What's interesting here is that I tried a new technique where I color my lines, then set them on Multiply with the opacity kicked way down. Lets the colors do more of the talking, makes for a nice soft modern painterly look. I really kind of like it, especially since it lets me get away with leaving the lines a little rougher. Definitely worth further experiments in the future.

That looks pretty nice, what does Manga Studio do exactly? Just text and screentones or more?

MangaStudio handles tablet input interestingly--the line comes out thick and then kind of 'bounces' or snaps back to the proper pressure-adjusted weight. The results do look like something you'd get from a real ink pen, though. Definitely takes some getting used to, but it's an interesting tool, and helps me ink nice and fast.
Another feature that I like is how it handles panels--you can generate panels just by throwing down some lines, and you can make each panel its own layer group automatically. Text support is actually kind of weird (if you change the properties of some text and then make any additions to that text, the new characters come out in default font, which is pretty annoying), but again the software can generate dialogue balloons for you, which is a lifesaver.

Both characters have a Western flavor--in my case, this is because she's from 17th-century Germany, and is patterned after Landsknechte (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landsknecht) with a touch of Maximilian armoring (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximilian_armour)--large breasts, and wear their hair up. Both characters are also magical girls. I think the similarities end there.

Your bodies look very plump and detailed, but I think this one most exemplifies a weird feeling I had about your art. The face looks a bit flat. This one looks rotated strangely. I guess anime style in general is pretty flat, but your faces have a weird flatness to them that contrasts with the 'fleshy-ness' of your bodies.

I think it might be the missing of the cheekbone area from time to time (the space between the eye and ear). I mostly see this in pages: 1, kinda 3, kind 13, and 14. Page 11 doesn't irk me for some reason. I feel like the eye also melds into and rotates into this area just enough that the face ends up looking a strange cylindrical sort of flat. If that makes any sense. Ignoring this is a stylistic trait that I see in a lot of anime artist styles, but it doesn't work for me on yours for whatever reason.
I tried sketching something out (http://puu.sh/ddJug.jpg), but kinda failed to make any point. 1) was supposed to be a bad example but ended up looking half-alright, probably because the sketch turned out looking really anime stylized; and 2) was supposed to be what I meant by the 'cylindrical flat', but I couldn't really show it.
But I think you get the general idea of the area I'm talking about.

This was a photo study, so the difficulty was in copying down all the details in the picture just right. You can see from the original photo (http://maullart.tumblr.com/post/112994089107/1-4-gsc-freeing-laura-bodewig#notes) that there are a lot of different textures in play, and I actually ended up cheaping out on the pantyhose just to save time.
