You thought this project was dead? No, no, no...it just took longer than expected.

So without further ado, well, this was the version that would have been 1.6, but after a dispute I've opted to call this a derivative mod rather than an outright successor. Makes more sense that way as well considering the changes.
...and what of Squidtentacle's
original thread and modification project? Well, considering the differences between the two I say it's another interpretation of the idea! ^^;
This requires GTA: San Andreas and a US v1.0 executable. Don't have the former?
Amazon (US store linked) sells the downgradable Version 2 for cheap.
Steam has it too, but it has more complications from my experience (owner of that version here).
EU executables have so far been detected as rather stable (according to Sparda), but from my own experience spellcards don't work nearly as well (stability-wise) on that version.
Downgraded v2 EXEs have been noted to work. Note that v3 (digital download versions including the Steam one)
cannot be downgraded, however, and thus you'd be on your own there as we cannot help amid legal reasons.
Oh, and you don't require the prior 1.0 or 1.5 versions of Touhou GTA to install this. It is meant to be installed on top of a vanilla one for best results.
Version 1 script files are also included, so those of you with v2 or v3 saves will notice that they will
not work with this mod. If, after installing this mod, you find that your old saves are crashing immediately upon load, then they are v2/v3 saves and (alas, but I can't find a V2->V1 conversion method) you'll have to start the game over again.
Lastly,
Windows Vista and later users must set compatibility to Windows XP (Service Pack 2) for it to work. Going by testing on two 64-bit Win7 systems, the game just crashes when loading the game world without this.
Conversely,
XP and 2003 (and prior) users, if upgrading from 1.6, will have to remove bullet.asi and colormod.asi.

NOTE: You still have to download the below two if you're upgrading from 1.6.
Models 1/2Models 2/2All the models are here.
Audio 1/9Audio 2/9Audio 3/9Audio 4/9Audio 5/9Audio 6/9Audio 7/9Audio 8/9Audio 9/9The largest part of the mod (much to my chagrin). The radio is taken directly from Squidtentacle's mod for the time being, but includes a few mods I've done as well.
Version 1.6(A) -> 1.6.1A Upgrade Patch (non-model files)Fixes some issues and adds a new skin.img. XP and 2k3 users will have to manually remove the bullet.asi and colormod.asi files from the main directory, however. This file is installed
last (assuming no character modules are also installed), after the rest above is set up.
(standalone version coming in a few days)
Character Modules (optional)For those who want to play as different characters through the plotline (similar to the alternate character versions in Squidtentacle's mod; just easier to implement and install)
These replace models/tgtaspec.img and are extracted directly from the main TGTA VMod folder.

Feel free to make this into a torrent - just let me know by PM or post and I'll put it up as an attachment, but if it goes dead for too long it'll be removed.
Total compressed size (v1.6A): 2.11GB
Total uncompressed size (v1.6A): 3.61GB
Total size after full installation (v1.6.1): 6.04GB
Note: sizes are calculated using the default character module installedSAVE OFTEN! Even after mod stability tests, it can still crash unexpectedly at times (sometimes with a nice little crash report too). From what I've seen most involve audio stupidity.
