All that happens in the first chapter, apparently, is Marisa and Reimu talk about her, something else happens, and then she shows up and a little bit of dialogue.  (And Reimu has the best evil expression at some point.)  Based on that, 2ch already has her pegged as Suika's ex-girlfriend - the comic has been out for not even a day and the great yuri machine has already started turning its wheels ...

Also, Febri only comes out every other month, so no more Kasen until the end of September :<

Well this is interesting.

Early speculation in the Three Fairies spoiler topic on the Livedoor Touhou board revolved on the possibility that Kasen is based on Ibaraki Douji, the only one of Shuten Douji's group to survive. He later sought revenge on one of the group who vanquished the Ooeyama oni, Watanabe no Tsuna, by posing as a young girl in distress, then turning into a demon and attacking him. Tsuna cut off his arm and escaped, but Ibaraki Douji later retrieved it from Watanabe no Tsuna's mansion and fled again. (When Kasen first appears, she's looking for the "arm of the kappa" that's recently appeared at the shrine, but seems disappointed when she sees what it actually is. Further, her title is "the one-armed, horned hermit".) According to Japanese Wikipedia, Ibaraki Douji is said to have various relationships with Shuten Douji, and is alternately his son, or actually a woman and his lover.

She's described as having ribbons wrapped around her right arm. Could it be she's using some magical prosthetic arm, with the ribbons hiding the separation between her stump and the magical prosthesis, and is seeking the "arm of the kappa" as a replacement?

I think this looks awesome, even though I sort of expected a return to Touhou 1 in terms of gameplay (since the decimal numbers tend to have gameplay not directly related to normal danmaku). The other bit of good news is that this probably means that next year a new, "real" Touhou game will be released.

Well this got my attention. I didn't really care for this new Touhou at first, but now  .

Looks pretty interesting. It should be at least competent if i don't have to memorize and manipulate a dreadful gimmick to master it. Can't say anything about it for now though as i haven't seen anything about the gameplay outside of these screenshots.

Overall i'm positive about it. I hope it'll be something new to renew my interest in the Touhou series. And i'll even be going to Comiket myself this time so i might just pick it up. Nice of ZUN to inform me of where the heck i need to go.
