Title: Player Scripts for Danmakufu (Old wiki dump, 01/26/2014)
Post by: Naut on February 28, 2010, 11:37:12 PM
For those of us without our own thread, here is a place to dump your player scripts, as well as receive critique.

If you're interested in making your own player scripts but don't know how, you can refer to Stuffman's Player Script Tutorial (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?topic=210.0) for information on how to do so. No, there isn't a video tutorial, suck it up. There will be no hand holding in the fine art of player scripting.

There is a page on the danmakufu wiki that keeps track of player characters made by us, feel free to add your player character to the list here (http://dmf.shrinemaiden.org/wiki/index.php?title=Players).

Naut this Remilia is probably the best player script I've ever seen. It's perfect in terms of visuals, balance, and intuitiveness. Having the difference between unfocused and focused bombs being changeable while the bomb is still on is brilliant.

Actually, it just needs an original sprite :V

I am bad at spriting. Really bad. If somebody can make a HQ Remi sprite that I can use I'll re-upload with it though.

Yeah the lasers stand out way too much and distract from enemy danmaku. Other than that I love the nice extra touches you added like the extra effects that are created when the normal shots hit the enemy. Also, holy shit bomb. I can see why you got distracted with them so much.

O hai, I forgot about this. Updated version 0.5 (http://bulletforge.org/u/blue-harbor/p/nazrin/v/05)

(http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss352/Orichalc71/NazrinA1.png) (http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss352/Orichalc71/NazrinA2.png)
Code: [Select]
speed: 4.5/2.5
total DPS: 228 (108 straight/120 homing)
unfocus bomb: 4s, ~500/~1400
focus bomb: 5s, ~1000/~3000

Just needa figure out sound effects, then it's on to B-type. (Pagoda/lasers, of course)

... what.... the hell, these player scripts are gorgeous, Naut.

Though imo I think alpha blending and slight transparency for the lazors would help make me not crash into things. Good job, anyway. You never cease to amaze, Remi A's bawmb is like furious seizure-inducing sex, <insert generic sycophancy here> etc.

... clearly, my verbosity and 1pt font do not agree.

I started working on a Character...
It?s preaty basic... just five "needles" pointing at the boss.
I don?t think It?s worth uploading already... I will upload it when it,s done to 50% (at least one bomb and finally adding the hitbox).

Nazrin A (http://bulletforge.org/u/blue-harbor/p/nazrin/v/05) now 100% complete. Sound effects, graphics, and everything.

Probably won't start work on NazB 'til after the current contest's over, and as I have a much looser idea of how I want it to turn out (not to mention I've yet to figure out lasers), it may be a good long while 'til the next update.

Since I haven't actually released anything lately, here's one of the players for my upcoming game. Nhimor (picture (http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z5/redchaos87/Nhimorhappycolored.jpg)), a sentient cute amoeba - bet you didn't see that coming. He gets four "options" that he can place anywhere on the field, and they follow in formation while focused. He's tough to use, so I recommend practicing against a dummy script before you try actually fighting anything.

Download here (http://cleru.poke-rp.net/Nhinee.rar).

(Edit: If you prefer a normal Touhou hitbox to the new style, just open up the file nhimor.txt and follow the directions near the top.)

Not really that hard to use. If all else fails, hit shot 4 times and then focus for the standard fare, although having the ability to put options anywhere you want is very nice. The only little thing is that focusing pulls the options closer to you, which isn't really helpful if you have a setup where the options are on one side of the screen and you're on the other. Also the bomb seems fairly weak but I guess that's because I'm a silly bombspammer :V

Also man that bomb is so prettyyyy :* :* :*

Post by: Azure Lazuline on April 30, 2010, 04:34:32 AM
The reason focusing pulls them towards you if they're too far away is to balance things out a little (it was somewhat abusable before I put that in), and also so the options don't go way off-screen. If you want the options to be on one side of the screen and you to be on the other, you're going to have to do it unfocused. Also, the bombs are weak because he gets four of them, and because his basic shot is pretty powerful and versatile.

Greetings! It's about time I posted my own stuff here, right? I've been wanting to do this earlier, but I wasn't satisfied with the stuff I had.
They're meant for my game but they also work standalone.
DL here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4176466/Rumia2.zip

Rumia A has an unfocused spread shot and focused homing shot. She can throw TNT at the opponent, or place timed explosives on the field.
Code: [Select]
Speed: 4/1.5
UF DPS: ~90 (reliant on distance)
F DPS: ~180 (if under boss)
Bomb: ~2000
Special Ability: 200
Faceplant TNT: 3000
Option-only DPS: ~80

Rumia B has lasers that damage stuff close  behind her as well as in front of her. She can warp from one side of the screen to another like ReimuA in SA and she can collect all items on the screen like ReimuB in SA.
Code: [Select]
Speed: 4.5/1.5
DPS: ~258
Bomb: ~3300 (on top of boss)
Option-only DPS: ~80

Rumia C can change the direction of her shots, and create magic circles around her.
Code: [Select]
Speed: 4/2
DPS: ~184
Bomb: ~2800
Special Ability: ~1000 (only on the edge of the ring)
Option-only DPS: ~15

I'm happy my first character actually works

Well, it's good for a first try :3 A few comments though:
- try making your bombs a little less blinding... they're so bright, and sometimes it's hard to see where your character is
- I don't know where the homing shots are targeting (probably cause I used alice to check your character, and she has a hell lot of dolls :V)... I don't know about this, but it may be a good idea to have homing attacks make bosses the primary target
- My graphics card goes weird with DrawText so... I can't check your DPS...
- "This character's name is name, confused?" yes... considering that you forgot to rename a lot of things in the sakuya player script you probably used as a base for this player script :V

Your sprites are honestly way better than anything I can make  :] (I completely suck at making any type of graphics :ohdear:)

May still need some DPS and graphic fixing, but here's Flandre :V
BulletForge (http://bulletforge.org/u/kylesky/p/flandre-player-script/v/1)
P.S. Don't use her on scripts that need a lot of processing power cause she needs quite a lot herself...
P.S.B. She may be a little blinding XD
(cause my post down there might not be obvious enough :V
fixed version of flandre (http://bulletforge.org/u/kylesky/p/flandre-player-script/v/11/archive))

Images were either from Google Images, image rips of various stuff, danmakufu scripts I have and the ones that suck were made by me via photoshop...

Flandre A:

Flandre Scarlet (Penetration Type)
Shot:
Forbidden Barrage "Counter Clock"
With
Manipulable Laser Cannon

Bombs:
Unfocused - Taboo "Kagome, Kagome"
Focused - Taboo "Laevatein" (not that well made :/)

Press C to toggle between offensive and defensive mode.

Flandre B:

Flandre Scarlet (Spread Type)   (more like self-destructive spread type :V)
Shot:
Forbidden Barrage "Counter Clock"
With
Wing Utilization

Bombs:
Unfocused - Taboo "Cranberry Trap"
Focused - Forbidden Barrage "Starbow Break"

Press C to use up a crystal.

Also
there it is.

My Keine on Normal: died 3 times before the first non spell ended :V

Chie has very flawed design.

There are a large number of spellcards where it will simply not be feasible to hit the enemy with her focus shot, which means she'll have to fight through them with no-focus; when you consider this, her outrageous speed (obviously meant to support her focus attack) becomes a crippling problem.

Here's some general advice that applies to pretty much all game design: don't make things with gigantic advantages offset by gigantic disadvantages, because it doesn't even out. It means the thing will often be either broken or useless, depending on how relevant the disadvantage is at the time.

Still in beta testing.

DPS:

Unfocused: 234
Focused: 543 (Close range only)

Press c to activate the auto pilot. Still has some bugs, won't see Lasers, too. Or biiig bullets. Nothing bigger than a bubble.

Chie's problem is that while she dodges bullets, she flies into others.

Chie keeps dying on my Daylily pattern (http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/vv203/Elementoid3/Danmakufu%20Sprites/DaylilyInClosing.png) by flying straight into the bullets on the left. Maybe she's not good at dodging curving bullets?

Also a visual marker for when she's in autopilot would be helpful. Sometimes I forget and the AI and I end up fighting for control.  :V

Edit: Just tested it out and that Parsee is indeed very awesome, if a tad bit overpowered. The ability to make a clone was a nice touch.

Yeah the Parsee is cool mechanically but totally broken in terms of numbers. Am I right in noticing that her DPS gets stronger the further away she is? Bubble clones alone can do around 120 DPS; I was able to hit 500 DPS(!!) with the bubble clones and focus shot at max range. Also, getting on top of the Damage Tester with the focus bomb kills it, which is never a good sign. Both bombs seem to last too long, meaning that not only do they do huge damage, they also help run out the timer on survival spells, which is crazy.

I would reduce the rate at which you can use clones so you can't just spam them and have multiples onscreen at all times, and dramatically cut the damage of, uh, everything.

There's also some slowdown issues since Parsee spawns so many of those little blue shots, and I also get slowdown from having so many flowers onscreen during the focus bomb.

Anyway all this stuff is easily fixed, I like the core concept.

Okay, here's something I found on Nico Nico which I thought was pretty awesome. The player character Buront! I'm not exactly sure what game he's from, but I bet someone will recognize him!
Download (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4234581/Buront.rar)

I'm too lazy to take screenshots, but I'll explain the unique gameplay mechanics of this character. First off, he's slow and short ranged. Because of this you'll have a hard time trying to get in close enough to hit the enemy or boss. Never fear though, to counteract that shortcoming, he has a shield! While you hold shift, you'll become really really slow (around Aya camera rewind speed), but any bullet that doesn't have bomb resistance will be deleted when it hits the shield. Be warned though, it only blocks in front. Attacks from the side or behind will still kill you. Also if you block too many in a short period of time, your shield will break so be careful!

The second feature this character has is the TP and skill select system. Every time you land a hit or successfully guard, you'll fill your TP bar a little bit. When it becomes full, you'll gain a bomb counter. This isn't really a bomb, but rather a counter. Each skill that Buront has will cost a different amount of TP ranging from 1 to 3 and you can select one by pressing C, and use the selected one by pressing X. Some of these attacks count as normal shots, and some of them count as spell objects so how much damage a boss will take will differ for attacks. A level 1 attack may end up doing more than a level 2 or 3 because of the added bomb resistance most bosses have.

There's a good variety of skills and I'm not sure what one of them does so be sure to try them all out.

Buront is a meme of sorts, based on a fairly outrageous 2ch user and FFXI player (also has a thing for GGXX which is why he uses Grand Viper). He has been inserted into touhou fanworks on multiple occasions (search Danbooru for some examples). For some reason, every touhou is in love with him, which personally makes me :parsee: as fuck.

Player is pretty humorous but too unorthodox to be played seriously, probably.

Pretty interesting player to say the least.

>>> Click here to download (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4176466/Jin.zip) <<<
It's Playable character version of Jin takata, my own original character. This player has many notable differences with normal characters:
The player always points to the center of the screen and so do its shots.
There's a mirror image of the character at the other side of the screen. Double-tapping Z while the counter is full makes this mirror character deal big time damage to its area.
When pressing c, you switch locations with the mirror character. Useful for quickly gathering items, and survival spellcards.
The bomb iz lyk holy fuck o.o
Code: [Select]
unfocused DPS at bottom of screen: ~150
focused DPS at bottom of screen: ~165
unfocused DPS in center: ~300
focused DPS in center: ~320
Sword slash: ~800
Bomb: ~3000

Credits go to Solais who made the sprite, and Iryan, who tested it for me :D

Is it safe to pull this out of page two for another character to add to the pile?

I felt like trying my hand at making a player script, so after trying the tutorial and applying what I learned from it, I bring to the table...

Nue Houjuu
(BulletForge (http://bulletforge.org/u/kayorei/p/player-nue-houjuu/v/1)) (MediaFire (http://www.mediafire.com/?rkqzdmwiwkz))

Totally uncreative bomb, hah. The dark clouds around Nue in the second screenshot are from her "special mechanic", to put it nicely. If she stands still (firing, focused, or whatever, just as long as she's not moving), she produces those clouds which turn into bullets (homing or straight, depending on focus) when the shot button is tapped.

Without this mechanic, though, she's a little weaker than average according to my tests.

Those are some sexy sexy bombs, although they're a bit on the weak side considering the fact that you can't shoot while they're active.

I'd say the weakness of her bombs is a balancing point, since she has the same focus DPS as Marisa A, but she has 3 bombs and the lotus boost.

Pretty nice player, my only complaint is that the sprite is awfully big. (If I'm not mistaken, it's her UFO sprite with the cape and the hair colored in :V).

Hey, anyone liked how Alice played in IN? :V

Welp, hope you weren't expcecting that for Danmakufu, because's here's something different! (http://bulletforge.org/u/xutawoo/p/alice-set/v/01a)

Instead of having an annoyingly straight laser, she now has a simply annoyingly straight pair of shots, similar to what most Touhou games start you out with, just a bit stronger.

Here's where the difference comes in: instead of a standard bomb, you get dolls that you can place to increase your firepower. And their shots change depending on your focus, too!

Not happy where you placed them? Just press the bomb button when you lack a bomb to cause them to laser and destroy themselves. After a while, your bombs will be returned.

Also, since just setting a doll down to avoid bullet damage doesn't make much since. there's GraceArtful Sacrifice for a counterbomb, which is much more like a standard bomb. And more like Royal Flare than Artful Sacrifice, but eh. :V

seriously, the bombs, the special stuff, this is revolutionary. I especially loved the unfocused bomb... You could've made the sound effect louder.
some homing bullets remain onscreen and the character select image is too big, but besides that this is my new favourite danmakufu character. (besides jin :3)

flawed concept, but i've seen it used correctly for that nhimor player, so it's possible you could make something better out of this. havent managed to get a deathbomb yet but i'll try now.

Wow. It's a little complicated, but once you actually figure out how to use it, it's pretty cool :]. Though if you DID make an Alice based of IN, you could give her the laser (I think it's called Spectrum Illusion or something) from IN and use her Shanghai doll as a familiar and have it shoot bullets with a wide range. Just a suggestion ;)

The DPS seems very high if you just tap X for doll lasers. And if you just tap it and get hit, chances are you'll deathbomb.

And when your dolls refill, so does that deathbomb stock. :/

On the other hand, that's not gonna do you much good against something like "Border of Life and Death;" you can't counterbomb multiple times in a row.

Hm, the laser DPS is annoyingly high, though. Maybe to make up for their immobility? Still, if you use 'em properly, you can pretty much cover the screen, so that's gonna need to change. >.>

(Also, if the boss is standing still...)

woah woah what the hell (http://bulletforge.org/u/xutawoo/p/alice/v/1a)

Took me forever, but here's the second version of my Alice player! And boy, has it grown.

First off, the original Alice player is a much better balancedand coded; she's been heavily nerfed, but now she had six dolls to place (or blow up) for more stradegy. Yay, tacticoolness!

Also, there's now two more shot types.

Alice-B has a ring of circling dolls around her. These dolls -really- like to shoot. You don't have to really focus on aiming while unfocused. However, they start aiming to a spot infront of you if you focus. Useful for damage, unless you're on the other side of the screen and you're just trying to avoid stuff. Her bomb is "Grande Doll Performance"; several spiralling dolls that...are really hard to use. Still, it clears most of the screen.

Alice-C has only two dolls, but they're the decendents of the Shanghai she used in IN. In English, that means, yaaaay lasers! Trailing lasers, even; they're split when unfocused and fired normally while focused. Bomb is Color Sign "Rainbow Wave", which clears the whole screen with pretty colors.

I am proud to present: Reimu A from Undefined Fantastic Object

(http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/tt176/stickmanmugen/11.jpg?t=1288615172)(http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/tt176/stickmanmugen/33.jpg?t=1288615175)<-- I wish I could've gotten Wild Exorcism Dance to come out better. The problem is you can't shake the screen in Dmf...
Please forgive me for necrobumping :ohdear:
I tried to make it as close to full power Reimu in UFO as possible
You'll notice it even comes with a UFO style hitbox :o(pops up, one rotates, the other doesn't)
The Persuasion needles even fade away :]
Critique is welcome
Enjoy!

Wow that is awesome.  I like the small details you put into it like the orb familiars moving in and out with your focus along with the needle fading.  The bomb also looks more natural and not blocky like some character bombs do.  Although it is possible to shake the screen in Danmakufu, it messes up replays and other problems so that was for the best.  Great job.

Just finished a Battler character for use with the Beatrice set of scripts that's floating around. I was surprised nobody'd done this before me, as far as I could tell...

Shots:
Blue Truth Refusal - a more or less standard spread shot
Incontestible Red Truth - half straight shot and half Sakuya A-style homing shot

Spellcards:
Denial of Magic "Endless Nine" - More or less inspired by the shield in Samidare. It's not toggled like that one is, but a shield appears around you for a short time. After the shield breaks, it does damage proportional to the number of bullets you canceled, so when you use it be sure to run around with your increased speed and hit large amounts of bullets. Quite fun, I must say.

Game Master's Perogative "Golden Truth" - A sword. A very large sword.

It can be found here: http://www.mediafire.com/?7sbb3shet536hw7

(Sorry about the earlier size, I couldn't figure out how to thumbnail it. So here's this then.)

Let me know what you think!
(also am I supposed to be able to spell Yuyuko's last name correctly in the verification? I don't know that!)

edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention big thanks to Stuffman's player script tutorial, it was a huge help in making this. (The homing method for Battler's focused shot is still named JackTheRipper... heh.)

Ah, good eyes Mr. Blue. Next time, if you notice these things, please feel free to use the report button at the bottom of each post :)

Wanted to comment on your Reimu A script, the speed seems a little off. Reimu's speed in UFO is 4.5 unfocused, 2 focused. It's probably not worth updating, but it did bother me that her focused speed was so slow :V Otherwise, great script. Nice work.

Thanks, and I'll keep that in mind. Yeah, I kind of figured I was a little off when it came to the speed . I know that Reimu really is supposed to move a little faster, but I didn't like it because I prefer to move very slow when I focus :]. It's just that Some spells have bullets so close together (Golden Witch "Red Truth"), and when you have a really fast computer that processes Danmakufu with no lag, you need to lightly tap the button to avoid it. I think the speed better resembles PCB Reimu, oh, well. Thank you for your feedback  ;). Marisa A coming soon maybe...

Oh sigh, not three weeks after I make a Battler using nothing concrete to go off of, attacks-wise, they go ahead and make a Umineko fighting game with attacks aplenty.

I'll probably end up making a Battler B once I get my hands on that game and derive, ah, inspiration.

The flower youkai Yuuka is here! While slow, both of her shot types can hit the entire screen, though one focuses it and the other just scatters everywhere.

And I just typed up the Bulletforge page, so I don't feel like typing the stuff up here. Hey, I can be lazy. :P

Sometimes, when Shikieki's bullets come in contact with the enemy, they will block the view of bullets, thus dying easily in spells that requires you to stay near the boss , maybe you would like to fix that? ;)

@Mystia: Excellent! The bombs are useless w/o shooting, though. I always find it better to negate shooting during a bomb and let the bomb itself damage the enemy; that way SetDamageRate actually works, and bombs will still do damage even if some bad script has stopped you from hitting the enemy. But I digress.

@Bolorweh: Max focused DPS is 520.
From an ordinary firing position, focused DPS is 312, and unfocused DPS is 290. On a spread shot.
What.

Yeah, I know the bombs are kind of weak. (And yes, players usually are able to shoot while bombing in most Touhou games, except Marisa and Youmu in IN) But I did that to make it so the bombs are not overpowered and players can't use them to just chicken out of the spell card, kind of like in IN. Heh, maybe that wasn't the best idea, sorry ^^; I sort of used this character as an experiment with last spell cards...

Players can shoot, but it doesn't actually do anything (see: Fantasy Seal -Concentrate- and Duplex Barrier in PCB). But in all seriousness, it's a pretty good focused shot. I'll probably actually use it for something, which is saying something.

I would've posted this in the player script thread, but that thread has 0.12m players, and this is for ph3...

http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg13/MatthewPZC/screenshot0000.png (http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg13/MatthewPZC/screenshot0000.png) - unfocused shot
http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg13/MatthewPZC/screenshot0001.png (http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg13/MatthewPZC/screenshot0001.png) - focus shot
http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg13/MatthewPZC/screenshot0002.png (http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg13/MatthewPZC/screenshot0002.png) - bomb

This is my Marisa A player. Everything you see here relating to the player was drawn by hand (mostly... The bomb-related stuff wasn't.), and I'm quite proud of it, especially the Marisa sprite. :D So, Marisa A is a spread type. Unfocused, it can hit the top corners of the play area, but it's a bit weak. Best for clearing out large waves of enemies, basically.  They're also a bit slow, but they gradually speed up as they go along. Focused, though, there's more power. If you've used Naut's ph3 Marisa, it's weaker than that. However, not all the stars hit- if you get right up in the boss's face, it actually does a good amount of damage, more than the previously-mentioned Marisa! It does need to be awfully close, though... (Don't worry, this is intentional, since it's mostly a spread type.)

The bomb has 6...things (dunno what to call them) fly out in a bit of a spiral from the center of the screen. Every so often, they spawn stars of 8 different colors, which then explode after some time. They don't cause any damage or remove bullets until they explode, though! It's got good screen coverage, and you can fire while using it, but I think it might be too powerful... Oh well, it can be fixed if so.

So, I hope you enjoy! ^_^ I worked so hard on it...

Oh, and ignore all the other stuff in Marisa.png- it's stuff I drew while working on possible shot-types for Marisa. The icicle next to the main shot is for MarisaB, which I'll get to work on soon.

Hold on, now. I realized after I uploaded it that I forgot to set some item stuff, and forgot to make it actually use its power levels. I just finished fixing that, though, so the link has been updated. (Thank you, Dropbox!) If you want to use the power levels, you can set a "power" common data to 0. I make it wait 10 frames before checking the common data, so you should call it immediately! ...then again, maybe 10 isn't enough... I don't know... D: And therein lies a problem: the player is loaded before everything else...so what would be the best way to ensure that a player can be forced onto a certain power level at any time, but not let it get stuck there at all times...?

Eh. Also, I just realized I forgot to code in something to make the player lose power upon death. I'll code that in later, I suppose.

EDIT: Just finished, so the link's updated again.

Source script is Nimono's MarisaA, so once again thanks to him for providing this.

ph3 beta Kanako player script : video and download (http://bulletforge.org/u/ginko/p/kanako-ph3-player-script/v/101)

Kanako with boom sound effects (http://bulletforge.org/u/ginko/p/kanako-ph3-player-script/v/102)

Main Shots : ~60 dps

Unfocused options :  average 0-180 dps depending on relative height.

Focused 10D-Youmu-like release : average 0-220 dps depending on relative position.

Bomb : 5 seconds, total ~600 damage near Kanako, ~300 damage away from her, clear the entire screen of bullets.

Interesting. That's some pretty low dps though, standard dps for players is somewhere around:

Forward Focus: ~270
Penetration (lasers): ~260
Spread: ~250
Homing: ~230-240

EDIT: nevermind, you don't actually mention the total.

Oops, quick fix anyway, there was something I overlooked a bit : you could point blank 580 dps in focus (without releasing).

So now :

Normal shots : 120 dps

Unfocused options : max average 130 dps (total max 250 dps)

Focused options : max average 180 dps (total max 300 dps, high, but very dependent on the position and needs a perfect charge timing)

Point-blank focused : 330 dps.

Was gonna wait until I finished a project of mine before posting the Marisa player that I made a while back, but it seems everyone else is releasing their players for ph3, so I'll just put it here for now.

Far/Near damage per second while being directly under the boss:

Unshift (140, 240) (Far damage fluctuates between 136-144)
Shift (200, 200)
Bomb (3000, 3000) (Cannot shoot while bombing)

These standards seem...quite high. I base my standards on the default Reimu and Marisa shots from 0.12m, all of which had a DPS lower than what you list for spread... I'm pretty sure that my MarisaA has a lower DPS from afar than you list for homing, too. (Might be in that range in this version, though. Need to maybe port that DPS script from 0.12m to ph3.)

And in complement, a simple player script of Suwako (http://bulletforge.org/u/ginko/p/suwako-ph3-player-script/v/100)

Options : Long-Arm and Long-Leg Sama. The non-focused is similar to the spellcard while the focused one goes forward.

The transition between focused and non-focused shots is slow. Max dps : 278

Bomb : Frog Is Eaten by Snake due to the Croak

Little damage and corny bullet cancelling, but long safety time due to bullet cancelling delay.

Okay, I'm highly confused about what the ph3 DPS standards should be. Going by Naut's list and a port of the DPS tester made for 0.12m, his Marisa is far too weak- it doesn't even do 200 DPS according to it. So what should really be the standard, and how should we find the DPS of our players?

My Marisa hasnt been released in this thread... And yeah, it does too little DPS. What's there to be confused about though?
I'm confused because of what you say "THE" standard is, yet your Marisa is weaker than that. :/ I think we need something official already...

I screwed up my math for that player and haven't updated it, and it's not even released to the public anyway.

Why would we change the arbitrary average dps from what it was for 0.12m? There is absolutely no reason. That's the standard.

Alright, I give. We do still need to come up with a bit of a standard for DPS of power levels lower than max, though, since we can now easily do that in ph3.

Argh, figures that when I start on another player character, Danmakufu goes and updates on me. Oh well.

Anyways, due to the noticeable lack of... What? Gilgamesh? Not Gilgamesh. That blue somewhat ghost-like Touhou. You know the one.
Disregarding word filters, since Mima's not in Touhou 13, I decided to try to make up for that and foresaw her appearance in Touhou 78: Something of Lasers.
Code: [Select]
Speed: 3.5/1.9

Unfocused DPS: ~211 (145 homing, 66 piercing)
Focused DPS: 271 (66 piercing)

Unfocused bomb: 270/1297/2437 (far and to the side/far/max)
Focused bomb: 3536
Number of bombs: 2

I suppose I should work on converting her and Battler to the new version...

Err...... is that Gilgamesh throwing dog bones?
Yeah. It's a, er, reference I guess to how everyone predicts the return of Mima. "I can feel it in my bones" and whatnot.
It makes... well, it doesn't really make any more sense when you see it in action, probably even less sense. But it's certainly amusing.

Well, as a consequence of a IRC discussion yesterday, I made a player script whose goal is to ram into the walls.

I present yet another ph3 player script : Kisume (http://bulletforge.org/u/ginko/p/kisume-player-script/v/100/archive)

Main shot, 120 dps
(http://i.imgur.com/LPiHt.jpg)(http://i.imgur.com/7H7yK.jpg)
Option shot : when you ram into a wall at sufficient speed, shoots during two seconds in the opposite direction; bounces against side walls. Damage increases with shock speed. Max dps alone : 480 (!). Max dps with main shot : 480 (!)
Bomb : clears the screen, around 1000 damage, prevents option trigger. 5 seconds.

MOVEMENT : : pushing the directional keys make you accelerate. Focusing basically brakes, so moving focused will be almost constant speed, except when making an important turn.

I believe this justifies the dps. It's really hard to play with this. Enjoy !

Random Player Generator (http://bulletforge.org/u/naut/p/random-player-generator/v/1) for Danmakufu ph3 Beta1.

Every 12 or so seconds, the script generates a new random player. Not shooting will speed up the generation process (in case you get a shot type you don't like). It randomly chooses between Forward Focused, Penetration, Spread, Homing and Special shot types, and won't choose the same type twice in a row. The first four are pretty self explanitory, but the Special shot type depends on what color you are. You may freely change your color between Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, Purple and Pink using the C or V keys. Dying or Bombing will re-randomize your color and shot type.

The special shot types are:

Red - Reimu
Forward Focused and homing.

Orange - Suika
Slightly homing and penetration.

Yellow - Yuuka
Penetration and spread.

Green - Sanae
Slightly homing and spread.

Cyan - Cirno
Forward focus and huge spread.

Blue - Nitori
Homing and spread.

Purple - Yukari
Homing.

Pink - Yuyuko

Someone please lock this thread. It's not going to be maintained, and now it's just rotting away with a post every two years.
