This is a 1cc of MoF Normal with ReimuA. Not only do I not capture ANYTHING, but I bomb EVERY SINGLE BOSS ATTACK PATTERN IN THE GAME, PLUS EXTRAS, AT LEAST ONCE. I even died by accident once, leaving two, possibly three bombs unused. Even the most trivial boss patterns are bombed. If you find a spot in the replay where it's like "lol why did you bomb", it's to prove the point. If you ever find a spot where I actually dodge things with even a small amount of skill, it's because I hadn't thought I would be out of power at the time, and you should have enough bombs to get through it regardless. In addition to bombing everything, I suicide almost immediately after I run out of power to get more bombs, and continue to bomb a card again even after I die.

If you cannot do any better than this replay during a serious run, I feel sorry for you.

But, it's about the mindset too! Since most people can't bomb reactively and stuff, or know when to bomb with good power gain, or to decide whether '1cc' or 'attempt good show' comes first. After spending time to make this run and post you may as well submit the score. I'll challenge you for last place.

Stage 3 is hell (should probably make a separate thread).

EDIT: End of Stage 3. 46530 score, 1 death, 2 bombs total. This is quite nasty.

Stage 4 is fun.

I'm stuck. 0 Power, 0 lives and Aya's survival is next. There's also no way that I can timeout the last SC, so I might have to ditch no-shooting.

Might have to consider shooting enemies for extra Power. And maybe Nitori Midboss / Sanae Midboss for the Extra lives to make things easier. Too bad I started to lose focus as soon as Aya's first Spell Card was timed out (you can tell by my performance).

I should be able to keep the score pretty low if I do it right.

Game over on ~~Saruta Cross~~ Crossroads of Heaven, S4 SC1 (damnit Baity, making me do this notation stuff). No miss through Stages 1-3, then Stage 4 took me by surprise as I was promptly stomped by the first set of waterfall fairies (which, combined with residual bullets from prior unkilled fairies, is lulz), then I screwed up the misdirecting before Momizi. Got by for a while longer, but Saruta Cross/roads of Heaven feels just as bad on Normal as it is on Lunatic, due to its slow speed clumping up the bullets into walls that I don't feel like reading at 3 am.

Inspired by drake's run, I went ahead and tried to do an EoSD version.

3 Spell card captured (2 of them rumias)

-Some places I accidentally death bombed, one place cause I was not thinking, the other cause someone IM'd me
-Used Marisa A cause I think that the default character for a lot of people
-Used 5 default lives cause well... most people try to 1 cc with 5 lives first.

It's hilarious that this actually works, but as far as I can tell the strategy doesn't actually hold up that well.

In MoF, you have a net gain in lives up through Kanako's battle, and the real challenge is to have enough lives to get through it. This necessarily means that you can't just spam through the game unless you're really good at the final card. Which apparently you are, Drake.

In my first 1cc attempt, I got to the last card with 4 lives, and still lost. So, no, people trying to beat MoF Normal shouldn't use this strategy.

No no no. You're not getting it. I'm not telling people to actually copy this and bombspam through everything, this is a QED on the theory that MoF is easily 1ccable with bomb abuse. Generally, unless you suck really, really badly, you won't be bombing stuff like most of the nonspells and many early cards. I even demonstrated how easy some of the later patterns were and bombed at the end. In addition, you don't want to suicide immediately after running out of bombs, you can at least attempt to keep going. I did stupid things on purpose, to demonstrate that anyone can do this. The only reason I had to actually dodge on Mountain of Faith is that I kept killing myself because I was wasting bombs that you shouldn't even have to use.

I also managed to finally 1cc this one last week, after countless tries. Here's the replay, it's ReimuB and I bombed the fuck out the last stage. It was pretty close, I finished with no lives left.
