I made a Suwako in Minecraft a few months ago, and just now built a Cirno.
Suwako is over 90 blocks tall. I fell to my death a lot. No points for guessing the source image.

Cirno in the daytime. Cirno is 30 blocks by 40 blocks, and built by a lake.

That Pyonta. Did you build this in Creative Mode or Survival Mode? AND ARE THOSE DIAMOND BLOCKS I SEE IN CIRNO'S HAIR?

Survival mode, everything 'legit'; meaning I used an item duplication glitch.
Yes, those are diamond blocks. They fit the color best.

Suwako was built in Beta 1.8 I think, but it could have been as far back as 1.6, Cirno was 1.0. There are several item duplication glitches, and 2 of them still work in 1.0

Thanks! As much as I'd like to, unless the server is creative I don't think I can due to the item duplication glitch not working in SMP.
But if an admin spawned the required blocks and tools... that'd be another story.

Alright, so Youmu is done.
I'm not entirely happy with how this turned out, but given the available color palette I feel it's the best I could do.
Dimensions are 64 by 70 for those who are interested.

I'm really happy with how this one turned out, although I couldn't get the butterfly pattern on the dress right. So I made my own and put it there.

Looking for a good source image takes around 10 minutes max, finding a decent place to build 5 minutes max, terraforming takes 30-240 minutes depending on the size, duplicating resources takes around 5 minutes, and the actual build ranges from 1-4 hours. Youmu took about 9 hours total, this Yuyuko is the result of about 7. Suwako took 6 or 7, and Cirno took 2.

Bumping because...I finished the Aya. I've been procrastinating this due to the sheer amount of obsidian in it, but the worst mistake was starting to build the right wing 1 block too low. Only 1 block was misplaced in the entirety of the hair building.

Dimensions are 56 by 60, and 19 different materials were used. Ignore the dirt-it's the 'pillar' I used to take the shot of Yuyuko.

These are looking quite nice. Most people just copy sprites from Touhoumon or something. It's nice to see some original sprite work that looks really good.

Also, I notice a distinct lack of Patchouli. Understandable, since the Minecraft colors are so limited.. And that Tewi sprite shouldn't be tough. Pink and Magenta wool work with each other pretty well.

Thanks, although I'm finding an images and converting it to blocks, I'm trying to avoid official sprites whenever possible (I couldn't find a Yuyuko that fit what I was looking for outside of official ones though...).
Tewi I'm worried about because I have to add the color in, shouldn't be too bad but I'm worried I'll get the color wrong.
Is that a request for Patchouli?

You'll have a much easier time coloring Tewi than you would Patchy. The colors just work out better for Tewi. And, no. It's not really a request for Patchy, unless you really wanted to take on that challenge. I imagine you'd have to make some changes to her color scheme to compensate for the lack of diversity. But, if you manage to pull it off, I'll be grateful.

Uhhh...yeah, sorry for taking so long on this, I've been trying to get Minecraft Structure Planner working in 3d and then finals and then more failing at it and then more finals and then a trip to Texas and then going 'screw it' and building the next thing in the queue in Creative.

This has been easily the biggest pain to design yet, the hair alone took 20 minutes and there were many creative liberties taken with the source image. I'm happy with how it came out though. Probably my second best one of these yet (Yuyuko being the best due to available color palette)

Oh, nice work man, that Yuyuko S2, but for me this one Koishi is a bit strange, her head looks so big. You could make a Marisa, create a massive line of TNT in front of her and create a video called "Minecraft Marisa's TNT Master Spark"

I agree though, but that's what the image I had looked like so that's what the block art looked like.
