But anything before 2004 will have a severe lack of characters :<

CONGRATS

I'm horrendously inconsistent at Air Raid for some reason, maybe I should learn me those patterns better :V

If you can S Air Raid, I'm pretty sure you can get SS on every other non level 10 song without much difficulty. How do you think you would fare on I'm So Happy? It feels more difficult to deal with chart on the iPad rather than the machine.

Fixed for 5-touch limit and tiny screen.

Congratulations on the Air Raid rating S. :o I'd never understand that crazy chart.

Speaking of ISH, used to love that chart, used to be able to get over 900k easily, then I keep getting worse at it until I can barely get an A on it last time I played. No idea what happened to my skills. ;-;

Fixed for 5-touch limit and tiny screen.
Everything is more difficult on the iPod screen.

Thanks for the congrats, I'm really inconsistent at Air Raid too, I've looked at it enough that I can follow most of the chart with my eyes but still can't quite get my fingers to execute all of it properly.  That run in particular I left the part at 0:35 with an unusually high score, instead of looking at that part and going AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH *miss miss miss miss*

A lot of the remaining SS ranks I don't have are mostly songs I just don't play a lot, though in particular Crosswind and Slang are going to give me a lot of trouble with a bunch of fast runs that I can't time worth a damn, and of course the 10s.

I don't have I'm So Happy, but I just looked at it in YouTube and oh god those chords.  I'm pretty chord retarded (I'd probably miss the rainbow at the end of Sayonara Trip every time if they didn't give you three seconds to prepare for it), so I could see it giving me a lot of trouble, though it looks like it'd be a fun song to learn.

And I definitely can't play on an iPod/Phone screen anymore.  I might pull it out to pass a bit of time while I'm waiting for food in a restaurant or something, but I can't go through many songs before just putting it away and cursing its tiny screen.

SOUND VOLTEX BOOTH is out!

http://www.nicovideo.jp/tag/SOUND_VOLTEX

Videos are being uploaded on nico! :O

Official Site here

I really like the song list, loads of well known Vocaloid artists and touhou arrangers like ARM and SOUND HOLIC.

Looks like the gameplay is:
4 buttons that you hit when notes fall down like standard music games.
2 buttons that you hold for long charge notes.
2 knob, one red and one blue, thing that you turn along the direction of the red and blue long notes.

Looks really fun, hope they release it outside Japan. :(

Got wonder walker from a friend. Seriously I don't see myself full comboing it any time soon T_T. Loads of misses, my finger hurts when I have to do that two vertical slides at the end of the intro, the 16-panel rotation part wasn't as difficult as I thought as if I wanted to not miss any I can just slide my finger across some panels and screw getting perfects, but the whole song in general is really hard. @_@
;--; I want yellow head joe.

This is kind of an achievement thread, right? So:

S rank 924k on Lindwurm!
Felt like this was harder than Macuilxochitl at first, but then while I feel like I can't improve much on Macuilxochitl because I keep failing to perfect those horizontal slides... while the thing that's getting me stuck in the 920k range for lindwurm is that crazy part after the main melody... that's going to need to be memorized probably. Am I the only one feeling that horizontal slides are really hard to get all perfects, while it's easier if it's more spread out like in lindwurm? O_O

SS rank 952k on [E]!
I thought this was pretty hard at first, but then I was improving by thousands every try and suddenly I reached SS rank already O_O. Probably because the hard thing about this is the weird rhythm (as with all sota songs.), which makes it pretty easy compared to other lv10s once you get the hang of it.
The song is so addicting, it's so cool and weird... o_o

I still don't have Red Goose =_= but there's no way I'm doing random matching again, keep getting lincense songs I don't want to play. (Whyyyyyy why so many new lv9 lincenses this time.)

I got Red Goose all of a sudden, it seems. I think it was the Recommended Song of the Day so they made it available to everyone, and once you play it, you unlock it from then on.

Lucky~

Red Goose has been the recommended song for a few days but I haven't played on those days.
Was it the recommended song just for that machine for you?

I can always wait for the UFO to give me the song some day, but the UFOs hate me for some reason (Shouldn't have exploded so many ufos while playing touhou 12, now they are hating me for the massacre...fffff) and I haven't gotten a single song from it when a friend of mine who played about twice the amounts of credits than me have gotten like 4~5 songs from UFOs, what the hell. ???

I think UFOs only give you songs from past games. Like if you didn't unlock everything in Knit, it will randomly give you one of them via the UFOs.

Also, it was the game-wide recommended song, not the machine-specific one.

Update on GameZone's sitch in the Philippines for future reference:
- Prices for pop'n music 16 PARTY and beatmania IIDX 17 SIRIUS have been bumped up to 20 php/credit because of upgrades and fixes. Still infinitely preferable to TZ's 15 php but outdated IIDX GOLD, anyway.
- IIDX SIRIUS has a new TV screen, and with help from our group's techies, it's crystal clear and dead easy to score on.
- They're planning to get a (secondhand?) GFDM XG sometime in the future, with other machines in queue likely including jubeat and REFLEC BEAT.
- They're also planning to prop up another branch in SM Megamall.
- We probably still won't be getting e-Amuse until after a few years, but with the recent boom in business, it doesn't seem so far away.

Recently discovered the location of the ONLY (e-amuse enabled) IIDX 19 Lincle in Singapore! Need to find time this weekend to get my fix. Not that I'm that good yet, but bit by bit stepping up my game. Also maybe more Reflec Beat Limelight.

Masayoshi Minoshima and REDALiCE FTW!

Made a thread in Help Me Eirin, but Might as well put this out here too.

It's a Touhou Rhythm Heaven demo! Four songs so far, one-button controls. Relatively hard imo, but good fun!

Really? Now being able to unlock yellow head joe in jubeat has gone from impossible to slightly possible. Now to figure out how to upgrade the e-amuse gate account...

In other news, Reflec Beat Limelight's interface is one of the prettiest I've ever seen.

Editor's note: The game Manzai is not available on versions outside of Japan due to the Japanese-dialogue focused nature of the game. It has been replaced with the game Mr. Upbeat for versions outside of Japan.
Goddammit I had a feeling they wouldn't be able to pull it off

Eh a lot of the games feel kinda "off" and not like an RH game at all. Dai's doesn't feel "tight", like I couldn't just hit to the music for it to work.

Cirno's is weird since you have to time the hit on the jump so it feels like that penguin game from the first RH. Overall though it was probably the best and more "Rhythm Heaven like" one of the four.

Koa's was more like that drummer game rather than a RH game. It was okay in that respect

Sakuya's I did not get at all. I guess you have to hit it to the music but the music is so soft sounding I have no idea when to hit it...

The main thing is Rhythm Heaven games can be played without even looking at the screen because the focus is purely on the rhythm. This game mixes stuff from other music games but the product feels kinda muddy as a result.

I'd agree that the games aren't too Rhythm Heaven-y, but I actually thought the Cirno and Sakuya ones were pretty fun!

Anyway, hopefully Mr. Upbeat will have similar rules to Manzai. It looked like a ton of fun.

All we have in Brazil is a deteriorated Taiko 6 AC. Deteriorated, as in, you have to put A LOT of strength for the note to count.
It's expensive to play on, too.

Also, Technika is decent, but I don't play it enough since I don't go out to Playdium much, moreso because it doesn't have internet anymore :<
