Title: [Art] Touhou Heroines and Villains project
Post by: Hiroan Dokiri on November 27, 2009, 07:35:22 PM: Been working on a drawing project involving Touhous drawn as superheroes. That's what happens when you play too much Touhou and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, folks. Stuff like this. ^^;

I wanted to ask around to see if these alternate superhero names I thought of are to your liking, let you folks suggest better alternate names, as well as add any other Touhous I missed that you think need to make the cut. ~~The PC-98 Touhous are really hard to add because they aren't themed or don't have spellcards like the Windows Touhous do.~~ The list has been extended to include an Extra Series, depicting the Touhous I previously had trouble adding. If I'm not feeling lazy, I'll integrate them into the main list. Again, feel free to suggest REASONABLE name changes.

I'm afraid this is as big as the list is going to be until further official Touhous are introduced, so no more requests, 'kay?

Aw, it's not so bad. She's a beautiful blue-and-white-dressed skater with a red 9 on her chest. She's better as a skater, while Letty will be more like a mountain climber.

I'm planning for seven glowing alchemy symbols surrounding her, according to her whole 'One Week Wizard' theme. Plus plenty of large pink and purple cloaks, and little charms.

Hmm, I don't know about 'Mirage' for Reisen. That sounds more like a desert-based name, but I do agree that 'Hallucinator' is fairly long. Maybe 'Lunatic Eyes' would be more suitable?

As for Mokou, I was trying to go for the sun and moon comparisons between Mokou and Kaguya. If I renamed Mokou to 'Firewing', I'd need something to oppose it with the moon for Kaguya.

Also, I'd suggest "Lunablade" for Yorihime if you ever did her, but then again that's an idea I've been using, so... Yeah. Ignore that one if you want~

And, since this is me speaking, I'm kind of obligated to suggest either "Void" or "Lost Soul" for Rin Satsuki if you ever do her~

Ah...

Don't really know my superheroes well, though I think the new names are pretty good.

Both, actually. Colored pencils for lighter areas, markers for shaded parts.

I've considered Gengetu and Mugetu, but they're tricky to theme with the moon since we already have the Lunarians. I'll have to watch a run of their extra stage for some ideas, but from the wiki, it's said that their battle was ultimately pointless, and that they may hail from a different world. Maybe 'Parallell Moon' for their combined title? Let me get back to you on all of that later. :)

Since she's often associated with shadows, call her the "Shadow of the True Kirin" or something.

For quite a few reasons I dislike Miss Sashiromiya, but I promised someone that I'd not go on about it on MotK, so... Yeah. What I DO know about her, though, is that she can apparently manipulate shadows. Sounds far too similar to Rumia's manipulation of darkness for my liking, but whatever. I've also seen her be referred to as a dragon quite a few times, which would make sense, as her hair somewhat resembles the horns that are quite often seen on Eastern style dragons. My suggestion for a name given these two bits of info would be "Ankoku Dairyu" (Great Dragon of Darkness... I think).

Um... Yeah. But you'd probably be better asking someone else about her~

To invoke a commonly held opinion: Most battles in Touhou are pointless. And who's to say they can't share themes? They did it first after all.
