Rules for players intending to sign up:
New players we've never seen before: Link a game completed somewhere. Discretion up to the mod of the game.
People who've been lurking: Probably take a look at your general activity and conduct, link to prior experience is also preferable.
People with a bad history: Subject to approval from Godmothers, the current mod and any other management.

I'd like to bring up right now an idea I had: possibly for future downtime whenever, but it requires constant activity from 4~5 players (I think 5's best) for not a short period of time.

Mafia Gauntlet. 3~5 consecutive "D1" games with 5 players, 1 scum, 72 hours, lynch the scum or lose. Each game will have a 24 hour pause between them and the same 5 players will play all of them. Scum has an obvious advantage but, well, think of it as an experiment:
-is it easy to catch scum on D1 with maximum :effort: or are there scum tactics that consistently get you through D1?
-obvious meta questions: was there an improvement in town's game over the course of the games?

I think practice would probably help you not get lynched D1 (D1 apathy makes it easier that you get lynched as either alignment) so that you can reach the rest of the game.

I'd like to join that thing but it mostly depends on when it happens and what I have going on at that time.

Practice has definitely helped Serela get lynched Day 1. He almost has it down to a science!

I started playing roughly 2 years ago so I have a little more of a frame of reference :V

Although yes, my D1 might have gotten more apathetic *coughcough shifts eyes* I often can't generate solid opinions on scumhunting until mid d2 >_> And nothing that's even half-decent until late d1. Everything earlier tends to just come off as silly comments on silly things.

I really need to start just lurking out d1 more like I keep telling myself I will each game, and then redeeming everything in d2 (like Esuna Busy in swordgirls and many other examples)

Even if you can't generate solid opinions you can post small things too. Defaulting to lurking regardless of alignment is going to make people not want to play with you.

You shouldn't need to worry since I'm probably going to keep doing what I've been doing D1 no matter how many times I say I should lurk through d1, because I've been saying that for a pretty long time now without actually doing it

If you think that my current D1 activity amounts to lurking, then I'm afraid that was already pretty much me trying my best! D: (Hence why I don't like D1)

Popcorn Mafia signups go.

Rules:

The Setup
Nightless; 6 townies, 2 mafia or 8 townies, 3 mafia or 10 townies, 4 mafia.
The mafia pick a player to be the first gunbearer.
The gunbearer's alignment is revealed (can be either town or scum).
The town discuss amongst themselves, and the gunbearer picks someone to target by posting ##shoot Elmo or similar.
The gunbearer dies and the target becomes the new gunbearer.
Repeat until all mafia are dead, or the mafia's numbers equal the non-gunbearing townies.

- Days will last 72 hours (3 days). There are no nights. The day ends when the gunbearer shoots.
- Play to win.
- Don't be lame.
- Don't quote any private communications (role PMs, questions you asked the mod etc.). Paraphrasing is fine. If you're unsure if your paraphrase comes too close to quoting ask a mod.
- You cannot talk about the game outside the thread.
- Twilight is the phase between when a someone is targetted and flips are announced. Town may continue to converse during this time.
- The gunbearer will shoot itself if time runs out, and mafia will be allowed to choose a new gunbearer.
