["Art"] Summernight Dreamed
« on: October 05, 2013, 09:33:51 PM »
So, I decided to go down the following line of reasoning: if Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff (warning, the site contains slightly NSFW content) looks shitty when drawn by an actual skilled artist, imagine what something like that would be like if it was made by someone who can't draw! However, I didn't want to just repeat SBaHJ (though I've done that, too), and it's really easy to make the "two guys on a couch" formula unbelievably shitty -- though to be fair, SBaHJ fits the formula for precisely one panel -- so I decided to make Shakespeare shitty instead. The goal was to create something which is considerably worse than the result of a mere failed attempt on my part. I present to you: Summernight Dreamed; the comics are  presented here for easy viewing, but for full effect you might want to at least look at them on the site itself (which will, at the very least, allow you to view only one eye-searing comic at a time). Take note that I have ads with Project Wonderful, although SD tends to get less traffic than the rest of my site.

#7 And a plot twist!

This was the most technologically-advanced installment of Sumernight Dreamed yet, inasmuch as it used a Paint.net plugin called "JPEG Effect." It then required painstaking efforts to ensure that the parts of the layers which were supposed to be transparent remained transparent, because the JPEG Effect plugin just changes all transparent areas ........ BLAPCK

1. Magic wand all transparent area with fillmode=global and threshold=0.
2. In xor mode, rectangle all your picture. How to xor?
a) {Ctrl+MouseRight},
b) instrument properties -> button with rectangle graphic.
3. Now your effects affect only selected area.
4. ???????????????
5. PROFIT.

What, you thought I wasn't doing this anymore!?

I had to downgrade from the latest version of Paint.NET in order to make this look properly shitty. I have no idea what they did with the Paintbrush tool, but there is literally no way to get the old appearance back. (And the less said about the mandatory "Finish" function, the better.)
