Wow, Evil Eye is a lot more manageable if you can reach him with full power. The difference between full power and yellow power is ridiculous, especially since bosses don't drop power items in this game (other than those set moments).

See, I have a problem spot in the stage: The part after the star section. I don't know why, but I have an inability to survive this part without bombing.

I use the left corner. You only need to move out of the corner when a "tumbleweed" comes down from the middle and shoots a ring; which only happens twice  :V

Argh, I keep doing 1DNB runs of UFO stage 3 hard with Sanae B. I want to make a video to see if I can finally steer people on how to beat this stage (since convincing the lot of you to switch to Reimu simply does not work), but I keep screwing up in one spot or another.

EDIT: Screw it. How the hell do you people not realize how much of a handicap Sanae's hitbox is? The only reason you don't think it is is because you've never given Reimu an extended play.

I'd rather play PoFV. At least I can dodge crap on that. Lack of Focus + almost nonexistant bullet clearing + BS attacks are just no fun. I have no idea how I 1cc'd PoDD on Normal and got close on Hard.

Edit: Tool Assisted Slowdown? I'm sure it'd be very possible for even me to unlock the stages like that.

PoDD is fun stuff (though I had to 1cc it on lunatic before I truly saw that), much more than PoFV. It relies much more on your dodging skills rather than praying that you'll get off a level 2 spell before the game shits you out, not to mention the AI doesn't have that cheapass "lol I'll dodge everything you have until you lose once" mechanic. It requires you to develop a different strategy for winning than PoFV does, and for you to learn the boss attacks.

I don't understand the appeal in PoD.D either, to be honest. No focus is just nerve-wracking, and I've never actually beaten the AI, I think. Apparently it's much more "fair" than PoFV (as if PoFV even pretends to be fair :V), but PoFV is just fun. It's endless dodging combined with knowing when to bomb. PoD.D is just...ugh D:

I can see why you'd like it, but I'll take my Yukas and Sakuyas over your Ellens and Rikakos any day.

(PoD.D's soundtrack is awesome though)

Once you play it for a while you don't even notice the lack of focus. There are a lot fewer bullets in PoDD anyway. FYI, I 1cc'd with Yumemi, who is one of the fastest characters, and I HATE fast characters usually.

Anyway, AAAGGHGHGAGHAGGHHHH. I hate Baity and Jaimers for making me try and get serious about SoEW extra no deaths (though at least it won't detract from the enjoyment; there never was any in the first place :V). My success is dicated by whether or not I mashed hard enough on the wall section, Reimu C (the only one who can possibly do this no deaths) runs into bullets that anyone else would have outran, and now I've suddenly forgotten where to position myself to dodge the final section before the stage goes red. Baity, help? :< Screenshot preferred.

And I haven't even REACHED Evil Eye Sigma without dying with Reimu C.

If that doesn't describe PoDD I don't know what does. The thing is that in PoFV it's much, much easier to know when to bomb; you should bomb *always*. In PoDD you must know when to eat a bullet - not when to risk eating a bullet, but when to choose to get hit with 100% certainty instead of bombing.

edit: another thing is that the fact that only 6 people in the west are know to have 1cc'ed PoDD lunatic should tell you something, three of these being Donut, Baity and Jaimers, and a fourth being a certain someone who's known for being very good at these games nobody cares about.

Lunatic Hourai Elixir 4 seconds left on the timer 5 times in a row. And before that I got it down to 3 seconds left on the timer which is very rare for me. I'm nearly up to 270 attempts on this damn spell right now.

Red cross is the recommended spot as it allows you to collect Power. Blue cross is the pacifist safespot. Ignore the fact that I wasn't standing on it, because it was a rushed job.

Good news though, I finally captured Evil Eye's last phase. The hitbox bullets have thwarted every attempt before now.

EDIT: PBBBBBBT. Another perfect Aya fight thwarted solely by Peerless Wind God. Well, at least I've mostly mastered Aya. It's funny to think there was a time when she was considered the hardest stage 4 boss.

I still don't see the appeal in PoD.D; maybe I never will. I just don't think it's fun. Maybe I should give it a serious run and see what happens then...


EDIT: k, tried PoD.D seriously.
-First try, 1cc'd with Kana and felt pretty good about myself, then saw that the game had been set to Easy Mode and cried.
-Second try, played on Normal (again with Kana) and game over'd on Yumemi. Those crosses are deadly when they start stacking up D:
-Marisa's diagonal star attacks are just as terrifying as they are in PoFV and her boss attack is even worse. ;_;

Heavily opinion based. The masses seem to say UFO is harder, but personally I'd say SA is harder.

As for stage 4, just wait until you play it on hard and lunatic.

I heard that UFO has harder stages and SA has harder bosses.

That and the UFO objects in UFO are flying deathtraps...Found that out myself.

Almost got to Ichirin/Yuugi

Actually I got past midboss ichirin, and in SA I got to Yuugi's second spellcard.

Both games annoy me with lasers. Parsee is easier than Kogasa in my opinion.

Then again the only two games I've beaten are PoFV and MoF

MoF with 10 continues

and PoFV with more continues than I can remember.

It doesn't matter how many continues I need, I will eventually beat these games.

Strange thing...ever since i cut down on bomb use. (just after my first few times playing touhou)

I start dying with many bombs in stock...

Gotta fix that somehow...

I also tend to die on a bosses second or third spellcard.

Gotta practice more.

Recently died on SA stage 2 easy while testing out applications of teleporting on Parsee with amusing results.

Her midboss non-spell can be made easier by teleport streaming. this tactic also forces me to time-out the midboss fight allowing me to avoid green eyed monster.

I haven't tested all applications yet.

Now I just lost a total of 12 bombs, 7 of them being on stage 3 and game overed on Stage 6 Sakuya's nonspell. Then after continuing, I beat Remilia with only one death which is usual for me, 2 at the most.

Try IN Lunatic. I can't even get close on most of the Hard modes and I've almost managed to 1cc this Lunatic. I actually can if I don't keep messing up.


As for Satori's nonspells on Hard. I did mess up once, but the replay will still give you an idea. Everything else was bad.
