Hey guys, I'm finally back  :V

So here are my scripts:

By the way, this isn't a prediction or anything, it was just a good subject to use for my script.

The difficulty's okay, really.

The fourth nonspell is very disappointing, though. Random colors random speed random direction bubbles ain't fun nor Ran-ish, at all.

The first spell is okay, but isn't it supposed to be a survival card ? i couldn't defeat it even with continuous firing/bombing.
The second is really easy, there's not much to dodge ...

The rest is fine and fun ! Good job.

I won't upload a video for now, as I assume you'll make the appropriate changes ... (I look forward to them, btw)

Thanks, I'll update it later. The good thing is that my fps problem actually is fixed.

I guess it's a little like Tekno Princess where it technially isn't a survival card, but it's hard to capture. I will change that anyways though. I didn't realize that it was that still hard to capture even with all the bombing and stuff.

I should not be expected to dodge that last spell. Just so you know.

Also, yeah, the first spell card and its issue.

EDIT: It is possible to capture... with invincibility on. If you stay on top of the boss while pressing I (the invincible key), you can capture it. Even with ReimuA.

It's okay, it's not too hard at all, the only hard one (to me) is trail of a shikigami. No matter how many tries i go for it, i always die or have to bomb. But the scripts not too easy either.

Just as Ginko said, her first spellcard is pretty much non-capturable. Either increase the damage-ratio or increase the time given.

The non-spell after crushing ruins was fun to play, but crushing ruins could use a bit more frequency. The other spellcards were fine, though. I also like the work you've given on the various effects seen in-game.

Pretty much you should never really tamper with the damage ratio on regular occasions. Decrease health instead. Or increase the timer.


Aside from these sorts of decisions, the script was really, really easy. Nothing spectacular, but it works.

Neither do I, that's why I playtest with default players..

Uploaded the video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCkJl7okf08). That's still not a perfect replay though, I didn't capture the first spell (though i aclknowledge it's very doable) and I died out of laziness and imprecision during the last spellcard :)

The last nonspell and danmaku portals got alot better.

Well, here's my replay. The only one i had to bomb on was trail of a shikigami, other than that i had some close calls on the last spell.

Well, all you have to do is make circles around ran so her "trail" is just a ball of bullets. Also, I didn't change danmaku portals (I don't think  :V)

First a bit tricky, but after a few tries it became easy. Nice spellcard, i haven't tried those things (obj_collision like) in my spellcards. Btw, you should put a timer in the task (i guess it's a task) that activates "Flandre rape time". I went above the invisible line at start, which made Flandre go nuts as she entered.

Okay, Half of the Ten Desires Extra Stage is up for download! The stage ends after the midboss. There will be alot of changes to the script so any mistakes you might spot are probably going to be fixed.

Thanks. The background is missing a lot of details :V I was already planning on making a better background anyways. So that will definitely be fixed.
I will also edit her last spellcard a little as well.

I felt like I needed to update my project since I haven't been doing anything for a while, but the boss is not quite done yet and I didn't want to post an unfinished script so I added some screenshots of the boss. So far the boss script is 3/4 of the way done but I still need to update the stage some more.

- Extra stage: Good. This must be something just with my computer, but the background is shaking violently during the stage and bosses (the pillars move fine and the effects at the top of the screen are fine too). Not sure why this is, but it is hard to look at.
-Midboss
 -Nonspell 1: Yep, that's Miyako alright.
 -Spell 1: Cheapshotted by a curvy laser, otherwise good haha
 -Spell 2: Fun. Probably could be just a touch more difficult.
- Boss:
 - Nonspell 1: No comments (for all these with no comments, means I basically have no problems with the difficulty or style. I like the overall noncard theme)
 - Spell 1: I'd probably make it so the bullets spawning closest to the player aren't allowed to have the max speed. Overall the speed is fine, but if several particularly fast bullets spawn when the lasers are still really close, it can be frustrating
 - Nonspell 2: No comments
 - Spell 2: Normally I don't like these kinds of cards (with bullets being spawned by familiars that pass near by), but this one ends up being predictable/readable enough that it works well
 - Nonspell 3: Doesn't wall unfairly - just requires lots of unfocused movement (e.g. second part of Sanae boss nonspell 1)
 - Spell 3: Hmmm... Initial impression was not good. I think it's actually more predictable than my first instinct was though. Might actually be ok
 - Nonspell 4: No comments
 - Spell 4: Would rather the 'traps' go as quickly as the front of the lasers, don't really like how they poke out through the trap as it moves outward.
 - Nonspell 5: No comments
 - Spell 5: Cool spell. I'd give a sound effect as a warning before the bullets start moving again.
 - Nonspell 6: No comments
 - Spell 6: No comments
 - Nonspell 7: Agree with previous, would probably make it into a pattern of some sort
 - Spell 7: No comments
 - Nonspell 8: Same as Nonspell 7
 - Spell 8: I like it
 - Spell 9: Difficulty increase over time needs to be stronger, more than just adding a few lasers
 - Spell 10: First phase probably too hard (too many pellets), second phase good, third phase might as well just be survival too (homing imbalance, unles s you changed the health based on shot type in the script).

Overall, quite nice. Some cool card concepts and good difficulty.

Yeah, that happens with me too but it sounds like you have it worse because it's not exactly "violent" for me. This is probably because I had to make the base big so it doesn't end while playing.

Thanks for the reviews! Although I do have to disagree mewkkyuuri on spellcard 3, imo with practice it should become easier.

Well if I played that spellcard for the first time I would have thought the same thing too.

Actually, I made it darker so it's easier to see.

This is awesome !

But the background is horribly shaking during the whole stage and the non spells which makes it seriously bad. Please fix it.

I liked the nonspells. I preferred your old second spell for Yoshika, dunno why you just dumped it.

Some spells are a little bit too difficult imo (like the trapping lasers one, the random purple bullets making it random) and some are surprisingly easy, like the red explosing bubbles one.

Yukkuritip... if you see people post player scripts when reviewing your boss fights/stages, please downloaded them and play the stage/boss fight through with that player script to see how it is...?

- the circle fairies feel like they should be aiming at you.
- spawning enemies at random places is really really bad. :V

Review, because I have free time, and for another reason.

Player -  DSanae A
Stage - Pretty good. Although the parts with the waving enemies going down spouting bullets behind them could work better as a spell card than a stage pattern, but that's probably just me.

 Midboss
-Nonspell 1 - Nice, it remained faithful to Miyako's original danmaku.
-Spell 1 - This was a bit too easy for an extra stage spell, even/especially for a midboss. I could easily move through the kunai and the lasers. There was no real need to move up or down.
-Spell 2 - Again, a bit too easy. Reminded me of ExKeine's 2nd Spell. But otherwise it was fun to dodge!

Boss
-Nonspell 1 - OK
-Spell 1 - The lasers can make you panic if they spawn on top of you :V. A bit more variation would've been nice, even it were just the color. But good spell nonetheless.
-Nonspell 2 - A little difficulty jump here but otherwise OK
-Spell 2 - Not too good with bullets near me that shoot bullets but it was alright
-Nonspell 3 - A bit easy
-Spell 3 - Wayyy confusing at first due to the bullets seemingly changing direction randomly. But it was easy enough to learn the pattern. Then again, really confusing.
-Nonspell 4 - OK
-Spell 4 - The red bullets were kinda useless as your movement can be timed to make them go in the direction of the previous "trap", which you already dodged
-Nonspell 5 - OK
-Spell 5 - Reminded me of Perfect Freeze. You could also make the bullets ease out of their time-stop-ness but it's alright
-Nonspell 6 - OK
-Spell 6 - The laser can be easily disregarded if you just stay where it spawned :V
-Nonspell 7 - Agh confusing bullet hitboxes hng
-Spell 7 - OK
-Nonspell 8 - see nonspell 7
-Spell 8 - Pretty curving bullets are pretty, but easy. Also i do not see the relation between the name and the pattern
-Spell 9 - Easy, and lasers are also too easy to dodge.
-Final Spell
   1st Phase - OK, but the bullets are a bit too random
   2nd Phase - Easier than the first, really. Also again, avoid using random bullets
   3rd Phase - GIANT DIFFICULTY JUMP HOLY-- oh nevermind. Last few seconds are like Gengetu Rape Time tho  :o

TL;DR make some spells harder. Oh and the BGM doesn't loop correctly, but that's a bit out of your control, so it's okay.

Also, please, at least tell us where you got the boss picture. It can be insulting to the artist, whom I just happened to have a nice little chat with.

It's not, she drew this way before Ten Desires was even known. Tumblr's not the only place she posted this pic.
I think she either made that statement as a joke (ZUN using her art :V) or just attached her old pic of the character because it coincidentially had the same theme with Ten Desires (spirit/ghost theme)

She meant that I was the only one who could use it because she specifically told me I could use it (and for some reason, up to now I haven't.)
She's mad because a.) You didn't credit her, or her tumblr, or b.) She didn't give you permission, nor did she specifically say you could use it freely.

@gallowsCalibrator oh wow, you actually did sign up and post. Didn't think you'd bring it *that* far though. :O

My only problem on this is that if she wanted to have people give credit to her before using it, she should not have said/joked that it was from ZUN, since ZUN's work can be used freely here and should have given herself credit in the first place.

EDIT: I'll just replace her with a walfas character of something since im updating it anyways.

I think it would be ok if you just credit her in your post, or attach a readme file listing the stuff in the stage. But I'm not too sure yet, so you can either wait for her response, or PM her.

I guess it's time to let this little feud end, and start seeing some danmaku \o/

This script is awesome, it must be one of my favorite scripts i've played. The difficulty is really good, but the last two spellcards of the extra boss could be harder/faster/have more things happening at once.

Btw, who did the extra boss theme? ZUN, you or the same person who made the boss art?

The music is a ZUNified version of the Family Mart jingle, someone on Nicovideo made it.

I'm going to make last words like Lucas, but with UFO characters this time. Before I make them all, I wanted to know if my Nazrin last word is a good start.

I like the design very much, but it does seem a bit more like an in-game card than a Last Word. Not very intimidating I guess, even if it's still difficult. If you slow the pendulums down just a tad, I'd give it a Hard difficulty. From there, if you add a second purple wave in the other direction, Lunatic for sure.

Played both versions. The difficulty is good now, but it's still lacking that 'Last Word' feel somewhat. I might suggest adding more bullets or effects that look cool (or even threatening), but don't end up significantly impacting the difficulty.

Do keep going with this though; I'll be interested in playing it when it's done.

Also, went back to the Ten Desires Extra today - screen isn't shaking anymore! This is one of my favorite scripts that I've downloaded so far, keep up the good work!

Decided to post the updated 10D extra stage, since I haven't updated this thread in weeks, no huge updates, just some tweaks with the spells and some nonspells.

Also, I'm having troubles with Bulletforge. It won't let me update the original project's file for some reason and I had to actually make a new project in order to post it. Don't know if everyone already knew about but I thought I should post about it just in case.  :wat:

EDIT: OH! I almost forgot to mention that I added a txt file with the list for credit, for Mitch.

Actually I changed it to Mitori's theme because I thought it would fit better, it would be great if you could find the creator of the kappa way as said.
