Rough design your own simple game

I wanna hear everyone's idea for their own game. It doesn't have to be the best possible perfect game in your opinion, just something that you think would be cool and fun, and relatively easy to make, simple is keyword. Or if you don't want simple, at least make describing it relatively simple... TRY to make it more in-depth than "DOOM...WITH BIGGER GUNZ!!!1one" though.

I've always fancied a game similar to scorched earth/worms/those game where you're a tank (or tanks), choose an angle, power, select a weapon, and attempt to wipe out your enemies for cash.

However, most of them give you nothing but new weapons, shields, digging tools, etc.

I think having one with more stuff, similar to armored core would be cool. Where you build your tank, engine, tracks(or wheels,  hoverboard,legs,whatever..your choice in game), armor, shields, power generator, cooling system, targeting computer, chassis, turrets and cannons as well as ammo for them, possibly even crew, etc. That's pretty much it. Just one of those tank games, only where your customization options are huge due to the various parts required for a complete tank. I'm not sure if you should get just 1, or  more than one, probably unimportant to the appeal of the game.

Or am I the only person who thinks that would be cool.

Well, I had this idea for a long time...

A RPG-Shooter similar to Diadra Empty, BUT you can shoot in every direction and you have several slots, where you can put your weapons in. Your weapons become stronger and have a wider range when you use them longer. Depending on which weapon combination you choose, your bombs changes, too.

I've always dreamed of a game that was pretty much like the 3D stages on Star Fox 64, but you get to upgrade your ship. With what? With more Dakka, of course.

I want a game where you dodge beautiful patterns of tons of bullets...

I would love a game with a weapon system like Dark Cloud. You start with crap (usually, unless you're hella lucky and find something nice) and build it up to something great. A game with this system, but without the limits on what weapons you use like the Dark Cloud series has (Toan uses swords/daggers and that's it).

There could be many different weapon trees and they would all have distinctly different fighting styles. It would be awesome to see what kind of things you could build.

I want to make a tactics RPG, similar to FFT or Fire Emblem, where you can chain and combine attacks ala Covenant of the Plume. While you can grind, there is a level cap, and you have to increase it by completing quests. There is a quest "web" where you can follow many standalone quest lines, until you unlock the quest to complete that chapter and move on.

I'd also like to do a remake of the older Jazz Jackrabbit games with new episodes. ;P

You know what'd be awesome? A game where you pursue a career as a quick-draw gunner. No real shoot-outs, just travelling around and challenging people to pistols at dawn. Walking around taverns, earning a name for yourself, talking with the guy before the duel, and eventually a reflex test to see who can hit first. There's something strangely attractive about all that buildup for an event that takes roughly 5 seconds.
In terms of plot it turns out that your prowess attracts the interest of a less than amiable gang, and the plot splits:
- Work with them, and you get the ability to cheat and turn early during duels. You help the gang overthrow the local government and control the state.
- Work against them, and you get given a handheld Bible from a passing minister that protects you from one shot. You help the sheriff take down the gang and bring around peace and prosperity.

Not the most original game, but it'd be pretty damn cool to play.

I'd like to see a fighting game designed to make execution of moves as easy as possible, like Smash, but with more traditional gameplay mechanics. So it'd be about reacting to your opponent and knowing the right moves to use, without worrying about trying to bust out a double half circle to do a super in a split-second of opportunity or trying to pull off one-frame cancels to do combos.

Normals would be simplified to light/medium/hard like most doujin fighters, special moves would be done with a button+direction, supers would be just two buttons together, etc. It would be light on combos.

So basically a more casual-accessible fighter that isn't demanding execution-wise.

As much as I hate Naruto, I'll agree with this.

I posted a game idea in a thread a while ago and started (over) on it a couple weeks ago.

I also had an idea for a game similar to Star Fox 2, but with a few more RPG aspects.

A game that is a fast paced, real time, but light medieval game that goes back to the roots of a shining knight in armor on a quest to save the world (or just a rugged hero, that works too).  Every time you start a new game, the world should be randomly generated, vast, wide, beautiful and have a lot of exploration factored in with anything ranging from plains to forests to large abandoned structures.  Every town, forest, and places in general should have things to find and do.  Most importantly, it should still work together in a cohesive plot (bonus points if this too is randomly generated) and that the other people seem human and intelligent while being randomly generated.

I need a big world of adventure that doesn't get old one time through.

You play as a shota boy, able to convert into a loli.

The adventure part is to collect special items throughout each stage by defeating unique enemies (namely muscle men who guard sacred treasures to becoming the ultimate trap)

You have 5 different boys and a girl to choose from, they are your avatars and each share a different UNIQUE SKILL matched with other attributes.
YOU have Speed, Strength, Defense, Attack, Weapon Knowledge, Assembled Knowledge, Artifact Coding, Common Sense, Seductiveness, Trap-Skills, Sexualization Level, Exposure Level, Muscle Level.

The idea is that you have to keep Muscle Level to absolute minimal, the more enemies you kill instead of seduce, the more muscles you grow, making you into the enemy, a MAN FAYE type trap (if you Trap Skill is as high and your Sexualization Level is higher than your Common Sense.

A list of things:
Common Sense: When stumped, Common Sense provides hints, and basically keeps you on your objective to become a trap. Low Common Sense means rising of Muscle Level, causing mass outbreak of brawn and occasional outburst which will attract enemies near you.

Sexualization: How sexualized you are will market your image, more enemies may be aware of you (indicated by pink heart floating on head) which you can Seduce with your seduction level (even bosses)

Trap-Skills: Your makeup, your hair, your dress will defind how well you can raise your trap stats, the higher you are, the more attractive you can make yourself to be, even access to sluttier costumes, or cuter costumes (Common Sense ranking). [This is also a hidden value for 'Moe route']

Assembled Knowledge: is what gives you the brains for brawn value, you can make weapons out of even frilly clothing, or a set of Nekomimi, (examples which is Frilly Skirt Flying Guillotine - strip and shear! / Nekomimi Moe Blast! - The Nekomimi of death, blasting supersonic soundwaves that quickly cut down massive HP.) Both assemblies require higher class Weapon Knowledge (which you must learn from each stage a Weaponsmith)


Exposure Level: How you dare to show some skin, ultimate skill, instantly seduce anyone, but risks attracting too big a crowd and unwanted attention (you may get Trap-Hunters, which follow you around and snap pictures {which raises your Sexualization Level}, raising enemy alert levels on Covert Ops. Missions)

Artifact Coding: Each stage you have an artifact that gradually turns you into a "moe moe Kyun!" trap loli or trap girl (depending on the character you choose, which also can make you into a reverse-trap if you choose the girl character) Artifact Coding gives you the knowledge necessary for using the trap Artifacts. When accessed, your Muscle Level goes down dramatically, and raises your common sense.

The whole point of the game is to massively seduce your enemies to work for you.
Use your money, your trapness, anything but having to resolve to your ultra Nekomimi or your cute BunnyTail Bomb, or your Chainsaw Highheels or... Mikuru Beam (which is your default weapon)

Who would you be? A powerful Strength based Man Faye? (you can only have Man Faye, which you gain an extra attribute but lose Trap Skills and Seductiveness / The skill you acquire is Body Hair - which like name, dictates the amount of hair you have on your body, it creates scarring experiences for your enemies [Stun] )

Man Faye is also capable of Wrestlemania skills, attack from behind, take your enemies out of the bar and beat them up, stomp their ballsacks, put your crotch to their faces and rub against them! (insta-kill)

Trap can manipulate enemies, and well... the point of the game

At some point, you can unlock happy end, which is you getting married to a perfect wonderful trap man as well (yeah, it is a gay game), and live happily ever after.

There are probably at most 3 people who would want to play this but...

I've always wanted to see a game set in Neo Venezia where ARIA takes place. You'd be able to live your life out and go row gondolas like in Aria. You would start as a Pair-rank undine who arrives in Neo Venezia, choose one of the three companies to work under, and work your way up to Prima. All the while, you'd be able to interact with the characters like Akari, Aika, and Alice as well as all the townsfolk. The whole game would be really laid back and relaxing.

Already done, called Audiosurf, even if it doesn't have a single dangblamed kart in it.

Multivehicular racing with a side of customizable powerup spread?

Might be getting somewhere.

As you race, you unlock Chassis, Engine, Tire, Gearshift, Turbo, Custom, and Inventory parts*, as well as pieces of Junk that can be used to make new parts or upgrades for old ones. Compete in special challenges to either gain special items or new vehicles. Also unlockable are Items that your vehicle can use in the races -- by hitting certain-colored icons on the track, your vehicle gains the capacity to let loose one of the weapons. Standard 'red = weapon, blue = defense, green = nitro/turbo/boost, yellow = trap, purple = OH SH*T RUN item' icon coloring applies, throw in wacky tracks a la CTR or Mario Kart and you're game.

Damn, this could actually even qualify as a Racing RPG.

*Chassis would give HP, Engine would give Top Speed, Tire would give Handling, Gearshift would give Acceleration, Turbo would influence how well boost items [or pads, or sections, etc. on the tracks] would up the speed, Custom would just be random goof-off bits OR functional items that upped the power of certain things (e.g., a 'Flamethrower Tailpipe' Custom item would not only look cool, but it'd allow you to send the obligatory Fireball item behind you as well as or instead of ahead of you), and Inventory would let you carry different sorts of items on you as you rush about the track, or let you stock more than one item at once, etc. . . . YES, I PUT SOME THOUGHT INTO THIS, BUT NO IT DID NOT TAKE ME MORE THAN FIVE GODBLAMED MINUTES.

i actually have two ideas...



Touhou 15th Aniversiary...
Got this idea when i played PuyoPuyo 15th Animersiary and more or less is an rip-off...  :V

There is a Danmaku Tournament going on, the Winner of the tournament can wish for whatever she wants.
Each stage you fight an Boss of one of the touhou games... (mostly Windows ones, but i might think about allowing PC-98 Reimu and Marisa to join the Fun, as well as Mima)
before the Battle starts you will get a Cut-sceene after that you have to spin a wheel.
The wheel has multiple modes on it, depending on what you land on, you have a diffent battle.
紅魔郷 - Will force you to fight the boss like in the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. (Without Hitbox)
妖々夢 - Will force you to fight like in Perfect Cherry Blossom. (With Hitbox)
永夜抄 - ... like in Imperishable Night. (Death-bombing Rule)
花映塚 - ... like in Phantasmagoria of Flower View. (Both Player On Screen)
風神録 - ... like in Mountain of Faith. (Power = Bombs)

Difficulty is like the following:
Eh? EASY MODO? - Only 3 Stages with less Bullets and no unlocked Characters can be used.
Normal - 8 Stages, just like normal.
Hard - 8 Stages, With more bullets.
Lunatic - 8 Stages, With much more bullets and Final Marathon.

Final Marathon is a stage that you will be sent to after you beat the boss of the 8th Stage, if you beat the game without continueing. It uses the Last Spell rule (One hit = Spell disolves) and throws random pattern at you, when you survive the pattern you can continue, when 3 Spells are disoved (Getting hit 3 Times) the Marathon ends...

Stage 1-3 will give the Bosses only 2 Lifebars,
Stage 4&5 will give Bosses 3 Lifebars,
Stage 6&7 with 4 Lifebars,
and Stage 8 with 5 Lifebars.

Playable Characters and the ones you might Fight:

Reimu, Youmu, (Alice), (Reisen), Sakuya, Marisa,
Cirno, (Yuyuko), (Sanae), (Suika), (Remilia), Yuka
[Yukari], [PC-98 Reimu], [Shinki], [Mima], [PC-98 Marisa], [Flandre]

Characters with () can be unlocked for play when beaten
Characters with [] can only be unlocked for play if you beat cerian circumstances.

How to unlock the [] Characters:
PC-98 Reimu/Marisa: beat Game without continueing and with Reimu/Marisa on Hard or Lunatic.
Flandre: Beat the game without continueing on Hard or Lunatic with no Lives left.
Yukari: Beat the game with all starter Characters and all () Characters.
Shinki: Survive at least 15 Spells on Final Marathon with Alice.
Mima: Survive at least 10 Spells with every starter and () Characters Reimu, Marisa and Yuka on Final Marathon.



Wow that was waaaaaay to much for a "rough" desing... but oh well

Touhou - The Gensokyo Chronicles

A bit differen Touhou Game.
With Two Players simultaniosly.
Choose one of the four/five Main character (Main Shot type)
and one of the 15/20 helpers (Sub Shot type)
Game will have up to 7 Stages with the 6th being Final, and 7th being Real Final.

And that?s about it...  :V

i'd like to make a game that is 2d when running around doing stuff when is 3d when fighting in battles,

Sumthin like Final Fantasy (or Spectrobes but with one teammate)
