I can see that you need to apply the advice for all beginners: Thin your paints, sharpen your camera.
It takes some experience, but you will want to apply just as much color as you need in a given moment. The basics to this is to thin your paints with water to achieve the right viscosity. First dip your brush quickly in water and tap it so you don't have a big blob of water on. Then mix up your color with water on a palette until it's smooth. Don't use color directly from the can. It's better to use several thin layers to cover than one thick. Experiment until you find a good mix.
