Seriously though, after 30 attempts I can't even get 3 shots. I mean 30 isn't much normally but even the hardest cards for me I can get more than 3 for! gah...

There's great wisdom in this. If you've plateaued, you can study your replays. You can watch videos on YouTube. Or you can turn off your machine and go outside for a few hours, and come back later refreshed and in better spirits,

Yes well, the problem with DS is it's addicting. I think it's because you think "it's just 1 spellcard, I can beat ONE SPELLCARD"... And then when you finally do you're like "FINALLY! woot, I can't wait to see the next one!"

Anyway now I'm stuck at 11-2.. I mean it's super easy seeming one second, then when she is on the left side and bounces to the right it becomes OMGWTF for about 5-6 seconds, even if you time your picture then. By the last 2 shots or so the bullets go so fast I just kinda fly around randomly like a chicken with its head cut off at that part. I think it's going to be another 100+ card. Sucks how I actually got to "last" at one point, reached 100% camera charge, charged up, started taking a picture..*dies*.. boss was inside the frame too.. ARRRGHAGHAHG!

Very much this. That's the effect it seems to have on me anyway. I mean, if you die once you can immediately restart the stage. Plus the pivoting camera and switching between vertical and horizontal view compel me to try ridiculous zooms.

I never really went near the bottom of the screen, moving in between wasn't an option. I just kinda stayed just below the boss the whole time pretty much.  sometimes a quick backstep until a laser passes by so I could wrap around a spread, but never for long.

It's even easier than that. I got the idea when I noticed that the spell circle only appeared when you stand very close to Kanako.
The trick is to simply circle around her sprite. The bullets she shoots never get in your way and the lasers seem to ignore you most of the time as well.

Finally went through again with Hatate a few days ago.  Barring 10-4 and 9-1 everything was basically a huge breeze with her.  I did it all in reverse for some reason though, so I finished with 1-1  :V
