TOUHOU: A retelling
« on: December 29, 2011, 06:34:44 PM »
I am the Eye
The great Above
I am the One who tells the Tale

A portal opened, a vista breached
A new tale told, an old laid to rest
Gone the darkness, the mentor, the dream
A new day breaks in crimson

The fey rise up in agitation
Red mist overwhelms their vision
All is chaos, swirling around the
Center of the scarlet storm

A razor thin line of balance
Cuts through the bloodied haze
Crushes the darkness that hovers
Seeking with the eyes of the hawk

No patience for fools arising
She pushes through the fog and mist
Sparing not for heat nor cold
Great or small alike, destroyed

At last the gate, at last the building
Brought from a land unknown, unseen
A coruscation of color amidst the red
The Orient cannot bar her path

I am the Eye
The Puppet Master
I am the One who tugs the Strings

Into darkness, into silence
The keeper of balance brings her light
No hesitation bore she, striking
The small and sick from her way

Ascendant, resplendent,
The halls rang out with her coming
An elegant dance of whirling blades
Time itself rails against her

At the last, the mistress stands
Against her, bringing all her foul art
Of blood, a spattered spear raised
To turn the night to Scarlet.

I am the Eye
The Music Player
I am the One who caresses the Keys

The day is risen, the sky clear
The sun shreds through the crimson mist
All and all descends in quiet
And tea.  Because tea is good.

One last journey, down and down,
To the heart of madness and destruction
To the eye that exults in chaos
The last remnant, waiting

A trap, a sword, a clover's leaves
A children's song gone all awry
Bouncing, ticking, empty doom,
The balance stands supreme.

I am the Eye
The great Above
I am the One who tells the Tale.

Boredom at work is a great motivator.   :V  I like it though.  Nice short and good flow.

A chill has settled upon the land
Despite it being May,
A downy blanket, soft as sand,
The ice still does remain.

"Where is spring?" The question asked
The faceless sky silent
The mystery is now a task
The three respond, violent.

The Arbiter, all blood and snow,
The Witch, red turned to black,
The Trickster, black to blue it goes,
Arise, winter to wrack.

The snow itself would bar their way
Content with the long night
No easy sleep seeks she, the fey
And frigid spirit fights.

The village slumbers peacefully,
But claws hide there behind
A familiar presence, eerily
A battle they there find.

Another figure, from long times past,
Tugs at the heartstrings,
Though once before she was the last,
The puppeteer now sings.

The open skies greeting sounds
Above the clouds and cold
The trio's ghostly song resounds
A piece played loud and bold.

The endless path that claims the dead
The vast stairs they ascend
Prepare they with silent dread
This mystery to mend.

A moment's sound, twin keening edges
A slash of day and night
The gardener cuts more than hedges
A life and death, each fight.

The final steps accounted for,
The great heart of it all,
A smiling princess stands before
A tree, and the spring's fall.

But once need flap the butterfly
Its wings, to strike disaster
What dread portent does then lie
In the swarms in the hereafter?

Another day, another festival,
For swiftly grown flowers
The dead as well join in the revel
That lasts till early hours.

Yet one last point nags at the mind
One last set of rounds -
How were the dead so easy to find?
What happened to the bounds?

Return they to the bounded field
By daylight they are stopped,
The mistress sleeps, in dreams congealed
The fox her spellcards popped.

One last time they come again
Reality unmaking
Phantasmal purple colors bend
Protector, painstaking.

iamp ???

also I hate rhyming it makes everything sound pretentious and stuuuupiiiiiid

TO BE SUNG TO THE TUNE OF "THE OLD DUN COW"

Now here's a tale of a goodly time, had at the Hakurei Shrine,
Good cheer and beer were passed around, likewise sake and wine,
For many a day, come every night, they had themselves a feast,
Constant gatherings were had in the land of the east...

But came one day, with a mist alight, suspicious grew Reimu,
The frequency with which they had these past the first or two,
So she started off to wreak havoc on everyone she'd see
But it would be a while yet till she'd find the oni.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand
Remiu's drunk
Alice in a funk
Marisa cracking jokes and hurling puns
And "Booze! Booze!" Yukari cried, as she came stealing everyone's (clink clink!)
And the SDM, and the Netherworld
[Patchy says they're weak to fire (WEAK TO FIRE)]
And they all got blue-blind paralytic drunk
In Immaterial and Missing Power

no screw it I'm not writing a verse for every single scenario

bloody rhyming

The first few were mystical, and the last was hilarious! I can't wait to see what's next!

The Moon
the even Light
is full and radiant

The Land
of fantasy
its slumber uncertain

The Pairs
they seek the End
they take flight one by one

The Life
supreme tonight
old Death is laid behind

The Bug
the Insect Swarm
is cut down by the Blade

The Bird
the Sparrow Song
the Needles lay to rest

The Beast
the Changing Form
is written to the side

The Witch
the Black and White
the Amulets will find

The Main
the Arbiter
by lasers is dissuaded

The Lop
the Rabbit-Eared
a joke, a jest, a game

The Bow
the Doctor's hands
'twixt Life and Death and Time

The Five
the cruel Requests
the Princess cannot die

The End
in Tea and Joy
Imperishable Night

The Ash
the Light twisting
History undone

The Flame
the Phoenix song
of Rage and Time and Rest

The Food
the Pastry filled
with jelly and with Fear

This was kinda fun to write!
