I don't think it's referring to the actual healing circles. Have you noticed that you'll sometimes be healed while you're out exploring? I thought it was happening upon getting a new shikigami, but I could very easily be wrong about that. That healing may be what it's referring to.

Pretty much every cutscene in the game fully heals you.

Man...I dunno if I've been underleveled or what, but the area north of the sunflower field and the former hell has been giving me ridiculous amounts of experience.  The boss where Murasa was pretty easy (not hard to survive his attacks), but I did relatively little damage to him per-hit.  Poison (from the breakfast loli) turned out to be really good (again).

Now that I've got the undenier, is there any place I should revisit?  Other than the area east of where you get Reisen I can't really recall any other those symbols.

And are the items for those material set recipes supposed to be really rare?  I've only found three of 'em.

Hookshot get! I've gotten Luna and Star, but I can't remember if there are any other hookshot areas in the first stratum. Are there, and if so, where are they?

Check the mountains area and 3rd chaos plains area.

1. In the mountains, you want to start at the north exit to make it easier to find the hookshot spot there.

2. The hookspot in the other area is nearby where the leftmost tower is.

Uguu~ I am barely playing through GoS and yet this game sounds like so much fun! I especially love fangames that allow a ridiculous amount of playable characters. >.< Should I finish GoS first or should I also start playing this?

I'm wanting to say it was a drop in Muenzeka (from the gargoyles).  I imagine there are better defensive weapons later on in the game, but holy crap that magic resist.  Also, that sprite totally looks like a tempered master sword from LTTP.

Is Chloe resistant to pierce?  Remilia was doing incredibly poor damage to her.  Byakuren and Sunny did the bulk of the damage to her with Starlight Whip and Star Blaze.  My first attempt was aborted thanks to her last word killing off Byakuren (who had Orin for resurrection) and Remilia, the second time I don't think she used it at all.  So, uh...any shikigamis I should try recruiting on the first or second stratums?

Okay this is just obscene.

How the everloving hell do I beat the first tower boss?  Party's around level 26-27 and she still oneshots everyone but Yuka and Mokou with her regular physicals.  She has too many attacks that all do way too much damage even with circle or double circle ice and blunt resists and she doesn't take any damage.  The absolute best I can pull out on her is maybe 150.  HELP HELP HELP

If you're recommending specific skills, please tell me what they do and who has them, as I can't read most of this and don't know what's going on half the time!

My most recent success against her was mostly thanks to Momiji and chaser abuse. Get at least a double circle resistance for blunt on your tank, use Momiji's provocation on her, then bombard the zombie with attacks of any element you want (I prefer fire, as it stops her from getting the land too close from ice) and use Peri to chase those attacks. Don't forget to use Buruburu's ice element barrier every turn, too.
Also, people on Poosh are mentioning how she's weak to being debuffed... weird, maybe I didn't test enough, then.

I just spent the past two hours trying to beat the first tower's boss, and managed to do so at level 25.  Just barely, at that...Byakuren ran out of MP to cast the skill that lets you nullify ice damage, so at that point I decided to just rush the boss down as best as I good, which mainly meant taking risks about not keeping heals up and abusing chasers and Ichirin's fire attack at the end (I had Eiki and Yuka as the last two people left alive).

Speaking of chasers, those were about the only way I could damage the boss (Eiki and Sanae couldn't do much damage directly, Yuka needed the MP for Momiji's skills, and I was conserving Remi's HP for resurrections and chasers).  It managed to stall me out a few times with poorly timed sleeps/killing people, which is probably why I ran out of MP to use the ice shield.

North of the shrine, if you have the shortcut from the fairies' tree just go there.  Other than that, I think they are random encounters anywhere close to the shrine so the field south might work.  Personally, I went north based on what I could understand from the Japanese wiki.

I didn't know about it beforehand, but if the boss is vulnerable to defense and resistance debuffs the monster 新造人間サイコポリマー (from Muenzeka, enter from the Makai 4 side, looks like Jinzo from YuGiOh) learns "Manufacture Weakness" at level 20, which drops a resist by one level.  You could use that to make it vulnerable to fire.

Swapped out Yuuka and put Mokou back in as my team's tank for now.  Cleaned up what I could of the 1st tower besides that boss, then went onto the 2nd stratum.

More awesome music here of course, new battle theme, and different enemies.  Some of them are getting to be annoying now (Petro Breath using enemies, bah).

As for acquisitions, some nice item drops (Blunt weapon that can poison for my Reimu, some misc. crafting items & armor), a new character (Sanae), and a new shikigami (Ran).

Ended the session today by taking out the 2nd tower's guardian.  It's a jerk.  Second turn of battle it shifts the land heavily towards dark, then starts laying on the hurt.  It's not too ba...oh wait it can use the single target instant death spell it's not ok now. 

I lost the first attempt thanks to that (Which I wasn't expecting to win honestly, just wanted to see what the sucker could do).

Second attempt with a bit of shikigami & equipment shuffling was the winner.  Instant Death spam can kiss my ass (If that demon had a multi target instant death spell I would have probably flipped), but being weak to light was a good thing.  Only had Youmu & Marisa alive at the end, but whatever.

Now...what to do.  Check out the tower for goodies & probably get pasted by the boss inside or stay outside and go north of the desert and see what I run into there?  Choices, choices...

Okay I did not realize that Buruburu (Burabura is the fire one, Buruburu is ice) has ZERO COOLDOWN.  That skill along with Koakuma's Dark Illusion just COMPLETELY SHUTS HER DOWN.

The second stratum tower boss is significantly easier than the first. 18 is probably a reasonable level to take her on.

I think I recall hearing she countered elec attacks with scary things. Possibly was a different boss I'm thinking of though...

In any case, could use something with the Jammer field effect to raise your earth resistance a bunch.

Actually, Tenshi counters the shock condition by using 4 COMPLETELY separate Jammers in a single turn.

I would avoid skills that inflict shock. Same goes for weapons as well.

Third stratum recruitable monster オシラサマ has many field skills, one of it's two starting ones including  ジャマー, which is Jammer.

Alternatively, her other starting field is un-overwriteable, so Tenshi's jammers wouldn't do anything.

Forest of Magic (next to the Misty Lake exit), Suzuran Field, and I think that's all of them.

There are pretty much only two things there, Medicine and the longshot spot, so it's not like it's too hard to find.
I think you just need to go down and left as much as you can, but my memory about that is a bit foggy.

Damnit Tenshi took way too many tries.  Boss that does ridiculous damage AND spams instant death and petrify = do not want.

But finishing her with Shikieiki's last word was just too damn good.

2nd tower cleared.  Enemies went from steamrolled to goddamn annoying as hell.  Mind Flayers manage to suck even more than they did in GoS (And they were bad enough there!).  Angel dudes with a cheapass OP multitarget light spell that does like 100+ damage, and assassins that are basically the same as they appeared in GoS.  I'm pretty sure those two enemies were responsible for two of my party wipes during the dungeon.

Oddly enough the boss of the tower was not quite as annoying.  Yeah I lost the first time as I was getting used to what she could pull off (Charge up into what I think is a row based attack that can hit for 200+ damage and basically OHKO anyone at this point?  Bah).

Second try?  Basically Mokou saved my ass at one point.  I thought I was gonna lose again cause it was just her and Patchy alive at one point while getting lucky several times that her charge up move missed.  Then Mokou got a LW and I basically won it from there.

Rewards after leaving the tower were a Satori & a kedama as new shikigamis and the ability to recruit monsters as shikigamis.  Only got one in such a fashion though (Some kind of giant wheel with a face).

Ended the day by going to Muenzuka and picking up the hookshot.  Yay I can finally check out some of those points I couldn't get past before now.  Maybe get some more monster shikigamis too.

Monster shikigami vary from useless to awesome.  There are only a couple I would say are mandatory, at least until the final tower.

Peri (Chasers make everything so much easier)
Buruburu (For the first tower boss, and only for the first tower boss, but combined with Koakuma it makes her a joke)
Dragon Maid (Circle resists and breaths for all four elements as well as a pretty good single buff, great for hitting chasers with Peri)
