>You (yes,
YOU) are (the somewhat unfortunately named) Mary Sue, just your regular 15 year old high school girl! Your parents have recently divorced, and as such you've moved with your mother to the vaguely-American city of Sanctuary. You've only been going to the local high school for about a week now, so you're still new and don't really know any of your classmates yet.
>Your father gave you an old family heirloom as a memento before you moved away, a broach shaped like a black scarab beetle. It didn't seem like anything that special at the time, but soon after your move to Sanctuary you accidently wandered into a rather shady alley and were accosted by muggers. Imagine your surprise when the scarab seemingly exploded in a flash of light, and the next thing you knew you were a magical girl, just like from one of your Japanese animes! And then you beat the crap out of them. Huzzah!
>There are many kinds of magical girl out there! I wonder what kind you are? Please select an archetype:
Combat Type Magical GirlYou're as subtle as a sledgehammer and hit twice as hard! On the downside, you're not exactly the nimblest girl out there, and can be easily outran. Your defensive capabilities are about average.
Power: Super Strength
Weapon: Fists. Who needs a weapon when you can demolish a house with your bare hands?
Finishing Move: You punch your enemy so hard they explode!
Defender Type Magical GirlYou've got staying power! All of your magical energy goes into making sure you don't get hurt. Unfortunately, this leads to your offensive capabilities taking a massive hit. You move much faster than the Combat Type, however, and have an above average top speed.
Power: Force Field. Unfortunately, it's only big enough to surround you alone, but it's pretty tough to crack.
Weapon: Bow and arrow. You're not really the up close and personal type.
Finishing Move: An arrow sheathed in a portion of your force field, creating some disruption... Thingy. Insert some Star Trek technobabble here. Suffice to say, it makes your enemies explode.
Speedster Type Magical GirlFaster than a speeding bullet, and with the reflexes to match! You can easily outrace the many cars in the city on foot. However, the old addage of "fast but fragile" is in full force here. But hey, you're fast enough to dodge anything, right?
Power: Super Speed and Reflexes. You're not sure what your top speed is, but you're still pretty much the fastest thing on two legs.
Weapon: Sword. More specifically, a
khopesh.Finishing Move: Y'know that cool thing in anime where the hero speeds past his enemy with his sword, and then the enemy splits in half and then, yes,
explodes? It's basically that.
Healing Type Magical GirlYou're not especially powerful, or tough, or fast. But you have one thing that sets you apart. You have
heart....Hey, come back! Heart is an awesome power, really!
Power: You regenerate wounds at an astonishing rate. Physical contact with another living being will allow them to take advantage of this ability themselves if you will it so. You also happen to have a small degree of telepathy, a power you may use even when untransformed unlike any of the other powers mentioned.
Weapon: Heart-topped magician's staff. You're a lover, not a fighter.
Finishing Move: A purifying blast of energy that wipes the evil from the hearts of those it touches!
In other words, a Care Bear Stare.>In addition, your magical girl form and finishing move need names! And whilst transforming is more of an act of will than anything else for you, you are free to come up with a transformation phrase if you so wish.
>Once that's all sorted out...
>You are currently untransformed and rushing to get to school. Seems you slept in or something. You know there's a shortcut nearby, but it's down a somewhat shady alleyway (Sanctuary seems to have an awful lot of these for some reason).
>If you really rushed, you could probably get there just on time by going the long way, but...
>_
(Yeah, this is kinda an experimental thing I decided to run. It's an original (kind-of) setting, so hopefully that won't put too many people off, ahah. Oh well, fingers crossed that this goes better than Satsuki Quest did!)
