Hmm... I'mma hafta go with rice bullets on this one. Simple, bright, and easy to read, but with a bit more character than 05's. They're one of the more common bullet types in the series, but I never hear anybody talking about them. They need more love.

I'll love them. It was the first bullet I thought of at first as my pick for this question but then I remember that amulets are usually an integral part of a lot of my favorite cards.

I'll have to go with amulet/ofuda bullets. No matter what the game, these have always been consistent and fair bullets with nicely sized hitboxes. So many other bullets used to be nice, but then broke my fragile heart when they changed radically between IN and MoF. ;-;

Utsuho's sun bullets or the IN fire bullets (used in Phoenix Tail and Salamander Shield, probably others too). I just like the way they glow and the suns look impressive.

I think those large bean shaped bullets got totally screwed up, like in EX-Kogasa's first spell.

Also, I forgot all about amulets. Those are a very cool bullet type that seems to get used in lots of cool spells.

I'd say amulets as well. Honorable mention to Utsuho's FACE-MELTING-SUNMAKU just because.

Glowy blended bullets (Especially when Kogasa uses them along with rice in her TD S3 Midboss appearance since I like the rainbow effect, but also anywhere else, like with Orin's Blazing Wheel, and such.) for me.  They've always seemed really neat and fancy compared to other bullet types.  I also like the amulets and I'M GOING TO THROW THE SUN AT YOU bullets; they just don't compare to the simple but shiny bullet type I described before.

What character from the printed works would you most like to see in a Touhou game as a boss character? Ones who haven't already appeared in a Touhou game, mind you. This is strictly for newcomers to the danmaku scene.

In the past, I would have said Watatsuki no Yorihime (specifically as a dual Extra stage boss with Toyohime), but now I would looooooooooove to see Ibara Kasen in a Touhou game. And don't bring up the fact that she was supposed to be in Ten Desires. I have enough heartache over that decision as it is.

For the main type Touhous, I think there are 4 choices, Kasen, Yorihime, Toyohime, and Reisen II. I would say Kasen is probably my top
choice. But I feel like she should be a fighting game boss.

Kasen would have fit in perfectly with the appearance of spirits in 10D and the fact she didn't show up in even the most minor of roles is something of a disappointment.

is the needle bullet. Actually, it ties between needles and stars. If you don't know what the needle bullets are, they're the ones that look like long rhombuses but tiny. Basically, what Minoriko Aki aims at you in weird ways.

To the Printed Character in Touhou question: Rinnosuke Morichika. We need a manly man in these girly games.

I want to see all the characters appear, but I must admit Kasen is the most suitable.
Akyu would be pretty interesting to see rendered, too.
On an unrelated note, should they bring back any PC98s not named Mima or Shinki, they should totally be Chiyuri and Yumemi.

Kasen. While I don't know as much about her as I probably should, she seems like the best choice out of all the options.
I'd quite like to see Reisen II as well, possibly in a game with the Watasuki sisters.

What is your favourite scoring gimmick system out of all the games? Relatively straightforward question, I think; PCB had the cherry gauge, IN had the human/youkai meter going on, 10D has the spirit collection mechanic and so forth.

I think mine is PCB's. The cherry border was super useful for people who suck too much to actually dodge shit (like me!) and it also gave nice points whenever I didn't break it.
