the assembled devils.
The fat man turned back as he headed back to the gate, and waved with a twinkle in his eye.
"Merry Christmas to all." Then he jumped through.
"And now, if you three'd be so kind..." Yuki said, turning to the conspirators.
"Right!" Heather said and flipped a switch.
There was the crack of fireworks and the scafolding around the building fell away to reveal another temporary sauna house, with festive (waterproofed) decorations, and a giant sign saying 'Thank you Alouette.'
"Let's start the party!" Shotglass proclaimed.
---
Yuki was proud that the devils had mastered the spells that allowed the room to be steaming hot everywhere, while still keeping "Shotglass"' bar and Chou's entrees cool.
She was mildly concerned that the offical dress of the party was a towel.
Fortunately she'd learned a spell to keep towels in place. It was something she picked up early on after the devils moved in.
There was also her modesty to consider, but apparently Chou had vetoed the mirrored floor and a couple of 'brain crackers' from the bar had removed the rest of her worries about that. In fact Yuki was feeling fairly good.
"Oh, Mistress Yuki!"
Yuki looked over to see Alouette waving at her from near the tree. Seeing as this was her party, or at least, more her party, Yuki wandered over.
"What is it Aloue... mph!" Yuki's question was cut off by Alouette kissing her. Her brain took a quick break to try and figure things out.
Right as she realized she really should break away, Alouette leaned back. The devil pointed up. "Mistletoe," the devil said with a smile.
Yuki groaned, but smiled. It was a fair cop. "You got me."
Then someone jumped at her and she felt her lips being claimed again. This kiss was a lot more... passionate then Alouette's had been. And Yuki could taste alcohol on the other persons tounge.
Finally the kiss broke. "Mer'y Chris'mas," said Mai with a smile before colapsing to unconciousness on top of Yuki.
Yuki felt her cheeks heat up, her brain started running in circles. What was going on!?
Fortunately at that moment a camera flash went off, allowing Yuki to regain her focus.
Even better, she was sober enough to only light the camera on fire as she destroyed the evidence.

Cassia nodded. "Dead certain. Someone's been siphoning money out of Hibachi's buisness work. I mean above and beyond Hibachi's own stashing."
The merchant devil winced at that. "I just like having a buffer for a rainy day. Anyway it's definitely not one of us. Alouette's the only one that obsessed with saving, and she wouldn't do it on principle."
"I checked over the records of our suppliers and customers," Elle continued, putting down a stack of papers. "None of them seem to be showing an increase in funds. It must be someone stealing from us."
Yuki tapped a letter opener against her desk. "I see. Well keep looking into it. If you find anything let me know."
"Yes Mistress!"
Yuki sat there for a little while after the three left. Then she sighed and walked over to the grandfather clock. "Alright, let's handle this personally."
---
Yuki and Mai looked over Elspeth's shoulder as she rapidly typed everything into the supercomputer. "Will this actually work? I thought we needed more data." Mai said.
"We'd need more data to find the culprits directly, but we have enough to get an estimate as to where the money is being stolen from," Elspeth tapped in some more data. "With that we should be able to get a good place for you to stake out."
"Then the Black Cat and White Fox can strike," Yuki said.
"Righto old chum!" Mai said with cheer. Yuki realized what she'd just said and shook her head.
Further recriminations were cut short by a *ding* from the machine. Elspeth looked up. "Huh, that's odd... You're losing money from everywhere? That must mean...."
"It's a spell," Yuki said. "Alright, it's time to find Ruby. She's got a new mission."
----
Ruby waved at the two magicians. *Ah, please don't speak out loud. We don't want to set off the adventurer's alarms. I've put a telepathy spell up for you.*
Yuki nodded in reply. It constantly surprised her how powerful Ruby had become.
*Good work citizen,* Mai replied mentally. *We need your help to help track down some people magically stealing from a variety of businesses.*
Ruby's eyes widened at that. *Stealing from several different places at once? Well well, now. You should see this.*
The three moved to look around the rocks. Yuki had to pull up a far vision spell, but what she saw made her bite down on a curse.
There, surrounded by a pentagram with money bags at the corners, were those two damn adventurers.
Yuki swore. They couldn't beat those two, even with surprise. Too many cheating contingencies.
But with the new defenses, just maybe....
*White Fox, I think we can get rid of these criminals for good. But the startup will be dangerous.*
*Danger is our middle name!*
*Alright. On three. One, Two, Three!*
Yuki popped up and tossed her most powerful flame spell at the two. It didn't reach them, but it took their sheilds down. Which menat Mai's spell left them in a broken bloody mess.
Before the two could ressurect, Ruby had scratched up the pentagram and grabbed the bags and a few books. Then they fled.
"Won't they come after the books?" Mai yelled over the air currents as they fled.
"I'm counting on that," Yuki replied.
----
Yuki and Mai were back in civilian clothes and out into the hallways just seconds before the first shot hit the barrier. Alouette was there to meet them within seconds. "Mistress Yuki, Mistress Mai, those two have returned. Joan's manning the towers but...."
"I've got it under control," Yuki said, with more confidence then she actually felt. "Are the New Year's preperations set up?"
Alouette blinked. "Of course, Mistress."
"Good. And did you buy Kirisame brand fireworks?"
"Yes Mistress."
"Excellent. Continue the plans as normal. I'll be working from the tree house."
----
Yuki sipped a weak cocktail that "Shotglass" had put together as she watched the clock.
At first the house had actually been in danger. Joan was doing a fairly good job of blasting the two adventurers and their summons, but with the power drain on the shields, the barrier was close to failing.
Yuki had been more laid back. She shot the two when they relaxed, or when they were getting close to finding a weak point, but she didn't try for a victory.
The adventurers had 'taken advantage' of the weakening defenses, pressing harder and burning through more and more spells. And all the while losing track of the time.
The devils had started out worried about Yuki's strange plan, but now they were mostly going about their business. Though they were still wary.
That was going to change though, Yuki thought as she looked at the clock. "Alouette! I want everyone at the treehouse in five minutes!"
Five minutes later Yuki pointed at the clock while the devils looked on. "Alright everyone, it's a minute 'til! Everyone grab a champagne glass!"
Joan looked at her in confusion. "But we're under attack!"
Yuki smiled. "Joan, non permanent spells above a certain level expire with the new year in Makai."
Everyone looked at her in shock as she and Mai began counting down. "10, 9, 8..."
Then the devils joined in with gusto. "7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..."
"Happy New Year!" Everyone shouted as the barrier flickered off, just long enough for a pair of surprised (and defenseless) adventurers to get hit by a wave of fireworks that doubled as artillery shells.
Yuki smiled as that particular problem vanished for good.
The rest of the evening was spent toasting, avoiding new years kisses and burning through incredibly expensive champagne so she could enjoy a headache in the morning when they went to the shrine to get fortunes.
In short, it was all perfect.
So when are we getting to Succubus Manor 2: Knocking Chronus Down A Few Pegs?
I'd be up for this.As would I.
